Delivery person was so kind and sweet when I didn't realise they had been waiting outside! Orange Chicken (American-Chinese speciality) is hard to find in the UK and they NAILED it!

The collection process was easy. The taste of fried Ho Fun was superb, fantastic. It was piping hot when I collected it, even last time's delivery was hot. The only improvement that need to be made is that some of the Ho Fun noodles stuck together.

Their starter is the best I’ve eaten.

My favourite Chinese takeaway that does the best BBQ ribs in sauce

I ordered the stewed flank pork & mustard green dinner box, the flank pork is so soft and the sauce is yummy and the rice is cooked to perfection. I LIKE IT A LOT.

The fried chicken was crispy enough yet succulent, very good for fried chicken fillet and the rice is the right texture and the warmth is superb. Can wait to try this again.

The rice ball roll tastes very good, would definitely order again.

I can taste the meat rice dumpling using high quality ingredients, rice, mushroom, meat, chestnut etc and the filling quantity is very satisfying. Definitely recommend to try this out and can’t wait to try other dishes like fried chicken bento.

Ordered Kung Po Chicken bento. What I got was a massive piece of inedible cartilage that represented well over half of the meat by weight. Very disappointed.

Food late, phone restaurant multiple times. No one answered. Food turn up eventually, lady said sorry. But food was cold. Won't use them anymore.

Good customer service and explained why the food was late, but the rice was not cooked well, and was very hard.

Amazing Food !!!! Tasted great & worth the wait !!! Gets lots in a portion size so was even better when I got to have some more for midnight munchies 😋

I have never tasted Chinese food of this low calibre if you want bland, cold, bleak prawn crackers look no further Canaan Chinese.

Delivery was on time, polite driver and food was hot. Positive: egg fried rice and egg drop soup were amazing. Unfortunately chicken balls were not great too much dough and slightly overcooked. Won ton soup not the best, but ok. I will order again, but I think we will give chicken balls a miss.

Worst Chinese I've had in my life. Meat dishes had practically no meat, and gotten suspected food poisoning from shrimps. Avoid at all cost! Would give 0 starts if Tripadvisor let me.

Awful quality and late. prawn balls are 90% batter and one tiny shrimp, lotus rice had almost no filling, roast duck on rice had only 5 tiny duck offcuts (we counted), just the lowest quality, cheapest food but not at low price.

Delivery took double what we anticipated. Initially it was estimated to be 40 - 60 minutes and in the end we waited almost 2 hours. Also, as others have said, it seems like the food quality has went down recently. The tomato egg drop soup was just water with barely any tomato chunks, a flimsy amount of egg white and some spring onion - pretty much tasteless. The mapo tofu had a decent flavour and spice level, but was meant to have aubergine and there was none of this to be seen and the prawn dumplings were pretty meh. Although, it wasn’t all bad as the salt and pepper chips and wings were decent and the crispy chilli beef was tasty with a good spice level too.

Food was late and was disgusting and cold.

Disappointed as have used these guys several times before, Chicken Balls was just mushy batter, hardly any chicken & it took an hour and half to be delivered with no apology - think it’s time to try somewhere else

Such a shame, I've been going to canaan for years as a special treat. This order was so poor, the Szechuan prawns was literally watery sweet & sour, the yellow bean sauce was just stir fry chicken in oyster sauce. They no longer include wings in the mixed starter. I'd rather pay cheaper prices elsewhere if I'm going to get poorer quality food. My last order here, a shame

Crispy beef was very burnt! To blame that’s how they cook it is what has let them down instead of owning up and being reasonable. I would post a photo here if there was an option! Having worked in numerous Chinese takeaways myself, the dish was definitely burnt! Clearly refried in too hot oil/too long. Could not taste the sauce and the coating on beef was near black, cannot believe JustEat not refunding, any restaurant could say ‘that’s our style of cooking it’. If I had got the deserved refund and apology I would have not posted as I understand mistakes can happen, but since they are claiming that’s their way of cooking then a poor review is deserved and I would not recommend that dish from here!

the ribs was not what i ask, they had brown sauce on them and the sweet sour fish was very disappointing. i had the the week before and it was great but today not good at all.

Dishes were a bit hit or miss, the special fried rice was particularly poor. Mixed starter and yellow bean pork were pretty tasty, chicken balls were basically all dough. All considered, a pretty poor experience

The food was over an hour late and was lukewarm when it arrived. The crispy items were soggy when they arrived.

All in all it was good, we were missing a bit of salt on the pastas and the dishes. Stir fry was not good tasteless, no soya sauce at all. Juicy-watery. All juice was messed up the bags. Drips everywhere. I needed to empty it on top of the sink to wash them before open it. I do understand we are leaving in rush world and plenty people order same as me. So i am still glad as i did not need to cook and im stuffed. Thank you very much

Food was tasty. Salt and pepper ribs were very good but I ordered as a combo with chips but there were no chips. Delivery took a very long time.

The food is horrid. Rice was sticky, no seasoning, can hardly call that king prawn/egg fried rice.

The food is usually good, but not today. The chicken wings were so very salty they were inedible and I had to throw them mostly away. Really disappointing

We had ordered for about 7/8 people, had a good selection of dishes some that was recommended such as the Braised pork on rice, lemon chicken, chicken popcorn and the Taiwanese beef with black pepper sauce on rice. they were all worth the price couldn't stop finger licking...lol. over all highly recommend this place for authentic Chinese and Taiwanese food lovers. *****

Always hot,always on time and delicious food

Food arrived ridiculously late! And both Tofu dishes were overly covered in the gel texture ingredient that they use, they used an excessive amount, and there was more gel than Tofu to bite into. Also I'm still awaiting my refund, they've yet to mark my order as delivered or refund me.

I ordered the scrambled egg with meat and boiled rice and it was nice except there could've been more of an equal amount of scrambled egg and meat to rice ratio. Nice overall though.

I used to love the orange chicken, but the one I ordered recently was cooked differetly. So dissappointing I always order orange chicken

Ordered around 20:15 Estimated 21:05-21:25 Arrived at 21:38 Very verrrry long waiting time (over an hr). No updates from restaurant until I personally called. No driver tracker. Food was lukewarm and quality wasn’t great. Don’t personally like writing bad reviews but disappointed.

Food was late, however the restaurant called afterwards to personally explain and has given us an offer to help make up for it. Fortunately the food was delicious (best we’ve had round our area in a while) and we would take up their apology offer and order again - it was our first order, would recommend based on food quality and customer service.

The items I tried from the menu were pretty tasty. Chicken balls were nice, as was the soup I got. My friend had the special vermicelli which he also said was good. I called the restaurant as I had received a message on just eat saying 'Enjoy your food' when it hadn't been delivered. The lady was very polite and apologised unreservedly for this and assured me that my food wasn't very far away. Very happy with my order and will definitely order from Canaan Chinese in the near future. 4/5 from me. Estimated delivery time could've been shorter but I'm guessing that they are usually quite busy.

Was updated on my order which was delayed, but I dont mind as i got the estimated time for it. King prawns were spicy, so thinking they've put the chilli in with king prawns rather than the ribs, which i dont mind... but spicy is fairly spicy! Ribs have a sweet taste to it, and the chicken is more of a soft crunchy outer batter. Overall, quite happy with the meal, and have ordered before but forgot to review.

After a long wait food finally arrived and to be completely honest it was worth the wait. The resturant did tell us they very busy which is understandable. Food arrived hot, and tasted great! Great old school Chinese take away!

I would have taken one star off delivery time as I ordered at 18:45 and it arrived at 20:30 but, as Canaans was really busy and they kept me informed of the delay, I couldn’t take any stars off. I did have to call, and when I did the restaurant said it was just being picked up - 10 mins later it delivered by an apologetic driver. It was still hot and everything tasted AMAZING! So tasty! I haven’t ordered from here for a long time and the standards have not dropped. If you want a superb Chinese takeaway, this is the place to go. 10 out of 10. P.S. Always get the prawn crackers.

I will never order again from here. the food quality is poor. The lemon chicken doesn't have any taste and the complimentary soup is disgusting. The tiger beef technically is chilli pepper mixed with beef strips, should put more beef in it. Overall, I didn't enjoy their food. So never will I ever order again.

No flavour, it was plain rice with assorted meat. i thought the ribs were ok until i ate some and my belly kept turning and im shooting bullets out of my ... well you get the picture. How do i know it was the ribs, because after i vomited very soon after eating some i thought... it might be something else. As soon as i ate the ribs again, the ammo started reloading and loudly... I can not come and kill myself. Its OK. Won't be back. Good point, nice delivery man

Food is usually great but most of this order was very disappointing. Ordered Ho fun but got thin pad Thai noodles. Everything but the wings was tasteless. And it was actually 25mins late not 20.

The food and tea was cold it had no taste chicken balls were stale and the coke is flat. I paid over 30 pound and could not eat food waste of time and money

Beef was bit too spicy, otherwise pretty good, the milk tea don't seem to have an option of normal sugar, but less or none? Or maybe I was wrong. It would be great if there's option for temperature of the drink. Overall pretty nice, will reshop in the future！

Sizeable portions but lacking in flavour also found some plastic from a bottle top in my noodles (safety hazard). The restaurant got the address mixed up too which delayed delivery.
