The most wonderful kind and welcoming owner. We had a large order and while we waited he gave us two small portions of spicy chips. Which were wonderful. We was also gifted some drinks and sauce. As always we will be returning. Thank you for such fantastic service.

This is hands down THE BEST CHIPPY IN LONDON!!! Been going here for 13 years now, ive tried the other alternatives when captains was closed and they all slack. Whethere its soggy xcessivelt oily batter or just the quality of ingredients, nothing comes close to this place. I would buy shares in this fish n chip shop if i could, thats how much i love it. Theyre a lovely family running it too, they even offer you a few chips whilst youre waiting if your order is taking a while to prepare. THEYRE THE BEST, u wont regret eating here and thats a promise.

Captain has the best fish and chips in the whole of Harrow. It is so fresh and tasty, and Captain himself is such a friendly man. He welcomes you in with a hot portion of chips with chili powder whilst you wait for your order. He has a mass menu and lots to choose from.

I use to go to this chippy 14-15 years ago and I moved away and came back to the area and they are the best! You won’t find better fish and chips anywhere else in northwest Londoners about time this chilly went viral. Hands down the best chip shop! Soooo underrated! I cannot express how much I love this place. No exaggeration just try it and find out for yourself. Their prices are super reasonable and they provide the best service hands down! Love this place so much.

En attendant que notre repas soit préparé, le propriétaire nous a donné des frites chaudes à manger gratuitement. C'était un geste très attentionné. De plus, ils nous a donné des frites dans notre repas alors que nous n en avions pas commandé. Très grosse portion, on est parti sans avoir faim. Je recommande absolument ce magasin de poisson-frites.

We had travelled from west london to eat from another well known fish and chip shop in harrow but that was closed and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we found this gem of a shop in Captains Traditional Fish & Chips what a lovely experience and a true spirit to serve their customers with impeccable customer service we ate in and the lady kindly prepared the table for us and helped us with our order we ordered one large cod and chips which was 11.50 and 99p for the curry sauce which was made fresh both very reasonably priced and worth it as the quality was to a higher standard. We were given some chips complimentary while our meal was prepared which was a wonderful gesture and the staff were bjth very attentive and considerate. The fish was crispy golden and not flooded in oil like most places and the chips were fresh and a very generois size even the regular we ordered looked large. Absolutely recommend this fish and chip shop to anyone you wont be disappointed. Thank you Captains for a wonderful experience and exceptional customer service See you again soon

We've been going here since they opened and have to say like a fine wine with age they just keep getting better and better, never cease to amaze us. Would recommend Captain's over many of the local stores. Portions are very generous. Thank Captain

This was our first time and it won't be the last. Called up and ordered 6 large cods and 6 chips as we had a get together and wanted to try this place for a while now. We was told by the lady take 5 chips instead of 6 as the portions was massive and oh boy was she right so thank you for that. While I got there early to pay cash only by the way which is OK as cash point is across the road, was greater with a massive smile and a free bag of small portion of chips as a tester and my oh my did I finish then quick as I took that one bite I couldn't stop now that was amazing. Took our food home which I thought was fairly priced and we didn't leave anything. Chips 10/10 Cod 10/10 Curry sauce 10/10 The Gherkins 10/10 Think No actually let me correct I know I've found my Fish and Chips place. Now thank you uncle for helping me to my car.

A delightfully traditional serving of FISH and CHIPS. Often, a wait well worth a generous portion of golden crispy battered cod with good chips. Mind you, the Captain strikes a good conversation with customers whilst offering a treat taster of CHIPS. Would highly recommend Captains as the best fish and chip shop in Rayners Lane, North, South, and West Harrow, probably stretching further than my limits of travel. Try it, to keep trying. I am disappointed with the food served to me, as I have seen such good reviews on Google, so I decided to order large Cod and large Chips over the phone and gave them plenty of time to cook it but unfortunately chips was undercooked, to the point that I couldn't eat it.

My first visit after high recommendation from friends and I was left speechless. From entering the shop, impeccable greeting, superbly clean and excellent customer service. The Haddock, Chips and Onion rings I ordered were of the highest quality in terms of taste, freshly cooked and succulent. Whilst waiting, the owner gave me a sample of hot chips to eat, a cold bottle of water and some tartar sauce to take away. What great service and definitely going back there and telling all my friends too. Well done to all

This is the first time we had visited this place, I only went by the reviews from Google and let me tell you we was not disappointed. We ordered 2 large cods and chips and battered sausage. Whilst we were waiting for our order the owner gave us a few chips. We have never experienced service like this before. Having not been here before the hospitality was second to none. Will definitely be visiting again ☺️

I had Spicy Cod Bites for the first time and they were delicious. Crispy crunchy batter with chilli on the outside and moist, flaky cod inside. Little mouthfuls of delight. 😍

Went for the first time today and was very impressed. Owner was friendly and gave complimentary spicy chips whilst waiting for order. These were delicious, excellent standard. Good standard of fish which was crispy and good quality. Will definitely be revisiting.

I've been visiting Captains for many years. The reason I rate them 5 stars: Firstly, they always provide service with a smile and make the effort to interact with all their customers. Secondly, freshness, they make their food to order. I've never been served a soggy or stale chip. You may have to wait a few extra minutes compared to other chippies in the area, but I would personally either call ahead to place your order or rather wait and additional 5 or 10 minutes to get piping hot food that tastes so much better. Other things I like are, the extensive menu and the cleanliness. Improvements would be that I could get an order delivered through UberEats or delivery. But I get it, they don't want the quality of their food to be impacted by 3rd party delivery firms. I also think their portion sizes are generous compared to other outlets who charge a lot more for a lot less and just don't provide the same taste and quality. Thumbs up for Captains!

I don’t normally leave reviews but had to make an exception! It was my first time in the shop and I was only ordering some chips for my mum and the owner gifted it to me for free with a note on the bag “Happy Mothers Day” I am so grateful and the chips was amazing, high quality and fresh! My mum comes in regularly she always tell me how good it is but now I know for sure and will definitely be back! Thank you for the amazing customer service and kindness

As always great fish and chips to go with great customer service. The owner airways takes care of you and provides a few chips to keep you going whilst you wait for your order. My wife goes for the spicy been burger and definitely over to try. Will be back again soon

Been going to this fish and chip shop for well over five years and found nothing comparable in the local area. It reminds me of the quality and quantity that we used to get when I was a child. The fish is all freshly cooked to order and the portions of chips are always hot and big enough for lunch the next day. A proper family run establishment that really takes pride in what they serve up to their customers.

Captain's food is amazing, always fresh and tasty. If you want good quality fish and chips and service with a smile, this is the place to go.

This guy knows his stuff and makes the place a joy to use. Fab food - fresh, crispy fish and chips, generous, and theyre very modest about it. Good value. The only improvement I could suggest, would be to widen the opening hours.... cravings can come at any time.

Although I always pass by this traditional fish & chip’s restaurant but it was my first and not last time , I was surprised of the way I was welcomed by a complementary chips appetiser While my order was prepared , with happy heart owner in the front to welcome you , my order was fish and chips take away was reasonably priced , and very delicious the chips should be more crispy but next time I go there I will mention that , I am happy today that I finally found the right traditional fish & chips restaurant in my area and my favourite meal . Excellent fish and chip shop. They are kind enough to give you a portion of free chips whilst you wait for your actual order. We had the masala fish and chip box which came with salad and chilli sauce all in one box. So convenient and Delicious! So good in fact, I had it twice in one week!

Top for chips! Great portion size although prices up and up. We have good chippies in North harrow and Pinner but this is now the family's favourite. Pleasant staff, too. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

The curry sauce was really tasty aswell I was very surprised how good it was Considering how busy the shop was The customer service was excellent Lovely chaps working there. The chap through in a sausage for free aswell Spoke to me like I was a regular customer I could see why the locals were laughing and joking with workers. Definitely going back there again on a regular though I live 4 miles away

I would have no reservation in recommending Captains for fish and chips. Great chunky pieces od haddock with freshly cooked chips, excellent. Their scampi and salted squid is delicious and so is the calamair. Reasonably priced and tasty fresh food on offer. Give it a try, it's well worth the change. Gives the Atlantic fish bar a run for its money!!

Recently refurbished and looks great. Great fish and chips and outstanding customer service, always handing chips out whilst we wait. They don't always accept card which can be frustrating and the fish can be soggy/oily.
