Very cool interior!! Although, unfortunately not enough to make me come back. Charging £7.50 for one slice of sourdough for what I'm sure was pre-made tub avo and £3.50 side of eggs, we found the prices too step. Very slow service while it wasn't busy - not the makings of a good brunch experience of Central & Co. With a bit of urgency and better quality/presentation/portions I might be a return customer.

I went on a Friday night just to have some drinks with some Friends. We had already been in Central and Co for dinner and drinks in the past and we like the place, a bit crowded as it is a small place with nice background music. The food was a bit expensive food for the amount they provide, but good. Overall it is a nice place. Unfortunately yesterday the service was not that good, the drinks took 15 minutes to be served, just a jar of wine, and the bill they asked us to pay was the incorrect bill, twice! They had to create a new bill at the end. If the service had been a bit better I would have put 4 stars, as at least they were very polite.

Popped in here for a quick pre-dinner bite last Friday night at 5.30pm.The food is excellent. We had various nibble-type items (chicken kievs, lamb koftas), which were served with good background eg potato salad base. Husband then had the house burger to fill up - it doesn't come with chips or similar, but nevertheless, he enjoyed it.We had two beers and two cocktails. The Retox cocktail was amazing, very good. The salted caramel julep was a disappointment - minimal caramel and basically just bourbon with mint.I don't know if it was just a Friday night thing, but the service felt remarkably slow. We had to ask for menus, although two tables seated before us were given them in advance, and it looked like only one person was working the bar.It wasn't a massive problem, because we tend to give ourselves lots of time no matter what, so we weren't rushed. If we had been trying to pop in and out quickly (which wouldn't have been unusual, given how close this place is to various theatres etc), it might have caused some issues. Also - do not seat customers near plug sockets if your staff/other customers want access to said sockets for phone charging. I turned around a couple of times to find people kneeling next to my legs and on one occasion was actually asked to get up so they could access it!

Been to Central & co a couple of times - previously not much comment as they were only for quick beers and were months ago. But my two recent visits were really bad. First time I sat down for 15 minutes without anyone serving me at all, until I had to go up to the bar and ask. The place was almost empty - the staff were all gathering and chatting near the bar, and the girl server simply said 'Oh sorry I didn't notice you'. I ordered a Bloody Mary which seemed to be missing something - lemon juice maybe? It just didn't taste right. Second visit was this afternoon actually, when my friend and I went there for a drink/coffee. My friend ordered a coffee and I asked for a caipirinha, and the girl server had no idea what this classic cocktail is. I asked if they had cachaca - and received another frown. She asked me to spell the name and eventually I got what I ordered, which tasted very nice, but all the time we were there (not busy at all, we sat there for about 45 minutes) the staff kept bothering us, asking if we'd like another drink. It made us feel a bit compelled to leave as they were keeping an eye on us because we only ordered two drinks and stayed there for 'ages'. Wasn't really happy to pay service, but the waitresses' faces were too rude and scary for me to ask to remove it!

This restaurant was recommended to me by a family friend, so I decided to take a visit whilst in London today with my son. We were served by a very sweet waitress called Courtney who remained extremely attentive throughout our meal, keeping our wine and water topped up throughout. We decided to try two main courses - the rump burger and the breaded chicken (the chicken was amazing), and also got a side of courgette fries after our server recommended it - again, these were amazing. All in all, the décor, service and food was top notch.

I had the ribs and the steak burger which were both really delish and I had a Lavander Fizz cocktail which was sooo good, one of the best cocktails I've had and I noticed the bar guy with the glasses was really creative with the drinks. Central & Co firstimers on Thur evening. Restaurant was busy and lively, had a good feeling about it. It's on the top of the Carnaby Street, very easy to find and to get to. Service was excellent - attentive, polite, chatty just enough but not over the top. We ordered a couple of plates to share and a burger each. Burgers were ok (not the best in London, but tasty), sharing plates were tasty too, but we found them quite small and expensive for what they were. Bill (for 2 adults eating) came to £60 + service (for two burgers, 4 small (330ml) cans of beer £4.50 each!! and a couple of small sharing plates). I guess you are paying for the artisian look and a great location - good place for a date!

I've been dragged kicking and screaming to this place several times over the past couple of year's but have not been overly impressed and having read the reviews here I can see I'm not the only one. However, the last two times I have been here I have noticed a distinct improvement in everything from food and quality of drink through to service and ambience so I think there must have been a change of owners. I remember previously waiting to be served by drab miserable staff, more recently they have been chirpy and lively and very, very attentive. The drinks have improved significantly too - I am a big cocktail fan and there's now a cool little cocktail bar in the basement too - we didn't actually have a drink down there as it was packed out but I'll definitely do that next time. I only work around the corner so perfect for Friday night drinks.

Location and the décor of this place gives it a possibility of being a little buzzy gem in the heart of London. Sadly it is not. As a matter of fact, it couldn't be further from it. When we got to the restaurant and sat down, we had to wait for about 20 minutes till somebody even acknowledged us. Actually, it was other customers who made the staff (happily chatting among themselves) aware of us. We ordered lots of things from the menu since we decided to share. It was one let down after another. Don’t take me wrong, it wasn’t completely horrible. It was just so average. It was a Saturday night and we were planning to have few drinks, good food. We didn’t really have any of that. Very average and nothing special!

This restaurant ruined our birthday treat for my niece. Our family turned up for pre booked birthday dinner before Cats to be told we weren't welcome if there were any children in the party. My 10 year old neice was obviously in tears as we tried to find a table for 10 elsewhere (impossible on a Saturday night) and the staff couldn't have cared less, no apology for not mentioning their ridiculous no children past 5pm rule and felt no need to take on board that they should make customers aware when they take each reservation. I can't understand how they can go week in week out having rows with irritated customers when they could easily just mention it. A rude and ridiculous restaurant!

I booked a table here for 26th Dec, for a family celebration of my wife's birthday, prior to going to "Cats" at the Palladium, which is literally next door.Imagine my indignation then, when having driven for an hour, we arrived slightly ahead of time, only to be told that because my two grandchildren were under eighteen, we could not be accommodated, as "it was against the law" for them to be allowed in after 5pm. When pressed on this matter they told me it was "against the law of the restaurant". I have never come across such a child unfriendly establishment since trying to take my young son to pubs in the 1960's. IT MIGHT JUST HAVE BEEN ACCEPTABLE HAD THERE BEEN SOME NOTICE ON THEIR ON-LINE BOOKING SYSTEM, in which case we would not have wasted our time on this antediluvian establishment.May it soon close.

I went here with a couple of friends to have a drink or two after a great meal. I ordered a Lillet on ice, and enquired about what the price would be roughly. The bartender unsure asked the bar manger who told me it depends, I reiterated that I only needed to know roughly and was told again it depends (on what I wondered does it depend) The bar manager then handed me a bill for two 25ml shots of Chambord. When I pointed out that one is a fortified wine (not usually served in 25ml doses) and the other is a black raspberry liqueur I was told it was the same thing. Having gone from being told bluntly that it depends to being then told bluntly everything is the same, and being charged for something I did not have and is probably in a different pricing category, is frankly wrong, questionable in practise, and very certainly not cool. And to top it all the place overall wasn't really all that great. Your in London, there are loads of great places to go. This is not one of them.

Having been to Central and Co on a number of occasions (for drinks) our experience last night was extremely disappointing. We ordered our bill at 9 15pm - 20 mins later it arrived. Over the next 45 mins the waitress informed us the card machine was not working and they were trying to rectify this. After an hour of waiting (and missing our trains home) we were told either we walked to a cash machine (one at a time in the pouring rain) or we handed over all our card details, names and home addresses. The latter we were not comfortable giving to a stranger. After being given the wrong address for the nearest cash machine we eventually found one - 1.5 hrs delayed.Whilst it is understandable the card machine breaking is no ones fault the way we were treated (not even offered a glass of water when we waited) and still trying to make us pay the service charge was something I have never experienced before. Other people in the restaurant were simply walking out without paying!Awful customer service.

The atmosphere was great, we had our meal from about 3-5 in the afternoon and it didn't become too busy which was lovely. However one complaint I have is how close together the tables are, it's a bit too close for comfort. Moreover despite there not being many people within the restaurant, the service was reasonably slow (not with food arriving, that was very quick. But to have our food taken away etc). Despite this, the staff were extremely friendly and lovely to talk to. I highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to return to try out their breakfast menus and other dishes!!

Had brunch at this bar, that I'd had evening drinks at before, last Sunday, and the food, service, and ambiance were all great! Also excellent value for money - portions were huge. That said, drinks were expensive, the hot chocolate was nearly £4, which you don't expect to pay even in central london!

This restaurant is very well located close to Regent's Street in Central London and with some tables outside for a meal, specially on a sunny day. The food is very good and the service excellent. We found it while walking around and we had brunch outside. It is a lovely place. However the tables are on the walking side and it can get quite busy with tourists walking by. The prices are reasonable for a prime location. We were four and the total bill was £78 with brunch, drinks and coffees.

Me and my girlfriend were here for three days in a row during mid-morning for breakfast and once in late afternoon for drinks and snacks. Our breakfasts were great, both the traditional British one and the sweet french toasts. Note that we are not easily satisfacted customers and we are very picky with our bars and restaurant choices. Drinks are really nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and vibrant at the same time. Staff were super-friendly and kind. A must return for next visits to London.

My friend is in a show currently playing at the Palladium and so we frequently meet him at Central, as it is next to the stage door. The bar seems to be popular with casts and crew working at the theatre, and is a very nice place for late-night drinks. It's always busy, but not crammed, and there is plenty of seating, including some outside, overlooking Liberty and Carnaby Street. I believe there is a private area downstairs. I have always found the staff to be polite, friendly, and upbeat, and the drinks are good value. It is that rare thing: a centrally located bar/restaurant that is neither gimmicky, tasteless, nor overpriced.

I love this place - the surroundings are great, and it has a nice chilled vibe. I usually come here with friends for breakfast. Food is always good, the staff are always friendly and pleasant. The only thing that lets this place down is the slow service, especially for drinks. You have to wait so long for hot drinks you sometimes have to chase them up... twice (if they arrive at all), and when your hot drinks arrive they are often luke warm. Overall, a good place to go for breakfast... as long as you're not in a hurry.

This has a stripped back kind of an 80s vibe to it with the exposed pipe work , brick walls kind of thing but pleasant none the less. Busy but not crowded when we went and very centrally located just south east of Oxford Circus, opposite Liberty and Carnaby Street. Steak / Club sandwich, £9.50, both very filling, glass of something sparkling £6.50, a bargain for these parts. Young staff, very friendly, will return.

Me and two friends went there for lunch last Friday. It was a bit quiet, maybe because it's new and still not known or maybe because we went a bit on the early side. The decor was nice, the service was prompt and helpful. The waiter suggested we order three small plates a person, which turned out to be a bit much. However, the food was excellent. We ordered two fried cauliflower dishes and they were superb. The two bone marrow plates we ordered were also excellent. The beef tartar wasn't that good and it had something to do with the seasoning. Last but not least was the langoustine and it was sublime. The crab salad was also delicious. It was only £20 per person for tea and coffee and nine small plates including service. That we thought was a great deal in this location and for such great food. I will go back!

We came here for a pre-theatre meal before going to the Palladium, and were very impressed! Central and Co has a lovely chilled-out vibe - trendy without trying too hard. The food was good and very generously portioned, and although we didn't try one, the cocktail and drinks list looked impressive too. Would definitely recommend the honeycomb icecream - delicious! Staff were friendly and attentive, and the general atmosphere was pleasantly laid back. Will definitely be returning to eat again, and also maybe just for a drink as the bar looked good also.

Beginning to hate the lack of granularity in TripAdvisor rating system as this place is better than "average" but I am struggling to bring myself to say it is "very good"! The service when we went (early Saturday evening) as very good but I can see how it could drop off if the place was busier as there only seemed to be two waiting staff. The food is OK, but nothing special and definitely overpriced for what it is. Decent selection of sensibly priced wines and some interesting beers. Yes, there was music all evening and personally I didn't mind it and it certainly wasn't loud enough to make conversation difficult (and I actually enjoyed quite a lot of it). Would definitely go again if I happened to be in the area and had not planned anything else but I think there are better places to go if you seek them out.

This may be a good bar (?) but the food is dire. Went on a work outing and everyone agreed that the food was poor, Asparagus and courgette salad had one spear of asparagus cut in half and two thin peelings of courgette covered with leaves and a few pomegranate seeds. Roast chicken was tasteless. Potato pancake was a thin crepe again covered with leaves - maybe they are catering for supermodels but we had to fill up on chips. Very slow to get drinks which were ordered after the food ?! Had to ask twice for our wine and then found out the bottle we ordered was sold out - likewise with some of the food, cod and octopus became cod and mussels. The place was empty at 9 so we skipped dessert and went on somewhere else. This place only survives because of where it is but I can't imagine it will do well for long as we will never return. I suppose tourists only have to go once.

If you need a break from shopping or you just want good beer in a cool bar/brasserie with nice outdoor seating look no further than 'Central and Co'.It's easy to find in the heart of London, opposite Liberty so it's close to Carnaby Street and lots of little shops/boutiques. The outdoor area is lovely, plenty of seats but not too squashed. The menu looked great but we chose not to eat. They serve designer cocktails (don't expect to find a mojito) and a good selection of nice and expensive wines (by bottle/glass), 'Volcano coffee' and a selection of dark and light beers. I enjoyed a strong beer called 'The Beast of The Deep'.Downstairs we were thrilled to find an amazing private bar, very plush, big brandy bottles, dark and gold furnishings - can't wait to look into booking that for my next party!Service was great and I will definitely come here again.

Me and my girlfriend picked the worse time to go for a meal in London, lunchtime on a Saturday. We couldn't find anywhere that had a spare table but we managed to spot a free one in Central & Co.We were relieved to find a table but we were very lucky to find such a nice looking place to dine in.The service was pretty good despite the staff being very busy. the food we ordered took a while to arrive but it was obvious why, it was being freshly made which you could tell by tasting it.Overall it was a very pleasant experience which isn't bad for a place we just happened to come across.

This restaurant/bar was convenient for a quick visit prior to seeing a show in the area. Unfortunately first impressions were disappointing. I had booked a table online earlier in the day and received both a text and email confirmation. On arrival they had no record of the booking and there seemed to be a lot of confusion about who to talk to about it. While I waited for my friend and the table, I sat in the bar area where I had to ask at least twice both to see the menu and to order - service seemed disorganised and not terribly friendly either. Once we finally sat down, we shared 4-5 of their small plates. The food was alright but nothing memorable - it's been over a month since I've visited and I can't remember a single dish. To sum up, an ok visit, but service was patchy. In a competitive location I would probably not return. To be fair, my friend mentioned she'd been here several times during the day and had always had a good experience.

my girlfriend and i stumbled across the newly refurbished cocktail bar downstairs and will certainly be going back soon. we were the only people there at the time so sat at the bar and enjoyed a long chat with the bartender whilst we had our drinks. he was not at all intrusive but we were very interested in the menu so were asking questions and it was all very well explained. he even mixed us up small amounts of free drinks to emphasize what he was telling us (eg. how you can make coca cola from bitters, sugar syrup and soda water). it is a great setting, great service, the cocktails are exceptionally well made and a bargain at £9. it is also a great concept - the different spirits are described by taste rather than the brand name; this place is all about the quality and taste combinations rather than theatre and pretence. cannot recommend highly enough and suggest trying a pisco sour

God, this is an appalling environment. Banging music which just makes people shout louder when all they want to do is chat! Why do restaurants think everyone wants to listen to their ghastly choice of music? We. Want. To. Talk, To. Our, Friends! If you can overlook the racket - we moved down to the deserted basement bar to eat where four of us were shown to a table barely big enough for two - the food is pretty much OK and the service attentive. But it'll be a long time before I revisit. Oh, OK then, I never will.

I popped in here for a (supposedly) quick lunch with my mum prior to a matinee at The Palladium next door. All I can say is, it's a good job we had left plenty of time before curtain up. We ordered a carafe of wine and two chargrilled vegetable, halloumi, rocket and pesto sandwiches... nothing too complicated. The wine arrived straight away. As for the sandwiches... we waited... we asked.. we waited... we asked... and half an hour later we were STILL waiting, despite reassurances that the food was just on its way. I was on the point of cancelling when the food arrived. To be fair, it was delicious when we finally got it, and they did knock some money off the bill without us even asking. We were told that the delay was caused 'by us being really really busy'... but what do they expect at lunchtime on a Saturday? I think this place has a lot of potential, if they can get the service right (and we were served by about 5 different people - one to bring the menu, one to take the order, one to bring the food, one to take the money, one to hear our complaints..). So it's a little disorganised but I would probably give them one more chance as the food was, in the end, worth waiting for.

Maybe it was the timing, a business lunch where the onus is on working rather than eating. Maybe the timing as the restaurant was almost completely empty at mid day. The food (in my case a risotto) was tasty enough and the portions adequate for lunch. Can't quite put my finger on it but there was something lacking. Almost like a cafe masquerading as a restaurant. Not a disaster but nothing to rush back for.

We found this restaurant after an afternoon of shopping on Oxford St. It's just next to Banana Republic. The environment is very modern and funky. We found the service to be very friendly, relaxed and quick. But the food is the real winner. We ordered the small plate of pork belly and it was delicious (though the skin could be a little more crispy) and deep fried goat's cheese. I'd highly recommend the burger. The bun was like the bagel style bread with good quality mince. It came with the fattest fries I've seen. My wife ordered the grilled sea bass, which was tasty and the skin had a nice crunch. The desert menu was a little small but the lemon tart we selected came with real lemon zest. The neighbouring table had the Eton Mess, which looked really enticing.Pricing is slightly higher than average but the service, environment and quality of food more than make up for this. Highly recommended.

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.

Fui a desayunar. Mucho a mucho. Este lugar no es para mi. Buen café sin embargo.
