Carib Vibes Bar and Jerk Grill in Cardiff

Very delicious food and nice staffs. Would have thought would be packed which is why I rated atmosphere 4/5. All in all, good spot, defo will be back there 🎉

This place deserves to be way busier than it is. Was served tonight by Audi who was an utter king and made us feel welcome and special, and the last guy that served me a few months ago was really legit as well. A double Spiced Rum and Coke cost us £6.50 which in Central Cardiff is an absolute steal and the chicken wings I had here a few months ago were really good, especially the mango and lime. Get yourself in here and have a double Kingston Gold and a burger. Especially if you've never had Carribean food before, a really good gateway to embracing the spice.

Only reason for receiving a 1* review instead of 0 is the owner was a pretty decent guy. Open mic nights you have to pay for aren’t OPEN mic nights. Open mic nights where only the same 5 people are allowed to get up aren’t open mic nights. Having someone who works at the restaurant snatch the microphone from myself after not even completing a verse when the “top 4” of the club never got interrupted after half hour sets isn’t an open mic night, it’s a scham, a rip off and a stain on the music scene. Everyone in there that night was stuck up, expecting me and my friend to carry on taking photos after being, essentially, thrown off stage without the chance to be heard is completely backwards Way over priced, would not recommend! Hostile atmosphere and disrespect from everyone except for the manager who doesn’t seem to run his own bar, the punters do.

Visited here on the way back to our hotel, just popped in on the off chance for a last beer. We ended up staying for a few, the vibe was spot on and the guys working were welcoming and spot on. Next morning we saw the manager sat outside as we left the hotel and he welcomed us in and made us some curry goat and rice and peas himself early, to set us on our journey. The goat was perfect, perfect to keep us going on the journey home. Thank you guys, the bar staff and kervin for being so welcoming and accommodating. We came to Carib Vibes for Father’s Day it was so nice to be somewhere so welcoming, friendly & with good music & banging jerk chicken. So good to see an independent bar & club like this in Cardiff can’t wait to come back with my friends to dance and try the bottomless brunch. Big recommend

Food is always on point here and Kervin always looks after you. Dj’s always supplying the best tunes every night of the week.

We were warmly welcomed with friendly service, followed by an authentic Caribbean meal with soothing music in the background.

Family of 4 all happy! Ordered curry goat, oxtail, reggae burger x2. Daughter said best restaurant ever. Food is banging. Music dope. Kervin best service and Tyler best cooking. Will deffo return when back in Cardiff. Cheers!

We got a warm welcome and delicious food. We're so pleased we took a chance on Carib Vibes.

We popped in for a drink and to potentailly have some lunch as Yates was closed and I wanted to see how the old weatherspoons looked after reopening as something else. The place was dark and dingy, tables sticky, looks like nothing at all has been done to the place since reopening.... I was one of only 2 tables in the entire bar. After being there for about 40 mins I went to the toilet, only to be shouted over by one of the staff members who were sat on a table by the bar asking what I was doing.... after replying I'm going to the toilet they shouted over we are not a public toilet?? Very embarrassing and absolutely shocking customer service, especially considering I was only 1 of 2 tables in the entire bar! I left and didnt use the restroom and certainly wont be returning! No wonder they have no customers if that's how they're treated!

Was visiting from London, didn't know this place at all, but was instantly made to feel welcome and valued as a customer. If you're looking for great service, excellent food and a warm ambience, this is the place to be. My ONLY regret is that I wish I'd discovered them earlier during my stay in Cardiff. I'd have absolutely no problems recommending them to anyone else. I sincerely wish you nothing but good vibes, love and success. Keep up the excellent work guys, I'll definitely be back

Had a meal booked for a 21st and 93rd birthday party at 7.30pm. They were bringing out one meal every 20 minutes. Three tables and people eating alone as they still hadn't had their meal. 10.30pm I asked for a refund as my meal still not had come. 11pm they were still bringing meals out 🤣🤣 Absolute shambles!!!!! Even the staff were embarrassed. The whole night the topic of conversation was where was the food and trying to figure out why it was taking so long!!!!!! Also said only 4 people can have a refund so some people were eating at 11pm as they werent allowed a refund. 7.30pm table was booked for mind in advance. Every one said the food was disgusting and it looked it 🤢 Manager is Kervin Julian who processed my refund on the 3rd May and I have just called my bank and there has been no refund. So not only did I not get my meal, I didn't even get a refund *****Edited as I can't reply***** The responsible person DID plan the event right as you can see from the messages that I have attched, YOU were told there would be 30 people on the 30th April. That is 4 whole days before the Event. You were also given the orders of people days before and 1 on the same day at 1pm so don't know where 4.30pm came from and 19 people. No you're not McDonald's as at least you would have been fed there. Everyone was starving and unsettled. Funny how you have blamed the organiser for the birthday being ruined when you're staff told us the cooker was broke and the chefs excuse was that she was not expecting so many people to order white rice At no point was my friend asked for a deposit or told that there could be a problem.

Very tasty food - we had the stew chicken / ackee and saltfish. Easily the best meal out in ages. We found it before the masses, I don't think it will stay hidden for long. Try the rum punch!

Shocking. Bottomless brunch. A shard of plastic in the food, rice and peas soggy, presentation poor, starters were 3 wings, no side salad or garnish, cod bites were batter and no fish plus no flavour. Atmosphere was poor. No Carribbean vibes, no music, no anything. They weren't prepared for our arrival. The cocktails were just made up and they poured just about anything in them, slow to arrive, and mainly juice. At £40 a head, I would expect much better. It wasn't like they were busy either, there was us and 4 other people there. Half the toilets were locked. Others had no toilet paper, hand dryers not working. Very disappointing. Two plusses. It's wheelchair friendly and the waitress was lovely and tried her best (it was her first day).

Nice Caribbean food here, Stamp & Go was crispy and flavourful nice. Curry goat and Jerk chicken were tender and full of flavour Also enjoyed the mango and lime wings

So disappointed when and sat down for a bank holiday dinner and never Evan touched my food my fish was freezing and tasted like a bottle of vinegar rice was over cooked never again!!!!!! Curry chicken was bland and had no flavour Was really shocked and it’s over priced would not recommend

Me and my mum went here to get some food today, I was craving oxtail for a longggg time. Ended up getting the curry goat as well with a side of plantain. This is the nicest and most authentic Caribbean food I’ve tasted in Cardiff, I’ve tried the other places and I’ve never felt satisfied. I always have to travel to Bristol or London if I ever want proper Caribbean food, but I’m so glad that you guys have opened as the food is delicious and I’ll definitely be coming back and telling my friends about it! 10/10 portion sizes too

Me & my friend went here on Sunday afternoon before we had to travel back to London. The Food was amazing and the owner Barrington was very welcoming. Will definitely return on our next visit to Cardiff and would highly recommend.

Hands down, the best Carribean food I've had in Wales. Authentic and freshly prepared. The owner is also a top bloke. You will not be disappointed.

Came up to Cardiff for weekend and came across this gem staff ate amazing and friendly atmosphere is so amazing and the food is divine defiantly be coming back to Cardiff for this place if not anything else highly recommend and cocktails are superb 😀 I'd give this 10 stars if possible

Newly opened Jamaican food joint in Cardiff, the food was top tier. Firstly, I didn’t expect a Jamaican restaurant would be so close but that place was good. The music lent a feeling of nostalgia. I’m an old soul and the music was a cross between old hits and modern Jamaican music. The chef was a yardie so you know the food was good. The prices were good, not to mention the presentation. The Mango Slaw is definitely something to be considered.

Spoken to the manager of Carib Vibes Bar and Jerk Grill. On Thursday very friendly and welcoming person. I am looking forward to having some Jerk and curry at this venue.
