Castello in South Somerset

Amazing food but the restaurant was practically empty and when I pointed out that we had been seated next to a hot radiator, we weren't offered a different table.

Service was amazing - staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Food was great! Recommend.

Shared a great meal with my daughter for a late Mother's Day celebration. The food was lovely. I chose pizza but had huge food envy for my daughters choice of pasta. Staff are very attentive, polite and friendly. Coffee was also the happiest I've ever seen. I would 100% go back andcalso recommended to friends.

My partner and I went to Castello on a busy Friday evening. We didn't think we would get a table but we did so all was good. Been meaning to try it out for a few years now and wish we went in sooner. The food was amazing and the staff was brilliant especially Jon. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks or our food, we both had the Sea Bass and it was the best we have ever had. Great food, great service, and lovely atmosphere, we will be returning soon. Thank you all for a lovely evening Steve & Becci

Evening meal. Excellent menu choice. Calzone recommended. Polite, attentive, efficient staff. Clean dining areas and toilets. Well spaced tables. No negative points although take care with the wooden decking access which can be slippery when wet.

Food was excellent. Service was top notch. Only criticism is they insist on everything being on 1 bill at the end rather than letting people pay for the drinks individually/as you go. Proved to be a nightmare last night for a large party of 20+. Slightly sour ending to a good night.

This was our first time at Castello's and we were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious food and great service. Plenty of dishes on the menu to choose from and not too expensive either. If you are looking for great food and atmosphere, with great service, go to Castello's. This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Yeovil!

My daughter and I mistakenly arrived at this lovely establishment 15 minutes before they even opened for the evening. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. They let us us sit wherever we liked and let us use the toilets too. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious 😋 We will definitely be returning. Thank you 😊

Lovely, authentic Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere. Turned up without a reservation reasonably early on a Saturday evening and got a table. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We shared an antipasti platter to start with several different salamis, mozzarella, gherkins and bread. We had pasta and pizza for our main. Both were of a high standard and there was plenty of food! The kind of place where two courses are generally more than sufficient. We had a bottle of the house white which was also very palatable.

Pretty decent pizzas, but nothing mind-blowing.

You can eat well in Yeovil. Went there for our work's Christmas meal. We all had mains and desserts. Everyone enjoyed both their selections immensely. The service was attentive and efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Update, 27/01/23.... Work Xmas meal again. I had never before had a Calzone. For the uninitiated, basically a folded over pizza. A giant Italian pasty. I wanted to try one, but asked which was the spiciest, the piccante pizza or the spicy Calzone? No worries, they would make either as hot as I wanted. So Calzone it was. It was massive and very well filled. Very tasty. The food was great, and the service matched. Tiramisu for dessert. Well recommended.

We love this restaurant! It’s slightly pricey, but the food is amazing so it’s definatly worth the money. The staff have been lovely, helpful and friendly every time we have been.

My first ever time visiting this restaurant with my vegetarian friend and we had a lovely time. We didn't have a table reserved and the staff were very accommodating and gave us a table. The food was sublime with lovely Italian and Mediterranean cuisine options to select from. The restaurant itself had lovely lighting, tables were nice to sit at with a warmth around the room. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and warm. It has a nice open window kitchen hatch do you get to see behind the scenes of the top quality of meals being made and sent out to the diners and you can even get a take home option if you'reunable to finish your meal. This was a lovely dining experience I had and it would very much love to revisit.

I went for a meal with friends for my birthday. The restaurant was beautifully lit and not overcrowded. Six of us ordered different meals, all were absolutely delicious and perfect sized. The staff were welcoming, helpful, polite and professional. Castello’s really gave us a lovely evening and we all agreed we’ll be repeat customers. Felt I had to write a review because we all had such a fantastic experience there.

Lovely Italian restaurant near to the town centre. The staff were able to squeeze us in on a Saturday evening (having failed to book a table in advance). Food was just incredible, not overly priced but certainly great value for money. If you're local to Yeovil, or just visiting, Castello's is certainly worthy of your hard earned cash.

We were on holiday and got recommended to eat here by the locals. They were right when visiting Yeovil try to go here. You do need to make a reservation.

We were lucky to have a walk in table on a busy Saturday night. Good food, both the starters and mains were nice. We were seated in a very cold corner of the resturant and the manager (?) was attentive, finding heaters for us.

Went for my wife's birthday with our little one. The food was great as was the atmosphere and service. Its not on the menu but they do have smaller portions for kids, which is good. My wife's desert arrived with 'Happy birthday' written in chocolate sauce. We have been before and will be going back.

Our first ever evening meal for my wife and I despite staying in Yeovil numerous times and can only highly recommend. Great service with very attentive staff, great food and wine. A lovely all-round thoroughly enjoyable evening and can't recommend enough, we'll definitely revisit the restaurant again in the future.

Lovely atmosphere, and amazing staff! Food was really nice, but not special enough to justify the somewhat pricey options. If you are on a budget I would suggest that other Italian restaurants in the area have comparable food and are a cheaper option. That being said... It was a lovely dining experience. The staff were really helpful where there had been a confusion in ordering and quickly rectified it even though the confusion was mine! They were attentive without being intrusive. We were a table of three but there were two other large parties in and the place is large enough that they didn't overpower the atmosphere, the layout allows for it to not feel too big. Lovely outdoor area too which on a warmer night has a great vibe, with atmospheric lighting. There is no parking specifically for the restaurant but there is on street parking close by.

I'm really surprised that this restaurant scores 4.7 currently. I was really expecting a whole lot more that what it delivers. Ok on the plus side is a nice big space and the staff are friendly and helpful. I ordered the calamari to start and it was on the table in about 2 minutes flat a sure sign that it's been bought in preprepared and warned through. It was fine as such thinks go, but I was expecting it to have been battered in-house at the very least. For mains I had Penne Arrabiata. This was a pretty good dish but I would have liked the chillies to have been cooked rather than just sliced raw into the sauce. I asked if any desserts were home made, the waiter pointed to a few on the menu that he said were and I chose the classic Tiramisu. All I can say is it was very regular for a home made dessert and taste wise it was very bland. As tiramisu's go it was pretty average. This was a rare trip to Yeovil and this gave me no reason to hurry back.
