Bukharaa - Street Zaika in Stockport

We came for our christmas work party. Service was fantastic, and food was delivered to our table efficently and no one was left waiting for food. Only very small issue was that the korma and butter chicken were not mild they were quite spicy. So it was a shame for the people who wanted a very mild curry. They dealt very well with food intolerances. A great addition to New Mills

Very disappointed with my takeaway the chips were terrible like they had been cooked a couple of times and arrived stone cold and hard , popadoms were just broken pieces in a paper bag the two curries we ordered were nothing like we was expecting only thing we enjoyed were the chops and chilli chicken starter the rest went in the bin. Will not be ordering from here again £40 down the drain UPDATE Just had a call from the restaurant which was very refreshing asking why I didn’t enjoy my food and could they send me some more food from there popular dishes if not today when I next call in as I said in my review the lamb chops were very nice also the chilli chicken starters and realy appreciate them taking time to call me. Really good food, good atmosphere and the staff is really nice.

Ordered a takeaway off Stockport eats and was very impressed. Ordered 3 starters to share - vegetable samosas, gobi 65 and the spiced potatoes. Really liked the cauliflower and the samosas had a good filling. I had the paneer butter masala and it was so good - lovely creamy sauce and lots of paneer! My partner enjoyed his butter chicken. Garlic naan was perfect - massive and lots of garlic. Definitely want to visit the restaurant now!

So took a look at the website and was drawn in by claims that this place gives a different spin on formulaic Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine. On arrival was greeted by a menu with only a few speciality dishes - heading for disappointment right? No not at all not only were the recommended dishes delicious the old stalwarts somehow had extra flavour and new approaches too. Awesome from start to finish. Even got to have left over biryiani for breakfast the next day 🚀🚀🚀

If you want to experience true home cooked Indian food in a warm and welcoming setting Bukharaa has you covered. From the moment we booked the table to saying goodbye after our meal, the entire staff were incredibly hospitable and made you feel truly at home. The food is delicious and was served promptly, with care, and hot. As someone with food intolerances having the allergy information readily presented on the main menu is an extremely considerate touch and made our dining experience stress free. We will 100% be back and we will be telling everyone we know they must try Bukharaa. We could see during our meal that word is getting out around romiley and Stockport how great this place is and it truly deserves all its success.

Second time going and still absolutely fantastic. Food excellent, atmosphere great. Can’t wait to go again.

The staff were excellent and willing to accommodate my allergies, I tried samples of curries and chose the one I preferred. The food was delicious, I will definitely be going again, my company also enjoyed their meals. The lunchtime menu was great but I chose from the main menu. It was quiet but they have only just opened in the lunchtime, I recommend and you will not be disappointed

We ordered chicken thali and chicken kathi roll from the new lunch menu today. All the food was spot on.... Tasty authentic flavours and cooked perfectly. The service was fantastic too 👏 such a lovely place to eat and we will deffinetly be back!!!

Food was lovely. Friendly and excellent service by all. Chef came out to ask how our evening and food was. There was no rush and we were allowed to enjoy the atmosphere of the restraunt. Amazing food and evening would highly recommend and can’t wait to return.

We have had both takeaways and eaten in at Bukharaa and both experiences have been excellent. We went on Friday evening and the food was delicious. The starters are amazing, so much flavour. We had two curries from the house specialities and they were really enjoyable. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere.

Excellent food and very friendly and attentive service. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. Currently running a meal deal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which makes it very affordable. Been a couple of times now and it's been great both times. Would highly recommend.

A hidden gem. Love the food here its so tasty and everyone in our party agreed it was one of the best meals they have ever tasted. My favourite was the railway lamb and chicken saag. Also the starters are amazing, I love them all.

We booked for 6pm Sunday evening. The restaurant is welcoming and vibrant. The staff are very polite and attentive when needed. We were a small group of 5. There was a large birthday party group of about 16-20 people. The atmosphere was great. Restaurant was full. The food was delicious. We are not regular attendees to Indian Restaurants but the staff were helpful describing the dishes abd meticulously accounting for food allergies. We had fish starter and the railway curry, and onion bargee starter with chicken roganjoshe. All food was well spiced but not over (spicey) hot. The meats were tender and juicy. Food was well presented and was not oily or gloopy. Perfect.

This little gem in Romiley was found by googling top Indian restaurants, Let me tell you this is by far the best Indian curry house around please don’t scroll on try it every dish was banging but I must say though everything had a hint of chilli in them so be prepared to feel it slowly kicking in very well decorated plates with the starters abit like Gordon Ramseys see you next time

I was lucky enough to win one of the Mother’s Day meals for two and has the most incredible meal, also brought my step son and baby and everyone absolutely loved it 😍 brilliant service, really nice atmosphere with live music and will definitely be back! Every dish was delicious with food I've not previously tried. The portions were spot on and came beautifully presented. The service was exceptional and the recommendations were explained wonderfully. They mentioned another restaurant opening in New Mills very soon which, I am certain will do very well with the 'word of mouth' spreading to further reaches. I will be returning many times more with family and friends. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Eaten there tonight (27th march) we had a table for 5 and the service was 5* couldn't fault anything, the food was delicious very tasteful would highly reccomend. We will eat there again

Update..... Following my last review, I was directly contacted by text message and a phone call from the owner. This is excellent customer service, and a lot of restaurants should learn from this. We went on Friday evening, the place was very busy. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. The menu has something for everyone. We had Chat Samosa, very well presented and taste amazing. Lamb Chops, you get 3 on the plate. The meat was very tender and accompanied by an authentic, slightly spicy sauce. Chicken Madras, full and flavoursome, nice and spicy but not too hot, so was enjoyable. Chicken Karahi as above but less spicy. Chicken really big chunks and juicy. Mushroom Rice, chips and naan. All washed down with a pint of Kingfisher. Service was very good, not in your face, ensured everything was alright. You could see that they were short staffed, and the staff that were there were very busy. I would definitely recommend a visit. the lamb Karahi was not fresh they said it was but when it arrived it was actually cold from inside. The meat was cold from inside like as if someone had half cooked it and then warmed it up. Not acceptable. Don’t advertise something as being fresh if it was half cooked a few days ago and you reheated it. When I told the waiter he said I’ll get you a fresh one they then reheated it again and brought it back out 5 min later. Very disappointing

Visited the restaurant before which was sensational- and I’ve tried a LOT of Indian restaurants. We’ve also ordered takeaways and it is the exact same quality- piping hot, super speedy delivery and completely delicious. No layers of oil in the dishes and all super fresh. Have recommended Bukharaa to all my family and friends. Thank you so much. We can’t wait to return!

This is a lovely resturant the food is fab.. I have too say Indian is my favourite food tbh and this is by far one of the best places I have eaten. Really enjoyed the food and the staff are very friendly nothing is too much trouble. I went with my sister and her partner who have been many times before with living in romiley. Would highly recommend if you live in Stockport or nearby, it's worth the visit . Fab place ....

The food was divine! It had depths of flavour but tasted and felt really healthy. Like home cooking. There was none of that oil layer over the curries, the quality of the lamb and chicken was really good - it was just absolutely delicious. I’ve been having curry since I was a child and first time had restaurant curry that tastes so home made and healthy. The service was also absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is only a 3, because it was a little noisy with a few loud guests, and the set up is like a nice cafe not full blown restaurant vibe. But it was clean, warm, nicely decorated, with ambient music and comfy chairs. Amazing food delivered with brilliant service. We cannot wait to come back and I’m bringing my family next time!

The best Indian in stockport hands down. Each dish is a symphony of flavours, service is always ten ten, from the starters to the mains every single dish has its own unique taste, this is exactly how Indian food should be. Highly recommend Bukharaa, They even had a live artist on Wednesday night which really added to the already great atmosphere.

Good food served on hot plates which is a must for us and other restaurants don't seem to think it's important. Food was amazing staff were so attentive (maybe a little bit to much @ times) we sat @ the front ov the restaurant & it could have been slightly dimmed on the lights you want to see what your eating but also have ambiance. The price was amazing for what we had I actually gasped!!! Tonight I tried Bukharaa for the first time not going to lie I’m a bit of a curry snob having travelled the world. I was shocked to find authentic curry in Romiley. It was 10/10 bussin.

Can I just say that this is the best curry I have had in a very long time, the lamb chops were to die for, very tender,will definitely be having them again next time, I had the sheekh kebab starter & the railway lamb curry which both was really good, coupled with the peshwari naan, I polished the bowl and left nothing..... superb! this was on the special menu offer which is on Tuesday & Wednesday nights, and really good value. Lovely helpful staff, huge 10/10. Had a lovely night Can't wait to try a takeout from there next or go for breakfast.

Went tonight for the midweek special menu. All of the food was superbly cooked and tasted fresh. Clean flavours, it was really really tasty. Super friendly staff this is our new go to place now for real authentic Indian food. * note the midweek savings were substantial £20+

Good curry house, good service and allowed us to swap tables (which we did because ours was a little small for five people). The staff are very nice. The food was pretty good though sauce to substance ratio in the curries a little low. Would recommend as a good local option

Payed Bukharaa Street Zaika a visit last night after seeing so many great reviews online. we were not disappointed and the food and service surpassed our expectations! We were two vegetarians and two meat eaters and the menu was inclusive of everyone. Plenty of vegan options too. The Gobi 65 was everyone’s favourite, perfectly crispy and light in a really tasty sticky, sweet, smoky indo-Chinese sauce. The chilli paneer/chilli chicken was really tasty also. I’m a big paneer fan usually but sometimes it can be a little bland, the paneer here however is really flavourful and has a great texture. I would never usually order saag as I like a lot of spice, however this dish was so rich and full of flavour. Also, not sure if this is just when they are quieter, but we were offered tasters of the main dishes before they arrived to check the heat/spice level and ask for hotter if preferred. All the main meals (a chicken dish, lamb, and two paneer) were faultless and even the naan was perfection! The service was unbeatable too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, professional and clearly had a lot of pride in what they do. Really enjoyed this visit and can’t wait to return to try more dishes. The desi breakfast on weekends is going to be my next stop!

We had the fantastic full breakfast thali at Bukharaa Street Zaika on Saturday and cannot recommend it enough! Delicious, authentic and unique street food breakfast menu served until 12:30 on Sat/Sun… we also have a portion of railway lamb and chicken Karahi for tea!! it’s definitely our new ‘go to’ Indian Thank you Bukharaa and special thanks to the owner, Vijay, for his kindness and hospitality 😊

Our group had 5 meals, all very different and all tasted superb. Samples from all of the main meals were brought to the table for us to check they were to our taste before they left the kitchen, great attention to detail. Extensive vegetarian dishes on offer. Good value meals. Will remain a regular customer from now on.

The staff were young and friendly. They not only talked about the dishes but gave us tasters: good for diners and a wise move for them. Servings were generous. I have been eating curry since the 1970s and I reckon it (chicken chettinad) was the best I have ever had. I will definitely be dining there again.
