Had dinner & a few drinks here and it was fantastic. Pepper dipper burger in particular was awesome. Highly recommend!

The idea of the small plates is a very interesting one I decided to get a few smalls as a main as our group was only having mains and deserts. When I got the small plates the prawn tacos consist of one prawn 2 strips of red onion and a tiny amount of lettuce at £9 for these I was absolutely appalled even as a starter at that price it would be way too little to serve. The other smalls were similarly size and price 2 smalls £18.5 had to order chips separate and not remotely filling. Large plates looked the size of a small main. Very expensive for what you get, taste wise not bad but nothing out of the ordinary. Small potions and expensive £30 for mains and drinks only starters and deserts £8ish each so easily £40pp for 3 course

We had a lovely meal while catching up with college friends. The staff were very friendly and attentive.We didn't feel rushed at all. Looking forward to going back.

Absolutely incredible, we came here for a night out with friends. To start we shared a few of their small plates, we had the Cauliflower Tacos, the Spiced Pork Nachos, Prawn Tacos and a cocktail for us. For mains i has a double deluxe burger with a side of fries. Everything was to die for, greatly presented and made. Service was great as well, kind and friendly staff who are more than happy to answer your questions. My only complaint would be the lighting, it can be a bit too strong!

Nice little place but the food wasn't all that. My burger was fine, nothing to write home about but the kids meals were TERRIBLE. The chicken was 3 small squares of something that looked like a beige Jobie 🤣. Whoever made the batter or whatever it was dipped in obviously needs to learn a new trade, I tasted it and I could taste the flour in them. Girls ended up eating just chips and needed to eat again an hour later as did my wife. Her meal was the chicken kebab on a skewer and was £17.50 it had only a small portion of chips and one small skewer of chicken. No bread or rice or anything. Very plain and bland. That's it. If it was extremely tasty we would of been ok with it but it wasn't. Very average, not enough for the price and the kids meals were embarrassing to be honest. The place is probably ok for cocktails and small bites for couple or to he like from what I seen.

Food was disappointing . Small portions and over priced. Had to eat again a little later. Children’s food was absolutely terrible so If you are going here as a family for food I wouldn’t recommend but service was Good. I can see this place being good for cocktails and nibbles for couples maybe.

Came here for an early lunch - the menu is very extensive with something for everyone and the small plates were perfect for what we were looking for. The prawn taco from the specials menu was delicious 😋 It is expensive but expected for Cathedral Quarter, and it’s worth paying for the nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Thanks Buba!

The food was ok, not bad but not good as well. Service was very poor.

I went together with 3 friends, and the experience wasn't good. The restaurant wasn't packed, but sikl the food order and waiting time was far longer then expected. Our table was just under the ventiliation, so we were all freezing cold. The cauliflower bbq taco was decent, but the chicken burger was tasteless. It didn't seem like the waitress wanted us there at all.

I've tried Buba a couple of times since their re-formats, and I'm left disappointed. It used to be one of the most unique offerings in Belfast, but now it's a confused mix of cuisines- none of which are executed particularly well. We had the chicken tacos for starter which were luke warm but tasty, the king prawns were quite nice too. My margarita cocktail tasted very watered down and tasted vaguely of lime. The mains were where it went massively downhill. The chicken burger would have been fine from a food truck at a gig, but was bland and far from restaurant quality. I ordered the flat iron steak, which I was told would be served medium rare. A thick, raw slab of meat (below luke warm in temp) arrived on my plate- it must have barely kissed the pan. I sent it back and the staff were very accomodating, though the reason I was given was that "it's a thicker cut so it should have been cooked longer"... I'd like to think that's common sense? The replacement I got was cooked properly and the chimichurri was good, though the meat was pretty chewy. Buba used to do the most fantastic Middle-Eastern/ North-African inspired dishes, their topped flatbreads were to die for, and the halloumi with chilli jam was one of my favourite dishes. Sadly, we won't be back unless they do a total re-shift back to what they used to be.

The food was tasteless but presented in a good way. The waiter seemed angry and tired of his job. Nice room but there was a lot of drafts in the building which made it cold.

Went for our anniversary dinner, food was amazing as always, so tasty and such great value for money. Love the two plates and cocktail offer. The service was exceptional, attentive, caring staff who couldn’t do enjoy ugh for us and in no hurry to push us out the door.. thanks for making it a special evening x

I'll be honest I miss the old menu with the superb burgers ...

Not a bad restaurant in itself, which also serves good vegetarian and vegan dishes (that's why we found it), but the portion of our dish was just a bit too small in relation to the price. The ambience and service were all great and it's also cool that you can look into the open kitchen. If the portions were larger and you left the restaurant full, everything would be perfect. :)

Cracking place where you can gorge on small plates of different creative food and not have to pay the earth! The menu is always changing with the popular dishes staying on. So you won't be disappointed coming back to find your favourite gone, but will find new plates to sate your interest.

Very accommodating as we had a dog so were able to sit outside. Reasonably priced, very tasty food.

We went in for dinner Saturday night. The menu lacked a little more of Mediterranean dishes, and the serving size is very small for the price . It was £20 for 2 kebab skewers and a side! You really need to order a couple of the small dishes to feel full. The teste is nice. The place had Mediterranean vibes but the music wasn't going along the same vibe. Overall would honestly give it 3.5 stars.

Called in for a quick bite. They recommend small plates as a defacto starter followed by a Big as a main. Had the Buba Chick Burger which was tasty enough and accompanied by fries. Shared the flatbread and hummus with a friend. Hummus was pretty tasteless for me. Its ok for what it does without being outstanding.

Went in on a Monday night wasn't overly busy but had really delicious food. Staff was lovely and attentive. Kinda has the vibe of a quick burger joint but the food was absolutly delicious we had a mix of tapas and burgers. Would definlty recommend the cookie chaos as dessert.

I went there for a vegan and gluten free burger and that was a good choice they have vegan mayo and really mustard and the cauliflower wings , was great

Such nice starters. mozzarella sticks and the wee brisket balls yumm. Burgers were really good and pepper sauce was amazing. People were so helpful, great service.

Seriously?? Nearly £20 for a burger and fries with a patty that's smaller than the bun, the cheese not melted and fries that are frozen. You're more expensive than 5 Guys... what's the catch?? Sorry Coppi but maybe move your burger bar location if you have to charge that much for a burger meal of this standard.

Edit: updated score as I recently went back and found they had re-worked the place from a lovely restaurant into a burger bar. I gave it a chance and I won't be back. Belfast already has a surplus of burger bars and this burger is nothing special. What Belfast didn't have was another restaurant like Buba. I was in Buba last Thursday evening for the first time and had the best meal I have eaten in Belfast to date. Every starter dish was outstanding and the lamb Koftas for the main were cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and loved seeing the bustle of an open kitchen. I will be telling my friends and will be back soon!

This was always a firm favourite for their amazing tapas style menu. Sadly they had to change to a more straightforward offering that now has a burger led menu. BUT those burgers are still something else and a exciting taste experience.

Everything about this restaurant was perfect. We booked a table and were seated at the time we asked for. The service and food were excellent. We ordered the New Yorker burgers and they were better than anticipated. Would recommend to anyone.

An up market twist on the classic humble burger with premium toppings! Relaxed and friendly efficient service too, worth the 10% service charge. I can personally recommend the chicken fillet burgers and the Bubalicious (beef patty with spiced lamb). Enjoyable experience 👌👋👋👋👋

I went there because of Belfast restaurant week! Very good value lunch set for just £10. We had a nutty chick and pull pork beef burger. I just love the fried chick! The coating is just perfect! The staff are very friendly as well!

I Didn't enjoy the experience!! It all Felt so rushed. Portions were tiny and everything was warm not hot!! 1 star for the pepper sauce which was nice but Definitely won't be returning. Also should state there's a service charge as our waitress was sour and recommended the halloumi burger as the choice for someone looking spice!! 🤦

We went in yesterday and it was surprisingly busy. The floor staff were really kind and professional, although we did have to flag them down the entire time rather than be approached due to the sheer volume of customers. Our bill came up to £31.90 for the brisket balls, a "buba-licious" and "hot stuff", but my gosh was it worth it. The lamb was perfectly spiced and cooked which gave the burger an extra sense of depth to it and the chicken was flame grilled perfectly. We didn't try any of the cocktails etc as we were only out for a quick bite, but the menu sounded really good with a decent cost attached.

Really helpful on a busy Tuesday in Belfast. Put a table for five together for our party. Food was good, well cooked and tasty. They stock a very nice Shiraz.

Didn't think I could love Buba more but the amazing new menu offering delicious burgers with tasty generous dipping sauces exceeded expectations. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Sadly this nice little restaurant has gone downhill from the last time I visited. Poorly trained staff and the over use of a bland satay sauce - several dishes served in cheap plastic dishes.

Works Xmas do night in Dec 22, food(tapas) was amongst the best I’ve ever had, choice, taste, quality and quantity. There again in Jan and the menu change (burger and bits) was completely underwhelming and had better food for a 1/3 of price. Only found out of menu change hours beforehand but felt it would still be an enjoyable evening. Buba, there’s enough burger bars in Belfast, I had great expectations going back again but felt it didn’t work.

Very disappointed. This was one of our favourite restaurants. Lebanese cuisine really unique. Burger bar not for us. Two sweets disastrous what about the Turkish delight pannacotta...dates with bacon all the lovely breads what a shame!!

amazing food with great service, we arrived early for our reservation to the restaurant and even though the restaurant was full at the time, a staff member offered us a table outside beside the heaters while we waited and we were given blankets to keep us warm, we were then offered a seat at the bar while we waited, we ordered a cocktail which was delicious followed by us being seated and having plenty of the delicious food on offer, we received great service throughout the night and the food was amazing and also reasonably priced, the meal came to £47 for a meal for 2 and we left full, we will most definitely return.

We went there last weekend for the first time. Food is delicious. Mediterranean Tapas kind of thing. Staff very nice and friendly. The whole place has a cosy atmosphere. We loved it!

The restaurant itself was a nice setting, the live music was really good too. However, our drinks orders always took a long time to arrive and the food was average and I was expecting more.

We really fancied some small plate style dining for lunch and had been wanting to visit Buba for a while so thought it was a great choice. The menu is great, lots of choices, especially great range of choice for vegans too. Everything we had tasted great; especially loved the spiced lamb and the padron peppers. The cocktails were delicious also.

Very friendly staff, good cocktails, food was prompt and the place was busy. Very noisy though. The food was OK. It's a sister restaurant to Copi, which is a lot better. But there wasn't anything wrong with this place. The Turkish Delight panna cotta was really good. Overall didn't impress.

Fantastic food! Got to speak with the chefs in the kitchen and they were so kind and informative about the food & different places for us to visit on our vacation in Ireland. We'd love to go back some day!

Okay food, pretty poor service. The fish and the giant cous cous were very good. They were busy, as it was Thursday, but they were not very attentive. Some staff were quite rude.

Was really excited to try this place based on recommendations and reviews but to us the food was just okay nothing mind blowing if I’m honest. Pricey for what you’re getting. The service was a little impersonal, felt routine and indifferent even though we were only the third table in the restaurant. There wasn’t much atmosphere as there were only 3 tables when we were there. Reservation was nice and friendly via phone and email.

Currently on board the Stena from Belfast and just looked at some poor desperate eating a burger. That could have been me! Luckily my sister in law who lives in Belfast had a mouse in her house and desperate to get out of said house offered to drop me off at the ferry Availing of the extra time this afforded me and the opportunity for her to stay away from said mouse we also went into Belfast for food. Was expecting a lot more after good reviews... Got vegan tapas and salad and must say I was very disappointed. Absolutely nothing special taste wise, presentation was very good though... won't come back...

Really loved the look of the place. Welcome from the staff was great and the service throughout was really good. I liked the ambiance and the nice jazz music really made us feel comfortable. The food though, wasn't very impressive. We had a few things: kofta was ok, pork was dry and seriously overcooked. Cod was on the edge of undercooked; a bit slimy (althought this may just be an indication that it was not fresh) and the accompaniments on the plate didn't taste of anything. Salsa Verde with no flavour, a big pile of what looked like pickled onions which didn't even taste of onion let alone anything pickled. Would have loved some salt on the table as most of the dishes could have done with some. Brownie for dessert was really dry too. Sticky toffee pudding was good though as were the patatas bravas.

Food here is so fresh and tasty lots to choose from and loads of veg and vegan options, the coctails were pretty good too and our meal was reasonably priced

Extremely poor service, the manager was very rude. I Sat outside for a coffee and I was not attended to, had to go inside the restaurant to pay my bill. I Asked for a VAT receipt and was told from the manager it was something they did not do! After explaining all businesses need a VAT number, the VAT receipt was eventually shoved my way with attitude. The manager didn’t say a word, no thank you or goodbye was given by her. Very poor customer service was made to feel so unwelcome- I Won’t ever be going back.

I can barely move, I am so stuffed! Had hummus, babaganoush, pita, and fried aubergine as a starter. Probably could / should have stopped there, but I am a glutton! My wife had the bbq chicken (which I may or may not have finished 👀👀👀) and I had the steak. Both were delicious! We also had the pickled veg on the side. Ended with the vegan cheesecake, despite not being vegan. WOW! So good! Come here for dinner and you will not be disappointed!

Class little spot, went here with friends visiting and was the perfect vibe ,very cosmopolitan for Belfast . Food cocktails and service were awesome and the buba island ice tea was top highly recommended

My fiancé and I we love miditerranean food and Middle East food , I grew up with Mediterranean food ...we were very disappointed about buba ! Portions very small and very expensive, We didn’t really enjoy the food was just ok , chilli hummus was very tasty but it come with very small pitas bread not enough to finish the hummus , the fried aubergines was a very small portion and 8 pounds! While we were waiting dinner We had a cocktail the apperol spritz 10 pounds and they didnt even give us some sort of apéritif with it ... we spent 100 pounds and didn’t even have dessert. I wouldn’t go back.

I wish I'd had a great experience here as the menu looked promising, especially for the veg options! I ordered baba ganoush, pitas, corn dish, and tabbouleh. The server didn't tell me that the baba ganoush already came with pita bread, which sadly did seem shop bought. So I had a surplus of bread. The corn was literally half a grilled corn cob, not worth the money even if it tasted good. The ingredients must have cost pennies. The tabbouleh was mostly giant couscous!! Which I don't like. I was expecting a lovely fresh, zingy herbaceous salad with cucumber perhaps. It was lukewarm couscous with 2 pieces of parsely, which was gummy and so bland! It wasn't the greatest, the only saving grace was the flavour of the baba ganoush and the cocktails. Otherwise, I'd be hard pressed to come back here for small portions, bland ish food, and high cost. Left a bit disappointed and full of pita bread I only ate so it felt like I got something for my money.

Great food, good drinks, service could be a bit better

The food quality and menu variation was very good. However, the restaurant was very busy with a large party in the middle of the room who were very noisy and this reflected on the atmosphere of the restaurant. The waiting staff were rushed and made errors on our order and forgot to bring a requested drink. Also, when we made the reservation we were alloted a 1 hour 30mins time slot to eat and enjoy our time in Buba. After finishing our main meal we still had 25mins left on the clock, we asked for a desert menu and we were informed that due to the time, we would have to "eat desert and consume any other drinks outside". We decided to pay the bill and left. Good overall but we wont be rushing back.

Great meal in Buba last week. Food was very tasty and atmosphere was good.

Third time at Buba and unfortunately it was a mixture of highs and lows. I’ll start with the lows, we had a 5 pm seating for 2 and arrived just before 5. After being shown to our table at 5, we didn’t see anyone again until 15 minutes later despite there being the same number of staff visible as there was customers. There was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. After taking our order, the starters took an age to come despite there only being two tables being served (booked online and only had a 90 minute slot for the table. This was another gripe as 5pm was the only time available via the online booking system but during our sitting we saw 4 tables occupied until we left). The restaurant was also freezing cold, I had to wear my coat the entire time despite asking for the heat to be turned up when our waitress did eventually come. Wait and coldness aside, the starters were absolutely superb. We had the hummus, halloumi fries, padron peppers and stuffed mushrooms which were all delicious. Our mains however were a bit of a disappointment in comparison. The sticky beef kebab wasn’t really that appealing as two slices of beef on a flat bread with a not too sticky sauce and a few sliced chillis is something you’d expect at home and with the sides. The lamb tagine was equally as uninspiring and something you’d expect from a home cook. That being said both were tasty and suffering in comparison to the high quality of the starters. I really have enjoyed my trips to Buba in the past but it will be a while before we go back.

The Spiced Lamb platter, inspired by Moroccan cuisine, was absurdly delicious. The condiments and spices were rich and flavorful. The portion was very decent and the service was quick as well. I would love to visit again!

Finished our Christmas shopping & my wife and myself enjoying our first time experience in Buba such a treat the food was delicious and, I'd recommend the mixed grill I'd beer and my wife enjoying the Christmas cocktails, along with her meal the service was excellent & very friendly atmosphere we'll definitely be back 👌

Vegetarians - Very few and not great options. It comes up in vegetarian restaurants but doesn't live up to it. Also, it's not much Mediterranean as they mention in the branding

I loved the atmosphere and the cocktail I had (mochito) and the location is perfect and the food was very delicious, but the portion of food is definitely not worth it for what you are paying for.. so stingy.. I ordered the large plate chicken £14 and a side £4 and their home made pickles £3.. all together £21 for something that didn’t even fill me up. I was very disappointed about it cause I was hungry and I expected a proper portion at least, not 2 bits of chicken..

Hard to get nice vegan food locally, other than a bean burger. We had one of each vegan option and shared it with kids (8 and 10). Clean plates all round. Unreal. We'll be back!

First time eating here. Lovely menu with lots of options for vegan and vegetarian. Recommend the picked salad veggies and the lemony potatoes. All delicious. Very reasonably priced too.
