A delightful stay at Carberry! It was such a special experience to stay here - from sunlit summer evenings in the rose garden and grounds to charming and delicious dinners at the bistro. We truly hope we will get to visit again!

Stunning place, I had the great fortune to have my Drone training at this venue and the building was impressive to say the least, loved the library.

This place was amazing. We ended up in the room that the Queen Mother stayed in when she was visiting her sister. Spacious room - very comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and the morning English breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed a nice little hike around the grounds prior to breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here this week for a couple of nights in one of the suites for a wedding. The room was very large, very clean and well maintained. The property is stunning and the grounds more so. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Certainly recommend and I will certainly be staying again in the future.

Staying at the Carberry Tower in Edinburgh was an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone, without hesitation. This majestic castle, dating back to 1480, is not only a piece of Scottish history but also a luxurious retreat that surpasses all expectations. The estate's landscape is breathtaking, with expansive views that invite calm and reflection. Wandering the grounds, we were delighted by the occasional sightings of local wildlife, adding a touch of nature's serenity to our stay. Our week-long visit was for a group conference, and every aspect of our stay was meticulously catered to by the Carberry Tower's staff. They were the epitome of professionalism—kind, courteous, and exceptionally accommodating, ensuring our conference went smoothly and every participant felt valued and well cared for. The castle's historical ambiance is palpable, with each hall and room whispering stories of the past, yet providing all the modern comforts one could wish for. It was everything we could have imagined and more, truly enhancing our conference experience with its unique charm and elegance. Whether for business or pleasure, a stay at the Carberry Tower is a remarkable escape into Scotland's heritage and beauty.

Wonderful afternoon tea for my sister in law's birthday. Set in beautiful surroundings. Only down side is that you need a car as not on bus route. Would definitely recommend it is full of history and staff only too happy to chat about it

This was our second time staying here. This time, we brought our children. Every time we visit Edinburgh, this will be where we stay! Right off the entrance was grand, gorgeous, and welcoming. The whole place is oozing with charm. We loved walking in the gardens or exploring the libraries and sitting rooms. My girls entertained other guests by playing the pianos. The rooms were lovely and well stocked! The staff was always super helpful. I loved the location, far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to Edinburgh for dsily visits. Although we've got a few years, I'm trying to convince one of my kids to get married in Scotland so I can experience a wedding here. Highly recommend. Will come back time and time again!

Nice property and location, but in my experience from 4 stays in recent times, not all rooms are presented to an acceptable standard. Serving & house staff do provide excellent service, but as detailed below, "management" have proved patronising, condescending and inflexible when sought to resolve issues. On my most recent pre-Christmas day visit in a group of 6 (mostly from overseas), our booking for afternoon tea in either the impressive drawing room or library (as per the website offer / promotion) was relegated to a table in a corner of the public bistro building, situated astonishingly right beside the toilet entrances when there was plenty of alternative space elsewhere in an otherwise almost deserted room....! Moreover, the female "manager" insisted that despite the terms of our booking and genuine interest, free access to the rest of the historic house (and garden / grounds) was not allowed, due to a wedding taking place at the time of our not inexpensive long-standing afternoon tea booking. No mention at the time of booking... We were definitely made to feel like second-class visitors - yet were charged the full price, with no apology or reduction for such a restricted offering. We are not encouraged to return. Caveat emptor.

Atmospheric place, peace and quiet. A perfect place for a weekend and relaxation. We were enchanted. I fell in love with the library (I could have one at home 😜). Good dinner, breakfast could be improved.

10/10. We had an immediate wow factor when we arrived, driving down the long, elegant driveway. We couldn't believe how stunning the hotel is. The staff were welcoming and efficient upon arrival, and we were in shock at how stunning the hotel is. Our room was small but cozy. It had a homey guest bedroom feel, very clean and warm with the most comfortable bed. We both slept brilliantly for three nights. Breakfast was lovely, greeted each morning by welcoming staff. Breakfast was cooked fresh and brought to the table with a choice of other bits and pieces to help ourselves to. The hotel is full of charm and character with so many different rooms to explore. My boyfriend and I felt like we were in the Saltburn movie. 😂 The only thing missing from our room was soap; everything else was perfect! We would 100% stay again. Thank you!!

We had our wedding at Carberry Tower in January 2024 and it was so magical! The setting was gorgeous, the rooms, the chapel and reception room were all stunning. The food and drinks were fantastic and the whole wedding package was very reasonably priced. The team at Carberry were very accomodating and flexible with changes along the way and really looked after us while we were there! We will definitely be back to visit soon!

Man I really wanted to like this place but it just continued to let us down and was kind of a bummer since we were ending our honeymoon here. There were some positives: the estate is gorgeous and the grounds are really beautiful. There are lots of walkable trails on the property which we took full advantage of. Another positive was the food in the bistro was pretty good and the wait staff in there were very kind and friendly. Now to the not so positive, starting with the room. Our room was very small and cramped (I get it, it’s an old property, we paid for a standard room) but the carpets and furniture were stained. There were cobwebs all over the place and dirt and fingerprints all over the mantel and furniture. It honestly felt so grimy and gross in there. I get “old time charm” and all that but this place was genuinely just not clean. The shower was FULL of black mold, to the point where we just didn’t even want to bathe in it, and the sink didn’t drain. The bed was rock hard (genuinely felt like we were sleeping on a plank of wood) and honestly we just didn’t even want to spend time in the room because it was so miserable. Our room also overlooked a courtyard area where the employees like to hang out (at all hours of the day) and one evening they were even out there at 11pm playing music, singing, smoking, etc. it was pretty miserable to be honest. Also of note is that we got the vibe from some of the staff here that we were an annoyance or bother anytime we had questions. We got brushed off a few times when we made inquiries and another time were genuinely pushed out the door (and I mean literally) when we were trying to return for dinner reservations because they were “dealing with another party”. We weren’t trying intrude or butt in, we literally were just walking in and got ushered away. It really made us feel awful and made us feel like other guests were more important to them than us. I understand that maybe they were overwhelmed with a large party before us, but they didn't need to send us off or push us out. Overall, just not a great experience. Giving it the extra star because the property is beautiful and the food was decent but honestly, we wouldn’t return here.

We recently had a wedding at Carberry Tower. A stunning spot with a great team who go above & beyond for their guests. The rooms were beautifully appointed with comfortable beds. The historical notes in the room were a great point of interest. The food was outstanding. Obviously, it is a very talented kitchen team that takes pride in the quality, taste & presentation of the food on offer. Lovely little nooks to disappear with a cup of tea or a gin & tonic. Such a rich history on top of all the items mentioned above makes Carberry Tower a must. 👌
