Cathay Cuisine Chinese Takeaway in Glasgow City

Second time nipping in to get my dinner in the last few weeks. Asked for chicken and char su fried rice and asked for extra ham in it as well. First time they never added the ham second time they added ham but didn't put in chicken despite paying extra both times. Foods alright and it's convenient for me as it's near my work but it's not good enough to warrant going back again when they clearly don't care about getting the order correct.

Was walking past this shop at 6am on Friday 24 January 2025 and the amount of rats coming and going from under the shutter was unbelievable. I've now just passed by again at 11am on sat 25th and there are still rats coming and going even while the people are inside working. They must have an infestation within the shop. I've reported them to environmental health. I'd urge everyone to stay clear. They also have a birds nest lodged on top of their main entrance. Obviously hygiene isn't very important to them.

Food was cold en not nice at all very poor won't be back

received dry horrible food. totally different from what i even asked for, total waste of money

Got a lunch box today. Very poor. Taste was fine but portion size very poor. Very dry. No sauce not worth the money. Wouldnt rush back

Used to love the old Cathay Cuisine before the change of ownership, frequented there for years. Saw it was open again and called the number on Google Maps only to get a "This number is unavailable". Drove to the shop anyway to be told the number was wrong and the manager couldn't be bothered to update it. I was given the new number. Called again today for the first time since then and was immediately greeted by a rude man, who shouted down the phone because he couldn't hear me and said "it's loud in the kitchen, I can't hear you!" And then hung up on me... Move the phone. Close a door. Not my fault you're answering while still in the kitchen. Wouldn't trust them to make me food now, but definitely not a pleasant experience. Wouldn't recommend.

Always the correct meal and cooked in the time they say for you to collect. Change of ownership and all ok but the salt and chilli chips aren't as good

We ordered a buffet from Cathy Cuisine in Castlemilk for our evening reception at our wedding on 26th August 23. The food was fantastic, it was delivered on time and there was plenty of it, it was really reasonably priced as well when compared with others. There was more than enough for 100 people. Every one of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and said they’d definitely order from here again. We even had enough to share with the hotel staff. We are all really pleased with this buffet order, thank you 😊

Just had a chicken curry from this place it was discusten not even a hint of curry from it and it was so so sweet never go back to this place again

Was a regular here every week until it was taken over by new management. Won't go back now - satay tastes of nothing and the chowmein noodles are stuck together. Whole meal went in the bin.

Spend £110 on a take away for myself and family on Friday 14th July 2023! Can honestly say since it’s been taken over, the food we got is inedible, food was tasteless, like jelly and awful! Very very disappointing since we loved the Cathy’s cuisine for yrs! I called on sat morning to voice this to new manager she was unapologetic, not helpful and rude! Avoid as you won’t get a nice meal here!

Ordered combined meal for £10 and got food poisoning. My stomach hurts and I feel like dying. Definitely not recommend. Good way to commit suicide or to kill someone though...

Just received a salt n chilli munchy box and it's coverd in salt to the point my stomach hurts 🤮 so disappointed so much food gon to waste 😔 🤮

This place has beautiful sweet n sour chicken Hong Kong style it's fab with fried rice 🍚 xx

Just came in to ask for a menu but the smell of the buffet sucked me in. Wasn’t expecting much from food that was already out but it’s absolutely gorgeous

Ordered duck & onion and got onion with very little duck do not recommend!!

Had a lovely meal tonight. Still picking at it just now. Lovely lady who delivered it. Even in the bad weather still had a smile on her face. Will definitely be eating out of here next week. Thanks again.

Been a few times and every time I go it never changes, never fill the box, got 4 bits on chicken strips, 4 sweet and sour chicken and one chicken ball, absolutely horrid that u can’t even fill the box properly.

Best place addicted to there salt n pepper chicken and very lovely staff very lovely women at the front desk 👍

Bought 3 buffet boxes here on Friday night & every 1 of them got put in the bin 😭 food had no flavour considering what we got, the chicken curry was watered down & could tell it was the curry mix from butchers that was used, the shredded chicken in sauce was terrible 😭 totally disappointed as waited for them to reopen as food was always amazing. Won't go back now

Just ordered 3 meals from here and after a couple of bites realised the chicken was off, called to complain and they had the cheek to offer a replacement but no apology! Got money back and wont be ordering from here again. Since learned a few other people we know have had food poisoning from this shop. Please beware. Only given 1 star because I cant give 0.

Bad customer skills, picked up food earlier realised we lifted someone else's order by mistake took the item back and the woman behind the counter was not understanding and basically accused us of stealing we never got the chance to explain it was very embarrassing at the time.

The food is in hotplate for more than 1 day just before closing I was in and the sweet and sour dish was half full and I went in the next day and the curry had a skin on it and she just stirred it and the sweet and sour dish was still half full and she said I would need to wait for lunch time specials I was told come back in 10 min get chicken balls or onion rings they where the only thing made fresh

Closed by immigration.. Has now reopened.

Terrible experience here. Order was wrong trying to explain this to the woman at the counter she was a disgrace blaming me for her taking order wrong embarrassing me Infront of other customers completely mortified staff need to go on a customer service course. Will definitely not be back again.

Order from shop all time but disappointed today ..ordered cream of chicken soup more like wallpaper paste. Called and shop tells me they don't have justeat I have to phone them ?? Lady on phone unhelpful and just wanted me off phone.. was on phone for less than 3 mins. 1 star for waiting time on busy day but won't order from them again

Got a good cathay cuisine yesterday with the correct order but tonite i ordered the same thing and they ended up giving me the wrong thing, only want a medium snack box with chips, chicken strips and chicken balls and they ended up putting curry sauce on it!!! Ragin
