Cafe Rouge in Greenwich

Excelente para café da manhã na região, o engloba breakfast estava muito saboroso. O café espresso também é muito bom. Atendimento muito atencioso da equipe.

Atendimento muito ruim, xícaras sujas quando pedimos para trocar atende ficou olhando para ver onde estava sujo ( fazendo caras e bocas), e acredite era muito visível. Mais de 30 minutos tentando atendimento para pagar, descaso total com cliente.

¡Cafe Rouge en la calle Stockwell en Greenwich es el bistró de mi corazón! La comida es excelente y el personal muy amable con los clientes. Charlotte, la camarera, una encantadora dama francesa con personalidad vibrante es siempre la más cálida bienvenida del café, ¡extremadamente servicial y muy atenta! Su servicio es el mejor, insuperable! De vez en cuando me encuentro con amigos para tomar un café y muy a menudo termino quedando más tiempo para cenar. La última vez que visité ayer por la noche con un amigo y terminé teniendo dos platos principales, ¡ya que no podía elegir (!) Ya que ambos platos son deliciosos!

I’ve always wanted to go to the Greenwhich Cafe Rouge because of its front facade and its position in a very busy and touristy area. I assumed that it would be a vibrant and welcoming version of this well known chain.I was sadly disappointed and will never return due to poor service and sub-standard food. Having to wait is not usually a problem when you’re with friends and having a good time, but boy did we wait: my starter arrived, the other 3 that were ordered didn’t. Apparently we didn’t order 3 lots of prawns, which by the way were anaemic looking and not as good as ones I’ve had before (once they finally arrived). Staff killed the atmosphere which prompted the discussion, do people who work in this industry have to come to work happy? No they don’t but they at least need to ensure that when serving customers they have a generally positive attitude/approach. We did not feel looked after hence why we didn’t leave a tip! I hope they take note. I feel that our food was reheated rather than cooked from fresh and when the same two dishes look different that’s a problem for me. I will never return.

Very well located overlooking the main road and good seating arrangements.could do with the addition of more staff. the uality and pricing of food is decent.

I’ve not eaten in a Cafe Rouge for at least 6/7 years but got a Groupon deal for a 3 course meal for 2 people so decided to visit again as my memories of earlier visits had been quite good. The selection from the Taste of Rouge menu was quite extensive with choices for all tastes, but the food itself has gone markedly downhill from my visits years ago. The french onion soup used to have plenty of onions and melted cheese on top, but this time round it was just a light sprinkle of cheese on a somewhat watery soup. The medium rare order of steak was delivered medium well and the doughnuts with chocolate dipping sauce, well three out of five of them were rock hard in the middle instead of soft and pillowy. Clearly not made fresh. The Apple and blackberry crumble sounded delicious but was so tart, but don’t worry it comes with creme anglais - a tiny pot equivalent to a tablespoonful - no joke!The lunch itself took about 2 hours which is way too long; we were pretty much forgotten once our mains were finished and had to wait ages to order our dessert. Despite our waitress being lovely and working non stop the service left a lot to be desired. I would suggest heading a little further afield to somewhere like Cote in Blackheath if you are looking for nice french food. Their lunch menu although slightly more limited is miles better in quality and taste then at Cafe Rouge.

Went with my niece and sis to have a nice coffee break. The waitress seemed upset as soon as I asked her for vegan options. They haven’t been clear and/or friendly advising options either keen to listen to what we were asking for. We ended up with a different dessert than we asked and they were upset when I explained to them they should be careful in case somebody has an allergy. They discounted the dessert from the bill as if that was the whole point! Really really terrible service and awful experience. Avoid it!

As a vegan was mistreated. I ordered a sweet dessert and was served a different one, despite of ask the the kitchen porter, several times. They don't listen when you speak!! The menu is confusing and don't have the minimum items for vegan people.

Sons birthday so travelled to London from Manchester and added onto his table that he booked! Food was lovely, nice atmosphere but the place was very short staffed, manager brought in from another restaurant. Our waiter, Pijus said it was his first day! He was so nice and made a big attempt to make our meal special but he seemed to have far too many tables to serve, it was like he had half the place to do on his own, resulting in us having to wait a long time between courses! Well done to our waiter for keeping it going but managemenet need to look at staffing levels cos he can't do it on his own!

Very typical Cafe Rouge restaurant setting in perfect location in Greenwich. Great service with super waitress very attentive even when a busy Saturday evening. Food was enjoyable and hot. Great drinks selection too although some pricey wine on offer. Nice place on any occasion

Veo un servicio lento es una cosa con este restaurante. Esperamos bastante tiempo para que nos sentaran a pesar de ser una noche tranquila. Nuestros platos principales tardaron más de una hora en llegar. Mi comida estaba bien, confitada de pato, pero la de mi amigo era incomible, croque, señora y papas fritas. Hemos comido aquí antes y la comida ha estado bien, pero no creo que vayamos a ir allí de nuevo.

Este Cafe Rouge ha estado en el giro hacia abajo por un tiempo desafortunadamente - servicio lento y desinteresado; Comida fría y malas recreaciones de viejos favoritos. Sin embargo, una visita reciente fue el último clavo en el ataúd, ya que nos recibió una camarera abiertamente hostil, (muy desagradable), que nos informó que no podíamos tener una mesa, ya que no habíamos hecho una reserva; era sábado por la noche. y el restaurante estaba prácticamente vacío. No me sorprende que los lugareños estén eligiendo otros establecimientos ya que el nivel de bienvenida fue horrible y ¿qué restaurante puede permitirse el lujo de tener mesas vacías y rechazar la costumbre? Venga, en Cafe Rouge Greenwich ordene a su personal y a esta extraña política de "solo reservaciones". ¡Muy pobre!

It’s really saying something about Cafe Rouge to see them choosing their employees to cater to the changing environment of Greenwich. I’ve been going to the Cafe now for 2 years and as well as top of the range food, the service we always receive is better than every previous time. We met a new waiter called Abiola who told us to go for his favourite dish - Poulet Breton (10/10) and his favourite desert - Apple Tatin, both delicious. It was refreshing to be treated with such respect. As if we were the only costumers in the restaurant. Definitely would return!!

Came in solo to finish of some work, sat in a quite area and was served by a great young man called Abiobl. His service, characteristics and just all round general presence was refreshing. He was interacting will all his guests and actually had genuine conversations.Great job

Went for early evening dinner Appeared to be only one member of staff on front of house duties. He spent too much time talking.Order eventually taken (15 minute wait)Took 10 minutes then for our drinks to arrive.Starter came quickly, page, very good. Mains then took about 20 minutes to arrive. They were acceptable.Dessert then took a further 20 minutes, it was only a creme brulee!Glad to get the bill and leave to be honest.Won't visit there again

What a way to reinforce the stereotype of French people being rude. I had called up the restaurant to see if I could order a main meal and have myself collect it I was told I could do this as this is not seen as being a delivery. On arrival I had to wait 7 mins to be acknowledged and only when I went over to the bar to place an order was I acknowledged. On giving my order for the meal Poulet Breton was told that I could not use my 50% voucher for any meals for takeaway services and that I should check on the website and the voucher to see the terms of conditions where it states this. I did this and there were no terms and conditions stating a voucher could not be used for a meal and the waiters delivery was quite abrupt and nonchalant and didn't want to give an alternative. I left to return to my car and checked the site and vouchers again to see said statement of non using vouchers and sure enough there was no word of not using a voucher. The manager honoured me using the voucher and a main meal and told me I could not order the Poulet Breton because it has a sauce and it will not carry in the takeaway boxes they have which was fair enough, so I had to order the Poulet burger with fries.Now have a look at the fries that were given to me do these look like freshly cooked fries I would urge you to look at all the other fries placed on these Google reviews and you will see what type of fries you should get with your meal. I was treated dismissively by the manager and this is the third time of me going to a Cafe Rouge and I thought I would have a better experience than this as on other occasions there were no problems.Service 1/5Food 1/5Atmosphere: Pompous and unprofessional.

Visited Cafe Rouge on Friday for a light meal before going to the theatre, ordered a cup of coffee while I was trying to decide what to order - the restaurant wasn't very busy but I waited and waited and eventually started to try and attract the waiter's attention, at one stage he was playing with a baby in a pram near me, I was thinking of leaving and then eventually one of the waiting staff pointed to the counter and said they were making my coffee when it eventually arrived they told me that the staff behind the counter was new? The coffee was given to me on the house I decide not to order any food as I wasn't sure how long it would take

Just got back from Cafe Rouge Greenwich. Waited ages to be seated. Eons for a waiter to ask for our order then An HOUR for the food to arrive. When it did, my daughters chicken was undercooked. Unfortunately we couldn't find a waiter to complain to. Then it took an age to catch someone's attention because we'd gone for the two course set menu. It wasn't the fault of any one waiter - but all of them. No one seemed to want to bother to serve us. Even to pay the bill was painful. This kind of poor service across the board seemed systemic. In all a terrible experience. I considered trying to find the manager but another customer was busy with the waiter trying to complain to an absent manager too. In all - a terrible experience.

absolutely love café rouge, been to few but was at the Greenwich one sat night, absolutely terrific food and very good service by a lovely waiter by the name of Abiole

For many years a group of old school friends have met at Cafe Rouge for a Christmas lunch (we all went to The Roan School in the 50s and 60s). We always have a good time.

Not only is the food great! The service is also quite fantastic! We're always served by Vicky who is so cheery and compassionate! We walk in and she knows what we want!

Had breakfast in there on a Saturday morning. Got seated quickly but had to wait for 30minutes to even get served. 3 other tables came in before us and got served quicker than us. We had to keep asking to order drinks then they were the wrong drinks after waiting 30 minutes for them.

Set afternoon tea , tasty and delicious. Very good service and value for money . A pleasant afternoon in the heart of Greenwich

Full English Breakfast. Vile. Appalling rubber eggs, obviously microwaved to death, all of it. How can they get it so wrong. If this food was served in prison there would be a riot.

Breakfast for 6 ...Cold and basic Service...Terrible Glasses ...dirty Waiters...Clearly hate the customers There is Nothing good to say about our experience here. It was truly terrible...and clearly no one who works there cares.

Excellent service by Charlotte, good fish and chips, and I am a regular diner there. It was no fun to get food poisoning from the moules marinieres (: The people who serve are charming and efficient.

I just ate a delicious lunch here. Sam was very attentive and provided an excellent service, so I have no reservation in recommending them.

After a bad experience in another restaurant in Greenwich we chose Cafe Rouge as a saviour. Great food, great service (Marta) and lifted our spirits again. Will be back x

Like salmon returning to their natal home, Former Roan school pupils return to Greenwich each winter to catch up and chinwag,some 60 years after leaving school. For the last ten , Café Rouge has been our venue of choice so here we are again. From a wide choice of Xmas fare each of us chose from starter main and dessert washed down with red and white wine. We were provided with a genuine french waitress, Charlotte, who ministered to our every need and never served the pre-ordered selections erroneously. No, it's not gourmet food but for about £23 for three courses it was hot, ample and tasty.but an extra fiver for choosing steak seems a bit high!

At this time of year most restaurants are fully booked for Christmas celebrations, so 4 of us arranged to meet here at 4.30, when it was unlikely to be too busy. It was bitterly cold & the restaurant looked warm & welcoming on arrival. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Two of us ordered the same roast chicken dish, 1 had a burger & the other had a different chicken dish, served with leeks & mash. One of my pieces of chicken was dry, tough & tasteless & the other was a little more edible. It was awkward not being able to send it back or complain because one of my companions was paying for the meal. One guest had tarte au citron for dessert & it looked pale & uninteresting when it arrived. He said that it didn't taste much of lemon. Our host had rhubarb & ginger crumble, which he found disappointing. Service wasn't great, either. Our waiter came across as a little arrogant & he forgot the glass of water I ordered. An attractive venue, with clean, decent toilets, but I don't recommend the food.

I was served by Charlotte in Cafe Rouge in Greenwich today. She made me feel very welcome from the time I entered, when she found a table beside a socket for me so that I could charge my phone over breakfast. I had the most delicious vegetarian breakfast - eggs, wilted spinach, avocado, mushroom, beans, tomatoes and sourdough toast - perfectly cooked & presented and wonderful value at only £5.95. I’m looking forward to returning.

Dont think you can go wrong in here, eaten a few times at Cafe rouge places and always been very good. Good portions, and not over expensive, and very nice food indeed. Staff very nice and polite. Was there this evening before theater, all went well for us there, but think they were very short on chefs in kitchen, short staffed, and sat near some people who seemed to not get something they ordered, must say they were compensated by not paying for what they had had, so fair play to the management there. But 2 chefs for abt 120 is not enough, we know as my husband is a chef., BUT cant fault the food.

A friendly restaurant where you can find french meal. I used it for breakfast and french fruit crepes were delicious.

This was my third time there. Firs time I went in for breakfast. They have the best pain au raisin. I went in for lunch another time. I ordered the mussels with tomato but they served me the mussels with garlic and cream. I wasn't too happy about this. This time I went in for dinner. The food was nothing too special. I wouldn't visit again for the food but I will for the customer service. We were served by a girl named Martha. She's just so full of energy. She is excatly the type of waitress you want when you've had along day yourself.

Came here with a couple of visiting friends. The place is lovely. The staff are amazing and very helpful. Food was amazing and service is very good indeed. The place is very cosy and it can get busy during the weekends.

Came with my family for dinner. Didn’t make a reservation but we were seated very quickly. The waitress Ieva was extremely friendly and helped us choose our food. Everything came quickly and it was good value. Definitely will come back - nice dinner experience!

I always like Cafe Rouge and the one in Greenwich is no exception. Food very good and staff brilliant. We dined inside but during the daytime or in better weather there was plenty of outdoor seating. Our latte liqueurs were a joy!

We stopped here for a bite in the afternoon since we skipped lunch. Food is good value for money (we both had omelette) and the service by Marta was excellent

I came here in a party of 10 for lunch during a reunion weekend. I could understand the service being slow in a full restaurant and with a party of this size, but it wasn't busy at all. Most of the staff were nice but some unfortunately looked like they didn't want to be there. One of our servers was lovely though and actually popped some candles in a cake for our mate's birthday :).

Travelling with work so eating alone which I’m quite happy to do but the staff could have been more attentive. The restaurant didn’t seem that busy but the service was incredibly slow. Food was average. The barmaid didn’t know how to make a drink I ordered but tried her best. The highlight of my night was a waiter running past shouting ‘this is f***ing bulls**t!’ and slamming the kitchen door! Several customers had to get up to pay their bills and collect their drinks. Obviously some staffing issues here! The 2 remaining staff (after the angry waiter incident) were trying their best and remained polite throughout even though you could tell they were under pressure.

We actually ate here twice in 2 days pertly because of discount through Gourmet club but mainly because we enjoy the food offered by this chain. This branch is particularly good, excellent staff.

We’ve eaten here often (with mixed experiences) mainly for convenience as it’s next to the cinema which we often visit. On this occasion we were seated reasonably promptly and then waited 15 minutes before someone came to take our order.

Although a reasonable meal, I think some of the food here (ie their croques monsieurs) are overpriced for what they are. I was also given the wrong one (ie I just ordered a normal one) and although swapped for a fresh one straight away there was no apology. Service was slow and once given our food we didn’t really get any attention at all. I think there are probably better places for lunch in Greenwich.

Visited for a late breakfast before an event & the place was busy, but looked well staffed. Our order was taken quickly but breakfast was slow to arrive and had to be chased with our waitress. We also had to flag her down for a drinks order.

Visited cafe rouge on November 1st and what a good night I had ! Food and service were excellent, good atmosphere and a double whammy was the guitarist Steve Mac. He played solo background music for a wide variety of tastes- will definitely visit again especially when the guitarist is playing.

Nice interior, friendly staff, good choice of meals and drinks. We spent a couple of hours working on laptop. We had salad and fresh white wine. Good.

I normally visit the Blackheath Village branch which is 10 minutes away. The Greenwich branch has very slow service, they should have had more staff, I couldn't believe how slow they were. To order drinks, to recieve the drinks, I asked for ketchup with my main and had almost finished by the time they brang it over. As a bread starter I received 3 tiny pieces of bread, in the blackheath branch they give at least 6. The food was as good it was just spoiled by extremely slow service.

Booked a table and they said they had no knowledge. Waited an hour for drinks to arrive and then another hour for food which was cold! Was told 4 times the food would be 8 minutes and the next one and just a moment but waited for another 40 minutes! Had young children with us and didn’t get food until 10pm and the staff kept making excuses. Rubbish.

Had the Tian with crab and avocado and it was the best I’ve ever had. It was actually the first I’ve ever had, but it was love at first bite. Don’t let its looks deceive you with its unorthodox approach.

Went with my daughter for my 60th Birthday to London and had breakfast hear twice and it was really good I had eggs bacon etc and my daughter had eggs benedict, Really lovely would definitely go back.

My partner and I went there to get a bite to eat before a concert at the O2. Although there was a bit of a wait, we were in, served, and ate in plenty of time. The wait staff were very friendly. I will definitely go back there!

A standard offering. Not much choice and little room to manoeuvre. A buffet would be preferable. TripAdvisor wants me to write more but it doesn't warrant it.

Situated in a nice location in Greenwich. On warmer days it is nice to sit outside and watch the world go by. Staff are usually welcoming and keen to serve you well. Food tends to be very good but has been hit and miss on some occasions. Several times Ive had to send back ‘hot’ drinks due to them being cold or lukewarm at best. Some of the Tables inside are placed very close together, which can make it feel like you are sat eating with strangers. I get the impression that the restaurant is catering to the passing tourists and so arent always looking for return custom. Overall, worth a visit if you are in Greenwich as more often than not you will happy with the food and service.

Food was typical Cafe Rouge. We had a breakfast ordered and presented with very little enthusiasm so I was glad there was no service charge. Food was good all be it a little cold. In and out within 45 mins.

Cold food, no fruit juice offered, table not laid. Expensive for what you get.we didn't get juice, had to ask for sauces, sugar, napkins. Very disappointed.

Adjoined to an Ibis hotel this Cafe Rouge provides convenient eating. We had dinner and breakfast here. The service was very good food is ok and the prices are reasonable for London.

Visited on a very busy lunchtime. Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious and drinks refreshing. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

We visited this establishment about four weeks ago and the experience wasn't good. Irrespective, we decided to give it a second chance. WRONG decision. We had a booking and were seated straight away. Our order was taken and our drinks arrived relatively quickly, however it went down hill from there. We had to wait over an hour for our mussels starter. I asked for a finger bowl but one never arrived. We a ordered a second round of drinks but, after a 30/40mins wait, we cancelled the order as our drinks hasn't arrived. The real negative though was the meal. A party member ordered a medium rare 10oz rump steak. Unfortunately, it arrived well done so it was rejected. Eventually, a replacement steak arrived, minus the French fries. Irrespective, the good news was that it had been cooked as requested, I.e. Medium rare. The Bad new was that a good 30% of the steak was inedible gristle.

Typical cafe rouge establishment with good service. On this occasion several food choices not available but enough choice to select others. Service slow but staff helpful.

Sono venuto con amici per colazione, siamo rimasti delusi. Il bacon era grosso, le uova troppo cotte, le salsicce acquose, i funghi secchi, i fagioli messi direttamente dalla scatola nel piatto e il pomodoro avevo sapore di pesce. Le bevande erano calde e la spremuta di arancia in realtà era un succo pieno di ghiaccio, l’acqua era calda. Inoltre la porta del locale era sempre aperta e la temperatura non era delle migliori. Il servizio è stato inesistente e poco attento e le saliere erano vuote quindi non abbiamo potuto aggiungere sale alle pietanze insipide.

Passive aggressive staff, rude/non responsive staff, the most basic of customer care and nothing special food. I was already hesitant about going beyond just having a coffee after having been greeted as 'mate' by a passive aggressive waiter, but decided to give the benefit of the doubt. Wish I hadn't. This chain simply doesn't deserve the reputation it seems to have.

Second visit here and it was a little bit if a let down. Waited 15 minutes to even get a drink. Then another 15 mins to take our order. Food was nice however portion size leaves you wondering if you had a kids meal! When paying the waiter was ramming was my card so hard onto the machine he cracked it. I would happily offer a service to teach staff customer relations! Advice to manager.. watch how your staff work.

El local se encuentra muy buen situado en el centro de Greenwich y el local tiene unas instalaciones bien decoradas dentro del mismo edificio del Hotel Ibis.

The staff were all completely uninterested in us. The Uber eats and deliver roo devices were going off continuously (we happen to be put right next to the noise) and when I eventually asked the waiter to possibly turn them down, I got brushed off. Food was okay. I won’t be going back!

Visited last Saturday whilst in the area, as a wet day all restaurants were at bursting point, got a table quickly but initially the service was slow. However, it was saved by Nejah who was excellent, interacting with the family and very attentive. Food was delicious once it arrived and we had an overall enjoyable visit, all thanks to Nejah.

well... it was a sunny Sunday when i have decided to head to Cafe Rouge Greenwich balcony for some lunch. I had 2;30h to stay and relax but ended up eating and leaving. SERVICE WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL. Menus were dropped on the table and that's it, went to check for someone to order, after 15min waiting, but the staff was to busy chatting when they noticed me standing there. Been served by 5 different waiters and somehow the BOEUF BOURGUIGNON wasn't what usually is ...super fatty and not up to the usual standards and the toast was quite burned. its a shame because we went there for the safe choice... i guess itwon't happen again ...shame

Went with my wife one Saturday afternoon with a Groupon voucher. We handed the voucher to the waiter. I'll just check if it comes with prosseco he said and took the voucher. Prosseco arrived and the afternoon tea which was very nice indeed. Loved the veggie croque monsieur. Slight problem came when we went to leave. Waitress came over "Have you paid?" she said . Yes by voucher I replied. She then marched me over to the till and found the voucher. "This doesn't include prosseco" she triumphantly said. I didn't ask for prosseco I said and repeated myself when she gave me an old fashioned look. The waitress then let me go

My husband and I came here to eat this evening (Saturday night) and it was very busy as expected.

Im coming severale time in this cafe rouge and always enjoy my breakfast and the good atmosphere who make me feel like home . Thanks Jess and Vicky who were looking after me .

It was busy but great! Houcine the waiter was lovely, and my mushroom croquet fantastic, they must use truffle oil or something. Very tasty.

We arrived and were waiting for five minutes before the head waiter realized we were there. It was a quiet afternoon we three tables. We ordered the Crab and Avacado salad. I’ll leave you to see the pics. Hair in food. Avocado dark browny green. Hair on plate. The most boring salad I’ve seen and a potato tower of microwaved cheese. This place needs a new lease of life.

Ordered avocado on sourdough with smoked salmon, couldn’t eat any of it. The salmon was old and dry, I had a small bite and decided I didn’t want to risk being ill. Avocado was very very dark, again seemed to have been sat around for a long time and was slimy.
