I came into the cafe after work. I asked for skinny fries for my little sister jemima who is a very picky eater and waited for them with my friends. When I got them they were half skinny fries half chunky chips. I explained politely to them that I wanted skinny fries instead. After waiting 10 minutes I only got chunky chips. My sister jemima is very disappointed with them. She beat me up. Also my friend got a hair in her cheese and tomato panini. Super sad. 2 stars.

Visited after 5pm and ordered a bowl of soup £3.95 no bread. After finding a seat and waiting 20 minutes, still no soup had arrived so I made eye contact with a server. I mentioned I had ordered soup, oh yeah sorry was the reply. Soup arrived a few minutes later, lovely and hot and very tasty. Most definitely home made. Not so much as a smile from the lass on the till or the boy serving. I guess it had been a long day?

I had to peel the batter off the chicken nuggets after they were hot enough to melt and fuse with the polystyrene tray they were served in.

We often pop in for a coffee, but recently had fish and chips for lunch. Good helping, well cooked, and fairly priced. Staff always friendly and chatty.

Staff are very unfriendly, they were looking else where when taking our orders, clearly did not want to be serving or be there! Tables are too close together. Food is ok presentation needs to be worked on. Staff should wait until everyone at the table have finished their food before cleaning the table. Made it look like they wanted you to move before you'd finished.

Islesburgh cafe is fine - it's not outstanding for a special lunch, but there's nothing wrong with the food. It's very basic. A bright cafe with a lot of tables and standard food, as you would expect from a cafe inside a youth centre. It's a good price for what you get.

If you're looking for home cooked food at a reasonable price in a family friendly atmosphere, this is the cafe for you. There's also a variety of snacks if you want a lighter option. The service is friendly and efficient.

Friendly staff, good food, plenty of gluten free options. First time I visited there was hardly any customers but the second time it was very busy so I was glad I reserved a table.

Well appointed restaurant with fantastic views. We had a lunch and a dinner there. For dinner, venison, duck and pavlova all delicious. Cranachan ice cream very tasty but not what we would expect cranachan to be. Service perfectly reasonable. All very good, but not 5* excellent. Would go again.

When you first realise that the building is actually a shop you are delighted to have found somewhere to buy food or in fact almost anything else you can think of. The bakery section is particularly welcome for hungry explorers. It’s a shame they don’t still have the DIY cafe.

Its a great wee stop on the road north. The cafe is cosy, quaint and full of nice cards and gifts. There is a nice range of different herbal teas and the usual teas/ coffees. The cakes all looked fab, and we had the fluffiest lightest fruit scones I've ever had the pleasure to eat - the portion of cream was generous and the locally made rhubarb jam was delicious too!
