We visited this place for the first time and I highly recommend it. The food was excellent and was served in a timely manner and was of good quality. Staff very friendly and polite. A comprehensive menu that's reasonable priced.

I had a skinny flat white with toast and marmite here. Perfectly made at the right temperature and great service

Me encontré con este lugar por accidente en mi camino de regreso de un viaje de negocios y me sentí tentado por la naturaleza sencilla y acogedora del exterior. Lo que encontré adentro fue uno de los cafés más deliciosos que he tomado, servido con una sonrisa, un sabroso refrigerio a la hora del almuerzo y el personal más que feliz de ofrecer a un novato como yo algunos consejos valiosos para preparar y moler. Me encantaría volver a visitar un día.

El café que se sirve en Campbell y Syme es un gran placer, especialmente si lo comparamos con otros cafés que se venden en la mayoría de los lugares en el Reino Unido. Es independiente, no una cadena, y tienen una buena selección de cafés de excelente sabor y también sirven algo de comida, con una selección bastante limitada, pero lo que se sirve también es excelente.

If you know your coffee, then there's no other option than this cafe in East Finchley. This is one of the top cafes in London, no doubt. They understand coffee and prepare every single one with care and expertise.

Campbell and Syme is a fairly typical independent café serving superb coffee with a limited but good quality and healthy breakfast / food offering. Staff are great, really friendly and the atmosphere is bang on.

A welcome addition to the area - very good coffee, trendy vibe, nice food. Great to have an independent option in East Finchley. Will definitely be back.

Este es uno de mis lugareños. Cumple todos los requisitos: decoración contemporánea shabby chic, luz natural preciosa (grandes ventanas delanteras buenas para observar a la gente), personal amable, agua con menta gratis en el lateral. Tengo un diente dulce, por lo que mis favoritos han sido sus affrogato, que da en el clavo. Incluso me hicieron un mocha helado a pedido un día caluroso (ya que en este momento no lo tenían en el menú), y porque combinaban su estilo habitual de mocha (chocolate derretido - yum) con café helado con leche fría, terminó con un residuo de chocolate en la parte inferior.

True hidden gem. All the things they serve are made with a bit of heart. Absolutely fantastic espresso and everything else so far that I tried.

The attraction is the range of coffee and the expertise the owners have. The ckaes were nice but definitely secondary to the coffee

Worth seeking out, this small coffee shop serves a seriously good, and full-bodied coffee. They roast the beans (properly) and you can buy the beans for your home grinding and consumption. Friendly, authentic, and super coffee. A+

We had the best latte in east finchley. The staff is really knowledgeable about their stuff and can give you great advices on their coffew. Highly recommended

this was our go-to coffee every morning while we were in the area. this coffee shop puts so much effort in the aet of coffee, and you can taste the love.

El café aquí es el auténtico - el personal realmente saben lo que están haciendo y los granos son de excelente calidad. Que comprar nuestro café aquí también y la rutina para el aeropress funciona realmente bien. La comida es buena, pero una limitada selección de pasteles en un domingo a menudo... demanda sospecho! La única pega es que cierran muy temprano, así que no es buena si necesitas una tarde cortado!

Once you've had coffee from Campbell and Syme it's hard to enjoy anything else.. they've turned me into a coffee snob! Great place to sit and work with your laptop for a few hours, with nice food if you get hungry.

I work around the corner from Campbell & Syme so was delighted when it opened as it made a nice change to have a more gourmet coffee option in the area. There are some great coffee shops nearby, don't get me wrong, but the options here are great - not many places in the area do Chemex and Aeropress.

Best coffee in London, amazing selection of beans, staff super friendly - happy to share everything they know, no "central london - you have no idea what you are talking about" kind of attitude. Super yummy granola, lot of homemade items..Will be coming every day !

A local real coffee shop not just selling an interesting variety of coffee beans but also with a small menu of 'lunchtime' style food. I had a really excellent avocado on sourdough open sandwich. Reasonable prices. Plain wooden chairs so maybe not the sort of place you would want to spend too much time at but a nice atmosphere. They also run 'Homebrewing Workshops', not that I have been on one but they look interesting. This place makes a welcome change from the ubiquitous coffee shop chains.

Sometimes hard to get a table due to users of free wifi hogging the tables for hours. It's very small, seems like homemade food. Nice people serving. Decent coffeeWould be great if they had more space as they must lose a lot of trade through lack of tables?

2nd visit, same experience, friendly staff, all the equipment and trendy shabby chic plain interior etc, but for the second and probably my last visit I requested a flat white (cost £2.70!) made hotter than normal and got a barely warm tepid drink that left no choice to be gulped quickly before it went stone cold, net result a very expensive cup of cold coffee that was over in seconds leaving little choice but to get and go only minutes after arriving..poor. I am a coffee lover btw and know a flat white is made slightly cooler than a cappucino, I make my comments within that context. It was barely warm at all. Others may fair differently, it seems to be very highly rated. Not by me though.

Can't believe I've just discovered this place great coffee served just right very nice worth a visit if your in the area, they do a variety of quality coffees but sadly for some reason they close at 2pm which when you really fancy a good coffee at 3

Heartbroken at moving away from my previous coffee shop I desperately poured over the recommendations for a new establishment in my area. Well I have to say I have found a new better home for my coffee fetish. There own roasted blends stand out as being highly original in a same old market. Friendly service and a great selection of snacks and treats complete the equation. Highly recommended.

These guys really know their coffee we live right around the corner and I am always impressed by the quality of the products used as will as the staffs attention to detail, skill and quality of work. Go if you want a great coffee experience

Great coffee and knowledgeable baristas. I had an Ethiopian V60 (can't remember the name) after asking for a recommendation, while my girlfriend had an Ethiopian Guji espresso in her cappuccino. Both were delicious. All their coffee is roasted onsite (which seems to be a rising trend these days), and I definitely will be buying a bag for home brewing in future.We also had a bite to eat, a tasty pesto, tomato and mozzarella toastie and banana bread toast with butter (amazing! I will always toast banana bread from now on). And the downside? Mumford & Sons on the stereo, but luckily our chatting drowned that out.All in all, a great coffee shop which we will definitely be visiting again.

I'm very lucky that this coffee shop is two minutes from where I live. They source and roast their own coffee. They source really diverse, interesting, beautifully balanced, complex coffees. Their flavour descriptions are intelligently written, unpretentious and give an unambiguous and accurate impression of what to expect. They are expert, precise roasters. Buy your coffee beans here! When going to buy my coffee beans I sometimes have a coffee prepared by Aeropress to drink in. It's served in an elegant glass decanter with what look like Riedel glasses to pour into and drink from. Wow! The classiest way to serve coffee I've ever experienced (anywhere). And it's in East Finchley. Go!!!

This wonderful, independent café serving light bites and the best coffee outside of Italy and South America is one of East Finchley's gems. It is far superior to anything we've had in this area since I've lived here. It's friendly, with a warm atmosphere, classy but not stuffy - and the coffee - served in proper-sized coffee cups (not the jam jar thick ugly mugs favoured by the chains) is so so good, and so smooth, it makes you feel you are in Italy or Colombia, not East Finchley.

These guys really know what they're doing. Superb, freshly made sandwiches, delicious cakes, refreshments and, above all, coffee. Staff were lovely, really friendly, professional and efficient despite the buzzy atmosphere. Every area in London should have a Campbell and Syme, it's that good. Very close to East Finchley station so would also be a great place to grab a coffee to take away on the way into work. Highly recommended.

Coffee is clearly a labour of love for Campbell and Symes. And indeed the coffee is a revelation - one taste and you won't go back to the alternatives on offer in East Finchley. The staff are very welcoming and create relaxed and calm environment. It is lovely to find somewhere in London where you are made to feel really welcome as an individual. They offer a small but delicious selection of sandwiches and soup, as well as some yummy baked goodies. So if you are in the neighbourhood - seek out this hidden gem just round the corner from the High Road.

Only just opened but Campbell and Syme has already built and reputation for great coffee (good choice of teas too). But the best thing about this place is the food. There's nothing fancy and OK it's a very small menu (a sheet of A4 on a clipboard) but what comes out of the kitchen, courtesy of the proprietor's mum, is scrumptious. I tried butternut squash soup with lovely nutty brown bread, warm out of the oven and followed that with a fantastic flat white to accompany a piece of carrot cake. I've been known to travel miles out of my way for good carrot cake so, believe me, this was a 'gold star' slice. It was on the large size, a home counting calories might want to share with a friend. I just enjoyed every mouthful. If like me you're a visitor to East Finchley, Campbell and Syme is worth the walk from the Tube station, up the High Road and turn right at the cross roads. Just a few minutes walk but well worth it.
