DON’T EAT HERE!! Ate here on Sunday night and had the worst food poisoning ever (from the chicken nuggets) from 2am onwards. Worst I’ve ever felt in my life, don’t eat here!!!!! Not worth it. Not been able to eat anything or even keep water down, horrible!!

All depends on what time of day you go sometimes the chips are very good other times not so. The Chinese curry is nice and the fish is good.

These staff need to be more organised in whose waiting to be served, and who is not. After a long awaited wait, countless times people cut into the que, presuming to be regulars. Me and my partner walked out frustrated regarding the situation, and took our business else where. Frustratingly, this is our usual go to chippy after a small drive away. I'm doubtful we'll bother to return and put our money into a more organised staff friendly business.

Use this takeaway very often and it's always been absolutely gorgeous until recently 😒 not too sure what's happened but food just isn't the same chips taste like they've been warmed up from the night before and food isn't very hot upon delivery. Chicken and sweetcorn soup has been very salty and sweet and sour sauce has no taste to it. Absolutely gutted because this place has always been our go too but not going to lie worried about ordering again spending a decent amount of money each time for the same to happen again 😢 UPDATE Well we thought we'd try again after your reply and unfortunately we were disappointed again 😔 chips tasted like they'd been warmed up the kids wouldn't eat them 😕 I thought I'd try the sweet and sour again and again hardly no sauce and ONE piece of pineapple! Asked for mayo on the hubby's meal and he didn't get any 🤷🏻‍♀️ not sure what's changed but it's doing you no favours whatever it is 😔

When the new owners took over this place it massively improved but over time it's gown down in quality of food. Ordered last night. The banquet for 1 has doubled in price. I know things have gone up but not requiring a doubling in price. The sweet and sour chicken was very poor. The prawn toast burnt and not a prawn in sight. I'd rather drive to another takeaway than use again which is a real shame as I like to support local businesses in the local area but not willing to waste my money on really poor food at a premium price

Been ordering from Calland's Fryer for years and the food is always lovely, the best chippy in Callands! The fish and chips are always fresh and great value for money! Staff are always helpful and the food is always nice from here.

Very very bad service, food was stone cold , and the manager said its are faulty, he needs to step up on his management skills , and respect customers feed back, they spend good money, and food should be delivered hot, not stone cold that its not eatable

Ordered 3 hours ago and spent over £30!! Tried ringing constantly from 3 different numbers and they're just blatantly ignoring us. They LIED to us once we had got through and said that the driver had our food this was an hour ago at 8:15. Think it's just out of order and we've had to now cancel our order and haven't even been offered a refund!!!

Great food and reasonably priced. Deffo my new go to chippy for a Friday night treat. Also now a Thursday night go to when I arrive back on UK soil.

Not been here for a long time, fair to say won’t be going back. I had ..Chips, peas and gravy (at first wrong order given).. tasteless and barely warm. Hubby had chips, fish and a tub of curry, he said the fish was ok but the chips were cold. If you want a nice chippy tea don’t waste your money.

Portion sizes are very small ordered a large chips and thought they’d made a mistake so I asked to make sure, not great value for money compared to other places

The large fish is exactly the same size as the small fish I know as I have measured them and have weighed them it is not really fair to charge more for the same sized fish probably illegal under weights and measures law.

Never had to post a review before but food from The Great Depression era seems more bearable than this. Used to go here when I was a kid and always used to be decent but not even attempting to eat this at this point as literally 3 bites in and my stomachs already moving mad.

Second time of giving this place a try. Absolutely vile. The chips are undercooked but some are overcooked. Over greasy..i get some grease is normal but this was swimming. I feel robbed of my hard earned money as its in the bin.

Went to Callands Fryer tonight and ordered a freshly cooked fish, was told that the fish in the warmer had only just come out 5 mins ago. Fish carry on cooking and dry out in the warmer...the woman behind the counter asked in English for a freshly cooked one to which the owner started waving his arms pointing at the clock. Eventually he put one in but carried on complaining, in their own language. When I asked the woman was he complaining about my request she said they were talking about her shift for the weekend...funny that pointing at the clock and the fryer!!! Most decent chippies ask you to state you want fish on arrival, so I can't understand the ignorance and arrogance of the staff. Won't be visiting there again for overpriced overcooked food 🤬😡 Fish was over cooked and peas like bullets .

We order from here quite regularly as the food is really good and we live nearby so pick it up. However lately the omelettes we order once in a while have gone a bit down in quality. There was way too much salt on one of the last ones and anothet one looked like scrambled egg had been put over it. Either they have a new cook or something went very wrong. As I said it is usually really nice from there and we love their fish. We will still order from them as they work hard and deserve the custom.

Popped into get my Nan some tea, it looked lovely! So nice in fact I was planning on heading back with the Mrs that night, unfortunately though my Nan got rather poorly in the few hours after eating it

Had Chinese ordered my little boy salt and pepper chips!! Chips under cooked & like mush in the tray.... Mushy chips but hard under cooked chips and tasteless. He didn’t eat them. Shame as it spoils the meal.... The other content of the meal was very nice tho - beef in black bean & chicken in cashew nut rice - salt & pepper chicken then chow-main nuggets....

Loads to choose from, we had Chinese which was really good. The online ordering system is clear and easy to use.

Always a good meal from here. Cooked fresh, clean and welcoming shop and you get a lot for your money! I often get sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice and it's always been spot on. Other meals have been just as good too! I've also heard good things about their salt and pepper chips! The chips are proper chip shop chips and put in a cardboard box which keeps them perfect. Highly reccomend a visit or use their delivery service.

Never ate from this place, but they should at least teach there staff customer service. Delivery driver in the red car very aggressive abusive. Please change your drivers (Red boy racing look alike car 😂)

Couple of weeks back I and my office colleagues ordered fish and chips, mine had NO salt and viniger. This time around one of the orders was wrong (fish and peas been given WRONG ORDER), and forgotten my dinner. I will NOT order again.

Great food great price delivery is a bit long but it's worth the wait.

Food is good. Delivery is awful. 3 hrs for a set meal to be delivered. Staff not concerned. Shame. After contacting, manager promised a discount code for next order. Never arrived. Never mind.......

Called ahead to make an order, told 15 mins, arrived and ended up waiting another 40 mins only to be told repeatedly "You're next". Clearly they lie to get the business when they are clearly overloaded at the expense of wasting people's time. The food itself wasn't bad so I've added 1 star for that. I wouldn't trust their word when it comes to times. Unreliable.

We moved to Callands in February and have used Callands fryer a few times and always find it yummy, reasonably priced and great service, tonight we had a tiny issue with our order, I messaged them and no more than 15 mins later a guy turned up with another portion, excellent service, highly recommend!

Poor chips which were small in size for some reason and not a full size chip. The curry sauce was bland. The only positive was the staff who were efficient and professional but this place has gone down hill.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had! S&p chicken was raw inside, pink and undercooked. Ribs were fatty, grisley and disgusting.

Not my regular place for fish and chips but decided to give it a go. Fish was lightly battered and crispy, chips were good. My only criticism is that fish weren't cooked to order but I would go again. Edit: I gave this place another chance for fish and chips. Saturday evening 17/07/21 the shop wasn’t busy but there were 6 fish in the cabinet so no cooking to order and looked like they’d been there for some time. The fish I was served was stale with chewy batter although the chips weren’t bad. Not sure if I’ll return.

Since the previous owner left this place has took a downward dive won't be using again.

Disorganised. We've been there three times and been disappointed three times. Last time fish was bone dry. First time I've ever had that from a chippy. Would be my last choice for fish and chips.

I have ordered from here many times and always been happy with everything, but tonight the fish and chips I ordered was not very nice. The fish was not very hot and the batter was chewy, almost like it had been cooked earlier and just reheated. It was not very nice at all. It is a shame as I have never been dissatisfied with any meal before from you.

Food left on the side for 5 minutes, they wasn't busy , just ignored it being there, sorry you wasn't busy as 4 staff on including new starter and as I stood outside could see what was happening , very dissatisfied

Nice chippy tea, arrangements slightly chaotic

Ordered at 17.50 for 19.30 delivery. Food arrived at 20.00. Sweet and sour pork, fried rice and chicken and sweetcorn soup was barely warm, pork was too tough to eat. Salt and pepper chicken wings were just about edibel. Have ordered from here dozens of times, this has to be the most dissapointing of yet. A complete waste of money. They don't answer the phone when you call to complain. Will be giving it a miss from now on.

It’s got 4 stars from me, food is amazing, but they need to employ more delivery drivers... knew it was going to be 90 mins max, went over that with a 10 year old hungry child pecking my head.

It’s was ok the salt and pepper chicken was Beautiful. The noodles would have been nice but they where drowning in soy sauce to the point they were nearly inedible witch was a shame The curry sauce was like wallpaper paste gutted. Been again and this time I have to say it was spot on rice was lovely salt and pepper chicken was again very good portion was massive thank you.

Second time I've been and ordered salt and pepper fish and they have used fish that is in a tray in heater over Fryer's And same again dry tasteless and batter like rubber! And this after this response I'm really sorry about this, usually when we make the salt and pepper fish like this they sell out fast as we are busy so it is fresh, however we were quiet last night, I will make sure this doesn't happen again.

The food was lovely....but you have to queue outside, order, then go back outside to wait for your food. A bit too much flakery for me...but like I say, the food was ok.

Terrible food , stay away get a delivery from a proved food supplier ! , I did complain but was offered free mushy peas on my next visit Stay clear terrible food

I use Callands fryer quite regularly and for the majority of the time food has been of a good standard. On my recent occasion, i ordered a beef cantonese. when i opened the meal, I thought I had ordered an onion cantonese with the cantonese sauce tasting and looking more like a vinegary gravy. I would recommend this particular menu being altered to look and taste like a cantonese beef. As mentioned, normally food is good but this menu was dissapointing. Too much onion and no other veg. I hope this can be looked at as most other menus are pretty good.

Never let's us down . One of the best fish and chip shops in warrington . Nice chinese too .

By far the best place in Warrington. I've never ever got a bad experience from here. Very friendly and professional staff there too. The first time I got food delivered from the Callands Fryer I said to my partner that I didn't want to finish it and she asked was there something wrong with it, No says I, it's just that I don't want it to be gone.

Absolutely awful. Called in a full half hour before they closed to be told the fryer had been turned off so no fish. This has happened a few times now. VERY DISAPOINTING SERVICE.

You can't beat their freshly cooked fish and chips

Stay well away if you're in persuit of a perfect battered cod,t these serve up a shrunk, dried,overcooked cod/fish at a cost of £3.70. if you want a perfect cod cooked the way it should be then go to Harry's fish bar in penketh......!!.

Great fish n chips with fresh fish usually cooked to order.

Waited 40 minutes for sausage dinner. No apology for the delay. The slowest chippy I've ever seen and served people skipping the queue before us. Also the meal was quite small aswell wouldn't recommend.

A fantastic chippy with all the traditional fish and chips, pies, sausages, steak puddings, etc. There is plenty of parking available and a local convenience store / post office a couple of doors away.

Now under new management. Great chippy, Chinese and kebabs.

Food freshly prepared, and fairly priced. Always a good standby.
