Could do better, unfortunately some of the staff are lovely.

Visited this corner cafe after walking through the entire Lakeside mall. Big mistake. Told them to pack two toasties, takeaway; but they opened it and tried to make it warm. This is despite reminding them it was takeaways and not to do anything to it. Ordered a Honduras cafe latte, which definitely lacked any semblance to a cafe latte. Wouldn’t recommend it. The decor is worn down and could do with an urgent overhaul. Not like the other Cafe Nero outlets I’ve been to.

Let down by the rock hard cream bun and boiling coffee I had. The Batista's were very nice but, just a shame about everything.

Came here with my mum and dad and the guy serving us was just pure rude and really ruined our experience , iced pistachio latte was disgusting . He had treated the customers before us very nicely and politely with a smile and helped them out but when we ordered he decided to be very blunt with us . I asked a simple question of how the pistachio and caramel frappe was and he rolled his eyes at me and told me it tastes like how I would imagine it would . Then I asked to change it to a caramel frappe and that clearly really annoyed him . Like why would that annoy you it’s your job and responsibility to take care of us and make sure we have a good experience no? We are Pakistani people and we have a feeling that we were treated the way because of our ethnicity as he had treated the person before us who was white very kindly. never would I have thought that I would be treated so rudely in such a nice rated place . However apart from the rude service and the iced pistachio latte , the hot chocolate was alright and I personally liked my caramel frappe with cream . Definitely wouldn’t come again because of this horrible service . Very upset , I don’t personally like giving bad reviewers and I rarely get ver give bad ones but I felt like for this place it’s needed. If you want want good coffee and good service . My mum is also disabled and she’s now just told me that she was getting weird looks from the staff . This is disgusting. DONT COME HERE.

The manager was a lovely fellow - he provided exactly the amount of verbal abuse that I deserve. His attitude was the perfect balance of platonic aggression and mercurial yearning. The beverage I ordered was prepared with the pinnacle of grace and given to me with classic British timing. I am almost finished crying, and I’m sure to get my drink before the mall closes for the evening!

We always stop here for a coffee.

Great staff and what you would expect from a Nero. This one is on the small side compared to the other coffee shops and can sometimes get crowded depending on what time you get there.

Been going to this Nero for years, it is a nice respite from shopping and the best hot drinks in the shopping centre.

My favourite Cafe Nero branch, the shop has a lovely design and is so cosy, and the staff are all utterly lovely. Not only are they nice to me but I’ve seen them take extra care with their older clientele which is so great to see in this day and age. Delicious drinks and food.

£4.15 for a small decaf oat milk latte not even filled to the rim. Served by a very grumpy employee, with 20 mins to go til shop closure on a Monday eve at 19.39. firstly, we can all have bad days, but THAT grumpy, in a client facing role? And 2ndly, 45 pence for a little oatmilk, and 10p on top for decaf? The memo about economic downturn hasn't reached Nero's yet. I hope the popular vote will

Dishwasher was broken, drinks were being served in takeaway cups. Reusable forks were still wet & had soap bubbles on them, yuck.. Customer service was poor. Disinterested staff who didn’t give a flying flick, the tall guy with long hair was nasty, handling money then touching food/preparing drinks, plus he was rude and miserable too, extra brownie points!! Luxury hot chocolate was basically water and cocoa powder. Couldn’t finish my tiramisu as it was obviously old & soggy. Same with the sewer hot chocolate The actual cafe was dirty, old trays were still on the table & fruit flies all over the place. Will not recommend this overpriced coffee chain. Hold your contactless cards and use it elsewhere, even better. Make your own hot/cold drinks at home with the current state of the economy 😀!!

Packed out... Not enough seating

Such a busy shop. But only 2 staff serving. This also is a problem with cleaning and clearing the tables. The que was out the door way, and one woman only had a water to pay for.

Waiting for the new M&S to open I got a bacon roll.

Surprised that the price of the coffee was 35p more expensive than in my local Nero.

Limited range of excellent food and great, hand-made tea and coffee by the baristas.

Service is exceptional and the food is good. The coffee is the best in lakeside

Overpriced, staff abrupt and not very clean

The server was miserable, and the place needed a good clean.The seats were dirty, and there was dust laying about. He kept touching his hair and face, which you dont do unless you wash your hands, which he wasn't doing. The other server seemed to be working harder than the other one.I normally go there, and I might not if I see that server there.A smile goes a long way.

2star for food,as I food a hair on a chocolate twist. Very apologetic towards me afterwards. But please beware. Very busy and noisy at lunch time. Clean and tidy atmosphere otherwise.

Not up to the usual cafe nero standard. No smiles, poor service and will go elsewhere in future.

I'm a regular customer at Nero but the service I receive from one of the staff (male with long hair and a beard) is really poor. The rest of the staff is very friendly but he is always miserable and many times even rude ruining the morning coffee time.

Consistent in their taste and quality. Coffee is priced the same as other chains. Cafe is warm, staff are friendly and pretty quick, taking multiple orders and making no mistakes. Nice one team.

Service may need some work, seems understaffed and slow at peak times of the day! I've been a few times recently during lunch breaks at work and found a store at least half full with only one staff member in site! Beyond the apparent staffing issues, Caffè Nero has easily replaced Costa as my preferred coffee shop and where I can I will always opt for a Caffè Nero coffee over any other when out for a day or shopping, I just wish there were more of them local to me!

I didn't like the fact that the lady was sweeping the carpet at the doorway with the door shut while I was drinking my coffee. When asked if she could not do this she ignored me and carried on.

Courteous staff, prompt service and amazing coffee. Try their Peru coffee beans they are slightly sweet than the normal beans but are good.

Staff could do with some basic customer service training such as a simple smile when talking to customers and not making customers feel like they are inconveniencing them. I usually go to the Stratford branch and although much busier, staff always serve with a smile. The guys at Lakeside seem quite short and come accross rude, can't even blame it on being busy as it was quiet. Would not go back there for this reason. Coffees were good so 2 stars given for that. Customer service alone is 0 stars.

Sorry to say, but they were a bit slow behind the counter, yes there was a red t-shirt, but the other guy wasn't faster at all. Nice coffee though, happy to see new products like the coffee selection and new foods in the fridge.

I ask the man serving me if he would clean a table so we could sit down to have our coffee the chap serving me pointed to a table and said the cleaning products are there I said there are cups and disused packets on the tables surely you don’t expect me to clear the table with out saying a word he went and cleared the cups from the tables then went back behind the counter I had to ask again for him to clear the rubbish and wipe the table down which he did with out saying a word I found him to have an attitude and rude Won’t go back there again
