The café’s atmosphere, drinks, bakery items, music, and baristas are all excellent. My barista, in particular, was very friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious, but I especially recommend the cinnamon swirl to go with your coffee!

Update: Woman serving with long brown hair is rude to me and other customers, then openly bad mouths them after they leave the store when she wouldn't serve what they wanted. Not a nice experience. Lovely coffee shop, excellent service! 5 stars 🌟

I have always loved this place for the atmosphere and the food, but the staff are always really nice and friendly. Bex always greets people with a smile and is always friendly and welcoming to all the customers no matter who they are.

Excellent service from Bexs at Harborne, full of energy, it is so easy to be not very welcoming very early in the morning, great coffee as well.

Wonderful staff but completely understaffed felt so sorry for the 2 guys place is very dirty love the coffe and staff but impossible for how busy it is for them 2 keep it clean absolutely disgusting Nero you make enough money get more staff before your reported health and hygiene !

Left us standing at the counter for almost 10 minutes whilst they had a chat and did the cleaning.Brought food to table and didn't speak or respond even we said Thank you.Customer came in with a dog that smelled not a good experience 2 coffees 2 sandwiches and a teacake over £20 and we had a money off voucher so pricey for worse than a greasy spoon

Hygiene fail. Dogs in a cafe seems bad enough, unless guide dogs. But dogs on the chairs? Seriously? It's not the cleanest place as it is.

Really nice team of staff who take the time to make very nice drinks to customers' liking. Josh & Jade in particular are great and very friendly to me and my family. Thank you for always making our after school visits a happy experience!

Harborne has more cafes than most people could imagine, but Cafe Nero still has the best coffee, croissants and service.

Not as good as it use to be but staff under pressure

Some of the staff are shocking... One of the girls is so rude and has such a bad attitude, also her uniform is never clean. I wonder how she got employed! Zero manners and obviously does not follow the uniform policy of Nero coffee

This was my first and definitely my last visit there I ordered Pistachio iced latte and cheesecake and they tasted really bad couldn't even finish them the Pistachio cake tasted really good

Why are all caffe Nero staff so miserable and unwelcoming? Give your staff some training - you could learn a thing or 2 from Pret a Manger.

I really like the coffee at Caffè Nero, but the one in Harborne is always really dirty. I do wish they could sort this out. Others that I have been to have been so much cleaner and nicer.

Good quality coffee and a nice comfortable environment

Sadly no more Free 02 coffee but still pleasant surroundings with pleasant staff however far too often coffee not in a proper cup and closes too early. Gone way down hill since complete change of staff even putting out frozen cakes 1 hour before closing. Can understand if the particular cake was sold out but not in any other circumstance. Still a lovely place to sit but sadly service is no longer what it was.

Caught the manager Julie talking behind my back whilst I was at counter and she didn't realise. Very poor manners, poor management skills and speaking to a colleague is showing this bad practice to her staff. If I behaved like this I'd be ashamed to be a manager.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. I walked in with my brother who I was treating to a cold drink on a hot day. We walked to the counter where a woman with black hair was standing moody as ever. Did not greet us in any way just stared at us as if to say “and why are you here”. I then politely said we have a voucher code to which she replied ok very unenthusiastically. I then proceeded to try and order two cold drinks and she interrupted me saying “no ice”. Confused I said “sorry?” And she said “no ice. There’s signs everywhere”. These signs were 2 small ripped pieces of paper with small hand written writing on. I was disgusted. Never again. It Was a good thing as we ended up going to Costa up the road who were fab (see Costa review). Poor poor service.

The only suburban Caffe Nero in Birmingham. In a very large shop space. Been several times over the years. The Cloud WiFi. Toilets at the rear of the store. Friendly staff. Just wish other Nero's could open in the Birmingham suburbs one day. As the City Centre is currently down to four out of seven. Perhaps open in Kings Heath?

Good atmosphere . Friendly staff and great coffee. Unfortunately today we had to wait 15 minutes to get served with a queue of 2 people. One girl was very slow the other went off to clear a table and chat to customers. Poor service

The staff aren't very friendly at all, Stopped going to this cafe due to no customer service skills.

Queued quite a while (10minutes) on a Saturday afternoon. Coffee was lovely, worth waiting for. Lots of dirty tables needed clearing, staff were focussing on serving drinks. Could use a few more people at peak times. Paid by card, opted for no receipt, couldn’t see any obvious way to give feedback, hence this review.

Grabbed a flat white at Caffe Nero Harborne, birmingham. App works well both for collecting loyalty stamps and paying. Efficient, but quite a big queue.

Been using the App recently but had a few old stamps on the card which I wanted to transfer over. Was served by an extremely professional and helpful person called Reese. It was somewhat busy, as morning rush hour but he took the time out to help me. So much appreciated, as can be a bit of s nuisance asking someone to take a look. The other lady could take heed, as she just said go message customer services and we are regulars.

This is a really nice caffe, Great decor work with plenty of seating space. Slow service with not enough staff for busy periods. Coffee taste is okay, can be better. Chocolate pistachios cake tastes great.

The place is great, no faults there, even on a busy evening, there were still places. The service though and in particular, service from a purple haired girl, has kind of ruined my day. I work in customer service I know how it is when you are short staffed, I've worked in cafes and restaurants and know how it is. But when I'm waiting in line and you haven't even served me yet and you're already rolling your eyes at me because I have 2 sandwiches in my hand that you would have to heat, yes, that sets the tone for the kind of service I will have. My turn comes and I haven't even said hi and she already stated with quite a lot of attitude and I hate that word for a woman, that I will have to wait because this is going to take a long time to heat. I am aware I want them warmed up and I am aware I will have to wait for them, but the attitude was not needed. The sandwiches were more or less thrown in the grill. I am nice, extra nice, a pushover sometimes and I really felt like my day has just been topped up with a sprinkle of meanness for no reason other than, you are short staffed, and I had a bad day at work too and I was trying to hold it together, until then. There was just no need for that. The drinks and the food were lovely, thank you though.

Please please please stop making the cafè freezing. I'm currently sitting in my jumper, coat, scarf and gloves and have been for the past 30 minutes. Mind you I'm sitting far away from the entrance door as well. It's really ruining the atmosphere/ experience, which is a shame! Lovely wide range of drinks and food. Great staff.

I walked in this Morning to have a hot Mocha only to be told you would be charged the same amount of money without the cream. I didn’t have a problem with paying the money but then asked the Barista named Harpreet (could be lying about the name to cover up, as her colleague served me after, he looked hesitant to give the correct name) if the Mocha has the price of cream included why can’t you deduct the price of cream of the amount if you don’t have cream in stock. She got really flustered and thought I was rude for asking and said she will not be serving me. As a customer I have right to ask. I was then talking to another customer who totally agreed that was unprofessional. Whilst I was talking to the fellow customer she abruptly interrupted my conversation shouted at me and said she can’t change price on the till. I told her that she is being rude now and she walked away from serving a paying customer !!! As a previous employee of Cafe Nero of 20 years ago and having worked as a barista I know fully well that you can deduct the price if you are being charged even 5%. Never had I been rude or disrespectful to customers whilst working for the company. Customer service has gone down from what was before. She didn’t apologise for her behaviour either which is disgusting.

Amazing people answer and the best service.... Nero is proving themselves the best among all other competitors. A recent trip where my kids also voted 8/10.

Asked for iced skinny latte, got warm milk because it was left out of fridge n coffee had to ask for ice to be put in. Cake was stale, staff were uninterested , place is filthy, toilets disgraceful , needs a good clean. I'm sorry but attitude of staff stinks !

I come there quite often, it's always busy and staff are under pressure, however they have new trainee guy and girls training him were quite rude and unprofessional towards him multiple times, customers notice these things. Yes, it's busy and hard during rush hours, however shouldn't talk to one another this way. Kinda sad.

I like their coffee and tea and the service is great everywhere: in Poland, in Birmi gham and in Belfast. Definitely will come back many times.

My favourite coffee. This Nero outle was a new one to me, bit as with all Neros, the quality of service and coffee is always second to none. Staff were very friendly and the place was comfortable and very clean.

I've grown up in Harborne, and have fond memories of cafe Nero from my teens. I stopped attending sometime in the mid 2010s as the service was consistently so unpleasant. Around 2019-2020 I started to use Nero in Harborne again and found that the service in 2020-21 had really turned around, staff were friendly, conscientious and polite. My wife and I still use this cafe on mornings where we have early starts and no where else is open, begrudgingly, the service is consistently terrible with staff dragging their heels, sighing/eye-rolling and other passive-aggressive demonstrations of rudeness and immaturity. Starting to resent putting any money in the till of this business.

I love coming here! For a franchise the staff offer a really personalised experience. The last two years I have been living in Harborne, I’ve visited at least once every 2 weeks. The locals are friendly and all know each other and there are many regulars. But the staff are what make this place. If I haven’t been happy with the drink they’ll change it, or be really accommodating like when I spilled my coffee on the floor from being exhausted, Juile wouldn’t allow me to clean it up (I’m one of those people who has to clean up after themselves, I’ll go home worrying about it later!) but she wouldn’t have any of it and neither would the staff. She remade me another coffee and said it’s okay. Just that reassurance and noticing that I was completely exhausted. Kindest treatment I’ve had from another human being in while. Thank you ❤️

Sometimes coffee is hit and miss recently. Last 3 months. Otherwise nice. They seem to struggle with staffing to keep clean and tidy. Snacks nice. Not as friendly as used to be. Frequent often.

Probably worse Cafe Nero in the region. The quality of the drinks is always poor, the customer attendance often poor and slow, and the store is often dirty. We often have to wait for the bartenders to finish their conversations to be served or we get a very poor quality cafe. A couple of bartenders are specifically extremely slow, unmotivated, unprofessional and do not follow h&s requirements of a food/drinks serving place.

Miserable staff, coffee is good but blimey what does it take to get a smile out of the staff....it kind of spoils the whole experience.

The food and hot drinks available are not bad, when they do special flavours during peiods, it's a must! However, the staff aren't the friendliest, and I think a smile is a concept they are not familiar with. The idea behind customer service is the ability to interact with your customers, not at this store! Unfortunately, it's the only Café Nero near me in the very limited shop fronts they have, so I have no choice but to attend this one.

Cozzy atmosphere, fast and friendly staff, above British average hygiene, great light and ambience. Great variety and quality of products. Pet and family friendly. We had a great time escaping from a snowy day. Most important: The greatest chai latte I've had in my life, smooth and right temperature, good balance of spices. Totally recommended!

Great place for a quick coffee but also to work. Nice atmosphere and very clean. Only negative is that when it's busy, service can be really slow but the staff are working hard and are very apologetic, so I'd advice customers to be patient!

I used to work for Neros and absolutely love the company, however today I was queueing for a take out, no issue to queue obviously - but there was a trainee who was talking to a permanent member of staff, gossiping and using bad language in front of customers. I remember how it felt to be a trainee and I know it’s difficult, but prioritising customer is ideal! Unfortunately a lady in front of me got incredibly frustrated and was not the kindest, and for that I’m sorry the staff dealt with that, but I do feel the attitude should be addressed with the employees.

this place is such a gem! really cosy ambience, great lighting (sit at the back, the skylight is amazing!), lovely music choice and most importantly - delicious coffee!

It is a potentially brilliant coffee shop. The ambience is good and the coffee is great. Unfortunately it's a bit shabby and the staff are so busy that the queue is too long when busy. I had to clear and clean my own table and the toilet is shocking.

I think Cafe Nero is the best of the major chains. I have always found the standard of the coffee to be good. The cakes are not always brilliant. The staff members can vary but it is only rarely that I have felt the service to be wanting

Generally, Caffe Nero has been a lovely place to visit. Staff are friendly and we always manage to find a table. However, repeatedly had instances where items on the board have not been available. Despite this, the hot chocolate is always delicious!
