Butts Fish Bar in Walsall

Was not very impressed, got a massive portion of "battered " chips which I did not order, the fish was better, but again far too much soggy batter. Bit disappointing for first visit.

Place does amazing battered chips and food there is generally really nice. Great all-rounder chippy, not alot of them about nowadays and not too expensive either. The guys do a great job working together and are friendly and considerate. If I could give 6 stars I would, love this shop, shame I live in brum.

Have had deliveries countless times from butts fish bar and normally I'm happy,but tonight food was cold,some green chips iny meal,mosttaw for my milkshake,and no serviettes,very disappointing 😞😞

Food was very nice. Went twice in a row in a week and I can safely say, the quality was high each time. Chips, crispy and double battered, fresh burger. Very generous with the sauces. Fresh and cheap. Would definitely recommend

Ordered chicken thigh and chips and a chicken tikka wrap absolutely delicious. Chicken was succulent but not greasy and very tender not dry and very flavourful. Battered chips absolute perfection crispy outside but soft fluffy potatoes on inside. My sisters wrap was delicious aswell perfect amount of spice and seasoning. Would 100% Reccommend

Their food just keeps getting worse, it used to be a reliable place to get a quick takeaway from for a decent price and good food but the standard has really dropped. Everything was dry, underwhelming and below mediocre. Will avoid going here now.

What on earths happened to this place, used to go here for fish and chips and now the fish has shrunk and I wouldn’t even call it cod anymore- on top of that they’ve gone more expensive ? New management ? If so you need a slap on the wrists

My uber orders seem to be better than my face to face orders. Not a great service at all. I don't like the fact they make effort on ubereats to retain their rating but then every other way its a shambles. Chips are OK everything else is mediocre. A large portion through uber is twice as big as a large portion in a face to face scenario. Despicable service. I addressed this to the server and he completely ignores me and continues to give me a small portion yet charged for a large. If you're not busy, calm down and take a breath and listen.

Edited 4.12.24 - gave them a final chance via just eat, unfortunately lost another star down to 1, won't order again. The batter on the fish tastes like something you get on frozen fish from the supermarket, the battered chips aren't as battered as they used to be, the chicken wasn't worth having. Really really dissapointed. Have upped prices and lowered standards.(the pic is of how their food used to be not how it is now). Used to be 3 stars now 2 stars, another place suffering from decline of quality. Battered chips here are nice if your in to that. Fried chicken used to be way better not all that anymore. Fish and chips are nice when done well. Had masala fish in naan from here a while ago didn't re-order as pretty sure it wasn't cod anymore. Probably wouldn't bother with them again.

Absolutely fantastic food! We ordered southern fried chicken and sheesh kebab, with were delicious and spicy.

This place used to be well good but now not so much, they have changed the southern fried chicken and the chilli sauce is nasty and as usual the donner is fake donner which just ruins everything, i dont know why they have made things go rubbish.. new owners maybe?

new customer and ill be going here from now on foods delicious! not only that along with the food i have found't a takeaway who actually reads and pays attention to the customer's notes i have allergies and nothing worse then receiving food wrong entirely but these actually read and provide the correct service for customer's it'll be my go too from now! only downside for partner is he wishes they did saveloys apart from that delicious piping hot food with a 5* service

I had the most wonderful time at Butts Fish Bar in Walsall! The customer service was top-notch, and the staff really went above and beyond. We placed a big order, £50 worth, and everything was spot on. The man serving us was friendly and even let us try the donner, which was a lovely touch for first-timers. The food was made fresh and tasted absolutely amazing. Their battered chips were a standout, perfectly crispy and delicious. And let's not forget the chicken donner, it was truly outstanding. Can't wait to go back for more of their fantastic food and great service

Best fish and chips shop my by far!!!! Food is so tasty it’s incredible, customer service is also impeccable and they have a large menu you can choose from.

Best battered chips In Walsall. Chicken and donner is very tasty. Along with great portion sizes. Also you can pay via card services so a bonus.

I ordered a large fish and chips but they send me a regular and I was charged for large one but didn’t get that all the chips were on top of the cod I didn’t think they would cheat me but after eating the chips we realise it wasn’t large

DO NOT waste your money, first time using these. I've tried to sort this with the restaurant myself but they are not answering me. The food is cold, the gravy is full of stale lumps, it had clearly been made yesterday which is is disgusting. They didn't even bring the Mushy peas or curry sauce. The chips were basically just batter. I am very mad at this order, I am refusing to eat this food. There is no excuse for the poor service, they are only 5 mins away from my house. This food is stale.

Butts fish bar never fail on quality or quality, their foods are fresh and really value for money, one to recommend when collecting is their 5 pound value box which is 2 pieces of chicken and chips with donner meat really big portion and battered chips is a must.

Food came on time but wasn't that warm. Nice orange chip's but roe was all broke up threw on top of the chip's in the box so poor presentation. Could of been nice if a bit more thought was put into the preparation.

The kebab meat could of done with some tikka sauce on it. Neededmore salad and the chips was uneatable as if they had been rercooked about 5 times.

I recently ordered a chicken burger meal from here, and it was a taste sensation! The burger was juicy and flavorful, with the perfect char on the outside and a tender inside. the chips pose to be battered chips but was but soggy sausage pose crispy but again soggy . on Good was pancake roll . most defo not go there again. aint gonna put a refund in cus don't get nowhere do yo just eat so why bother

Normal chicken meal was horrendous, extremely spicy, and the service from the chip shop was poor. Yes, they sell chicken tikka meat which should have the spice to it, but the normal chicken meat should not.

the chips where what seemed old and that chewy old taste , fish pakora naan. Well was soggy flavourless and just not palatable at all. would never go back again. nearly 17 pound later , only had fish naan chips onion rings. gravy and curry. its deffo a no from me.
