Best food by far great staff and service

A fantastic find. In the area on business and found this gem. Great food, great atmosphere and made really welcome by Imran and the rest of the staff. Would highly recommend and if I’m back in the area, will definitely be back. 10/10.

My family & I have been massive fans of the Cardamom Lounge ever since they came up on my FYP on TTok. Having been based in SW London and coming from a family of avid cooks (myself included) visiting them in Barnsley was always on our minds. We finally got the chance to visit and upon entering the restaurant, Abz and his team, Imran (Restaurant Mngr) all front of house and of course the chef Mama (as he’s lovingly called by the team) went above and beyond to make sure our visit was an experience to remember. We ordered a bit of everything, and by far the best Asian Fusion we have come across, including the house specials and their general menu. If you’re travelling up north, I would highly recommend you add this restaurant to your itinerary! We would personally visit again, for not only the food (which we cannot fault) but also the warm, and generous Desi hospitality. Sincerely hoping the Cardamom lounge expands and opens up in London, we will for sure be regulars!

Went today as I had seen some of their recipes cooked . Couldn’t have had a warmer welcome than we did from Ahmed . The food was all delicious and the restaurant warm and comfortable. I would definitely recommend a visit there

Food fantastic as usual, service very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Sorted my brothers gluten allergy brilliantly ensuring all dishes were safe with no contamination. Overall 5/5, best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to.

We went last night as a party of 6, and we were all impressed with the cardamom lounge. We all had poppadoms, pickles, a starter, mains and sundries and everyone said how amazingly nice their food was. Two of the party took their own booze, which is allowed and there was plenty of variety of soft drinks available from the bar. The place itself is very clean and had a very nice ambience. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and couldn't do enough for you, which made for a lovely, welcoming experience. But, the food, wow!! It was absolutely phenomenal - I honestly can't believe we have never been before and we all said that we can't wait to go back. The only downside was the lack of parking - you have to park on the main road. However, it's also situated on a Very busy bus route so, it's easy to get to and convenient. It is was that nice we are thinking of going for Xmas day. Thank you to the cardamom lounge for some of the best food we have had in a long time.

Our first time trying last night and we will be using cardamom lounge for any future indian food orders, the service and quality and flavour of the food was absolutely phenomenal, so fresh and well prepared so thank you and we look forward to next time!

Staff are lovely, restaurant looks very nice. I ordered prawn karahi, the flavour is really good however the curry is full with onions, not much curry/lots of big pieces of onions… Next time I order will ask for less, apart from that/really good:)

This is an amazing place for family's to visit. My 9 year old just asked me to leave a 5 star review he was so happy and doesnt usually like eating out . The staff were amazing and polite and the food was delicious.😊

I have just been here with my friend of neville avenue sir Dave Johnson. I enjoyed every last bit and couldnt think of a negative thing to say. My freind sir johnson on the other hand felt violated by the price point as your competitors offer a lot more, for a lot less. In his words of corse. And something about his naan bread felt like a pizza base. I wouldnt know, i was too busy tucking into my onion barji and watching the darts! 180

We ordered from here for first time in a while it was amazing food can’t fault that at all however, we spent 33 quid for 2 people on this takeaway and the naan bread was soo small (you’d need two of them) and the curry was not really full of chicken or potatoes as you’d expect for 10 pound a curry

Wow. What an amazing night! Went for the first time with my partner and we really enjoyed it. Loved the food, the atmosphere and the service. Can’t believe it’s the first time we’ve been. We will 100% be coming back regularly and also with the our neighbours! Such a lovely evening.

From the moment you step in the ambiance is inviting with elegant decor and a warm atmosphere. The dinner was delicious, served hot, and arrived on time. The menu offers a delicious selection of foods that are all well prepared and infused with real flavours. Whether you enjoy eating traditional Indian food or are looking to try something different. The friendly staff complements the whole experience. Very good manners and very respectful. Abz was a gentleman and really respectful while taking our order. took our order, and ten minutes later the food was on the table. Excellent service! As far as food is concerned , anyone who knows the taste of authentic Indian , pakistani food would rate it zero..yes a big zero..very very bland food..no use of spices..in short u cannot call it pakistani or Indian food..it's like a pizza without cheese..and yeh cherry on top is over inflated bill..won't recommend any one who wants to eat pakistani or Indian food

Really felt the need to give feed back. 9th February we visited the Cardomon Lounge to celebrate a birthday. There were 19 in the party and the rest of the restaurant was full to capacity , even had diners waiting for tables. So you would imagine there may have been some issues to report but I can happily say there was no issues at all ! Everyone received exactly what they ordered. The service was as usual top quality as was the delicious food. How they manged to be bring dish after dish to a packed restaurant is beyond me. We'll done to every single member of staff you should be proud of everything you deliver.

We travelled from Rotherham just for a change of takeaway. Oh man it was worth the journey 😜 Amazing tasty food plus excellent polite staff. Everyone should give this quality place a try . We will be back for sure. It's cash only btw and bring your alcohol Kes curry was fantastic 😍

We booked a table for 8pm and arrived 10 minutes early. It was really busy, so we stood and had a drink whilst waiting for our table. After about 10/15 minutes another couple came in who had also booked a table. They had obviously been before as they stood chatting to one of the waiters. A few minutes later another couple who also had a table booked came in. So now there’s 3 couples waiting for a table. We stood and waited for another 15 minutes and then a table became available. The table was cleared and the guy who had greeted us said it was our table. Well no no the waiter who had been talking to the couple he knew sat them down at what should have been our table. Fuming! Clearly this was not fair so we handed our drinks glasses back and left. Appalling behaviour. We will never be returning.

Best Indian we have had in a long time!

Abz and his team are just great! We came here in summer and after seeing them TikTok all the time we just had to come back. The Balti tikka masala is just to die for, so many gorgeous flavours in one dish! We came on a Tuesday night it was quiet but by 7pm the place was full with some people who had even travelled from Doncaster. Cant wait to come again!

We came for a meal at the Cardamom Lounge for my mum's 60th and I'm so glad we did. The food was beautiful and there was plenty to choose from on the menu, and the prices were very reasonable too. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and welcoming, my 4 y/o daughter started to get a bit restless towards the end of the meal and the waiters kept her entertained and even gave her a lollypop! There's a great atmosphere and we will definatley be returning, thankyou Cardamom Lounge for the great hospitality!

Excellent Indian food cooked fresh on site by chefs that are that confident they can accommodate the many different tolerances out there inc Vegan. They even do cooking classes. This venue Isn't licenced so bring your own.

We have been coming to the cardamom for at least 6 years and it has never disappointed. Excellent food, excellent staff who can't do enough to help. I will always recommend this place to friends and family and will never ever go to another indian!

Did christmas day 4 o'clock sitting. Cannot fault it. Staff hard working and very friendly. Did me an off menu keema curry hot. Father Christmas running about. Good laugh all round. This is fith christmas dinner for us. Booking again for next year

I ordered a garlic chapatti as I normally love them when eatting at the restaurant however it came and was literally a tortilla wrap smothered in garlic butter, the wrap was really stale and hard due to being warmed up… also ordered cheesy chips which came in a paper bag, the cheese had literally stuck to the inside of the bag resulting in paper being stuck all over the chips

Used to visit before lockdown and during collected from the restaurant. First time back and amazing food , friendly attentive staff . We will make this a regular restaurant

Absolutely beautiful cheeky date night. Always usually have take away food from cardamon but it actually tastes so much better inside the restaurant! Such fragrant food, infused with all sorts of spices and herbs. Such a lovely chilled atmosphere. Staff are so attentive and friendly. Lovely ans local too. Thanks imran and his amazing team. Order took 1 hr and 50 mins. Had to call chase twice and was told that’s what it is on Saturday night!! Don’t take the order if you can’t fulfill it

Fantastic food for our first visit! I chose the garlic fusion, one of the chef’s specialties. It was delicious - one of the best curries I have had - and I have eaten a lot of curry! The other half really enjoyed his jalfrezi which was hot, hot, hot. We should have shared a family sized naan as we found the individual ones a little on the small size for us. Polite and courteous staff added to the experience. We will definitely return when we are next in the area. It’s a very busy place, so worth booking ahead.

Called in Saturday evening after reserving a table. Staff were so friendly and chatty. The food was superb. Onion bhai as a starter were lush and a meal on their own. If we come a k again to the area this will be the pla e we will come for our meal.

Delivery was very late and all the food was cold I rang the cardamon lounge and got the answer its very busy

1 of top 3 curry Restaurant in Barnsley. Fantastic service and friendly . Super fresh delicious Curry . Reasonably priced. The Mixed starter for 2 will be first order for our next visit. Nawabi curry with Garlic Naan bread was fabulous. The Biryani Lamb were perfectly cooked and spiced and Vge sauce was amazing . Worth to visit ..highly recommended Well done guys keep it up.

Prawn purée was not worth the money in fact for 40 quid I know food prices have gone up but not worth it …

Went with my husband and step daughter. Saw recommendation on Facebook and was not disappointed with the food and service. They was very welcoming and attentive. Making sure everything was OK. Just need to remember cash only. Had to run round to cash machine 😁

The restaurant staff were incredibly welcoming, guiding us to our table and promptly offering poppadoms. I gladly accepted, and within 5 minutes, we were served the most delicious poppadoms I've ever tasted, accompanied by a variety of condiments. After a brief wait, the waiter returned to take our order. I asked for a recommendation that offered a mild heat, and he suggested their signature dish, the Baltimassala. Despite being familiar with both Balti and Massala, the first spoonful of this Baltimassala took my taste buds on a journey to an Indian palace with its exquisite blend of flavors, spices, creaminess, tanginess, and just the right amount of heat. This dish deserves a spot on the luxury aisle shelf at supermarkets. Unfortunately, I'm only in town for a week due to work, so I won't be able to visit as often as I'd like, given that I live in Catterick. On a side note, the cheesecake was also outstanding. I will definitely be coming back but need to first convince the wife that a holiday to Barnsley is a must this year.

Great staff, great food and very clean restaurant

It's been a while since I last ordered from this restaurant but the standards are still high. I've not had a bad meal yet.

First time visiting last night for my son's 16th birthday. Service was excellent from every staff member from start to finish, they all made sure that everything was to our liking which it was. The food was delicious. We had the mixed starter for two (which we easily shared between 3) the onion bhaji was the best I've ever had. For mains, chicken nawabi, garlic chilli chicken and Bengal green chilli masala, two pilau rice and a family garlic naan, no complaints whatsoever, it was exemplary. For deserts, a Ferrero rocher cheesecake and a biscoff cheesecake, even though we were all full we managed to share these between us, again absolutely delicious. I would thoroughly recommend this place, it may be the first time we have been but it certainly won't be the last!

Biryani was much spicier than it used to be, and that used to from this restaurant (hence didn’t think to ask for it mild). Order it specifically for a person who doesn’t like spice so next time will ask for it to be milder. Other request for plain sauce was done. Other than that was lovely, couldn’t fault it. Butter chicken and saag aloo was lovely.

Just collected our first takeaway from here to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. A member of staff told my husband we would t be disappointed but sadly it was nothing to shout about which was a real shame. We had two chicken tikka masalas with pilau rice and a garlic naan with onion and cheese. The tikka masala was average and lacking the creamy taste you should get with a tikka masala.I actually left mine in the end because it was dry. I mixed it with a bit of rice but that just made it worse. No cream on top of the curry as it states in their menu which would have helped with the intense flavour and the lack of sauce. The rice was ok but the naan bread was really disappointing it was small, lacking in garlic and onion and there was no cheese in it or on it so not sure if we got the wrong naan bread. I wouldn’t choose to go there again sadly for takeaway. Maybe the restaurant is better. All in all very disappointed. 😥 Feel like we’ve wasted £30 on our anniversary meal. 😥

Korma was nice, a little bit watery but it tasted nice. The vegetable bhuna was way too hot, it said medium on the menu. We have ordered from here before and it was spicy but nice, tonight’s was so hot it couldn’t be eaten and ended up in the bin. This was followed by half a pot of alpro yoghurt 🥵

I Found This Beautifully Decorated Restaurant By Chance Whilst In Barnsley. Me And My Partner Were Staying At A Travelodge At The Time And Thought We Would Give This A Go And We Are So Glad We Did. It's a Family Business And I met The Nephew (Smashing Fella) And His Uncle( Brilliant Fella) And They Friendly And Helpful. Please NOTE Only Cash When Dining In. However It Does Take Online Orders. Food Was Excellent & Hot. Would definitely Go Back Again.

The food was cold and unrecognisable as to what was what. The mixed started was actually mixed together in a tub the entire order was disgusting.

Went for dinner here last night (13th May) had an absolutely fabulous meal. We had the aptly name Coalminers curry, with a side of Sag Aloo and Boiled Rice .. it was fabulous. This was our first time here but certainly won’t be the last....

Really substandard curry, chicken was grisly, sauce was greasy, neither of us ate it. Not sure who eats here, very very poor food.

This was one of the most tastiest curries I have ever had. There was a slight mix up with the order so I co tasted the shop directly. The service resolving the problem was absolutely fantastic, they brought the missing item witching 10 minutes and was exceptionally apologetic. I would really recommend this restaurant and will certainly be going back there.

Difficult to say about the food as it was cold when it arrived. Despite including detailed delivery location instructions. These were ignored, and we receive a call saying the driver had been trying for 10 minutes to knock on our white door to gain entry, We dont have a white door, which for a while the driver refused to believe. Eventually he did, but by the time we got our food it was cold.

Been here with my dad a few times in the last year. It’s our go-to curry house now! Delicious food, good value but the real draw of this place is the staff. Made us feel very welcome from our very first visit. Always polite, friendly and attentive, no matter how busy they are. Always enjoy coming here, I feel well looked after!

Unfortunately the food was nearly 30 minutes late and luke warm on arrival. No salad or yoghurt sauce with starters which was disappointing

Sad to report that our meal wasn’t up to usual standard. Curries were cold and naan bread was tough.

Disappointed with part of the meal we had tonight, which is unusual for Cardamom Lounge. I initially thought the wrong item had been delivered as the hint of spice in the Tandoori Butter Chicken was so strong I couldn’t complete the meal, it actually was far too hot for a ‘mild and creamy’ item on the menu. Looked like a basic base sauce too which again was disappointing.
