Bugbrooke Community Cafe in South Northamptonshire

I've seen this cafe many times but have never been in. What a revelation. The grounds at the rear are beautiful. There's plenty of seating indoors and out. It's busy too. The café is located in the village hall, complete with a serving hatch and a number of tables. We ordered in a rather chaotic serving area but got our orders delivered to our tables outside very quickly. Staff are friendly too. Prices are below what you'd expect to pay in many other cafés. The rear garden is picturesque and perfect for a mid ride cafe stop. A real gem .

Slow service, server didn't handle cutlery by the handle when passing it to customers, therefore she touched where it would be used for eating. The same with cups and glasses. All were handled by the rim. No hand sanitising after clearing dirty plates, straight to serving customers.Not just ours . everyone's. A big no no . Need some staff hygiene training.

I ordered a big breakfast and got a regular breakfast. I can't see how you can get these mixed up.

Lovely little village cafe which kicks out a decent breakfast. If your expecting a Michelin starred dining experience, turn around. The outdoor chairs are more suitable to those with inbuilt padding

Popped in for breakfast with friends and it was great. Such a warm, welcoming place. Every village needs one of these places.

This is a great little cafe. The volunteers are very nice and the food is really well cooked.

Popped into this place on Tuesday for a Coffee ☕️. The food smelt lovely and the cakes looked very good, just did have time to stop properly. The atmosphere was just like a community should be, peaceful etc

Hidden gem, forget the super sausage! Forget the giggling sausage. This is the place to have a full English and a mug of tea. You won’t get better. Excellent value. Staff all very friendly and volunteers.

26 Oct a group of 8 cyclist arrived wet, cold and bedraggled we were served quickly and efficiently, and sent refreshed on our way. If you are in the area give it a try, it is run entirely by volunteers, and a small breakfast and tea cost a whole £3.50 let me know where you can get better! Cyclist get in there and use it!

Lovely community cafe, home cooked food very good value for money

I've been using the cafe every so often since soon after it opened. The food is generally quite simple, but definitely extremely good value. The cafe is staffed by volunteers and children from the local senior school who are earning a bit of money and gaining work experience. Taking this into account the service is excellent, I've generally found the staff to be responsive and polite. Even when the service hasn't been up to the usually good standard, I'm pretty sure I've had worse experiences from places with professional staff and when paying considerably more. Proud to have this in our village.

This is one of our regular places for our family to pop in to eat. Always receive a friendly welcome. The food is cooked to order we usually go for breakfast. Breakfast Menu includes Full English/Toast/Muesli fruit and Yogurt/Scrambled egg with Smoked salmon and lots more items to choose from. Also available Jacket Potatoes/Sandwiches and on a certain day a hot meal choice and dessert. Extremely reasonable prices. Homemade cakes to eat in or takeaway. A great example of how Community Cafes should be run.

I just thought that I would share this little gem with you. The Wharf at Bugbrooke is ideal location for a sunny evening next to the canal. The menu isn’t large but the selection in good, I can recommend the homemade burger and chips! The portions are quite big but I managed to eat everything! The waitress staff are also very attentive, a special thank you goes to Shannon who made are evening complete (we had a large group booking and the food didn’t disappoint). Thank you and I will call again in the not so distant future.

Stopped for brunch, good choice, good service and friendly staff. Ideal place for groups such as cyclists and ramblers to refuel at excellent prices.

Fabulous people, place and food!!!! Veggie breakfast is a must as are the cakes!!!! Lovely outside garden to sit when the sun shines. Even has a resident nightingale later in the year.

I arranged a get-together with old school friends at the cafe, tables reserved, the food was excellent, service excellent, this is a lovely example of community involvement, will book another event here

Good food good value friendly staff

I visit regularly with grandchildren, children and friends. BCC offers a great selection of freshly made food and cakes. The volunteers who work there are friendly and the food is reasonably priced. Check opening hours, as it is not open every day. BCC is an asset to Bugbrooke and the local community.

We love to support this community cafe in the village, we have only ever been on a Saturday and it's always busy. The breakfast is great for the price and we usually end up taking a bit of cake away with us for later! It's great it's all volunteer led and such an asset to the community in the village

A busy, friendly, family atmosphere, child friendly, inexpensive community cafe in my local village.

The cafe is run by volunteers. All the cakes are made on site and fresh. You can get all sorts of food there and all reasonable prices. There is a nice garden to sit in on sunny days.

Great cafe especially sat morning

This is a great little cafe what runs mainly with volunteers as staff and they are all local people. That makes the place a really welcoming cafe everything is made fresh and it's really cheap as well so you can easily treat the whole family for breakfast or lunch . It has got a play corner for the little ones, some books you can take home for a small donation. In the summer you got the nice garden so you can stop off after you have taken you dog or family after a nice walk on the canal .

We ate a very tasty breakfast, the staff were friendly giving excellent service. The hall was very clean with lots of interesting pictures.

Have to say that every time I go to the cafe in welcomed, seated, and the service is unexpected, the young staff are a pleasure and make you feel so very welcome. And you leave happy and very satisfied

Since opening I have been a regular customer. The food is excellent and the price is wonderful. I usually go for full breakfast which at £3 is excellent value for money. Apart from the manager the staff are all volunteers and it is lovely to go there and have a chat with other regulars. It is a great meeting place for clubs like the book club and the knit and natterers. In the summer the garden is also open to customers.

food excellent. Staff friendly. i occasionally go with my dog and sit outside and they cannot be more helpful.
