Cafe @ Number 16 in Fife

I am so happy I discovered this absolute jewel of a place to eat. My husband and I have returned many times and when friends & family visit it's our " go to " place to treat them. Situated on a side street off the main street in Aberdour, I feel sorry for the people who miss the opportunity to experience it's delights. The cafe is small and very cozy. Its also dog friendly ( maybe let them know if you're bringing a large dog( Chef and owner Xen is a really lovely guy. He chooses his staff wisely. Every team member is a credit to him. The atmosphere is relaxed. The decor is delightful ( walls adorned with works of art by local artists and crafters.) The food is all made to order and the flavours and presentation outstanding. Today I chose fillet of salmon with potatoes, asparagus and green beans, with a cheeky little side salad. Hubby chose chicken & leek pie in a creamy tarragon infused sauce. The puff pastry was so light and crispy. We were so full up we had to take some of our afternoon tea cakes home. THANK YOU Xen and team for making Mothers' Day such a memorable one. See you soon! Lovely atmosphere, greeted at front door, lovely staff and amazing food, super quickly served. Very reasonably priced too.

This is a wonderful cafe with terrific food.Xen should be very proud of his business here in Aberdour. Lovely staff, excellent staff. We also experienced the outside catering Xen provided for an 90th birthday celebrations. Beautifully prepared and cooked canapés for an evening drinks reception and a most wonderful afternoon tea selection. Well done Xen. Would recommend this cafe without hestitation.

This gem of a place, located just off the High Street in Aberdour and it is well worth seeking out. First time visit for brunch and we were bowled over with the food, service and hospitality. We would recommend popping in to have a cup of their lovely coffee and cakes. We had a couple of Mexican dishes which were truly tasty. They are able to cater for all tastes and diets. My wife is a coeliac and she was well looked after and if we were able they have an extensive yummy selection of cakes and treats which are vegan or gluten free. Well worth a visit. When we were there the place was rammed, so booking might be worth considering.

Got to say every time we come here to eat we are never disappointed food is amazing by chef zen and the service is so prompt and friendly would highly recommend. The food is honestly exceptional. Get down here and try it out you won't be disappointed.

We had the Thai chicken curry tonight for dinner from their frozen takeaway range. It was excellent and perfect portion size for both my wife and me. Can’t wait to try their Hungarian goulash that we also bought today!

Our favourite place in Aberdour, whether it's or lunch or a hot chocolate and cake. Always very friendly staff and very good food. Had the tomato soup today, and it was the best soup I've had in a very long time. Everything else was very good as well, including the gluten free sandwich option.

This is a little gem of a cafe …..wide variety of delicious food , great atmosphere , quick and efficient service and very friendly staff . A great selection of delightful cakes and lovely smooth tasting coffee for afters. Dog friendly . What more could you ask for . Will certainly visit again !! 😊

Went in for a breakfast. Had the big yin . And a pot of tea. Food was really lovely and plenty of it. Busy which is always a good thing and a nice atmosphere.staff very friendly.

The food was excellent. I have been here many times before but only had breakfast, today i was a bit later and had their lunch menu for the first time. I had the chicken quesadilla. Portion size was good (I ended up with a take away box) and tasted fantastic. Not too spicy - just very tasty. The staff here are always cheery and welcoming. This cafe is dog friendly - properly dog friendly - where your dog is welcomed and is served a bowl of fresh clean cool water BEFORE you get served!! I am now torn between their breakfast and lunch menus …… after discussions with staff it has been agreed I’ll come in for breakfast, then walk the dog and come back for lunch🤣🤣😂

Aberdour is a village well worth a visit and this cafe certainly enhances any visit. We went with friends and glad we had booked a table as it is a busy wee establishment which is not surprising considering the excellent food, friendly service and cozy interior. It might have been pouring with rain, cold and miserable but Cafe 16 offered the flip side of a miserable outing! We loved it so give it a try.

Superb food, Hearty welcome and a Great location. Zen and his team have created one of the best eateries in South Fife. The food is excellent and unlike many places nowadays the food is made in the cafe not in a microwave. The staff are welcoming and really friendly. Well worth a visit. But I would recommend booking a table before your visit

Mexican night. The place was busy, which is great. Great food, friendly service. Hopefully more weekend nights to come. A pleasure to be here.

Great friendly Service, unsure what to have so we had the tasty carrot cake and the mars bar brownie was wonderful, we arrved for breakfast so i had the eggs benedict with salmon also brilliant would fully recommend a visit

For a lighter breakfast I would personally reccomend the amazing Eggs Benedict. I have it with a pot of tea and find it perfect for a start of the day. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make everyone welcome.

A very busy and friendly cafe. We called in for lunch along with our dog. There was a good selection for everyone. The homemade soup and the duo of salmon were delicious.

My sister and I visited today. I had a bacon roll and coffee and she had scrambled egg roll and tea. Couldn’t fault anything. The girl that served us think her name was Joanna was very welcoming. Will definitely return.

We asked for cake withour coffeeand were shown the specials board, then the staff completely forgot to serve our cakes with our coffee

We stopped for on a busy Sunday. 2soups on offer, tasty wraps and sandwiches also some Mexican dishes on offer.too. Food was delicious and nice n' warm too. Coffee was lovely however we didn't sample any cake.
