Lovely local pub. Landlord and landlady are so friendly. Staff are amazing. Try to pop in for the Karaoke on a Friday and Saturday night when I can and also the quiz night on a Wednesday. This pub has changed completely since the pub has changed hands. Well done guys!

My visit to the Canton Hotel's bar was marred by a profoundly disappointing experience. The ambiance fell flat, lacking warmth and charm, while the service was slow and inattentive. The bar staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming, failing to create a hospitable environment for guests. My expectations for a pleasant evening were shattered by the subpar service and lackluster atmosphere. Such a negative encounter left a lasting impression, underscoring the importance of exceptional customer service and ambiance in cultivating a memorable and enjoyable hospitality experience. This unfortunate experience serves as a stark reminder of the critical role of attentive and friendly service in the success of any establishment. The owners of the Canton hotel exhibit rudeness that tarnishes the guest experience. The rooms are unkempt, with dirty toilets adding to the discomfort. The bar staff incessantly solicit tips, creating an unpleasant atmosphere for patrons. My stay at the hotel was marred by these negative encounters, leaving me with a lasting impression of dissatisfaction. The lack of cleanliness and professionalism reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole, highlighting the importance of quality service in the hospitality industry. Such experiences underscore the significance of attentive management and well-trained staff in ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty.

A proper pub to visit when in the area. It’s a place of way back when and today. The punters, staff, and everyone else who drinks here. Cleanest pint (and more) 100%. Paul, Jo… thank you. Chelsea and Holly part of the entertaining family. Julien, Debby and mum are outstanding too. Oh and not forgetting Geoff, and blue, grey, green eyes…. She’s my favourite. Guy if you fancy a night or three here I promise you won’t be disappointed. So so welcoming, can’t wait for the next time.

Jo and Paul have absolutely turned this pub around. From the karaoke held on a Friday and Saturday night by Jeff and their dedication to charity such as the poppy appeal. I recommend this pub to my family and friends whenever they say they are out in canton. Please keep doing what you are doing! Me and my family love the place! Thank you Jo, Paul, Hollie and Mikey!

Best pub in Canton without a shadow of a doubt , Paul and Jo run a great show . Great atmosphere , great staff and a great pint. Lots of entertainment, definitely worth a visit.

Used to enjoy drinking here gone downhill due to attendance of certain members considering it’s a family based run pub never would I recommend you take your children there staff are very unprofessional ban people for no reason I suppose it’s a case of if your face fits

The owners were really welcoming and karaoke on a Friday is a must. This place is a little diamond in the rough , the decor is really modern, the cleanliness is impeccable and it has a added bonus of heaters in the garden. They’ve definitely turned this pub around from when I remembered it a few years ago. Well done 👏

What an amazing place, I first used over 30 years ago when pubs were proper pubs. Paul & Jo the owners are great, relocated to Cardiff from Hampshire through their love for Cardiff. I look forward to seeing them both very soon

Great selection of bar snacks! The service is absolutely exceptional. Staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome. Great atmosphere. Karaoke every Friday where you can sing and dance. Prices a very reasonable and you can be sure to have a fantastic day and night.

We've discovered this pub having moved back to the area after many years away. The staff are outstanding, very welcoming and offer great customer service in a professional but informal manner. There's a great mix of people here and it's a very positive, friendly atmosphere. We pop in here regularly now and it's refreshing to find a dog friendly pub. Drinks are always nicely presented with care and attention and we always look forward to popping in. This is a lovely, warm, cosy and exceptional pub. Thanks to all involved

Decent place to have a drink before football games at cardiff city stadium. Beer garden is a plus and carpark right behind. No food.

Old traditional Brains pub complete with grumpy landlord. Visited after Wales football match. Probably the busiest day they've had in months yet he had no Vodka. Plan ahead to make the most money out of such nights... or perhaps doesn't care.
