Caprese in City of London, Westminster

I know Caprese is now permanently closed and as a regular customer before this change, this is very sad for me. My friends and I loved the place, with its very friendly staff, high quality drinks and coffees, and delicious dishes that were by no means your generic london Italian. We had such lovely meals at Caprese and would like to thank all the staff for this. Ciao for now :(

My friends and I ordered bresaola with carasau bread, cheese and cured meat tagliere, burrata with Mediterranean vegetables and gnocchi alla sorrentina; dishes were fresh and tasty and made with authentic Italian ingredients. My favorite dessert was Sicilian connoli.... truly beautiful.... if you found yourself in the area you can’t miss this place... the service is quick and super friendly and the food will take you straight to 🇮🇹😋😉

I have been to Caprese Deli more than once, and I have to say the food is ok. Pizza is nice even if there is not much of a cheese base although you find it more unexpectedly on the meatball dish.. Good place for a coffee, pastry and lunch break and you can also chose a table outside. The sfaff are polite and friendly.

Ordered take away Caprese Salad, TWICE during a ten day stay. It was wonderful, generous amounts of Burratta, tomatoes and seasonings, with great olive oil. Came with a great side of flatbread, nice and crispy! Just what was wanted after a long day of hot sightseeing!

Camminando per la Queensway, io e il mio ragazzo ci siamo imbattuti in questo deli italiano, e la nostalgia della cucina italiana ci ha convinti ad entrare. Appena entrati, siamo stati accolti dalla simpatica cameriera ed abbiamo deciso di ordinare una zuppa di pomodoro ed un’insalata con pomodoro e cipolla rossa. Che dire, i prodotti assolutamente italianissimi, mangiare un sugo così buono all’estero è praticamente impossibile, era davvero squisita! Personale molto gentile e disponibile, e prezzi assolutamente accessibili per quella che è Londra. Ci tornerei sicuramente.

Nos encantó la experiencia. La comida fantástica y la atención excelente. Comimos pizzas con auténtico sabor italiano y de postre, tiramisú. Una experiencia increíble. Volveremos!

Authentic Italian charming little place close to Bayswater station. I love this place atmosphere, and food which is nice, simple and super tasty. The people are really great and make you feel like family. We tried once and now we come here regularly. I can recommend Pasta bolognese and Polpette al pomodoro which are our favourite dishes however, we have tried everything from the menu and it is worth doing so! If you would like to experience genuine South Italian atmosphere and food this place is for you. Ewa

Walking around Bayswater, we found a lovely looking Italian restaurant. The sun was shining on its little terrace. Underneath the Queensway road sign, it proudly read ‘Traditional Italian’. We took a look at the menu and were greeted with a list of traditional Italian dishes. The first red flag was no spaghetti!! Our choice instead; was the homemade meatballs and a mozzarella-aubergine salad plate. There were 3 meatballs, and oh my Lord did they taste like stray cat. So awful I just can’t explain... We considered fleeing. I normally eat everything. My partner wanted me to eat it but these 3 bad boys just found my limit. The other plate had some nice mozzarella, but all vegetables were drowning in olive oil. Don’t go here for food. We only liked the water… The tap water. It’s beyond me how this place is still around. Never going back.

Best coffe and chocolate croissant, friendly atmosphere. I returned in the evening with a friend and we had Aperol Spritz ,bruschetta and pizza al fresco. My favourite dinner place

Went here with my boyfriend for dinner. The place is really cozy and the service was very nice. The food was not really spectacular, my boyfriend got meatballs which was okay, but I got the pasta with four cheeses that I definitely wouldn’t recommend. I would go here for a drink or a coffee but maybe not the food.

Sono venuta un paio di settimane fa con la mia famiglia in questo ristorante. Abbiamo ordinato una penna bolognese, un insalata di mare e una bruschetta con vegetali e n'duia.. Bell'ambiente e ottimo cibo 100% italiano. Molto raro da trovare qua a Londra! Torneremo sicuramente

To start with: I’m Italian and I don’t usually write reviews... unless my experience is absolutely awful. As I was walking in Westbourne Grove, this place caught my attention: a good facade, and the menu on the board was intriguing as well... they had penne with ragu, so I thought I’d give it a go, given that penne with ragu is my favourite kind of pasta. Sat down, ordered with the waitress... once I received the plate I thought “there must have been a mistake”, and told the waitress... there was a huge topping of cheddar cheese on top of the pasta, which is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE in the traditional Italian dish, especially considered that the staff is Italian as well! I told them that I wouldn’t have eaten it, so they made another one without cheddar... greasy and oily. If you claim to be an Italian restaurant you’re supposed to do things in the traditional way. How would you feel if I had an English restaurant and I cooked a Shepherds pie with a topping of béchamel sauce?? Do yourselves a favour and avoid this place at all costs!

Vacanza a Londra per le festività natalizie,scegliamo questo locale per pranzare.non eravamo molto convinti di mangiare italiano a Londra🤔🤔.ma visto l’orario e soprattutto la fame decidiamo di sfidare la sorte.La proprietaria non è italiane credo sia peruviana,il personale e soprattutto la cuoca sono italianissimi.cibo preparato al momento prezzi decisamente buoni.personale molto simpatico e competente.se dovessi ritornare a Londra sicuramente ritornerei volentieri.

From the outside it looks like a charming Italian cafe. But inside it was anything but... we were served two incredibly flavourless Lasagna that looked like they were past their sell by date, with an old basil leaf on top, and one lasagna had a quarter missing, but without even starting to eat, the owner asked how was the food like she knew it was bad, and when we complained about it, the replacement lasagna that arrived was cold and almost raw inside. Absolutely disgusting and one for food health and safety alarm! Avoid this place, it is two faced.

Visited here with nine members of our family. Adults all happy with their food but no childrens menu and no half portions on offer. Reasonable prices and nice serving staff. For an Italian, not really very child friendly

The signage for this says Traditional Italian and not the name - Caprese Deli. This was my worst experience in years. No kids menu. My 5 year old given a half adult Pizza, not cut up just an entire half pizza. Only two wines (white and red). All our meals came out suspiciously in under 5 mins. My Lasagne was stone cold in the middle. I complained and the "chef" arrived and conceded it was microwaved - and not even properly. He offered to do it again! Please please avoid.

Not been here before and will be going back the food was delicious especially Gnocci with bolognese fresh bread olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Reasonably priced and good portions. All in all excellent value and good quality great friendly service.

Caprese was recommended by a friend whose advice will not be relied upon in future. We sat on the pavement of a busy intersection which had the benefit that a friend at our table could smoke. Nothing distinguishes this from any number of other places in appearance. Service was slow because the place was badly understaffed. That is always unfair to both the staff on duty and to the customer but it does not help when the member of staff who did serve us seemed very uninterested. We had one course. I had the burrata and the others had lasagne. The burrata was pleasant although I would have served it with something that had a less strident flavour to allow the subtlety of the cheese to come through. The lasagne was, it transpired, Neapolitan and not as advertised. The difference is that in Naples a lasagne is usually made with pork (this was not) and a lot of tomato sauce as well as a heavier ricotta based cheese sauce. Certainly this was not what was expected but also not very appealing in its own right. Well made, such a lasagne can be good but this was not. Not expensive but not cheap either this is not a place to which I shall return any time soon. I hesitated between 2 and 3 as an overall score.
