Brilliant fast service, food was lovely and hot with plenty of choice. Two children eat free when one adult eats 😄

Didn't have food, but beer and people were lovely only there for an hour a quick visit

Spec for breakfast on the way to the airport Just off the M1 so perfectly located. The staff are very friendly, food was lovely and there's plenty of parking. We went at the end of breakfast and didn't feel pressured to leave.

Very good value for money. Rooms are spotless. Staff are friendly. Bar area is nice and relaxing. Swimming pool and leisure available.

Great food, visit every weekend, provide great gluten free options, don't have to wait ages. Really recommend this place for food.

The only criticism we had was the portion size on the meal deals, some people on the table next to us had the same dishes as some on our table and their portions were much bigger than ours. So although it seems great value you're actually getting less for your money. Breakfast was great though and staff were amazing.

I visited here this afternoon with my sister and little boy. In the politest way possible, we were really pleasantly surprised and impressed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate off the daytime menu where we had two main meals for £12 and a three course meal off the children’s menu. We then decided to go back and have some dessert because the mains were so nice. The entire bill came up to £23 and it was really tasty, especially for the price. We look forward to returning! 😊

Ordered a plaster with steak,everything was ok,but I couldn't eat the steak,it was so tough and chewy,I told the waitress when she came for the plates,she said sorry,that was it, not happy

Restaurant was quite busy but the staff were amazing served by Emma and above and beyond to help :)

We had the carvery, good choices, plenty on offer. We were not offered table water and the atmosphere was very noisy.

Great place for a buffet breakfast. Huge choice of hot and cold items. Great value for money. The staff are very welcoming and efficient.

Been for a carvery today it was lovely , the staff were brilliant and nothing was to much trouble . Deffinatly recommend will come again.

Gorgeous food, lovely friendly staff

Food was OK, except the chips which neither me nor my friend ate. Didn't like the cheesecake either it tasted powdery and we didn't finish it. Service was quick and the staff were very pleasant.

Mid food, mid service and way way too noisy where we sat. Food came out fairly quickly but wasn't anything special, I had the smothered platter and was expecting something mega but it was just 'ok', I know it's a pub for kids and families as its got a play area but young kids shouldn't be running and screaming through the main pub area.(I've got 3 lads) so know how they are sometimes but still it was way too loud in there whilst your trying to have a meal. Nobody came to ask how the food was probably a good job as it wasn't that good. Overall 2/5. Staff were pleasant just not attentive.

My family eat here frequently, we celebrate birthdays here, enjoy their breakfast & go just for the sake of a lovely meal. Our last visit was made extra special by Sam who went above & beyond for us. She greeted me at the till like I was a friend, instantly made me laugh & continued to entertain all of us each time she walked past us. Sam is absolutely amazing. All of the staff are awesome, we love visiting Castlewood.

A joint review for Emma and Sam on front of house and Shaun in the kitchen. Been staying here for 6 months regulary for work and always have the best service, friendly staff and great food. I'm fussy with my steaks and there was no issue in my requests to a change on platter meals and pay extra attention to a good rare steak. Perfect. Highly recommended and always a pleasure to be here during business travels. Thanks

This is a very busy place with an outdoor playground. Staffed well, was fully booked when we came. We would definitely come here again.

Had a wonderful breakfast at Castle Wood (Brewers Fayre)! It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet with everything you could possibly want to kickstart your day. There’s a great selection of hot food, plus cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, croissants, and even pancakes! I’m a tea lover, and my husband is all about the coffee – both were refillable, which was fab. We were greeted by the lovely Gemma, and Tori and Wayde were also incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home. We went on a Tuesday, and it was pleasantly quiet, which made for a nice relaxed morning. Highly recommend if you’re looking to fill up before tackling the day ahead!

Just popped in for a quick drink and to use the kiddies play area. It was clean and well supervised.

Nidle place. Food portions a little small in comparison to green king. Staff friendly. Good value on soft drinks.

We nipped in for lunch and for the kids to play in the softplay area. Food was lovely and quite quick service. Staff were all polite and helpful.

Food is lousy nothing good to say the only redeeming thing is breakfast. The beer is flat. If your staying in the Premier Inn do yourself a favor and walk over to the Holiday Inn the food is better especially their specials

Desperate for breakfast so called in here. Cold beans, cold eggs, black pudding soggy and broken up as were the hash browns. Won't bother again. Expensive for what you got and the quality of food

First time visit. All you can eat Breakfast was amazing, all staff were lovely and friendly. Good coffee. Very much enjoyed and highly recommend

Went for a meal on sat August 18th. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Went to order food and was queuing for around 10-15mins. Staff were walking by the queue and ignoring us. After a 30min wait for 2 jacket potatoes they arrived on one plate and with a jug of gravy instead of coleslaw. Tbf they swopped the coleslaw quite quickly and brought the extra plate. . Then they came over mid meal and asked for the difference in price which was only 80p... I said so we have to pay for your mistakes and she just said yes. Won't be going back ... The staff ignored us....the wait for food was bad considering the place was empty... Then they got the meal wrong and brought it on one plate and then charged us extra for all this.

Lovely pub and food was gorgeous but was a little disappointed with the menu choice, we went on a sat evening and the choice wasn't as much as if we had gone during the week

Visited for breakfast this week and was more than happy with the selection and price, basically you got the whole choice as if you've stayed overnight in the hotel. Cost us 20 quid for a family of 4 unlimited drinks and food, absolutely wipes the floor with Toby brekkie which used to be the best, sadly not anymore.

Went as a last minute change of plans, when ordering food for our picky 4 year old wanted chicken poppers with rice and curry sauce on the side instead of chips and peas, the server took our order not saying anything about maybe not being able to do this meal 5 minutes later the server comes back and told us the kitchen refused to do it for him, now they have all these other things with other meals on the menu but they flat out refused because they didn't want to reveal they microwave their meals to us, The kitchen staff need retraining if they are simply unable to swap chips for rice

Children’s soft play party on a Saturday morning. Sarah was great! Taking the stress out of a children’s party! She set the table with breakfast boxes, brought out the birthday cake, cut up the cake for the party bags and cleared up all the mess! A lovely party enjoyed by the adults as well as the children. What a treat to have a cooked breakfast- very easy as Sarah did the orders for food too. Plenty of tables available for the adults to sit and eat.

Quick food stop. Normal fare, satisfactory and at reasonable prices.

Regular visits with my family. Restaurant staff are very welcoming & friendly. Food menu is typical of this of type of venue, never had a bad meal. We use the play area often when we take my nieces, Sarah is lovely and attentive and keeps it very clean too.

Called in for lunch on Tuesday and the food was great hot and tasty. Thank you to Gemma callum and Taylor for being welcoming

The size of the portion was disgusting when you compare to the price. £13 for a sharing platter that was anything but. There is no way that's a sharing platter. It used to be so good and genuine value for money. Ridiculously overpriced for what you got. Thoroughly disgusted and won't be going there again.

Me and my wife had a very nice meal here mid afternoon. The staff are very friendly always happy to help.

Pleasant staff, midweek evening meal was tasty and well cooked. The adjacent Premier Inn and Holiday Inn means it is frequented by business types, not judging, just saying, so can be a little matter of fact feel

20 minute wait at the bar to order, after ordering told “oh by the way it’s a 45 minute wait for food” Cheers youth, you’re not busy, it’s half full at best, why are you totally unprepared for customers?

The barman had hay-fever which apparently affected his ability to serve me with only yes or no answers. All a tad strange. What I figured out though is that Sunday mornings are self service for coffee. It's not quite what I would have liked but it served its purpose.

Me and my family went to the Castlewood for breakfast this morning. We was greeted by the lovely Callum. Breakfast was lovely and hot and was a very good arrange of things. Will for sure be coming back!

The staff are always helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them when helping or advising, the food is always hot and cooked to perfect.

I came in a wheelchair with my son we went outside to play on the park area. The floor was messy on observation. All the umbrella were down offering no shade. My sons mum figured out how to put one up. The food was spot on although no cutlery was brought out and drinks were good too

Went for a Father’s Day meal with my kids. My eldest daughter who is autistic really struggled with how busy the play area was. Jennifer who was the member of staff in there was amazing with her and went out of her way to make her happy and feel not so overwhelmed. Amazing member of staff.

This place is the go to place! FOOD is great, service is great. Manager Meganalways goes above and beyondfor me and my family when they come in. Megan always have a smile on her face and always knows what I'm having before I come in.

We visit the castlewood regularly, there is no where else we would rather go. All of the team are brilliant, tonight I was served by Hayley who gave great service as always

Food and atmosphere is good,all the bar staff are really friendly but Emma went above and beyond,a real asset to the hotel, could not have done more for us.

Went in from the hotel f8ve mins after football had finished on Saturday night, stopped serving drinks at 10.30 without calling last orders

Food was lovely, chips could have been better. Kids play area was spotlessly clean and the lady supervising it was lovely and really helpful. Toilets weren't set up for baby changing, it was there just very tight and unfolded over the skin. Toilets could have been cleaner.

Went for dinner with the kids yesterday the food was apauling to say the least came out quite fast but somehow looked like it had been under a heat lamp since the day before partner had burger it was near enough black I had sausage and mash the mash was a solid lump more like playdough that was going hard as for the atmosphere the play area was not well monitored by parents or staff as there was a lot of older kids being very boisterous in the under 5's section making it unplayable not to mention that you have to pay to go in it

Went for a family occasion, there were 10 of us , service was very good , staff are lovely , food not so good unfortunately, I had the Hotdog and it looked like it was nuked to death ,the bun was like rubber , I would go again may have been a one off situation, well done to the staff they work hard and run around making everyone happy , but they need to take more care what they send out from the kitchen ,

Great carvery with a good choice of meats and veg

Celebrating our nephews birthday and got asked to join them for a meal, I was on edge all day! My Daughter is coeliac so she needs a GLUTEN FREE DIET. We bearly go out but they stated they had a gluten free menu so we joined them. What can I say, my daughter eat like a queen !!!! The chef called luke came and spoke to us reassuring us that he's the only one dealing with Allergies today and explained that they have their own separate cooking area in the kitchen just for Allergies.all the food was opened fresh out of new packets etc! Megan the manager & kerry went above and beyond for my daughter ,the food came out at the same time so we could eat together as a family and my daughters food was carried out separate but at the same time but only hers in the managers hands. The food was fresh and lovely , good size portions .first time we have been so relaxed when eating out .They are very clued up well hot on Allergies as they say. We definitely recommend these and will definitely be returning. Thank you all.

Great location with plenty of free parking and good access from both the M1 and also the A38. Located within the Premier Inn. Good menu with reasonably priced options, including a "2 for £11.99" menu (between certain times of the day). We had the Fish, chips and mushy peas. Reasonably priced and very tasty.

I eat here at least once a week due to travel with work so have eaten most things on the menu - tonight I craved just a steak and salad and that’s exactly what I got. The salad was fresh and varied as always but the steak was the best I have tasted in years - absolutely gorgeous! That on top of the fabulous service that I always get! Thank you!

Lovely food, great atmosphere and amazing service. Have eaten here twice in the last few days and each time the staff were more than helpful. Callum served us both nights and could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our night. The other staff were jist as friendly. The vegetarian options were lovely and I fully recommend the vegetarian burger.

Ate four meals here the last two days and all our group agreed we have never experienced better, friendlier service anywhere. The staff chatted to us like locals and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. Very family friendly with outdoor and indoor play areas and food is excellent and good value
