The same rooms are used for breakfast and for the Cast&Iron restaurant. Breakfast is good. The Cast&Iron restaurant is not superior to the Trophy Bar, just more expensive dishes to choose from. Also, they should have a dress code for the Cast&Iron.

The food is an insult to customers. Menu offered "penne pasta with spinach and rocket" for £15 with extra charge of £5 for adding salmon or chicken etc. I opted just for the pasta with veg as described. But at the order counter, cashier insisted on a decision to add the options offered and salmon was chosen. What came was a lumpy mess of thickened corn flour gravy over penne pasta with no flavour and not a strand of spinach nor rocket as described plus 3 pieces of smoked salmon forced upon us, at a cost of £20. No wonder they forced a choice as otherwise there would only be cornflour gravy and penne with nothing else to justify the cost! My partner's fish and chips were no better - fried frozen chips and over-fried battered frozen fish at a pricey £19 too. We were prepared to pay extra as the 'ambience' was of a country club setting but it is very poor service/taste to offer up worse than fast-food quality at your establishment. No wonder the review ratings are below average.

Really good service and good food. We liked the atmosphere and were lucky enough to get a table by a window so seen some baby rabbits was sweet.

The food was all surprisingly great, both at dinner and breakfast. Service was excellent at all times, warm and understanding. My only complaint would be the lighting and decor of the dining room for dinner service. It very much has breakfast room vibes.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Full range of almost everything - scrambled eggs and mushrooms both very good. No smoked salmon. There was oat milk and porridge. Plenty of space between tables. Nice and light in main part of room.

Hard to describe just how disappointing this restaurant is. Over-priced, poor food, mediocre service. Hard to believe a hotel of the caliber of the St. Pierre would even allow this place to remain open. Avoid at all costs.

Went for fathers Day, and none of us was disappointed. The food was really tasty, and I ended up so full I honestly can not fit anything else in. We can not comment on normal service days, but the self-service carvery was amazing. Will be going back again at some point. That being said, found it hard to find the place as they moved due to covid, so the signs were all wrong. I did have to ask a couple of times for water before getting it. Also, I had to ask a couple of times before we managed to get the order in for drinks. But I am putting that down to communication issues on their end, so that's why 4 stars. Staff were very friendly. Do note prices are higher, but I think the price point is about right for what was on offer.

Waited over 1 hour for the food. Staff were nice but poorly trained. Thr food was aweful. The medium steak was both very red and chewy. The well-done steak was full of fat. The fish was drowning in the sause so that there was no taste of fish remaining. You would only taste tomato sauce. We have been offered to deduct the price of 1 of the dishes, but I don't know what good £25 does when you have spent £300 for the hotel, +£100 food and your holidays and what you get is headache and horrible experience. Will not go back ever again and definitely will write to Marriote about it.

Extensive Sunday lunch menu Efficient staff Well worth a visit

Atmosphere was warmlyl lit & very comfortable. Waiting staff were attentive & courteous. Menu was really quite limited for such a large & iconic Establishment in this area & regarded of High Quality. Had to send my fillet steak back as was way overdone after my request for medium/rare, more on the rare side please. Steak was very thin for a fillet & not of any particularly good quality for the price being asked. This was then not charged for. Thank You for that. We asked for an Irish Coffee & told they had run out of cream! I think some quality control is needed on all levels.

Disappointing meal for the price we paid. The steak was very chewy and the desserts were flavourless.

This is a brasserie within St Pierre Country Club, now named Morgan's. It was very informal. We were quick to be attended to but things were slow to be delivered. We started off with a drinks order whilst we considered what we were having for our starters and main meal. It was a very limited menu but this was between Christmas and New Year. We were a party of 3. For starters we had 1 Chicken Liver Parfait and 2 Beetroot Carpaccio with goats cheese. They were out of the pistachio that formed part of the dressing so offered us walnuts instead. I was ok with this but my daughter was not so it had to be left off. The starters came over and we had yet to receive our drinks, which we raised and was quickly resolved. The starters were all tasty. I went for Pumpkin and Sage Ravioli, which was a little dry, was not sat in any butter or oil. My husband and daughter ordered steak each. It was advertised as without sides, other than tomatoes and a sauce of choice so they ordered fries and a portion of tender stem broccoli to share. When the plates were brought out, there were 3 portions of fries. Two went back. The steaks were cooked as per requirements. Due to the limited menu, there was nothing on offer that we liked for dessert. The total bill, including service charge came to £147.00. Whilst we were sat there the table directly behind us in the next booth had no end of problems. Wrong drinks were brought out and the main came and they had not even been served their starter. A couple on the table in the middle of the restaurant - the lady was sneaking a vape in every now and then - this should have been noticed by staff. Overall a disappointing experience. I have spent a little bit less at another restaurant had a much better meal and we had dessert in with that. We are unlikely to visit again.

Having read the reviews we went to Sunday Lunch with low expectations which, fortunately, were wrong. On arrival we were quickly greeted by Gemma who was warm and welcoming. The room is large but well decorated. The restaurant operates as a carvery on a Sunday and there was an excellent choice of starters, mains, dessert and cheese. We had the beef which was nicely cooked and an amazing selection of vegetables. The only negative was that the Yorkshire puddings were cold. I had the house white and husband had house red both were good. We came away feeling we had received good value for money and we will certainly go back.

After more than one hour waiting came a really small portion of stone fish. Really disappointing. It is a rip off indeed. The steak is mediocre as well. The quality do not match the price. Do not recommend.

Went on a business trip was only there for 1night-2days..what a lovely hotel ..i stayed in the blue bell room the bed was so cosy staff were like angels so friendly and welcoming..the breakfast ,lunch & dinner tasted divine I especially enjoyed the sumptuous salmon at breakfast I think. Only disappointment would like to have got to know the history of the place and stayed longer. Next time then--and maybe a round of golf to

Good service, good food, wide choice of menu. Being a family of six it offers a good choice for all. Self service all you can eat breakfasts good view over golf course and attentive staff.

The reality of the meal did not match the description on the menu, not at all what I have come to expect from the Marriott St. Pierre

Absolutely lovely evening service and breakfast room service. Highly attentive staff and food was great. Vegetarian options could've been more varied but the kitchen were highly versatile. Highly recommended.

Straight away I was blown away by the beautiful historic building that the Cast Iron is situated in! I decided to skip starters and went straight for the main. Within 10 minutes I had my food. I went for a sirloin steak with a side of halloumi fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and the halloumi fries were gooey in the middle and crispy on the outside. The service was second to none and all waiters were attentive and friendly. Thank you

Food was average and and a small menu plus a bit pricey the staff were friendly plenty of space between tables for covid safety but some guests seemed to ignore the face covering rule

Ordered the burger, was extremely over cooked in a stale bun with underwhelming fries, broken glasses on the table and the service was lacking, overall would not recommend

Dated restaurant with horrible carpets and furniture and zero atmosphere. Staff nice but poorly trained. Confused by what table to sit us at. Didn’t clear cutlery even though there were two of us at a three person table. Dirty cutlery and glasses. Food basic but fine, just not worth the London prices. Breakfast also disorganised, crowded and overpriced.

Really not what I was expecting at all. The menu is basic, which is fine, but the quality is not there at all especially for the price. Higher prices than London with low end quality and ingredients. The service was not great, not through the fault of the staff but by the management and training. For breakfast we were seated and then went straight to the buffet. When we came back our table was taken by somebody else. We had to order our tea and coffee twice. When it did arrive the pots were slammed into the table. Huge queues for breakfast despite having to book a time for breakfast. During our dinner we were moved from our original table because it was reserved for another couple. Not the biggest of problems but the restaurant was empty and we were moved to another small table of the same size. When we sat down at the new table the 3rd place setting was not cleared. The cutlery were not matching. The glasses were not clean and we weren’t offered any water. During the meal we were asked if everything was alright 20 seconds apart (mid mouthful). It may be a matter of taste but the carpet was really not great at all. All small things that add up and that do not justify their prices.

Lovely restaurant area and food, air conditioned. Food Is a bit expensive but to be expected at a hotel.

The food here has improved immeasurably, all the meals were cooked really well and now there are some healthier options. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Special mention to Deri, Kyle, Erin and Andre, all fun yet professional. Thanks guys

We had the set menu two course meal. I would put the standard as an average pub meal albeit more expensive. However service was very good.

We have eaten here several times over the last few weeks from the set menu and enjoyed the food. The service has been very good, especially Jessica, who was polite, friendly, fun and professional Look forward to the new menu in December! as staying here for the foreseeable future.

My husband and I ate at the Cast Iron Grill two days in a row. The food was yummy and the staff were friendly!

Amazing burgers & outstanding service

Had the roast ham and cream cheese sandwich for lunch. Two thin slices of brown bread clearly from a (I would guess) cheap shop brought loaf. A smear of cream cheese and two slices of thin pre-packaged ham plus half a packet of crisps for £7.50. Almost every shop brought sandwich would be better. In fact, next time pop down to Tesco, buy the sandwich, remove the packaging and serve it up. Sorry. Must do better!

Fairly limited menu but probably something for everyone. Nice cosy decor with muted tones. Lacked a little character but perfectly pleasant. Food very good, I had the trout fishcake with poached egg and my friend the chicken burger in brioche bun. Gin served well. Service a bit off, it could have been better.

Food good but not amazing. I found that too little salt was used in the cooking for my liking - and I NEVER normally add salt to my meal. Portions large - neither of us ate all our meals. Service was polite, courteous and accutate by charming staff but rather slow. The restaurant was not particularly busy at the time we ate and yet it took 2.5 hours for our 3 course meal. The cost was expensive for what we ate. Also, 12.5% service charge added to the bill which the waitress explained was shared by the waiting staff & kitchen staff. We would eat there again but would not rush back.

The fixed price menu had a limited choice of vegetarian options as did the main menu. Beware if you pick a dish from the ‘2 courses for £21 like I did, better make sure you like the deserts or starters otherwise one course costs £21. The waiting staff were more interested in chatting than serving and the grilled chicken gave my husband diarrhoea. Didn’t eat there again

A bit disappointed with the food and service here and as the other restaurant was closed this was really the only choice other than the bar. The menu sounded reasonable but over two visits I felt that the offerings were akin to the type of pub food that was served everywhere in the 1990's. Portion sizes varied significantly, The bartservice was slow both nights we were there.

Nice friendly place for a quiet drink on a weekend away.

The patio is amazing on a sunny day and their burger is outstanding. The quality of their menu is of a high standard, with the food to be varied enough to serve all styles and desires. Highly recommended.

Where shall I start.soup reminiscence of the Japanese pow camps during world war two.ordered four sirloins pull the plug on the lot when they struggled to reheat the soup twice still no joy .the staff were like the soup lukewarm

Absolutely gorgeous meal. Very friendly, helpful staff. All Our starters, main meal and sweet arrived at the same time and wasn't left to wait long for each course. Perfect place to go for a quiet meal or a relaxing family meal. We are looking forward to going back.

Food is pretty average, tho chicken burger was available the bun didnt seem fresh and wasnt great, its over priced food for what you get. Deserts pretty stingy in portion.

I was here last week on business nearby and stayed at this hotel. I ate out one night and had the burger and chips. The burger was well cooked and the chips were really nice.

Good menu and drinks options. Great overall value including drinks and wine and extensive menu options. Wine selected was not available but another more expensive wine offered at the same price which was a good touch! Would recommend highly!

If you want a good burger cant go wrong with this place

Not sure what the issue was - 1/2 full and the servers couldn’t handle the load. Sat down at a dirty table when several clean ones were open.

Ate two evening meals in this restaurant and found the food to be well cooked, well presented and tasty. The staff were friendly and courteous and the atmosphere enjoyable.

The food was good. We had a burger and the spatchcock chicken. The food took a little while to come and the service maybe a bit slower than you might normally expect, but nothing too bad. It was overall a good experience and would recommend.

We came out as a family tonight after a swim and the meal was very poor.

Food and service was good, but the toilets and sinks is in the toilets were very poor.There was no water in the toilets and therfore couldn't be flushed. No water in the taps to do basic hand wash. Hygiene standards therfore well below expectation or standard. Apparently, this is a reoccurring issue. Simply not good enough for a prestigious venue.

Overnight stop at the Marriott and had our evening meal here. Food was very good, nicely prepared, good quality and good size portions particularly the bread & butter pudding! Service was very good, would eat here again

Lots of nice choices on the menu but expensive. Looked promising on delivery, but pasta had no salt or Parmesan cheese. Very bland and greasy. Service was nice but a disappointment overall.

We arranged to meet some visiting guests from overseas here for dinner as they were staying at the hotel. It was a quiet Sunday evening and there were only a couple of other tables occupied. Service was efficient but slow. There was a good choice on the menu, which was priced as you would expect in a hotel like this ( upper end of normal). My cast iron burger looked very impressive but was actually tasteless despite the chipotle sauce, cheese and bacon which was very sparse! My husbands fish pie from the set menu promised much but delivered little, he didn’t think there was any fish or sauce below the mash! One of our guests chose a sirloin as there were no rib eye steaks left and asked for medium but this came well done and was very small ( he smothered it with hp sauce as was too polite to send it back). The bread and butter pudding tasted ok but had a very strange ‘jelly’ like consistency. All in all we will not be repeating the experience and decided to entertain our guests elsewhere for the remainder of their week long stay.

Hi enjoy a day with outstanding food or golf or leisure facilities or all three together. If you want to impress your partner stay overnight and enjoy the Welsh hospitality plenty to do and you will not be disappointed

Had food in the cast iron, whilst staying at the hotel, so menu had very good food options for a grill, I had the chicken shawarma and my partner had the burger.

We visited this restaurant on Friday 7th dec. We booked a specific table which was confirmed, the table was taken when we arrived. We ordered food and after an hour the waiter came and apologised saying the kitchen had missed the order. We waited another 20 minutes an finally the "meals" arrived. I had ordered sirloin steak at a price of £23.00. The steak was 4" long by 1.5" wide, without doubt the smallest steak i have ever seen. It came with a handfull of cress and 11 chips. Gone in 60 seconds. My guest had a burger at £16.00. Burnt to almost charcoal, he couldnt eat it. The ladies meals were very small but at least cooked properly. Very disapointing and expensive night. I wont bother again. I have booked Christmas lunch here and if we had not been asked to pay when we booked I would not go. I can see £200 going down the drain. Avoid!

Had an excellent spa day today at S. Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club. A very relaxing day. . A special mention must go to Elaine from the bar/waiting staff in the Cast Iron Grill. She was very welcoming, friendly, helpful informative and attentive without being intrusive. She had excellent interpersonal skills and appeared genuinely warm & friendly and keen to ensure we were enjoying our stay. She is credit to the Hotel. The food in the Cast Iron Grill was first class.

The food wasnt the best but it was quite nice. The steak was cooked well but the pepercorn sauce lacked flavour.

Had a lovely afternoon tea . Great scones, tea and a nice espresso. Although they didnt have proper tea cups (coffee cups).

Cast iron burger and fries are really good

Drove from Cornwall to take my 95 year old Grandmother for a nice lunch out expecting quality from Marriott brand!
