Now part of Punch Taverns, run by a nice friendly team of locals. Beers good quality and price.

I did not rank the food as they not have a kitchen, but overall a great atmosphere, great service and the locals make me feel like at home.

Clean pub fast service may soon do food. Reasnable drink prices lower than most. GREAT LANDLORDS.

Pros: A nice pint and sports on the TV. Cons: New decor has stripped the life out the place. Walls are bear and new seating is very gastro. This is a Ye olde boozer not a hip and trendy wine bar. Kitchen is closed. Food is no longer served so ignore all the food reviews from here on.

Visited the pub for the first time Sunday afternoon with my brother as haven't been able to get out due to poor health & was impressed with Sarah & her husband, I have run several pub's in the local area in the past & it was a joy to see a proper pub busy full of locals, unfortunately the kitchen was closed but I would recommend them & would return, good luck to them 👍

went to The Bull for darts match last night even so we lost. bar staff was good and same to the snacks.

Busy pub with sport on big screens, had chicken strips, cheesy chips and garlic bread, everything was lovely but the garlic bread was a bit strong for our liking, will be going back soon

Local pub for the locals. Everyone seems to know everyone like the American show Cheers and like that show, when you walk in you can sence a uncomfortable air as the locals meerkat heads up you for acceptance see who your meeting there by sussing what you're about. Once you're in you're in and can feel at home, by the time you leave you're practically family. Also like Cheers it's 80's, it's tired, the car park is huge but also very tired looking. They do put on bands and DJ's there. There's a pool table for the teenagers. Food is very good as is the friendly service.

Lots of lagers, just the one ale. Greene King IPA. Apparently the locals don't drink proper beer so no call for more variety. But that one proper beer is served with due diligence, love and professionalism by the landlords. A good GK IPA. At a good price. Unfortunately the lager swilling locals drop the atmosphere level and the decor doesn't help make for a cosy pub. But if that's not what you need, don't be put off.

Went there to night no social distancing. Make u pay for food they never serve.cant buy more than one drink as they dont care about any one apart from. Locals. People sat sholder to sholder . Staff rude dont even make eye contact so they can pretend it's to late to order.do not vist .unless ur the covid police.manager even lied to my face about he was going to serve me.

Got their social distancing measures spot on, Dean the landlord and his team go the extra mile to make your visit as comfortable as possible, Vernon the chef serves up some absolutely outstanding food from his kitchen, well worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

In like it but sometimes it's noisy and the language is a bit off putting.

Pub looks good after the referb but the mac n cheese had no sauce and was very flavourless

Was made to feel very welcome on a difficult day as it was my mum's funeral , put on a really great buffet well worth the price .

Popped in here after work 1730 on a Friday afternoon. The pub was quite full and very noisy. Noise of course is subjective but I found the conversation I wanted / needed with some colleagues quite hard. I only stayed approximately 1.75 hours.

Excellent place to choose better beer

Pleasant, friendly staff. They also do food. Plenty of space to sit down. Bit worrying that they have CCTV in the toilets, ostensibly to reduce crime! They do say that the cameras only view less 'private ' areas in the toilets, but it's anybody's guess what that means! The locals seem to accept the presence of these cameras unquestioningly!

It's ok, you can go in and get a drink. It doesn't look that great being honest but it's still a local pub. I didn't have any food so can't really say.

The food is typical pub food and is a reasonable price. If you want fine dining then it's not the place but if you want some half decent grub but not too expensive then this is the place for you.

A cheap and cheerful pub, with a modern decor and televisions showing sport everywhere. Food cheap and substantial but not a place to take "she who must be obeyed" for anything resembling an occasion. Staff friendly and clientele mainly local.

I am disappointed to find that the 'free burger' I was awarded by the green king season ticket collector card was 'deleted' over the new year period. This may be due to computer error during the change between 2018 and 2019 but, having collected 12 'points' and not having the opportunity to redeem my award is hugely frustrating and disappointing especially as I consider myself as a regular customer.
