Excellent meal yet again. This is the best place in Mansfield and the only play to eat if you’re looking for a quality Indian meal.

The New Chand Indian Restaurant, never been so busy. Excellent Quality Food, Excellent Service, pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went to the Chand on Friday 19/01/24. This was a birthday treat from my wife Barbara. As my wife is disabled, in a wheel chair. After parking the car. My wife and I crossed the road, found out we had trouble getting up the curb. Next minute several waiters came out and helped us in to the restaurant. The staff helped my wife to sit on a chair at the table. The staff were very attentive. The food was beautiful. When we decided to leave, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, got my wife's wheelchair and asked other diners if they kindly move, which they did. Then Hero one of the waiters, helped us across the road. Will definatly go back again.

We went to the chand for Christmas day our 2nd visit the food was absolutely amazing poppadoms and pickle tray mixed kebab starter and lamb for mains with rice and cheese and garlic naan very good service well priced 👌 definitely recommend

TAKEAWAY When Chand first opened many moons ago it used to be renowned as the best in Mansfield and certainly our go to restaurant. What has changed? We ordered 3 meals from here and not one of them was pleasant. The chicken tikka masala was literally bright red in colour, in a very false chemical way. My son said it was watery and only had about 8 pieces of chicken, the sauce being tasteless. The rice was ok. My husband had the Afghan chicken which was merely a tomato ‘base’ sauce with chilli powder thrown in - quite unpleasant and the chicken breast was not in pieces as expected but whole. Again bland with little flavour. I had a lamb rogan josh, and the lamb was tender and tasty on its own, it’s a shame is was wrecked by the sauce which was tasteless and smothered literally in raw garlic, see the picture, not fried crispy garlic as it should be. We ordered keema naan to go with our curries however this was oddly sweet with cinnamon and we couldn’t even taste the lamb meat filling. Overall disgusting and we will never return here for a takeaway or to sit in. The last meal we had from there was questionable, but this was gross.

Order a steak in advance when got there they said haven’t got any steak but they said they can cook me one and it be 5 minutes thought that sound a bit fishy but steak it came looked cooked on the outside but when cut in to the steak it was very pink and cold inside Verry un happy will not be going again

Excellent, tasty food and lovely staff. For starters, we had the mixed meat platter and some Tandoori king prawns. Delicious! For mains, we had egg fried rice, naans, lamb tikka masala and we fancied the seafood specials but didn't want too much of a sauce, so they kindly knocked up a sizzling jumbo king prawn shashlik (that wasn't on the menu) with an accompanying sauce in a separate bowl! The prawns were yummy even without the sauce but having it served that way meant we could have as much or as little of the sauce on our plates, which was perfect. :) Easily the best Indian in Mansfield after the chef left the Waterlily to start here.

First time with chand for a takeaway, we usualy go into the restraunt. Fantastic food delivery was very quick and food hot, only thing missing was the waiters. Well done Chand superb food as usual. Chris &Jane.

Amazing food, amazing prices, amazing service! Had a lovely meal for my partners birthday. The food was stunning, very tasty and good size portions. The decor of the restaurant is gorgeous, very up to date and chic, very aesthetically pleasing! Will definitely be back here, best Indian in Mansfield!

Wonderful food in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Love the choice of prawn dishes. This chef never disappoints and can tailor a dish to your taste. Will be returning soon.

The service was what really stood out here. We turned up without booking and were treated with kindness and respect from the minute we arrived. A great team.

We visited on a Wednesday evening with our elderly parents. It’s a few years since we last ate here and the restaurant has undergone a refurb since then which has been very stylishly done. We each ordered a meal and requested different heat/spice levels which were perfectly delivered. The food was very good, service excellent and reasonably priced. The premises (including toilets), were spotlessly clean and generally we were very impressed. Will definitely be back soon.

Went for our wedding anniversary with the kids raging along. Food is still unbelievable. This is deffo the best dine in Indian restaurant in Mansfield.

Ordered a takeaway here for a birthday celebration Saturday evening. Got an email to confirm the Chand had cancelled our order, despite pre-ordering early. I rang the restaurant and was greeted with an extremely rude reception, saying there was nothing they could do. We are extremely disappointed with not only the rude service we received, but the lack of explanation as to why our order was cancelled unexpectedly. We were not offered any alternative arrangement, and would not recommend this restaurant, despite previously visiting here. Very disappointed.

Came here for Abbie and Kevyns wedding on the 16.9.23 and the food was absolutely amazing! All the servers could not be nicer and the atmosphere was great. So clean and well laid out. Definitely will be returning.

Not as great as the one on ratclife gate Wouldn’t recommend especially with bad food hygiene. Only want as my fella booked this 😭 spouse to be best in town 😩

We were so impressed with our first visit we went back the following week. It's bright, has some unusual decor which adds to this lovely restaurant. I really appreciate that you can eat your meal with a little privacy while still enjoying the hum and buzz made by other diners. The food is rather wonderful. A good selection of items some you don't always find. The shami kebab has a kick but the omelette was incredible. (The omelette wraps/ covers the kebab). It was fantastic to see dosa on the menu. The staff curry wonderful with traditional mix of vegetables and meat. Finally the staff are utterly wonderful, you are well looked after.

I would think twice about ordering food from here. I placed a large order to be delivered locally. It took over an hour and half to arrive, I'd fallen asleep by then! They originally charged me via link around £33 but when they delivered the food they asked for over £57 The food not great. Hardly any meat or taste in our lamb curries, disappointing. Received food we hadn't ordered? Small portions. We won't be ordering from these guys again, rip off brittain comes to mind

Been coming here for ages but moved away. The new owners had improved from the previous ones and served good food . I was really looking forward to going back but was really unhappy with the food . First they got the order wrong and brought wrong main course. So had to wait while my food went cold waiting for my Mrs correct food. I ordered a Lamb Madrass what I got was 6 chunks of lamb in Madras flavoured tomato soup . Im sorry guys I will not be coming back again . You should be embarrassed to serve the dish it was so thin and watery it didnt even colour or stick to the lamb. No evidence of onions chillis at all . The owner brought the dish out if. He thinks that was a good enough standard there is a big problem somewhere .

Delivery. Poor attitude of delivery driver. Food not particularly good. One sauce fits all curries. Had far better and cheaper.

Haven't been for a few years but wow its had a massive transformation and the food was exceptional, credit were it due , iw I'll 100% recommend and be going back regularly.

5 stars all the way. Quality tasty food and not too expensive. Eating in is better than takeaway.

Great curry; slightly different recipes to usual Asian favorites.

So we visited The Chand for our works summer get together with the lads from work 99.9% of use hadn’t tried here before but one of the lads is a regular visitor. The reception we received when entering the premises at 5.30pm was very warm and welcoming as expected it was empty when we got there so early. I ordered a Hot Lamb Puri starter which was excellent and full of flavour a starter of the highest order. For main course I ordered a Lamb Naga Bahar curry, Masala Chips with Keema Rice and a side portion Bombay Potatoes and a Honey Nan bread. The main curry (Lamb Naga) was exceptional the right amount of spice was there and also the right amount of heat with a decent portion of Lamb chunks in the curry. Keema rice was lovely and not over killed with Ghee like at some places. Bombay potatoes run of the mill a potato is a potato. Nan bread with honey was spot on and excellent never tried a honey flavour one before. A great first visit I will be returning again but next time just me and the wife. Our waiter I didn’t grab his name was 10/10 service.

Lovely selection of food,lots of veggie options which was brilliant. Everything arrived quickly and was thoroughly enjoyed by the group. The staff were also wonderful,particularly our server Hero,can’t wait to come back in the near future.

Not impressed went with a group Nan breads to small the curry’s come out in kids portions not be going back not the cheapest and get kids meals

Myself and a friend went last night... and this was not the first and it won't be the last. Starter was 2 x poppadoms each with the chutney tray which was lovely, followed by a mixed meat sharer starter...again fantastic, I had the Chicken Bhuna with chicken fried rice with chips... absolutely beautiful food. Absolutely stuffed and satisfied. Not only that but the service was top notch. Always smiling and actually spoke to you as if you were family. Highly recommend this place...one of, if not the best in Mansfield.

I recently visited this Indian restaurant and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. The menu was extensive and offered a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes that were bursting with flavor and spices. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was hands down the best I've ever had! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout my entire meal. They even offered great recommendations on what to order and made sure that I was completely satisfied with my meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic dining experience. A group of us visited Chand’s restaurant recently and we couldn’t fault anything! We were seated and our drinks order was taken, we ordered starters, mains, sides and desserts. Everything came out on time, well presented, generous portion sizes and everything tasted amazing! This was my first time at an Indian restaurant but I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough! Also I would definitely recommend the Lamb rogan Josh!😍😍😍😍

Went here for a pals birthday recently, there were an extra 8 people in our party, they welcomed everyone with open arms despite being busy, and the service didn't suffer one bit, in fact it was absolutely perfect. The food was excellent and a great atmosphere, the decor looks fab too 👌 Decided in light of that to have a takeaway this evening and it definitely didn't disappoint, absolute class, thank you 👏

Always a lovely meal here with attentive and friendly waiting staff. Only downside for me is that they have recently reduced the delivery radius so I now can't order delivery to home.

My wife treated me to a birthday meal at the Chand. Haven't been here since End of July '22, but the manager Hasan, remembered us. All the staff was lovely, even Sam, the lady who did the deliveries. The food was delicious when it arrived, lovely and hot. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Reccomend any of the dishes. Will definitely go back to this lovely restaurant.

What an amazing night nothing was too much trouble for Anwar and his team...you gave us time to order and eat...any question asked was dealt with promptly and effectively..My Newphews birthday was made extra special by a surprise ice cream that he wasn't expecting...we have been coming Chand now for some time since these guys have taken over and trust me you will not be disappointed there food is top notch!!! Hats off to you guys you where truly amazing and never seem to amaze us...Well done for delivering an amazing new year for us as a family

This year we have visited a lot of Indian restaurants around the uk and I am so fortunate to have the Chand on my doorstep. Our first visit was in September and every time we go it is so good. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you. Visiting on New Year’s Eve the restaurant was full but the service was still first class. The food is some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted and you are spoilt for choice. The staff should be very proud of what they have achieved since taking over this restaurant. Absolutely fuming tonight. Booked a table for New Year's Eve, went for a few drinks as you do beforehand in town, arrived at The Chand for just before 9pm when we booked to be told that they had no tables???? We were offered a table upstairs that was freezing cold, and had no atmosphere, not a sole up there, that looked like they had just thrown it together in a rush, so disappointed.We usually love The Chand but we're bitterly disappointed, no heartfelt apology, they didn't really seem at all bothered to be honest. Thanks to Victoria Tandori our night was saved. NEVER again shall we will be going to The Chand, they have lost our custom I'm afraid x

Went to the chand Friday night for a family meal with grandson and what warm welcome. Explained we needed to get away for Christmas panto and service was fantastic along with the meal. Very tasty very impressed and will return. M Hibbert

Our food was 35 minutes early after specifying a delivery time, when I rang up the guy said that my order wasn’t even ready. What’s more is he then said hold on I’ll check - he put the phone down! Extremely rude and not helpful at all. I asked for a specific time so I could make sure we had got home and were ready to eat after a busy day. We had to re-warm our food for it to be edible. The naan bread wasn’t edible it was dry and flakey, and the onion bhajis tasted like they had been sat there for hours. I have found these to be hit and miss before but this takes the biscuit with the rude service. Obviously can’t hack it. There are much better takeaways in Mansfield. Will not be ordering from these again.

a delicious curry night with my dad - first visit here for me, and my dad a couple of years. Lovely welcome from the waiters, and we recognised hero’s friendly face from other places he’d worked. So they cancelled my order and told me they can't deliver to this address anymore because to far, yet they have been to my house plenty of times before.. shocking!!!!!!! And I'm still waiting to have a refund its been over 4 weeks now and I still haven't had my money back so the chand have stolen £26 of me!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered for delivery and food was soo bad..looked like it was few days old and just Microwaved and send it..when spoke to them on phone about it they were so rude and instead of being sorry or the manager was shouting at us saying what can I do if you don't like the food..ridiculous customer service and food..would never recommend.

Food was nothing short of lacking inspiration, hot was not hot, orders were not correct, restaurant was it busy. friendly staff however lack of everything was down to new management! If you are out of stock you are not going to replace cross it out or reprint what you have! A little pricey for why we had and will not be going back!

New owners at the Chand made a really good meal for us tonight. My wife and i tried some new dishes today; one was called chicken korai. The food was really well presented and very nice. Very friendly and helpful service. We will definately come back.

Ordered for 4 people. One of us received a cheese naan in stead of the ordered garlic and chilli naan, so not best pleased. The shami kebab starter was tasty but the saag bhaji was bland. The achari was very Lemony but ok. The rest was just ok. Not as good as the food used to be from The Chand. Disappointed.
