Cattivo in Lambeth

The worst bottomless brunch I’ve ever been too. Myself and friends had a booking at this restaurant for a bottomless brunch. I am a coeliac so I rang up in advance to see what my food options were, to be told there wasn’t any over the phone, to then they finally said they could to a toast option. Once we got to the restaurant we put in our food order within the first 10 mins of our reservation. We were told they had run out of most of the options on the menu, even though it was 5pm on a Saturday. An hour and a half into the reservation we still hadn’t received our food, we asked the waiter why it was taking so long and that we simply couldn’t drink anymore of the alcohol as we hadn’t eaten (we were also told the bottles we hadn’t finished would be taken away at 7). At 6:55, 5 minutes before the end of our reservation we were told they needed the table and we were to pay the bill including the food that we still had NOT received. After complaining about the wait we were given a not so generous 20 minutes to eat our food and leave. They did knock money off the bill, but to say we were disappointed was an understatement, and the food was awful. This is not suitable for people with allergens at all, in 2023 it’s shocking that the only option I was offered is toast. It is not good enough that a ‘restaurant’ cannot cater to food allergies. Do not recommend!

Stated that I had a gluten and nut allergy. Told staff multiple times of allergy’s but provided reassurance so ordered truffle mushrooms on toast. This did state to contain pistachios, however told gluten could be catered for and the nuts would be removed. One mouthful later I could feel that something was wrong with the food. I’m anaphylactic to all nuts, and instantly took antihistamines as my mouth was itching and tingling. This for me is my early warning of a reaction. Staff took the food away, to then confirm pistachios were put onto my food and proceeded to have a reaction. Staff unhelpful and reminded that our booking ended at 6:30pm and they would need the table back. Anaphylactic shock can happen between 20 minutes to 2 hours after exposure. Not only is this about the anaphylactic shock, the mental strain and stress this caused on myself my surrounding party was horrific. Will not return and want to make other allergy sufferers aware of this

If you are looking for a lovely bottomless brunch in London then LOOK FURTHER. The food was DISGUSTING , the atmosphere was EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT and the customer service was BEYOND AWFUL. The food was horrendous, pretty much inedible. Even the dog wouldn’t eat it. Then, to add to the throughly unenjoyable experience, you get forcibly removed from your table 2hrs after booking, irrespective of if you have bottles of alcohol that you have already paid for, and no alternative option offered to you. Go to Wetherspoons instead, you won’t regret it.

We decided that a bottom less brunch would be just right before our Blossoms gig at the o2. Advertised as £30 for a bottomless brunch we naively thought that food would be included. Maybe our mistake . Too much booze to consume in 2 hours and the food was so disappointing. Needed loads of seasoning. I was also a bit miffed to be shoved out of the way by a busy waitress whilst waiting for my table. Not worth the money.

I was looking for a place to spend some good times with friends on a Wednesday night and Cattivo bar has exceeded all my expectations, we went for a bottomless dinner for two hours and some Italian shareers. Nick was excellent and made the whole experience. Thank you.

Went here for a birthday brunch. The toilets were full of sh.t and paper, urine on the floor. The place was dark and dirty and we got overcharged as the staff can't count. Another rip-off Instagramers dive.

I went to Cattivo last weekend for a cocktail masterclass. This was hosted by Nick downstairs in the bar area. It was great fun! There were 6 of us in the masterclass and we got to make 4 different types of cocktails. By the end we had 5 cocktails each to drink as well as a prosecco at the start and a shot at the end! We were first shown by Nick how to make the cocktails and then we got to take it in turns to create them ourselves as well as play games using each others hands and blindfolds etc. Nick was a great host and explained things well and made the experience fun. We had a fantastic time and recommend to anyone looking for a fun activity in Brixton!

Went for bottomless brunch, DJ was incredible, food was really good, I’m the awkward vegan and there was a good choice for me here. However, I know it’s London, but it’s £30pp for bottomless brunch, + whatever food you order, +12.5% service charge?! I ended up paying about £50pp in the end. Considering they lay your table out with all your drinks and leave you to it, you serve your own drinks, and they charge you 12.5% service charge. Really disappointed, this brunch is not worth £50pp.

The staff catered to me perfectly - I have a nut allergy and they were very good / considerate. Would 100% recommend to anyone who wants good food with food service!

I want to express my overall disappointment in the class. Firstly we were told that my event was double booked hence why we were moved across the road. A staff member told us that they advised management to rearrange but was ignored. The host was friendly however it was hard to hear him due to the noisy room. Being behind the bar was crowded and we were sharing with other bartenders making drinks for other customers. We also weren’t shown how to make the drinks sufficiently and felt like we had to make most of it up ourselves. It was hard to share the experience with others in the group as a result. We also ordered food which was poorly made and undercooked. In particular the chunky fries which were raw in the middle and were raw the second time still after we requested another set. Also the fact that we could only choose from four cocktails was disappointing. In fact we didn’t get many of the things promised on the advert such as a guide through fundamentals of cocktail making, competition, games, prizes, and we didn’t get a homemade Lemoncello at the end. In summary I’m extremely disappointed in the experience and felt very embarrassed for my guests that paid £50 and were expecting much more.

We had an amazing time with George the bartender at Cattivo. He was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us the most fun we had on our entire London trip. We cannot recommend this experience enough.

Had an early dinner with my friend who could not eat gluten but our helpful server, Nick arranged for her to have a gluten free pizza. The salad I had was plentiful, I would have preferred to have dressing on the side but it tasted ok. Nice tables outside with options of either sitting in the shade or in the sun.

We had such a great night at CATTIVO I had to share. Came with a friend for ‘one’ and stayed the entire night. Brilliant service, drinks and food (shout out to our waiter Nick, you made our night). Will be back every time I’m in Brixton.

Unexpected experience at this Brixton gem. We were served by a charismatic waiter Nick. We enjoyed our food and wine. We will definitely be coming back.

I had a dinner for 36 people for my birthday at Cattivo last Friday night. The service was terrible, we were given one waitress for the whole party who, by no fault of her own, was extremely under experienced and struggled to even take orders from all the tables. None of the staff could remember who had ordered what and whilst some people had to wait a really long time for their food, some people never received anything and then were told that the kitchen had closed. They left shortly after to find dinner elsewhere. Food that did arrive was very average. The staff somehow made out that the issues were caused by us and I spent most of my evening dealing with problems at all the tables and staff shouting at my friends. It was definitely not the fun, relaxed evening I had hoped for.
