Very good fish and chip shop. Service is quick and food good. They do a brilliant Irish curry.

They have three types of curry. The one I got was supposed to be the least sweet. And it is weirdly sweet and not nice at all.

Captain COD ? How missleading is that? No way is that Fish I bought tonight COD The chips were sad anemic My food has gone straight in the bin £8 later, I will send someone in and purchase a piece of COD and take it to Trading standards for a second opinion, no way was the fish COD that was bought tonight. A complete waste of money, I wouldn't subject my body to it. Absolutely disgusting and thats being polite.

Very busy at noon, fish and chips excellent for portion size and taste. Many pre-orders slowed the walk-ins. Always like to partake when in the area! Service always friendly. Tiny parking lot next door, but have always found a space.

If you are eating halal fish and chips with gravy. Its not reliable at all. First they say it's halal than they changed statement that it's not. I bought food not sure should I eat or bin it. I am Muslim I paid for halal food. Common if you have any problem don't bring it in your work. Be professional and honest money is not everything. It's not difficult.

Gone past this place many times.though I'd give it a try . 1st time I've tried it and will be the last. Fish was awful no crisp batter it was soggy.and the fish was like a white mash fish instead flaky. Chips cold. Even the barm cake had smallest spread butter in the center of it. I had to re butter it.i don't really do reviews but with out reviews these places will never change. I've give it a one star .

£4.80 for a chip barm with cold chips and a can of coke. Doesn't take cards. I don't care if you are scamming the tax man to be honest but you are next to a busy hospital, if you took cards you would be busier and could have warm chips.

Nice traditional proper English Fish and chips. And the only one in the area. Doesn't disappoint if you want a real proper English Fish and chips which is why I go there a lot

You will not find better fish and chips in the area. The chips are well cooked and never greasy. You always get a big portion of fish which is well cooked. It's all really tasty as well. The scampi is excellent as well

I came here for food for my sick mother in hospital, and the young (girl) i wont label it a lady needs to reevaluate her attitude, face, and get a new job the way it spoke to me and another elderley lady was quite disturbing and the cocky faces it pulled to another male customer clearly mocking the old lady while fluttering the big wings it had glued to its eyelashes didnt crack a smile once its whole demeanour was vicky pollard and was quite embaressing i dont normally write reviews but this hasnt sat right with me all night. Its nice to be nice even if you have to pretend but you work right next to a hospital so maybe next time you intend to be rude for doing the job your paid to do just think how far a smile can go !!!!!

Decided to update my review as was forced to give this place another chance and everything was really really good. Fish was fresh. Enjoyed it. Would just not get the pies but then no chippies do good pies anymore anyways

Can't fault the food, it's always really good and substantial portions. Staff are always pleasant. The only reason I haven't given full stars is because they don't take card payments and in this day and age I find that inconvenient.

Had fish and chips.they made it look as though it was fresh. It was all dried up. Obviously been done hours earlier. I should of took it back but threw it. Never again

Used to be a brilliant chippy but just paid £14 for 2 x sausage chips gravy n coke and this is how it looks after pulling as much of the f’ing paper as I could off it. Joke.

When the chips are new and fresh here - there simply is no better chippy #factssss no chip shop compares! the price, the taste, the quality alllllllll I couldn't fault tbh! If the chips are older and have been sat in the oil longer obviously the quality suffers, but overall, it's the best in Mcr for me 5***** !!!

Best fish and chips in the area. Don't bother looking elsewhere, you won't do better than this place. I had the large cod and chips, and it was delicious. Try the Irish curry sauce, highly recommend.

I walked in wanting doner and chips, but when I saw the fish (amazing) I was torn, but I'm glad I stuck with my gut. Doner chips salad and drink great value, great service, i will go here again and again and again

First and last time I use this chippy. Fish batter was very greasy and I strongly suspected that the fish was not Cod. I wouldn't like to say what type of fish it was but it certainly didn't taste anything like cod. A lot of the chips in the portion were hard which tends to mean they have been cooked for a while before needed for an order. The whole of our order was a complete waste of money. I Love this Place . Due to a Move had not been for years, but last night I fancied Fresh Fish and Chips for first time in a long time. I went here, and again, they did not Disappoint me. The Fish was Delicious, and too the Chips with a Portion of Gravy. Loved it that much, I am going again Tonight, but this time with a Pot of Curry Sauce. MMMMMM Can't wait

Ordered 2 fish, 2 chips, a sausage , peas, gravy and an English curry tonight. When we drove all the way home and unpacked everything , the curry was the wrong curry it was Chinese not English and they had forgotten the sausage ( the only thing my 3 year old enjoys from the chippy ) we decided to just plate up and eat as by the time I would drive back to the chippy to tell them the rest of the food would be cold! Then when we sat down to eat , the fish looked great was a good size until We realised the majority of it was batter. £4.50 per fish for the majority of it being batter , I wish we never bothered. Having worked in a chippy myself for over 8 years I know that wasn’t worth the money whatsoever! Had high expectations for this place but will just stick to my usual from now on. ( sorry for the bad review but it really did deserve it , maybe was having a bad day as some of the reviews are great on here , however our experience was poor)

Had fish chips and peas tonight 26 / 3 asked for a lightly battered fish and that’s what I got absolutely delish fish pure white, even though the batter was thin which I asked for there was plenty of it. Chips lovely and peas the old fashioned mushy peas delish well done captain cod

Went on sunday evening, ordered two large fish and chips. One of the fish was almost 50% hard dry batter. The chips were greasy and cold. Very disapointed and could not eat it all. The staff were friendly which gives it the extra star.

Best chippy I've had for a long time, really nice every time

To be honest I was disappointed, I ordered the large fish, curry chips, the fish was cooked there and then, but when I opened it the batter was sloppy inside and watery, to me it wasn't fried long enough. That said I did enjoy the white fish, chips and curry, would I go again yes BUT ask for the fish to be cooked a bit longer

Fantastic Chippy, the best i have had, great staff who are friendly and know how to have a laugh, good size portions, and reasonable prices. Tuesday is my day for my Kebab meat and Chips, salad and Jalapeño chilli's, the staff on Tuesdays are brilliant but also the other days too. Don't give it a miss, give it a try

Just fancied some proper chips so went in here and got some. Hubby had a sausage with mild curry sauce. Ast service and everything was fresh and very warm. Thoroughly enjoyed and would use again next time at salford royal.

Staff are nice but won't go back. I haven't been for a while and now I remember why. Rubbery chips that taste reheated, which i don't understand on a Friday night. Also, fish batter not great, bit soft and doughy in places. Ends of the fish inside have hardened as if it has been reheated.

Fish is a bit thin compare to Parade Fish bar at Swinton square. They also seems to pre cook it instead of making it on the spot for you..

Lovely food but absolutely terrible for parking.

Our local chippy, used to be so good but the last three times in the past few months it's been really awful. Loads of thick batter with little bits of fish inside. Chips taste like rubber and reheated. Sorry but will be looking for another that we can enjoy. The staff however have always been nice and that's how we like our chips and fish.
