Caffè Nero in Cardiff

Probably the rudest, most passive aggressive barista I've ever met. Name is Damien, be prepared to be insulted as being served coffee.

Cosy and welcoming to everyone.. had a meeting with my partners in business and it was a great environment to have it in.

Really nice place with friendly staff to stop and have a coffee. The view outside on a sunny day is also lovely.

We visited this Caffè Nero branch for the first time in a few years and were very pleased with the service and drinks we received on our visit. We visited on a weekday morning and there were plenty of seats available at this time and no queue at the till, although it did pick up a bit while we were enjoying our drinks. We had our usual decaf cappuccino and luxury hot chocolate and were very pleased with the usual Caffè Nero standard.

Always stop here for my Flat White fix, Always friendly service and good coffee.

I like nero and I'm a regular customer but the staff is not friendly at all, it makes me want to avoid coming again.

Friendly staff and great coffee

The settees were torn and really worn. The coffee was very expensive and, in my opinion, doesn't taste better than some cheaper coffee shops. I hadn't visited Caffe Nero in a few years and had fond memories of it. Maybe it's just because the coffees I got there used to be free and were worth the price. 🤷🏼‍♂️

No vegan options at 3pm on a Thursday is ridiculous

Friendly staff with good coffee choices from Nero. Interior a bit outdated and 'tired' but was clean.

The pastries are always uncooked. The vitrina is always empty throughout the day. Only one particular barista can make coffee.

This is absolutely disgusting. The staff are friendly but the coffee machine itself is absolutely vile. Portafilter isn’t rinsed between shots, the group head doesn’t get flushed between shots, and neither the two shot glasses. I thought my coffee tasted funny and then watched a full line of people be served with filthy shot glasses and old coffee grounds visibly stuck on the head and portafilter basket. I think the only thing I saw cleaned was the steam wand. The staff are incredibly friendly, and they’re clearly doing what they can to serve a multitude of people but a rinse is incredibly easy to do as part of a normal workflow

Love Caffe Nero! The coffee is delicious, they always have pour in cream which is a must. Appetizing pastries and savories, the staff is friendly and efficient. My coffee is always made to perfection. There are 3 location in Cardiff which is also a plus.

Trinity street Cardiff (old howells store) I meet 3 friends there every week it’s great food, delicious pastry’s too! The staff are always polite and helpful .

Great little coffee shop, lovely seating area outside, coffee is always well made and they have a good selection of hot and cold snacks , I visit here at least twice a week , I find the staff friendly

Ordered food through Uber Eats today. An item was missing and my drink was incorrect. The food was cold and congealed and the cake was squashed. Uber Eats won't refund me & tell me to 'rate the restaurant'. The restaurant hasn't contacted me either. I'm disgusted. It was a simple order, and the restaurant couldn't even get it right.

Awsome to see it still there , coffee was very nice .. its a shame about the Howells , but tthe coffee shop is very nice .

Set within Howell Dept. Store (used to be the former foodhall). A lovely coffee and cake was had. Not sure how long it will stay open, as the store is due to close very soon.

An amazing place to stop off and refuel your family staff were amazing tea was great and atmosphere welcoming well done and when I visited they were under staff due to illness I would recommend this place all the time

My partner and I visited today, ordered, I was paying with the old style £20 note but was told these notes are not acceptable!! embarrassing to say the least.. These notes are in use until September, I contacted the Bank of England who confirmed this.. not good customer service.. Won’t be returning to this branch or any other Cafe Nero..

Disgusting experience. Entered through the House of Fraser entrance (there is no door to enter the cafe inside House of Fraser) and went to have a look at what was in the fridge to eat. The young man on the till went out of his way to come over to us looking and said “YOU HAVE TO JOIN THE QUEUE”. We didn’t know what was going on as we weren’t in the queue or trying to queue jump, we were just looking at what food was in the fridge which is located away from the queue and by the main door entrance. He walked away so my partner asked him what do you mean? He said “YOU SHOULD WAIT OUTSIDE. THE SIGN ON THE DOOR SAYS ONLY 3 PEOPLE AT A TIME” gesturing us to go out the main door. By this point, more people had entered the cafe, but only after we were already there looking at what was in the fridge. My partner said that we entered through the House of Fraser entrance and as there’s no door there, there’s no sign. He then said “DONT BE SARCASTIC WITH ME”. We then left without ordering. He made us feel embarrassed for no reason. It is noted that my partner was the only dark skinned person there and he did not make any comments to the people coming in after us who were all white. If there was a 3 person policy then everyone who entered after us should have all been told to leave as well but they weren’t. First time coming here and won’t be coming back. Shameful.

Best high Street coffee shop. Friendly staff and good service. Lost a star for not having a bathroom on site.

Went to the house of fraser nero last tuesday as my partner and I have 02 priority. The girl who served us was rather rude and condescending and even called me impatient because I went to scan my app too soon. My partners latte also had a very bitter aftertaste and he couldn't finish it. I'll stick to st davids nero the staff are always lovely there.

My favourite place to go...Great service...lady was so friendly...I had a chocolate and hazelnut frappe with cream on top...it was lush!!

I've always found the service here to be excellent; friendly baristas often going the extra mile in making guests welcome and ensuring best quality fayre. Seating is mixed; cosy chairs and sofas or wooden tables and chairs, but all perfectly comfortable in a surprisingly snug atmosphere (one could almost forget that this is a franchised section of a large department store).

Excellent service. Young girl on her own serving however she kept the queue moving and gave excellent service to all her customers. 👏
