Castello in South Somerset

Had gone to Castello Yeovil for the first time as a big group with 4 kids. Sorry to say I am disappointed with the overall experience. Waiter service was poor. He was very impatient, not friendly at all and we could know from his face that he was not so interested to take the order. Hospitality needs to be improved a lot. Food was average in taste, but costly. Tiramisu was good. Ambience was ok.

We love this place; it is almost 20 miles from home so we tend to come to mark birthdays etc. It never seems busy in the week and the staff are always attentive. The décor is great too, gives a nice atmosphere. Our meals were really good, we were determined to have room for dessert so shared a starter of bruschetta, had pasta for main course and a really delicious dessert each. The chocolate souffle was especially nice. We will be eating here again sometime.

The restaurant serves exceptionally tasty Italian food. I had whitebait to start, and it was simply delicious. The pasta with salmon and prawns was also wonderful. The tiramisu was probably a mistake for the waistline, but not for my tastebuds. On top of all that the service was excellent and very attentive. Dishes and drinks came promptly.

We had a colleagues retirement party her, about 27 people, I already know how amazing the team are at costello and was delighted to share this experience with my colleagues 😀 as usual it was AMAZING from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left, the food was delicious, almost licked my plate but didn't cos people were watching 😀 would 200% recommend this restaurant for all occasions or just dinner x

What can I say? We were in Yeovil for just 1 night and restaurant recommended by hotel reception. Even though it was midweek, the restaurant was buzzing. Had a lovely welcome from manager who hails from Bologna. Had excellent service from staff and the food was divine. Wish we lived nearer, not 162 miles away! Thank you.

Great place, great food, great staff.

I have eaten here several times without a problem. I have coeliac disease so cannot tolerate any Gluten, unfortunately on Friday 19th July I began feeling ill with body pain before I left and by the time I reached home the bathroom was the only place I could be for the whole night.. Costello's wouldn't even admit that a mistake may have been made.. I will be uncertain about returning... Anne

Good menu choices. Clear what is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Competitive pricing. Clean and organised. Attentive staff. Pizza, calzone and risotto good, and mozzarella garlic bread. Tried cocktails, very good and Rose wine. Family friendly. Accessible street entrance. Good space inside. Local parking but no car park with restaurant but it is fairly central.

We eaten here often as it’s the best place in Yeovil by far. Amazing food amazing staff can’t fault the place. Great cocktails . We’ve tried several dishes and each time the standard is high. Cannot recommend enough

Right from the start when you enter this restaurant, you're greeted by warm welcoming staff. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service really is first class. Their attention to detail and professionalism are exceptional, not to mention the delicious food and drink. Would highly recommend this place.

Early Father’s Day lunch on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was quiet. Staff were very pleasant and polite. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Good generous portions. Very pleased and would recommend and will go again.

Excellent in every respect. First, a very warm welcome. we were shown to a table with a nice outlook. The staff were friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. There was an impressive menu with plenty of choice for all tastes, the food came promptly.......and it was so delicious! We were visitors to the town. If we were locals we would eat there as much as possible. It was a lovely evening and we really recommend this restaurant.

I booked a table with ease over the phone for our group of five (online would be my preference, but not an option sadly). Upon arrival we were shown to our table and looked after from start to finish. We ordered drinks, with only Peroni being on draft. We had bottles of Thatchers, which came with frozen glasses, a lovely touch. Staff were patient with our delayed ordering of food due to me being super indecisive; there were many things I wanted! I had the Pollo Romana, a fantastic dish which was beautifully cooked and presented. We were topped up with drinks throughout the evening, and bill splitting was a simple process too. All meal amendments were made without fuss. Toilets surprisingly big, and very clean. My first visit to Castello, and the area is blessed with wonderful Italian restaurants, but I will return here as soon as I can!

Not local to the area, we have come down from Glossop Derbyshire. Looking for somewhere to eat and passed this restaurant. Called in for a table, greeted and sat down straight away. Food and service was 1st class. The bill was £137.00 for 3 people, that was for breads, mains, afters, coffee and 2 x rounds of drinks. Which we thought fine for the fantastic food that we had. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning when we return down here.

Amazing food but the restaurant was practically empty and when I pointed out that we had been seated next to a hot radiator, we weren't offered a different table.

Shared a great meal with my daughter for a late Mother's Day celebration. The food was lovely. I chose pizza but had huge food envy for my daughters choice of pasta. Staff are very attentive, polite and friendly. Coffee was also the happiest I've ever seen. I would 100% go back andcalso recommended to friends.

We came here for a belated works Christmas do and it was absolutely amazing. We were all made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The service was excellent and the food was the same. This was my first visit here but will definitely not be the last!

Fabulous night celebrating a friends birthday. Although there were 15 of us the booking process and pre ordering good was seamless. Their communication throughout was excellent. The food and service on the night was also great! Definitely coming back! 🎉

My partner and I went to Castello on a busy Friday evening. We didn't think we would get a table but we did so all was good. Been meaning to try it out for a few years now and wish we went in sooner. The food was amazing and the staff was brilliant especially Jon. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks or our food, we both had the Sea Bass and it was the best we have ever had. No better place to eat in the area.

Evening meal. Excellent menu choice. Calzone recommended. Polite, attentive, efficient staff. Clean dining areas and toilets. Well spaced tables. No negative points although take care with the wooden decking access which can be slippery when wet.

Food was excellent. Service was top notch. Only criticism is they insist on everything being on 1 bill at the end rather than letting people pay for the drinks individually/as you go. Proved to be a nightmare last night for a large party of 20+. Slightly sour ending to a good night.

Recently had my daughter's 30th Birthday Party at Castellos Yeovil. We were a large party, the service was outstanding, food was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - even carrying the cake in for me! Highly recommend and will definitely be holding more family celebrations there.

This was our first time at Castello's and we were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious food and great service. Plenty of dishes on the menu to choose from and not too expensive either. If you are looking for great food and atmosphere, with great service, go to Castello's. This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Yeovil!

My daughter and I mistakenly arrived at this lovely establishment 15 minutes before they even opened for the evening. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. They let us us sit wherever we liked and let us use the toilets too. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious 😋 We will definitely be returning. Thank you 😊

Lovely, authentic Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere. Turned up without a reservation reasonably early on a Saturday evening and got a table. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We shared an antipasti platter to start with several different salamis, mozzarella, gherkins and bread. We had pasta and pizza for our main. Both were of a high standard and there was plenty of food! The kind of place where two courses are generally more than sufficient. We had a bottle of the house white which was also very palatable.

Pretty decent pizzas, but nothing mind-blowing.

You can eat well in Yeovil. Went there for our work's Christmas meal. We all had mains and desserts. Everyone enjoyed both their selections immensely. The service was attentive and efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Update, 27/01/23.... Work Xmas meal again. I had never before had a Calzone. For the uninitiated, basically a folded over pizza. A giant Italian pasty. I wanted to try one, but asked which was the spiciest, the piccante pizza or the spicy Calzone? No worries, they would make either as hot as I wanted. So Calzone it was. It was massive and very well filled. Very tasty. The food was great, and the service matched. Tiramisu for dessert. Well recommended.
