Butties in Derry

I googled ‘best chip shops in Derry’ and the first two on the list were shut so we came here. Reasonable sized car park. Entrance to shop is up a small ramp and through manual doors. As you enter you place your order at the counter just inside the door and then move to the other end to collect. Takeaway only no dine in. I ordered 2 battered sausages and chips, Cod and chips and for the dog 2 plain sausages; altogether cost £18.50 which I thought was reasonable. I asked the lady if she could cut up the sausages for the dog which she did. The batter on the sausages was crispy and not greasy and a huge bag of freshly cook chips. The lady that served us was friendly and helpful. The chips were amazing, I would even go as far as saying that they are the best chips I’ve had in a long while. Next time I’m in Derry I won’t bother with the other shops on the list; I’ll just come here.

Order always wrong never answers the phone when rang and the servers are so dull expect the odd one

Just drove here as told best fish and chips in Derry.. back to my hotel, open up the best fish and chips in town only to find they haven’t even put the fish in the bag…

chips where burned and hard sun and hot dog was cold very disappointed

Ordered a large hot dog and chips it was disgusting the chips were very undercooked, they cut the sausage for the hotdog down the middle then put it in a ciabatta, I had to throw it out

usually lovely, but really, really greasy tonight. Had to throw most of the chicken burgers away.

Unfortunately chips were not well done and burger was over cooked

I ordered salad on my burger, but it arrived without.

The food was soaking right threw the bag with grease we couldn't even eat it and the curry sauce wasn't sent either

Got fish and chips I ask for salt and vinegar but got none , the fish tasted burnt and was absolutely dripping with grease and soggy , filled with bones also. The chips where the same soggy and dripping with grease. Unhappy won’t be ordering again waste of money.

Really fast delivery, very happy, breakfast was decent but onion rings were greasy so cooked in oil where the temperature had dropped, also 5 were delivered at a cost of £2.90 seems expensive. Scotch egg , really poor too, very cheap sausage meat wrapped around a overcooked egg which was also watery

I had pre ordered for a specific time my delivery was 20 mins late but it was still very hot. I asked for all the sauces but unfortunately there was a small amount of saue so some of my chicken box was quiet dry overall I would order from here again.

My partner ordered a half pounder meal thing comes to Like £8.90 there was one burger meat in there should be two? Also I ordered a chicken curry and the curry was all over the box and bag everywhere. Not very happy from first time from there.

Chips were way over cooked and the fish had 1000 bones in it never had a worse piece of fish in my life, must be getting from back ally fish monger will never order again

My favourite chop shop in this area. Tastes really traditional and always top notch quality and service.

An update on delay or someone answering the phone would have let us know what was happening to our order. Instead we got ‘enjoy your food’ after almost an hour after order was made, but no food.

My order is 20 minutes late, I’ve been trying to ring and there phone is busy the last 10 mins they must have plugged it out

I ordered a chicken burger meal. For the price I was expecting a fillet burger not the cheap round flat ones you get in tesco. Chips were under cooked and floppy and at room temperature. Its the type of place you would only order once from.

Order took ages and it’s a stone throw away and when I did get my food it was shocking chips were soggy and cold and I wanted ages for it and it cost me near 8 pounds the can of coke was great though

Curry is kind of tasteless, chips taste more fishy than potatoy and rice is overcooked with a very plastic, funny looking colour egg, and that's not having into consideration that the price is between 2 and 3 times the price of other shops near by
