The Bake House is hands down my favorite local bakery! Ever since I tried their goodies, I just can’t bring myself to buy French sticks or bloomers from the big supermarkets anymore. The quality is simply amazing! Plus, the staff are super friendly and always greet you with a smile. If you can, try to swing by early and grab some of their mini donuts—they're absolutely delicious! Just a little tip: make sure to get there fast, because they go quickly!

A neighbour recommended by saying "they have the best sourdough" so we had to try it out. And it was true! Since the first time we've tried their pastries as well and everything is delicious and light! The service is great, very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

Spent more than I thought I would, but it was worth every penny! To find an 'old-fashioned' yet modern bakery selling things remembered from childhood and current items eg sourdough. I can't remember the last time I saw an Eccles Cake. Will definitely be going back.

Enjoy coming here on weekend mornings for their great range of freshly baked breads and traditional bakes, and the very friendly staff. The soda bread and bread pudding are especially good and excellent value.

Really ignorant staff! Shop isn’t the cleanest, food openly exposed and as you walk in the door loafs of bread stacked where people brush past and can touch / cough etc.

I buy food here regularly and the staff are always so friendly and the bread fresh. Also the jam donuts are amazing 😍. I also get the Too Good To Go bags and they are so full the best you can get for value.

The two lady's were very friendly, these sort of places are hard to come by these days. Well made, classic English baked treats too

Went here today for the 1st time, I didn't know about this place even though I live 3-4 miles away. There's, a famous bakery in Leysdown that has that sense of togetherness and community that the big corporations will never have. Bakehouse has all of that, the Staff very welcoming and having a bit of banter with you, other customers joining in that you never met before. I'll tell you if the world had more place like this then place like Greggs wouldn't survive selling their terrible food. Will definitely be using this a lot more.

Love their jam sugar doughnuts and also their freshly made crusty or soft rolls.

Crusty rolls are to die for along with a great selection of sweet treats. Great staff to boot!

I guess it depends on who is working at the time of your order. Today I received in delivery my 2 bacon rolls with completely dried out and hard bacon, and the bacon tasted like fish. I have had sausage rolls before where the sausage tasted off and had to be thrown out. For £4.25 for a hot roll one should expect at least a paper napkin in the bag or a salad leaf... none of that. It's intermittent quality - hence my low mark. Quite expensive for two slices of dry bacon and some unidentified substance that is passed as butter.

Absolutely fantastic in all areas from the staff that are absolutely amazing and wonderful and polite to the food what is beautiful if your ever in the area or even passing by do drop in and sample their food you certainly won't be disappointed

Kind and good staff, good but very sweet desserts, I instead chose the English breakfast, which my children literally devoured. A little cleaning outside near the tables (low maintenance) would make everything perfect

I support someone who has a learning disability to the bakehouse once a week, he loves the cakes but really likes the staff who are so friendly and understanding of his support needs. A big thank you to Jackie, Max and James the Baker.

Total rip off! I was charged £4.60 for a small stale loaf and £2.75 for a poor piece of Tottenham Cake. Low quality at high prices.

Love the bread and cakes my husband bought 1 bloomer loaf 1 slice of Tottenham cake and 1 slice of jam coconut cake and was charged £8.00 tried to telephone to query this but no one answers the phone I think that's very pricey so won't be a returning customer

Bread pudding to die for. Very tasty coffee and freshly made bread...a real hidden gem and glad to see a bakery that's been running 46 years is still keeping as many of its traditions as possible.

Went there on my first day in London and was instantly greeted with kind service and delicious food. The bread as well as the other baked goods were great! Went there on my last day as well and wasn't disappointed. Kind people and good food!

I had a bad experience, went to the bakery to purchase rolls; the older lady was so moody and made no contact with me waiting, but was busy serving the same customer her colleague was serving. Then she served 2 guys in between and so I jumped in to be served and she said I am serving this lady so I said you just served 2 guys before me and she just ignored and carried on. Never will I go into this bakery again specially as they don't care about customers or customer service. The older ladies attitude is very rude, ignorant and comes across as she does not want to be there. Leave the job; let someone who cares be there. : (

We picked up breakfast this morning and everything was delicious. The apple pastries were to die for. As a group with nut and peanut allergies, it was also nice to find nut-free options.

I went here with my relatives for my holiday in England. We had a breakfast here, everything was excellent. Five stars.

Lovely sandwiches and bread, not many bakeries around like that anymore, nice homemade stuff and not too expensive. A go to for lunch in the area and opposite a park so you can take in the ambience.

Been in here everyday for lunch this past month.. can not get enough of jackies tasty baguettes and kellys delicious cakes. Make sure you feel your belly up and pop in to the bakehouse if ever in the bermondsey area... you wont be disappointed

Visited The Bakehouse again on a trip along the high street, and had to stop in for a snack. As usual, I received amazing service (from Maxine and Amanda). They were both Incredibly kind and polite. I felt instantly welcomed. They had a huge selection of food, and it all appears to be freshly cooked in-house. I've never been disappointed when buying from here. The food was nice and hot, and tasted absolutely amazing. I will be back here without a doubt. Kind staff, quick service, fairly priced food. It ticks all the boxes. I highly recommend a trip to The Bakehouse! Favourite menu item has to be the Bacon & Cheese Twist. It's full of good cheese and multiple thick rashers of bacon, wrapped in puff pastry. Amazing!

I'm genuinely surprised that this shop has such lovely reviews. I was very excited about trying the bakery as I had read the pastries and cakes are amazing and the shop looked really nice from the outside. When I entered the shop the older lady with dark hair was tidying up and looked very annoyed by the fact that I was there and I wanted to buy something. The younger lady, with a slightly better attitude, got my order. The bread was stale, most of the pastries were overly sweet and didn't taste fresh, and the two pieces of cake I bought were inedible (one was actually not fully baked and was raw in the middle). I certainly won't go back.

Won’t be eating from here again, darker haired lady is so rude and frustrated when ordering, only likes 1 item ordered at a time and gets the hump if you add coffees onto your order. I suffer from adud and when she’s huffing and puffing it makes me extremely embarrassed in front of people. Blonde haired lady was very kind and had to correct her attitude.

What a lovely friendly bakery, rare to find a true on the premises bakehouse these days, bread fresh out of the oven and the Auntie Violet sausage rolls were the best since Auntie Violet's! keep up the good work

Love this place! Great cakes, bread and excellent hot chocolate. Staff are amazing especially Kelly who always has time to tall to my daughter who is very shy but Kelly always makes her smile. She loves the pink cake!

The ladies are a chatty friendly lot and the food is very good. I used to drive here to grab lunch and have never been disappointed. They have a great selection of breads and rolls and the cakes are very good too. Perhaps slightly pricey for some but the quality is definitely there and the ladies chat and banter always brightened my day.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, WENT IN THERE A FEW DAYS AGO IT WAS VERY BUSY I COULD NOT WAIT AS I WALKED OUT THE SHOP THE ASSISTENT BEHIND THE COUNTER SHOUTED TO ME SAYING OH YOUR NOT STAYING THEN BYE HOW RUDE I HOPE THIS PLACE GETS SHUT DOWN AS IT IS VERY DIRTY DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHOP AVOID IT AT ALL COST.

I give up with this place. You have to wait ages to be served as all the staff are busy with Deliveroo type orders. As walk in customers you are considered the least important and I often leave without being served. They need to sort this out

This local bakery has a range of products such as bread and pastries. The quality I would say it’s pretty good. The part I liked the most about the shop is that feeling of a family run business that lacks in the majority of cases these days. The quality and the presentation of the product is nothing special I think but if only they could either renovate and tidy up the shop a bit or work a nicer display, it would give extra points against the local competitors.. Supporting local businesses like this is always a pleasure though.. best of luck!

This seems like a nice little bakery. I had a hankering for a chocolate muffin. But I have to say the chocolate muffin was decidedly disappointing. Maybe some of the other items in the shop are excellent but the chocolate muffin tasted like it was made from a packet. My bakery of choice is the French bakery in the blue, they are always reliable with some exceptional French pastries. This time however, I didn’t want a French pastry I wanted an English chocolate muffin. Maybe the shop could look at finding a new recipe, because this one was not great.

Can't recommend the Bakehouse highly enough. Friendly, helpful staff with a good choice of products, all of which taste amazing. The team went out of their way to help fulfil a 'short notice' order of forty items needed for a client meeting I was hosting. Very reasonable prices too.

The donuts from this place are very special and well worth a trip. In fact, everything I've tried has been very good. Highly recommended - just leave some donuts for me!

Lovely little artisan bakery with quality cakes and bread. Service is very warm and friendly, definitely worth a visit.

It seems to me that the price increase is excessive, these sweets used to cost 1.45 and overnight they have risen to 1.75 making an excuse that because of Brexit sugar has risen when it is at the same price all products, I hope they reconsider and lower the prices again because if they do not lose customers, I do not think I will buy again in this store.
