Table booked for 8.30pm for 3 adults. Saturday night... Place not busy and there were a man behind the bar, 1 waitress and 2 people in the kitchen. Nobody came to welcome us. Eventually we went to the bar and eventually we were seated. By 9 pm we had to ask the man/manager to take the drinks order as nobody came to our table. He came and took the drinks order including the food. By 9.45pm we were still waiting...I complained to the waitress although it was not her fault. Eventually the food arrived and I have to say that it was very nice. Basically food good Service appalling The only person apologising several times was the waitress....fair enough... We will not come back here....

The food here is amazing, our food didn’t take long to come and when we needed more rice that was not a problem. We had the Panang and Green curry and i would definitely recommend them again to anyone. The portions are enough for one person so take that in mind when ordering, we aren’t big eaters at all and we finished everything.

Well, what can I say! The food was ok. However, the service.....Apalling Took half an hour to come and take a drink and food order. Starters came a while later, but considering we had an 8 o'clock booking, we didn't get our mains until 9.45, and then we had to ask where they were! In all that time, not one person came and asked how it was or took another drinks order. The owner didn't even look in our direction when he was serving others and clearing tables, despite us calling him. No apology or explanation from him regarding the delay. Will definitely NOT be going back!

I'm going to call it.... This is the worst Thai i have ever had and the worst food i have had in a good few years, this is no exaggeration. The food was ordered though "Just eat" trying to complain is impossible through the site, if it is possible they hide the process so well you eventually give up anyway. Not all of our food was put in the take away bag (missing a prawn pad Thai) which although very annoying turned into a blessing, the chicken wing starter must have been a couple of days old it was that withered and dried up. The King Prawn Pad Thai was just a stodgy mess devoid of flavour with 6 prawns, the best part the sticky rice (well if you cant get that right...) deep fried veg looked OK, but that's it. i may as well as thrown £50 in the bin. Good people of Bewdley save you money and go elsewhere this place is S**t.

Decided to pop into Bewdley on the way home from Stourport, couldn't decide where to eat and normally always check trip advisor for local restaurants and reviews but didn't this time.. Spotted the Thai restaurant under a different name so decided we'd try it as I'm fed up of Indian and Chinese.. Lovely Thai lady came and seen to us (she was eating her dinner this being about 9pm) table 2 in the window, would of been able to see the river if it wasn't dark.. Lovely clean place, ordered 2 pints of Tiger off draft, some complimentary prawn crackers then starters. We had a mixed starter each of chicken Satay skewers, chicken toast, spring roll and Thai fish cake with the accompanying sauces. Then the mains: I had a penang (red Thai curry dish) with chicken and sticky coconut rice.. Beautiful.. Now my bloke is a bit of a gannit.. (local phrase for greedy b) so he ordered 2 dishes.. 1 a stir fry black bean dish with chicken... To his satisfaction.. Said it was beautiful.. Then a chilli noodle dish with pork.. Has 2 chilli marking on the menu.. Now he likes it spicy.. I took a mouthful and it was blooming spicy! Took the remainder of it home for his 80 year old mother who is a lover of all things spicy.. After we'd finished the male owner who's 73! Came talking to us as my other half is Welsh and we'd travelled up for the day from south Wales (I used to be a local from Dudley) over all, it wasn't expensive.. £69 for 2 starters, 3 main dishes, 2 pints and I don't think they charged us for the 2 soft drinks.. The man and I'm presuming his wife the Thai lady were lovely.. And not stressed at all.. They'd had what looked like a large party in prior to ourselves but we're still attentive and didn't wait long for the good at all.. Planning on returning on our next sunny day to Bewdley.

Ate here this weekend, the food itself was pretty good and everyone enjoyed what they ate. The service though was shocking, you would have thought it the waiter was going out of his way to be rude and unhelpful, and getting another drink was an ordeal of its own!

Food not bad but expensive and the Manager was vile,abrupt and stressed.Reminded me of a John Cleese without the humour.Did not make you feel welcome.Wont go near there again!!

My last take away (number 45, a red curry) was simply devoid of chicken.... one or two pieces maybe in a swamp of sauce and under cooked veg. So I complained and had a free meal tonight. More chicken but a wishy washy sauce and again undercooked veg (raw). Very disappointing. Don't think I will go again.

A bit hesitant going in on a quiet Tuesday night in Bewdley but so glad we did. Very hospitable with great food - fresh flavours with a good "Thai" heat to the green curry. Starters lovely too. Will definitely be back when we visit Bewdley again.

We visited last Saturday night as we had heard that there had been a few changes, and they are all for the better! First off, the place itself has undergone a 're-brand', changing name from 'Chang Thai River' to 'Rim Nam'. The whole front of house has been redecorated, gone is the Prawn Cracker bucket, the tired wallpaper and dated furniture, in its place, a cleaner, crisper offering which looks so much better! Added to this is the overhaul of the menus. The main menu has been simplified, with fewer offerings allowing for less complexity in the kitchen and a concentration on simple, well cooked food. There is also a new weekend lunchtime menu allowing an all you can eat offering on Sunday afternoons (for a very cheap price). Graham the owner is passionate about Thailand (having lived there for many years) and will happily chat about the country, its people and food. Yes, there have been some challenges on the delivery side of things recently, but as for eating at the restaurant, its great!

First visit to the area my wife and I were really pleased to have found this excellent restaurant. Having been out all day at the Severn Valley Railway this made an excellent end to a great day. The food was excellent, the decor simple but very effective, and the friendly atmosphere really good. The owner and his wife took time to talk with us and it is clear they enjoy what they do, even in face of the disruption caused by the work being carried out on the nearby road bridge. Parking was really easy, cheap, and close by, in the car park next to the Sainsburys local.

Terrible. So where to start. Booked a few weeks ago and forgot whether it was an 8pm booking or 8:15 Pm so phoned to confirm only to hear from the owner in the background “tell them we’re closed” after a very 2-3 minutes on the phone they said no actually we’re open at this point alarm bells should have been ringing. We arrived at 8:00 on Friday 13th (not joking) to see place half full. To cut a long story short food quality was awful and it took 2hrs from ordering to eating both starter and main courses. Will never eat there again. Service shocking, food bordering inedible. 1/10

Not a restaurant review but a takeaway review. Possibly the worst Thai I’ve ever had. The squid was like rubber, all the sauces were watery. Added to that a very long wait even after ordering on the app. Awful

First of all there are steep steps to climb which is not good for disabled people, which I am. Secondly there was only one young english boy to receive customers who was reasonably polite and helpful. Thirdly. There is no decor or authenticity of this place being a Thai restaurant. The decor is quite dull and the tables and chairs are set out like a works canteen. There was no Thai staff to talk to my Thai wife about the menu which is in English only. I have been to many Thai restaurants in both the UK and Thailand and all menu's are in both language's. The food was quite tasty except for my order of the lamb in massaman sauce. The sauce was very tasty but the lamb, although tasty was impossible to cut or get off the bone. Eventually the English waiter changed my meal for something else at no extra charge. the whole meal was overpriced for the standard of the venue. Fish and chips from below would have been a better meal by far. It was supposed to be a birthday treat for my Thai wife but both of us were completely disapointed. Michael Gerrard

Table of 10. No prawn crackers until we asked for them. Then they wouldn’t give us them till we ordered. 6 starters came out after half an hour. Then 2 more 50mins in. Then the last 2 over an hour in which meant they had to eat on their own after everyone else finished ages ago. Half the starters were luke warm at best. Never asked if we wanted another drink. After 1hour 45mins we asked where the mains were the owner was very rude to everyone so we decided to leave. Paid for what we had and left to go somewhere else. Terrible birthday meal. Will never go back.

The worst restaurant service we have ever experienced and was not even busy for a Saturday evening, will certainly never be going back to this restaurant!

I had a takeaway from this restaurant. It started badly when the prices that I was charged were higher than those on the printed takeaway menu. I was told that prices had increased and were correct online, but not on the printed sheet. This would not have mattered so much if the food had been good, but it wasn't. The rice noodles that I had were just in a solid clump, while the seaffood medley was mostly unidentifiable white fish with a couple of prawns and a few pieces of squid. Some of the white fish had previously been covered in breadcrumbs and presumably fried. In the sauce the whole thing was just a soggy mess. Very disappointing as I had used the restaurant based on other good reviews and it wasn't cheap. Perhaps they have a new chef.

Just had a takeaway, I have to say the portions were very poor and the mushrooms were old and very little seafood in the dishes. I love Thai food and we go to Thailand all the time so I know what the food should look like and I can clearly see they are skimping on the seafood for profit, unfortunately I won't be getting another takeaway.

The food was unexpectedly great! We loved the meal with had tonight and service was OK, but considering the few customers they had in tonight, I expected a check-in to see if we wanted another drink, more rice, anything really. Food portions were maybe on the smaller side, but still great value. 100% would go back and take my friends.

Was disappointed with the food , I had the penang curry and it was literally spicy water with abit of chicken , the mixed starter was just awful , chips still frozen in the middle , the ribs where alright though! If it wasn’t hammering down with rain last night I would have took it straight back ! Ohh and deliverery takes ages , and to put a service charge on takeaway food is laughable!

One of the worst experiences I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The starter had to be sent back because the food smelt as it had gone off, this we duck. No acknowledgement or apology given. The main meal was edible, and as soon as we had finished, the waiter gave us our bill didn’t even ask us if we wanted anything else to drink or eat. He then came over with the card machine, and I did comment to him that he had assumed that we didn’t require anything further. He then asked if we wanted anything else. I did advise him that he needed to improve his customer service skills. To which he pulled a face. Overall, the service was poor. The quality of the food was poor, and nobody seemed to even care not somewhere I will ever revisit

HORRENDOUS!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! I had a collection got home and the food was basically a tub of oil totally inedible. Rang twice to asked for a refund and was told they would not give me money back back because they didn’t believe there food was bad, screamed at me down the phone and hung up on me. Owners are disgusting people the place needs to be shut down.

Food was inedible just a big pot of oil. Staff are ridiculously rude shouting at my partner for asking for a refund and because they’d made a mistake taking the order. Been hung up on multiple times. Vile people vile food stay clear.

This is the worst Thai curry I have ever had!!! Ordered for take away and food is normally really good but I opened the bag to find a tub of oil. When I ordered I got dragged into the owner and waitress having an argument then when I rang to ask for a refund I was told no one would come to the phone and there’s nothing they can do. Very disappointing dining experience. The waiting staff had no knowledge of the menu. Service was slow, we had a reservation , the starter took 40 mins to arrive, the main course a further wait of 40 mins. We had to ask for music to be played to help atmosphere. Most of the food was edible but lacked flavour. One dish was inedible (chicken tasted off), we were given no apology when we complained. We will not return

Really poor service and mediocre food. We waited 40 mins for our starter and 40 mins between courses (which I had to chase for). The food was bland and one of dishes was inedible... even the prawn crackers tasted stale. When we mentioned this to the proprietor he shot us down without even an apology... we weren't asking for a refund, but we're made to feel that we were in the wrong without them even checking the dish in question. Service was disorganised and no-one was checking on customers to ensure everything was OK. The whole place is run down and lacked atmosphere.

First time visit last night with my family. We didn't book but that wasn't a problem and was offered a table straight away. THE FOOD - absolutely fantastic. Starters arrived quickly and can honestly say was the nicest chicken satay I've ever had. Presented great. Mains arrived just as quick. I had chicken tai green curry and coconut rice. I've had this dish from many places but must say it was the best I've ever had. The taste was amazing. Can not fault this place for the food. THE SERVICE - made us laugh. The staff were friendly and very welcoming but I feel could do with some training in hospitality. Very attentive but "just give me the number" made us laugh. Not surprisingly though as the menu is so big. I'd be surprised if she could remember everything. Starters arrived quickly but seemed some confusion on what was what. We had just put our fork down and the lady was told to clear our table. Mains came out really quickly and again cleared just as quickly followed by "you having anything else or not" as we were still chewing. Lol. We asked for the bill which arrived in 2 mins and she's stood there with the machine. We hadn't even looked at it. She then put it on a table behind us and walked off. Followed by the man coming over and picked up the machine and stood there. He was friendly as well but I just felt everything was rushed through. DECOR - was ok but a bit dated. We were sat by picture that they had drilled into the wall for but hadn't cleaned the dust off the beams. Didn't like the large plastic tubs of prawn crackers on show either. It was as if the kitchen stuff was spilling out into the restaurant. All in all though the food made it worth it. We will be back.

Fantastic food but poor service. Waitress had no idea about the food, wanted to just know the numbers, didn't ask about extra drinks and took my son's glass back to refill his lemonade. Then scrapped all the dirty dishes at our table.....huffed and puffed when asked for the bill

Used to come here when it was a Chinese Restaurant. But theses guys have step it up. Great food and friendly staff we love it here.

Arrived on time at 6.30, pm. At 7.40 we were still waiting for our main course, staff grumpy, and one waiter scrapped our dishes, and poured one dish of sauce into another dish of leftover sauce at our table, no one asked if we needed more drinks or if we were happy with food, I would not go again, did not leave a tip. Food was good service let it down.

This place doesn’t deserve one star but I can only post a comment if I give it a star… I had a delivery from this place through Just eat, my food arrived cold, no big deal, I can cope with that, what I can’t cope with is being sent mouldy food. Clearly stock rotation is a problem at this place. Also the crispy duck smells OFF… When I rang the restaurant to complain the woman laughed and didn’t care… Absolutely disgusting vile place, I will never waste my money on this place again…

Beautiful fresh food, we had set menu 1 which is £25 a head. Plenty of food. However the service was so slow we thought they had forgotten about us.

First time visit staff very polite and helpful and explained some of the dishes to use. We had starters and the red and green curry which was very tasteful and enjoyed very much. We will be back again next year.

First and last time we will be visiting here! Food was great. Staff were slow, clumsy and uncaring. We had to chase them up for a drink and to order food. Even had to beg for the bill. No reason or apology for the service.

A nice change from Indian or Chinese. Beautiful food, but not a cheap night out. The place is licensed so you can't take your own drink, but overall, worth a visit if like Thai food and you're in the area....and you never know, you may be lucky and see the odd local celebrity partaking !!! ;-) ;-)

We went to the Chang Thai for the first time and the last time last night. To start with the positives- the food was really delicious and authentic. Unfortunately the table service was very slow and the staff were rushed / unfriendly and unprofessional to the point of being rude! They were obviously understaffed but did not offer an apology or explanation for why it took nearly an hour to get our starter and more than 2 hours to get our main course. We were giving our order to the unfriendly waitress when she suddenly just walked off to attend to something else and when she came back she offered no explanation or apology as to walking away mid order. We waited for more than half an hour to get a drink or even order. We got the wrong drinks order and then the bottle of wine was put on the table and not even opened or poured into our glasses. There was no thank you or goodbye when leaving and they were just happy to get our money and treat us like a cash machine. Honestly it was really the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Enjoyed a good quality Thai meal here whilst staying in Bewdley. The shared starter was very good, followed by very generous mains. One big plus at this restaurant is the singha beer, which is available on draught, and is the ideal meal accompaniment. Let down...

Excited to be going out for a meal....at last! Went to one of our favourites, Chang Thai River, expecting the usual great food and service. We waited almost an hour for our main course, after sending back one of our starters as it was cold....

Food has genuinely made myself and my partner poorly, the waiter had dirty fingernails and in the toilet there was a large amount of urine over the floor (the toilet is unisex) .

Came here for my husband's birthday,The service and the food was absolutely fantastic the sharing starter was well presented and very tasty as was the main course but there was a guy who arrived about 5 min after us his phone was ringing non stop...

I've rated this restaurant 5 stars as I couldn't fault the food or the service but there was a guy sat 3 tables away his phone was ringing non stop and he was speaking as loud as he could about the work he's been doing and he had the person on the other end of the phone on loud speaker not what I would expect when I go to a restaurant for my husband's birthday. He arrived 5min after us and was still on the phone when we left. Had it been my restaurant I would have politely asked the guy to stand outside while he was on the phone .

We have business meeting in Worcester tomorrow morning early so we were able to stay at a Travelodge in Kidderminster who have been fantastic under the circumstances, moreover we were very hungry and managed to order in. Thai meal take away from CHANG THAI RIVER...

Rubbish. Unreliable when trying to order takeaways. Have now tried twice to order a takeaway online and have had both orders cancelled. Latest one was cancelled 15 minutes before collection time. Don't trust, and won't try ordering from them again!

Evie the waitress was one of the best waitresses I’ve ever came across so polite and kind she was amazing she gave the best service we ever had If Shane sees this please give her a promotion and raise she is the best waitress in that restaurant she deserves everything

Been every week since the eat out scheme , and worked our way through the menu! The set menu is also such a good balance and value for money . The duck dishes are probably my personal favourites . Great customer service too from Shane...

Went during eat out to help out and even though busy service was very good. Lamb Shank Massaman was the best I have tasted, and that includes visiting Thailand.
