Found this lovely independent cafe yesterday. The coffee was really great, the staff were really friendly, comfy seats. Great place to go with a book :)

I went there so many times and i absolutely love this place. Very reasonably priced and very delicious. The staff is superb too.

By Sea is a great, quiet cafe not far from the university and Portswood high street. 100% of profits go to charity, which was really cool. They offer bottomless filter coffee for less than the price of two coffees, and will refill at table. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The place has a clean bathroom, and excellent free wifi. Tables and chairs are good for studying at. Water, with proper glasses, is available to refill yourself. Really nice and light inside.

I've popped in here a few times now, usually a quick visit with my 3 yr old daughter like today. It's always been fairly quiet which I like and the staff very nice. Today they went above and beyond. I enquired about buying a box of Clipper raspberry tea, but they didn't sell boxes so the man just gave me 5 tea bags to take home and try! Free refills on tea and got the door for me as I was pushing a push chair on the way out. Little things make a huge difference. The coffee and choc cake was great too. 👍

What a lovely find 😊. I drive past this place most days on the school/work run. I wanted to find somewhere quiet to catch up with a friend. Perfect service (the staff were so polite and extremely helpful). Very clean and simple but effectively furnished. All profits go go charity and we were given free top ups of tea beyond your initial purchase. Such a great find, I will definitely be going back.

Lovely people, always nice and warm with the radio playing and a huge range of sandwiches and cakes. Spend every tuesday here studying and have never once been disturbed. Also do student discount and loyalty card!

Love the coffee, friendly staff, free wifi - a great addition to Portswood Road. I'll be back to sample some of the great looking food.

It's a great little coffee shop designed in a fresh style. It is new so is building itself up, but you wouldn't notice.

Great place to hang out and make a difference to the people who bring us our coffee. Food is good too!
