After a bit of a walk for a disabled person this place is permanently closed. We ended up at the St Magnus Cafe opposite St Magnus Cathedral. This seems to be one of the few places offering breakfast in Kirkwall if your self catering.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast, was not disappointed. Enjoyed a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with Americano coffee. Beautiful garden to enjoy a quick meal, and friendly staff at the counter.

Cosy cafe selling lovely homemade soup and toasties, paninis and bagels along with coffee and cake. Good value and nice food.

Quite possibly the most expensive cafe in the UK! Lovely food but small amounts and very pricey. I had a “small” crab sandwich for £9 ! The seafood platter was a taster rather than a lunch. It would not fill you up . Left the cafe having spent £27 and still hungry.

Important to note that this is an (excellent) Social Enterprise run cafe (run by the Orkney Blide Trust that supports people with Mental Health problems- and so there is a training element). The cafe has recently been taken over as part of the Blide's Social Enterprise as a new venture but the menu is great with plenty of options and dietary choices. Simple soup and sandwich option is great value but what lovely coffee! (Orkney roasted I understand). Located at the quiet end of Victoria Street its worth a visit and a very good cause worthy of everyone's custom

Cafe At No. 65, the Orkney Blide Trust's social enterprise cafe, run and staffed by members of OBT, is a lovely little place to pop in and have some lunch. The food quality and preparation are excellent, the portions generous, and the staff very friendly. We had toasted paninis with feta cheese, sun-dried tomato, and pesto, with generous side salads and homemade coleslaw, a tea and a hot chocolate, all for around £13, and there were free mince pies too! Service is quick and always with a smile. I would highly recommend anyone make a point of popping in here if you're in Kirkwall, either for lunch or just a cuppa and some cake.

This is a nice wee cafe with a reasonable selection of light lunches, soup and sandwich deals and hot and cold drinks plus a special's board. Service was quick and friendly, prices were reasonable and I enjoyed my bere bannocks, Orkney butter and soup. It was nice to discover that the cafe is run for a charitable cause,

A family of four with a young child visited here for lunch. The service from start to finish was excellent with a very warm welcome. They kindly provided our young one with some colouring activities whilst we chose. Food was very tasty and well presented. Portion sizes were just right and they had enough choice for all. Great coffee too. One to put the on your list if you are in Kirkwall.

Visited with 2 young children. Good selection of food with smaller options available for children. They were very accommodating of my daughters allergies and able to still provide her with many choices. Food was tasty and well prepared, good portion sizes and fair pricing. Clean cafe with toys/colouring in for younger kids. Baby change & high chairs available. Defiantly will be going back. Warm and friendly staff.

Spoiled for choice, all sorts of delicatessen to pick from. Not super cheap or expensive but had a good browse and bought some relish, cheese and oatcakes.

Simon is the person who served us each day this week. Very dry sense of humour & not a man to be rushed! The coffee and teas are good. Small selection of eats - a fab coconut and chocolate cake and hot pies. Only 4-5 small tables available ( and takeaway). Only seems to be open around 9am or 9.30am, not 8am as advertised. Good old fashioned easy listening music.

Lovely tearoom with lots of options (including those for vegetarians): baked potatoes, salads, soups, sandwiches, falafel, burgers, cream teas, cakes and traybakes. The crab roll must be popular as it was sold out when we visited. On popularity - best to ring ahead and book a table if you can (no dogs allowed inside, outside there is a small uncovered seating area where they are welcome). I hope to visit again. I have eaten a lot of rocky road in my time, it is my favourite thing to get if it is on the menu so I consider myself quite the connoisseur. The rocky road at this tearoom is the best I’ve ever had. Staff also very friendly, and there is a wonderful view out to Brough of Birsay.

The website says open 10-5. This is only the gift shop not the brewery. Brewery tour times change daily. Staff said they expect tourists will phone ahead to ask about daily tour times. None of this information is on their website. Drove 40 minutes from Kirkwall for nothing

Coffee was nice but there was a member of staff who was exceptionally rude, with extremely poor customer service. She knew we were waiting, we even made eye contact twice as she proceed to then potter around doing nothing whilst we waited, and a queue of others formed behind us. Eventually the poor barista who was already rushed off of his feet took everyone’s orders whilst this member of staff chatted to people in the kitchen and drank water.
