CATCH Fish & Chips - Netherlee in East Renfrewshire

Ordered the Louisiana Burger + Chips. The photo shows + describes as a Brioche Bun+ shows an oblong Torpedo shaped Brioche Bun. It also looks as though there is 2 Chicken Strips. When it came it was 1 (Decent sized) Strip on a round soft breakfast style roll. The batter was not crisp but soggy. Even the parts not covered in sauce or cheese. + it was all barely look warm. The chicken was bit slimy + stone cold. So I binned it + ate the chips which were a bit cold but edible. However if I'd wanted to be charged nearly £11 for a portion of chips. Would have gone to 4* Hotel not a local

Whilst the food was tasty the price for what we received was ridiculous. Ordered a regular fish supper as opposed to a small fish supper, but you tell me is this worth £12.95 and if this is a regular fish (biggest fish they do) what does a small fish look like?

I ordered a large bag of chips on Saturday, which cost me £5.10. I was disappointed to get home to discover the box was only half full and the portion was much, much smaller than I’d expected, certainly for this price. On a previous visit I was charged more than what I’d expected for my order. It turns out the prices had gone up but none of the menus on display reflected this increase. I suggested the price on display should be honoured and, after some discussion, it was. This is a local chippie I’ve recommended and come to for years but more recently there seems to have been a jump in prices and a dip in quality. I’d consider going elsewhere. If you were to offer me a voucher towards a future order, I’d gladly return to be proven wrong.

I thought I’d try Catch from my usual chippy, as I’d heard good things about it. However, this will be my last time. I ordered a haddock supper, that I thought was very high in price, but hoped that this reflected the quality. The chips were extremely dry, and looked as if they’d been sitting there for some time, then put back in the fryer and had lots of those little pieces of over fried crispy potato bits in the portion. The fish was below average and the batter was far too thick and overdone. The fish fillet was quite thin as well, not a nice meaty fillet which along with the thick batter made it even less palatable. I’ve posted photos, but not sure if they will show just how bad this meal was. I will be going back to my usual chippy in future. Very disappointed.

Placed order for fish and chips, one piece of fish or two I was asked) by the inexperienced lad who was serving ……I went for two pieces and we would share. Honestly, the one piece of fish must have been cut down the middle and served as two as it was so skinny. The fish taste was pretty average and overall extremely overpriced. ( I believe the fish are all weighed to the same weight). The chips were awful. All in all if I had gone 5 minutes up the road the chippy there is so much better. Staff are friendly/food is better and better value for my hard earned cash. Sadly I definitely won’t be going back.

I’m extremely disappointed as I have just ate half of a fish supper before noticing that there is a dead woodlouse in my meal. This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. It is a breach of health and safety. I do not recommend.

If your passing come here!, Its maybe not the cheapest or the best fish and chips I've ever had but its still good.

Great chippie, food is excellent and staff are friendly. Both daughters are coeliac and if you contact by phone they will do a gluten free version of the kid's fish supper which is perfect. Everything is always nice and crispy with no grease. The gluten free options are not just passable like in most places but are on par or even better than the regular meals. Girls very happy that they are now able to have fish and chips. I've seen some comments saying that it is expensive but you do feel like you are getting much better quality.

Chicken burger has been made to perfection. Amazing. Have taken a chicken burger tuned it to the next level.

Had heard good things about catch and hadn’t had a ‘chippie’ in a while so gave it a go. Staff were good and service was quick, got a fish and sausage supper. Both were good quality with decent amount of chips. However, it was over £14 for a fish supper and sausage supper which is in my book extortionate. I would hesitate to return given the price.

yesterday I ordered 3 haddock and a medium portion of chips for home delivery. It took about 50 minutes to be delivered which wasn’t an issue. However, the quality of the fish was very disappointing, the batter was soggy and chewy instead of light and crisp. I only stay 5 minutes from the shop so would have expected it to be crispy. At a cost of £27.10 it was not what I would have expected from a more up market chip shop. I would not order again for home delivery and would not recommend.

Have had quite a few carry outs and sit in meals at Catch Giffnock and just a couple of carry outs from the Netherlee branch. The last one we had from Netherlee was really quite disappointing. The portions were significantly smaller that before and there seemed to be more batter than fish on one portion. The fish was nicely cooked and the chips were good, but not worth the premium price.
