Caliendo's Gelato in Camden

Fabulous gelato just around the corner from my house :))) Feel very lucky to have this so close to me. The flavours are to die for and it's soo deliciously creamy.

I read about this London based gelataria online when it won the 2023 "Ice-cream Parlour of the Year Award". I live an hour train ride away from London but a couple of months later, the very next time I visited London, I made a point to go visit Caliendo's to get an ice-cream. They had a good selection of gelato and I was immediately intrigued by the 'Marmite Buttered Toast' flavour... I asked to try a little bit and was immediately hooked. So I went for two scoops, (which were pretty generous scoops), one of the Marmite Buttered Toast and one of the Strawberry Eton Mess. Both flavours were delicious, absolutely gorgeous gelato. There is a small area inside the parlour for eating in but as it was a sunny June day I walked and ate mine as I headed to Camden Market.

I visited the day after they'd been awarded UK's Ice Cream Parlour of the year - thoroughly deserved, the place is amazing, the flavours are great.

Caliendo's is the kind of gem that once you've been you can't wait to go back. Sweet, Savoury, Coffee and Cake, they cater for everybody (even our four legged gelato loving friends!). The staff our always friendly and welcoming and its a real pleasure to chat to the chef about the days offerings and the tease of delicious sounding flavours she is working on, and how they source only the best ingredients. The sorbets are a highlight for my partner and I've also brought along some vegan friends who were amazed at the number of flavours available to them. In town with 2 teenage boys whose recommendations are hard won! However the gelato in this shop turned two monosyllabic teenagers into two effervescent young people- who absolutely loved the selection of flavours and the gelato itself. We actually went back for seconds. The staff were super helpful and knowledgeable and were keen to share their knowledge about how the care and attention that is put into the making of the gelato. Kudos to the owners - you have clearly put love and energy into your produce, which is shared by your staff. A pleasure to visit and try your excellent produce, we will definitely be back.

A small portion here is actually quite a large portion of ice cream (£3.80). I asked if I could try two flavours in a small cup, and was rather abruptly told “we don’t do half scoops”. Rather a shame - and out of line with other gelato shops.

You can taste the quality of the ingredients in the gelato from this shop. I particularly love the pistachio. They also have a wide vegan range and honestly its as good as the real thing. Edible cups are a nice bonus too.

First and most importantly delicious authentic gelato, "like mama used to make" 🍨 so smooth and creamy! great staff, eco friendly edible cups and huuuuge scoops. Classic and original flavours which are constantly changing made by the in-house chef! I don't like sorbet usually but the Apple & pomegranate and chocolate vegan sorbets are next level delicious! The worst thing is deciding which flavour to try next!

Love this place. Run by two lovely girls who have been trained in the art of gelato in Italy so they know what they're talking about. Loads of different flavours made daily and great with waffles

The sign on the door said this place was open from 12 lunchtime on Mondays so I went shortly after 12 lunchtime on Monday and it was closed. My experience of this place is that it is not always open during the times specified on the door. It’s a shame that it’s not always open when they say it should be open. This is my experience of this place, it’s not my opinion- it’s factual information about this establishment.

I visit a couple of times per week, and have to say the ladies that run this shop serve the best gelato in London! I love the fact the flavours change daily, and that you can see it being made through the viewing window in the shop! No nasty mass production here!! Also, no one makes a cappuccino like a real Italian, so if you like authentic Italian food and drink this is the place to go!

If you are looking for the best gelato in London then this is it.. a meal in itself and the most delicious flavours .. already looking forward to my next trip xx

These two know what they are doing when it comes to gelato.. passionate about their products and it shows.. great tasting gelato and I was only sad not to be in London long enough to taste the marmite on toast flavour..

The gelato is absolutely delicious and the service is so friendly. We’ve been twice, once for sundaes and once for cones, and both times the food’s been exceptional. It’s also very reasonably priced. The mango gelato has become my sisters favourite so no doubt we’ll be visiting lots! Thank you

Stopped for a cuppa and then a superb chocolate cone and it was fantastic. Have to say its the finest ice cream I've tasted. And the most impressive thing is that its all made onsite (in view of the customer) not imported in already made. Nice place to visit too (very quirky). I'm defiantly calling again :-)

Ordered for delivery. Staff packed the order and handed to the delivery driver very quickly so it wasn't sitting around. I find that most delivery ice creams arrive partially melted but staff had packaged it really well so it was still fully frozen. Ice cream...

Only discovered this shop today. We will defiantly be going back. The ice cream taste amazing, lots of flavours to try. all made on site with quality ingredients. The lady serving us was so friendly and accommodating, this all made for a first class experience....

Amazing artisan gelato served and made by two lovely ladies. I had such a nice lunch break eating some of the best pistachio I have had outside Italy. Big plus, the owners are so passionate and knowledgeable about their job and would happily tell you...
