It's our new go to cafe and the price is good definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a cafe in Maidstone

I'm sorry to say I did not enjoy the breakfast omelette. The portion was very generous, but it was tasteless. Music was loud, and there was no soap in the ladies. Service was good though.

A nice little cafe, with 7.00 am early opening which suited us fine. Prices 25% more than they should be. Disco type music that early is really off putting, heaven knows what it would be like later on in the day. No loo rolls.

Friendly staff. Good selection on the menu. Full English was well cooked and very tasty 😋

very nice burger only thing I say would be of been even better with some burger sauce. Very Small potion of chips tho but were hot and tasty. Yeah I would recommend 👌

All the breakfasts here come with free toast, but for some stupid reason they won’t let you swap that for fried bread despite the menu literally saying you can swap one item free. So they make you order it as extra if you really want it and you have to deal with having two lots of bread. Stupid rule. Your fryers are already on, meaning it’s costing you the same energy to fry the damn bread as it is toasting it, and you’re going to give me extra toast anyway which is wasted bread. Just let us have fried bread instead of toast - really not hard to do.

Best cafe in Maidstone. Excellent service, welcoming atmosphere, nice decor, great food, and fair prices! What more can one ask for? Edit: I’ve been for breakfast a few times and I find it is a chore to get fried bread here. You can’t swap your toast, so have to order it as extra and have double bread - but then they forget to bring it (they actually forgot twice last time I went)

Cafe was in a great location and easy to get to and find. After ordering I waited over 30 minutes when my friend got his 5 minutes after ordering. I then had to chase up my order twice as the first time I was given the excuse "sorry it's really busy today your food should be out in the next 5 minutes" by the waitress. 15 minutes later I chased up my order at the desk and was then told my order never went through even though I had already paid. I would have been more than happy with the wait if I were told about the problems and they had to take the order again but the wait staff didn't check up even though tables that had come in and ordered well after me had received their food. After my food came I had to chase up my drink as well. The food was very nice though and was well portioned for a reasonable price when it turned up.

Nice breakfast, I opted for a set breakfast of sausage, two rashers of bacon, chips, beans, toast and a fried egg along with a can of drink for £9.00. Some of the chips were a little overcooked/crunchy but the rest of the breakfast was nice. They operate a loyalty scheme of a free meal once you have collected 8 stamps from paid meals, they have the same offer regarding drinks too. Whilst the food itself was good, there were so many issues. Firstly one of our coffees was forgotten and we had to ask to get it, then it took 45 minutes to get our breakfast, and again we had to ask because it felt like we'd been forgotten about. They weren't that busy to be taking that long, and realistically if your wait time is that long you should be telling customers there are delays. I was then brought the wrong meal which was quickly rectified but still frustrating. No check in to ask if everything was okay. I wanted another drink but since we already had to catch someone's attention multiple times for things I was uncomfortable asking yet again. Just disappointing and left us with very little time to check out of our hotel.

I was disappointed there was no gluten free & vegan options so my choices were very limited

My Partner & I have trawled all over Maidstone town centre including the Mall for a decent breakfast. It's been either lukewarm or with a snotty egg or both. Yesterday (20.03.24) we tried the Cafe Riviera & was absolutely delighted with the breakfast, undoubtedly the best in town!!

Really great little cafe. Food was spot on, well cooked and plenty of it. Myself and my daughters were thoroughly stuffed and satisfied afterwards. Polite staff and attentive service. Good all round.

Great pancakes with bacon and coffee, will definitely come here again - has a nice dog-friendly covered terrace area at the rear I don’t know was there - nice place at the bottom/river end of the high street with interesting varied menu

Manager was really rude & aggressive. He told me to go bk to where I came from - London and I was with my child. Never again. If the incident was caught on camera he would be shut down!!! Soo many better cafes locally

Called in for a bacon sandwich and a coffee as I had a little time to kill. Best coffee for a long time and well cooked bacon, must admit that I would have preferred an uncut loaf over pre sliced white bread. I should have asked when I ordered.

Filthy floors, dismissive staff. Found several flies in my orange juice and was given no apology or compensation, just a replacement drink. Floor was dirty and no staff thought to clean it. Food was good but not good enough for the terrible experience

What can I say…. This cafe is amazing . Popped in while walking past and ordered 2 set breakfasts and two cans of cherry coke. Our order was taken by a attentive waitress and when the food turned up it was just what we needed , not greasy and cooked to perfection. Keep up the good work cafe Riviera . Five ⭐️

Dropped in for a quick fresh glass of delicious Orange Juice.

Popped in for a breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Seemed nice and clean, polite staff, varied menu and good value. Decided to have their S2 breakfast which was freshly cooked and plenty of it. So yes, would certainly return.

Oh dear this place used to be very nice food with reasonable prices. But are now charging £2 for a can of coke!. Big Breakfast £9.50 with Hardy anything on there no mushroom no onions. The sausages were beyond horrible have been changed since last was in there. Baked beans were cheap beans not hienz. Cheap tomato sauce in plastic bottles is not a good look for a cafe charging ridiculous prices. I genuinely left feeling still hungry after my big breakfast. Barely filled a hole! Overpriced new menu. Poor quality sausage. Will not be returning!

Very clean and the food was nice but very expensive, can get equally good food for a lot less elsewhere.

I’ve been here many times over recent years however on the last couple of occasions I’ve felt the service has dropped off quite a bit. The small things like not receiving all parts of my order at the same time & having to wait for half my meal to be given to me when the other half is already on the table. Also no mints by the till anymore??? It’s the small things that make the difference! Quite sad , but still a good place to go to, however it used to be better . .

Very disappointed with their service. Me and son went in to eat, we sat for 20 minutes and no one served us but kept walking past to serve other tables they arrived after us. In the end I left and will not go back.

I had a marvellous Green Reviver smoothie here - made to order. The BLT baguette was light on lettuce and tomato. Overall it's a clean and cheery place to get a quick bite to eat.

Very clean friendly cafe which served a very good breakfast on the day i visited. Perhaps a couple of quid more than i anticipated, but as i say you get what u pay for.

Went to Cafe Riviera with our grandchildren on the last day before November lockdown. We were all very impressed with the food we had and the grand kids were delighted with the great milkshakes. Service and staff were excellent. Our new favourite Maidstone cafe. Will definitely return after lockdown and may even use their takeaway service. Brilliant *****
