Gorgeous scones. Good prices. Not many establishments like this now, sadly

Been there for years. Today I asked for their lovely pea and ham soup. Wondered why it should accompany fish and chips??? Not good. That was no soup!

Not many places like this anymore. Home-made pie's Etc. The food is outstanding, the service is fantastic, It has a really great atmosphere

Great prices. Lovely old fashioned cafe, proper grub and service. Very popular, often a (quick) queue for a table.

Delicious food and reasonably priced

We popped in for a mini breakfast. The order was taken straight away, cup of tea handed to us and then the breaking, which was piping hot and delicious. The service and the whole experience made us feel welcome. The sausages were amazing, will definitely return

Been going here for a while and never had a bad meal. The choice of the menu is great, they cater for all. The price is good as well. The waitress and waiter service is very good, very friendly and polite. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Have moved into the area, and wanted to find a cafe which dose breakfast for a reasonable price, and must say I did. Had the mini breakfast and was just what I needed on a cold day. Food was piping hot and tasty. Will be back. Service very friendly. 👍☕️👍 sorry just finished 😅

Been here a few rimes recently. All staff are happy and helpful. Food is well-prepared and tastes great. Never had a bad visit. Alot of tables with a few booths near the back an a few outside the store. Cakes and pies, gingerbread etc can be purchased to take away from the counter. Highly recommend if you need a drink or meal while out shopping or passing by.

Great cafe, great food, great staff. Can't fault this place at all. We'll definitely be back.

You can't beat the breakfast here. Reasonable prices and I can recommend their homemade quiche and sausage that's also available in the shop 😋

If you want a proper decent café,, this is it. Breakfast or Lunch, eat in or takeaway,,, bang on local pie's, you can't go wrong 😋

Everything was good apart from the brocoli, yuk. Too hard.

Went here for the first time today and had a traditional English fry up and I tell you " it was absolutely delicious "... The wait is between 10 - 15 minutes but that's perfect to relax and to drink some tea. The cafe itself is clean, relaxed and a good place for all ages. The staff are fantastic too. I'll be definitely be visiting the place again

Lovely little cafe, there were two lovely chatty waitresses with glasses on, very polite, but one waitress with dark hair was extremely moody looking and looked very grumpy and looked like she didn't want to be there

It's had been years since I last visited but recently called in for breakfast.... been back twice within the week it's that good Staff are friendly, upbeat and welcoming, food is fresh and tasty and very very reasonably priced Think the fact that within me being seated,, nearly every table had been taken speaks volumes. Got the impression that a lot were regulars

Best place for good food when your on the go. The staff are always friendly even when in rush with orders. Super people. May I recommend the bacon egg sausage blackpudding on toast 😋 👌

Food is sometimes cold especially on breakfast

Not many eating places serve vegetables , which I love, but they do. Even small meals are enough as they look large to me.

Off the list as of last week. Now only got a very restricted menu. Not even a breakfast option. We were there at 1 45 and were told it was like that because they'd no kitchen staff. Not that it was after a certain time.

St Mary's arcade today ,lots of flies ,about also in window over food That says enough

Shocking service, went in on 21st May sat at table which was unoccupied, to be told by a scruffy looking long haird waiter that we could not sit there as the table had not been disinfected. However he in turn knowing this wondered off himself and left a disabled person struggling to stand in the middle of the cafe. The counter staff are also ignorant and acknowledged nothing to help my wife. This is very typical of St Helens people who have no respect in accommodation a friendly nature. Cassadras is very typical of a low class poor service. Anyway we finally a very nice bistro type place indoors which was more accomadating and helped my wife to enjoy her day, my only advice to cassadras is not have men ruling what should happen and have a more accomading woman who can resolve a problem. The fella at cassadras is not suitable to work with customers, maybe leave him to just wipe the tables and floors as he looks more suited to this.

Been comeing to casandras for years food always been good but recently the food is poor you will have to charge your cooks the food was digusting my wife got cheese on toast the toast was burnt and very little cheese I got sausage egg an chips and beans chips cold and eggs was over done won't be coming in again until cooks have been removed

Me and my mum love it in here. The food is great, the staff equally lovely and it's very convenient for the shops, market and parking. It does get very busy so be patient if you have to wait for a seat but the food, service and value make it worthwhile. You won't be disappointed.

asked for a chicken burger they brought it out 20 mins later and the "chicken" was thin and it was burnt it tasted like rubber not worth paying 5 pound 50

Really disappointed. Ordered a ham and cheese panini and coffee cost £6.50. It was like a crispbread, stale!! It would have been cheaper and better value to go to costa

Good food at reasonable prices. Go quite often. No loo though....you have to use the public ones in the market. I remember using the cafe loo up some steep stairs a while back but not ideal so the market ones are more accessible, especially for elderly or disabled folks.

Only nipped in for a brew, but staff are lovely and the place is very clean.

Independent coffee and food shop , nice coffee with a bite, scones where good as well. Not the cheapest to eat in nearly double of taking away. Seats inside fairly tight so to fully relax go outside

Called in today . Had a club sandwich. Firstly the bacon was all fat and white quite clearly not cooked secondly the chicken well what chicken there was 2 little bits on it and was hard at the ends and dry. Limp wet lettuce which made the bread feel soggy and to top it off was cold . I ended up leaving most of it . Should have really complained but I found the staff a bit rude when I was ordering after waiting at least 10 minutes and a further 20 minutes for food to arrive I just left .

Great food for price, friendly staff only prob is it's tiny, can be a little clostridium, getting coats on and off is a pain as it's so narrow

Im not one for writing neg reviews but its needed in this case. I used to be a regular visitor to the town centre years ago and used to always pop in here and was always just average at best but not worth complaining about. May be its new owners? I had a hot beef barm and mustard, barm stale, beef chewy, was just like the wafer thin rubbish you get. Staff almost threw the food at us after a 20 min wait and it wasnt overly busy. My wifes stew was barely warm. The food I can put up with but the staffs attitude was snappy and careless. " people behind the counter talking about a night out should be careful about the language they use, other people could be offended. Just looks like bad management to me
