Not called in for a while but now unlikely to ever call again. Seem to have changed the bread rolls used which used to be superb. They are now just revolting. The pie also just fell apart when trying to eat it. Very poor especially when there are so many alternatives in the area

Very disappointed, read reviews and was expecting great delights when I finally spotted the parking space outside . I had cherry and coconut flapjack which was as dry as old boots binned it then on to millionaire slice ,the base of it was about an inch thick but it wasn't short bread and overall just wasnt good . I binned both i wished i takenboth back . Also got a granary loaf ,it's a rather add shape i won't hold that against it ,but I'm not expecting much now

Came here for the famous lemon buns, as my brother brought a box full last month and couldn’t stop praising them. It was a short walk from the Victoria Rd free car park and as soon we walked in to the shop we were greeted by the polite staff members. It was after lunchtime and at first I couldn’t spot them but the lemon buns were in the back cabinet display and only three were left! One of the ladies informed us that the card machine was broken and that it was cash-only so we asked where the nearest cashpoint was. She asked us if we wanted to keep the buns to one side “as they will go”, and thank god she did! We were only gone for 10mins and the lady said she had had to turn a customer away because he had wanted a lemon bun. So very kind and we were so thankful. They were absolutely delicious and definitely lived up to the praises! Thank you for your kind service, we will definitely be back! x

Visited the bakery because I'd heard such good things particularly about the lemon buns! These were indeed awesome but in all honesty i could have bought the entire shop. The sausage rolls were the nicest in a very long time, the blackcurrant tart was voted amazing. I could go one but suffice to say don't miss the opportunity to visit this shop. I'm just glad I don't live near enough to be there every day or I'd be 90kg by Christmas!

Although the cakes are amazing and so are the pastry’s, it’s the staff I have lowered the score for. One in particular makes you feel like your intruding when you walk in. Maybe they don’t like non locals walking in? But I’ve been on around 7 occasions and each time this lady has made me feel so uncomfortable, no manners used atal not even a smile. It’s a shame really because the bakery is lovely. Maybe she’s just not a people person?

Recently my husband has been working in Colwyn Bay and was told about this wonderful bakery. Well I can assure you it’s a little gem of a find. The best selection of cakes and pastries he’s ever seen and the lemon iced buns are to die for. First visit over 40 years ago, honey buns and stuff!! Everything so tasty. Compared to other independent specialist business/brands springing up everywhere the range looks stayed and dated. 1990's? Won't matter to regulars I guess. Need to get there first part of the day, things can run out and when late, Ive been provided with bread that I found afterwards to be too dry/crusty which I don't think should be sold.My problem lies in the service, they have some self important, opinionated staff who are plain rude. Its been mentioned before and its their choice to either do something about it or prefer to keep it as it is. I don't like to feel 'grateful' to receive attention, argued with or made to wait until their conversation is concluded. I'd rather feel appreciated for providing a custom.I'm sure they have people who are lovely, I just haven't been fortunate enough on recent visits to be greeted & looked after by one of them.Easy for us to fix, we will go elsewhere.

Had my birthday cake from this bakery since I was 1, every year without fail. (I'm now 20!!) This year we got one and the cream has completely changed (used to be buttercream now more like sweet synthetic cream), the icing that used to be smooth and pastel coloured is now uneven and illuminous, and the piping work was really messy. Also the sponge was dry and didn't appear to be fresh! Tasted one on another occasion around July time and it was absolutely beautiful - exactly the same as they've always been until now! Hope this was just a blip/baker was off sick or having an bad day! After speaking to other people, they also have had disappointing purchases recently.

Delicious savouries, topping cakes, fabulous bread, and not expensive. We ordered our grand-daughters birthday cake from here, having been quoted over £60.00 to buy a decorated one from a specialist cake shop not too far away. It was a 10 inch square, with a basic pink icing, and piped edge to the top, and cost less than £15.00. We finished the decorating ourselves, (thank you Amazon), and we were later told (But can't prove) that one of the specialist shops in the area actually buys the basic cake from Cadwgan to decorate and sell on. The cake was delicious, and met with approval from little and big kids alike. There is a large German owned supermarket just a few hundred yards away, but such is the quality, service and reputation of this bakery it continues to flourish, and it deserves to.

Well known locally for it's cream lemon buns, Cadwgan Bakery have a great range of Bread, Cakes and Pastries, all of them delicious!! I've probably sampled them all over the years. Well worth a visit.Easy to find in the village just down from Aldi and our Wedding Shop, Vanilla Pod.Try them, you'll be back soon!!The poor hygiene rating mentioned?? Well I was there when the inspector arrived unannounced (as they should), as the owner was on her own in the shop as a result of staff illness, she couldn't accompany the inspector around and serve at the same time!!!! Typically, this was designated as being unwilling to permit an inspection, therefore a poor score was given. Can't these jobs-worths understand they can't just expect someone to close a business down while they are there. The place is always being cleaned!!

Cosy cafe. Not many tables and can get quite busy. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice bit of music in the background. Breakfast was nice but would have been good to have the option of a poached egg. Only option was fried. Enjoyed my milkshake and my partner enjoyed his coffee. Fair value for money given the tourist area. No parking directly outside but carparks closeby and road parking a way up the road.

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.

This is just the most wonderful place..! Afternoon tea today - their own-blend leaf tea was to die for. Best "cuppa" we've had in a long time. The fixed-price afternoon tea came with our choice of sandwich from the main menu, a choice of home-made cake, and an extremely generous portion of bara brith. scones & Welsh cakes. Do this at least once in your life. The quality is exceptional as is the customer-service - real nice people working here. Vert traditional tea-room setting - about 20 covers inside? Seating also available outside and their are quite extensive trails up & behind the property to walk off some of the carbs ;) If you're visiting the Conwy Valley this needs to be on your list.
