Bushel & Strike in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

We stayed in Heacham for 4 Nights and had looked at several highly rated and dig friendly pubs . After trying 3 the Bushel and Strike was the best by far ! Welcoming hosts and home cooked food with fresh ingredients. Knocked the West Norfolk out of the park !

Had Sunday roast lunch and one other evening meal last week. Both were excellent.

A very welcoming and friendly atmosphere with excellent home made meals. We were staying at Bay Tree Cottage across the road so we ate here twice and both times the meals were tasty and cooked to perfection. There's a spacious outside sitting area and a large car park. It is also dog friendly. The owners of the pub really care about their customers experience. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful time at the Bushel and Strike. The food was lovely, and the pub is very family and dog-friendly. The staff were accommodating, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for a great meal with loved ones!

Bushel & Strike is a great family restaurant, they have great food, will also do steak but u have to place order for steak a day before so they can buy fresh and you won't be disappointed. They have a great beer garden and facilities for children to play and the prices are very reasonable, would highly recommend if you are in the area

Decided not to stay and eat. Arrived with family with intention of having a meal, after seeing empty car park and menu signs by road, we thought we wouldn't need to book a table. But were then told there was only one chef so may not want to cook for us. Then told we could eat but we wouldn't get our dinners all at same time. Told to push 2 tables together ourselves and eat in main bar with the only 2 customers there trying to watch TV instead of sitting us in other room which would have been alot nicer. Kids were told the wouldn't be allowed to play Pool so started to feel it wasn't family friendly. Atmosphere was pretty dull and uninviting really so we left before ordering as the 'Always Warm Welcome' sign we noted on arrival seemed like a mistake. Not really the place for a holiday meal unfortunately :(

First time here and we all loved it, very happy, friendly pub. The Sunday dinner was lovely with BIG home made Yorkshire puds.

Walked from Hunstanton to the Bushel & Strike so worked up an appetite. Friendly staff, good range of beers and wide range of food on the menu. We had chilli con carne, burger, chicken burger, curry and paella. All was delicious especially the homemade burger. Fabulous little find.

Lively atmosphere, very popular and friendly, helpful staff. The beer was good, the food was excellent. (It was Greek night, always a favourite with me). Lucky locals.

Had two lovely meals during our stay in the area. My only criticism is the Sunday lunch was a little on the cool side. That said, it was delicious. The owners made us very welcome and the banter was good. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

Such a lovely little pub with a roaring fire in the winter and a live band on the weekend! The lovely owners let us bring our ponies there to graze when we pass so we can get a quick pint or two. The food looks amazing . Cannot fault this lovely homely little haven 👌🏽👌🏽

Made to feel very welcome by the owners, went for a meal on steak night and it was excellent. Great value for money. Also they have great beers, recommend it.

Whilst on holiday this week we called into the pub on Sunday for drinks. 2 of our party had lunch very delicious superb value for money. Booked for steak night Wednesday again superb added bonus quiz night made to feel very welcome by the regular clientele hosts and chef very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting food service and atmosphere to a high standard.

Brilliant tapas night. Pub recently taken on a new chef and doing theme nights on a Friday. Excellent value, paid under £50 for a meal for 2 and 2 drinks. Keep an eye on their social media for upcoming themes and menus. Lovely to see the place busy and always a nice crowd

Sunday roast before travelling home. Huge plate of food and perfectly cooked. We need one like this in our neck of the woods.

After moving to Heacham last year, Steve and Karen at the Bushel have made us feel incredibly welcome. We’ve enjoyed many meals here. New Years Eve was wonderful at just £10 including a high quality, varied buffet Tonight was curry night. Having moved from Birmingham, the home of the Balti, we’ve eaten some fabulous curries but this special menu was a great choice, reasonably priced at £15.25 for 2 courses and generous portions. Nice place, the owners are very friendly and can't really say much about the atmosphere as there was only the group i was with in there. Think it would be a great pub in the summer with its big outside beer garden and close to the beach

We were visiting Heacham for the night with friends and dogs, popped in the pub for a drink and ended up staying the whole evening! Great pub and lovely people, thank you for having us.

Recently moved to Heacham and always received a warm and friendly welcome from Steve and Karen. Great selection of beers - where else can you get a Guinness and Newcastle Brown under a tenner Enjoyed events such as the Jerk Chicken Man Had food for the first time today and the lasagne was delicious. Good quality home cooking at a reasonable price.

I’m on holiday with my girlfriend and 2 children 7 and 8. We came in for some food and while we were waiting to order just looking at the menu I see they had a pool table so I put a pound in and the man behind the bar shouted out sorry kids are not allowed to play on the pool table so I said oh ok no problem,then we were sitting/standing next to the pool table and the gentleman behind the bar came over and said can you move away from the pool table to my 8 year old son and did that hand gesture when you shoo something away like he was a animal or something so obviously after that we left. It was a shame that this happened because I had really good memories of this place when I was a boy back in the 90s

New to the area - popped in for a drink and stayed for a few. Quiz night was on. Great atmosphere and friendly and welcoming landlord/ bar staff.

This is my first time here, service is incredible, staff and conversation is a literal warm welcome! I ordered the Scampi and chips, food came quicker than estimated, prompt and great sized portions! Served more than hot! 5* would definitely recommend this pub for the quiet type of clients who want to live in their quiet space!

The food was absolutely top notch. We had burgers which tasted like burgers. No artificial nonsense or cereal. The most friendly, welcoming and happy staff. So attentive and showered our fur baby with so much love and affection. We're going back there for sure. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

So sad last time I went to this pub it was amazing, shame as gone so down hill, a shortened menu, not much choice and no atmosphere, really sad, as to owner’s reply we wasn’t offered anywhere near what you are stating in your reply, before Covid we always came when we were on holiday in Norfolk as last owners were fantastic. also not offered any deserts and to be honest did not see special board or advised about it, so your reply is not really honest, your online menu is not what is now being offered, and definitely wasn’t that amount of items but thanks for reply maybe look at reviews and maybe it will help this pub keep going, thank you honest customer,

Fabulous pub for holiday makers and locals in the area. The pub garden is stunning and very dog friendly. We enjoyed food and came for drinks on a couple of occasions across our weekend away. Would 100% recommend a visit.. thank you to the lovely owners who made us feel so welcome!!

Popped in for a beer while on holiday. The pub has a brilliant atmosphere and an excellent beer garden. Didn't eat here.

Friendly, good food and beer well kept

We visited for a drink earlier in the day to be welcomed warmly by everybody inside. We proceeded to sit outside and finish our drinks. We stopped by the same evening for food, which can only be described as very tasty, home cooked and very filling. We had the Bushel burger, homemade lasagne and steak ale and mushroom pie. All of which where lovely. You really could tell they were homemade, really tasty. The staff were very helpful, chatty and welcoming. We will definitely will be visiting again. Thank you for the perfect service.

A lovely little pub with a big beer garden, just a few minutes from the beach. They're dog friendly and people friendly, too. Very happy, chatty and helpful staff - the landlord even gave me a hand to take my drinks out since I couldn't carry all of them with my broken arm. And the food was very good, too. Will definitely be visiting again.

Had a lovely meal at this lovely pub in Heacham. Lovely atmosphere landlord and landlady were very attentive. Food was great. Had the home-made fish pie and apple crumble with ice cream portions were great. Will definitely be coming back here garden was beautiful.

Came across this pub by accident and what a great find .

Stopped in here after the other local pub didn’t allow kids in. Called in advance and was greeted with a friendly voice who welcomed us in coming in. When we arrived, we were greeted the same, the owners are very friendly and we’re great with our boys. We ate from the Specials menu and enjoyed everything. We were stuffed after the mains, but could not resist the home made apple crumble and was not disappointed. Stopped by the following day for a drink and were met with the same great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing service, the owners came and served us themselves and were a blast to talk to. We were here for Christmas Eve and they were the stars. My Grandad was ill and they helped by making him a hot lemon drink from their own kindness. Will definitely come back. 5/5!

What a lovely pub and the licensee and staff are so nice and friendly They went out of their way to give my sick husband who had a very bad cold a lemsip hot toddy to take across the road for him. If you are in the area please take time to come and see and have a pint or two They will make you and everyone who enters this pub a kind friendly atmosphere and it's also DOG friendly. What a bonus. If you're in the area, drop in you will not be disappointed.👍👍❤️.

Very Friendly Pub. Sadly the existing Landlord is leaving shortly and a new couple will be taking over in October. We wish them the very best of luck in their new venture and will definitely be visiting the pub again.

Walked in only to be told no food available as had a couple of diners in the restaurant side. Even pub regulars said there is only 3 of us but bar lady point blank refused and was quite rude about it. I tried phoning earlier however they never pick up the phone. Shocking as we travelled 5 miles to get to somewhere to be turned away. Stay away from this place

disappointed. we went here hoping to have a nice dinner out on our holidays, we tried to call them to see if they were serving, they didn’t answer just like some other reviews said, they never answer the phone. we went there in person and they told us that they weren’t serving, the woman telling us wasn’t even kind about it! maybe if they’d answered the phone we would’ve know. would not recommend nor would come back, EVER!

Usually pop in on the way back home during the daytime. Have never eaten there. Great place to sit in the garden and have a couple.

Trif bar kitchen staff very nice welcoming and very friendly. Food very plentiful(proper plate full). Only down side was the decor tatty drab need a good paint job. But will call again good atmosphere.

Very nice and quiet location, the beer garden is very calm. The pub is dog friendly and they treat your pouch like a king :) Totally recommend and will visit again when I'll be in the area. Prices are ok and the beer is good

Basic local pub needs improvement

Had a few games at pool, nice atmosphere and staff.

I had too give this place one star just to rate it if it was up to me it would be a zero star Didn't answer their phones so thought we would turn up and see and well tables outside absolutely filthy empty cigarette packets everywhere. Inside was no better dark and dingy. The gentleman at the bar informed me rather rudely they are not doing food. Wouldn't of wanted to eat their anyway. Basically don't waste your time.

Horrible place and there was obvious drug use every where

We were looking for somewhere to eat for lunch. But not serving food on a Sunday seems a bit odd. Very friendly though as they directed us to another place serving food.
