Chango in Merton

This was my first time trying Empanadas and I wasn’t disappointed I tried the 3 veggie options as I’m a vegetarian and they were an explosion of flavours on the tongue. The condiment was a little spicy for me but to be honest they didn’t need anything else. I only had to wait a few minutes for my order and I had a spinach and ricotta, pumpkin and goat cheese and a vegan humorist (sweetcorn) all washed down with a regular chai latte. I even had just a little room for a chocolate Alfajar which again was divine. The service was great and this was a great little find on my little trip to Wimbledon village. Def worth a visit 🤩👌🏻

We had two lovely empanadas I would highly Recommend. The atmosphere is really great and the music made the experience super chill

Delicious spot for a quick lunch. Champagne Olives is the best! Makes sure to get the chimichurri too.

Chango on the High Street Wimbledon Village serves the really tasty hot empanadas, think mini pasties from Havana, flavours on offer beef, spicy chicken, cheese and ham, various vegetarian offerings and champagne olives! Highly recommended!

Great empanadas with great sauce and service. Love this place, and we keep returning to it as we live close by.

I am a local at Wimbledon Village and have passed by this store 3 times only to be met with a very miserable lady who has an excuse everytime not to serve you. First it was a broken oven, second it was because the empanadas hadn't defrosted properly and third broken oven again. Oh and was also told on one of those occasions the coffee machine was broken, as she continued to text on her mobile phone I refuse to go here anymore.

Las empanadas de jamon mis fav, pero fui a fines de diciembre y volví hace unos dias y siguen sin alfajores, y cuando pedi solo el cafe la chic que me atendio me dijo que tampoco funcionaba la cafetera. Yy otra cosa un peligro las condiciones de las escaleras para ir al baño. Me gustaría ir con mi familia pero no le recomiendo ni a niños ni adultos visitar esos baños en esas condiciones, las paredes hasta se cae la pintura. Muy dejado.

They don't give a receipt unless you give your email address. If you don't have one , they will write the amount on a brown paper bag and hand it to you. No name, no signature, no address, no date. I believe that's illegal.

We pop in yesterday completly by accident and Im glade about it:) lovely young girl waitress and delicious food:) we try chicken,beef and ham/cheese. All of them perfectly prepared.

I have ordered 3 Empanadas, one of them to eat here and now (warm) and two to take home. The first warm Spiced Chicken was not great, but ok-ish. The other two were just terrible and ended up in a bin. Beef was undercooked inside the Beef Empanada and the goat cheese Empanada pastry was severely undercooked/ underbaked. Such a simple food but so much can go wrong!

Popped in on the off chance for a quick lunch. Great friendly service from attentive staff, especially Este. Good lunch deal of delicious empanadas and a drink (and added bound of a free broken empanada). Good value take away boxes of mixed empanadas too.

I really used to like this place and been here regularly for years. Ever since the restaurant have offered eating in it seems to have gone down hill. Just today my order was wrong and received the wrong empanadas when I got home to heat them up. There also seems to be a discrepancy on the opening hours and turned up and rudely told they were closed.

When you grow up on empanadas and you can find flavours from home, the other side if the world....wow. But not only that....,I had just finished making my coffee at home and my Alfajores delivery arrived at the same time...a whole new meaning to simple, yet great food, excellent service (and mind reading to time biscuits with coffee). 😜

I have stopped off twice in one week since I discovered Chango because these empanadas are so delicious!! Bought 12 cold empanadas to heat up and have with salad for lunches during lockdown. I will definitely visit when the restaurant reopens.

This is a very interesting little Argentian restaurant / tapas place. Every time I am around I stop for some empanadas - very tasty and authentic. A very good solution to get nice takeaway food. Overall a great place but needs more space to be able to be even better. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great little restaurant. What at first looked a limited menu turned out to not only be delicious but great value. Wine was excellent. Staff super lovely. Wonderful place for a cosy romantic date and we will definitely be back :)

We had a really enjoyable meal although I did come away feeling a bit pecking. It's worth a visit but I don't think it was substantial enough a meal for me!

We made a last minute booking for date night. We were seated in the basement which was very effectively decorated as a shack. The mixed empanadas were authentic and tasty. The bruschetta were absolutely stunning and we were both suitably impressed.
