The food was very disappointing/average at best sadly - it was my birthday treat and the bill for two was around £125 with only one dessert. I wouldn't return.

We booked a large group over 30 for an afternoon tea at browns. We received excellent service given what a large group size we were and they went to every effort to make it special as we were celebrating our friends who are soon to be married. The food was delicious, all came out together and we wouldn't hesitate recommending and returning in the very near future.

Fabulous night at Browns Birmingham . Food and service were both exceptional. Served by Elise who went over and beyond to make sure we had a great meal. Smashing experience.

Fabulous atmosphere. We had a great welcome, waitress knew my name and escorted us to our table. The food choice was fabulous and all 5 of us enjoyed every dish ordered. We left the restaurant to go to the theatre and we received a call from Brown's to tell us one of party had left their phone on the chair. Outstanding service and can't thank them enough.

We had a lovely birthday dinner here, the Fish and Chips and the Shepherd Pie were excellent and so were the desserts. Our waiter Robson was helpful and nice, we'd definitely go back any day for a special occasion. (only minor caveat, place was a bit too dark)

This our chosen venue for a special reunion lunch, exceeded expectation. From the outset our host/server Alex made the whole experience perfect. The complementary glasses of Moet was a great opener. The quality and selections of our food and drinks during our 3 course Lunch simply amazing. The service throughout was almost off the scale too. Thank You so much. Will definitely return on our next annual reunion next summer.

Nothing to complain. Was my first time and I’ve rated 5 stars. So I think that it says much. The food was good. The dessert was a blast!!! You have to try the poached pineapple.

Have had excellent meals here in the past but yesterday's was very poor..Food served very quick and suspect not properly cooked. Butter chicken burger was hardly warm and fries were hard and not patch on previous visits. My wife had seafood salad and was just a modge.Very watery and no sign of any prawns and tasteless.Never like to complain but advised waitress about temperature issue and we both left a lot. Was told chef would. If we had not been asked to pay in advance we would have objected to pay the optional service charge. We were not informed this had been taken and understand was optional Will return for drink only as beer is great and fantastic location.

Went here for my boyfriends birthday. The cocktail was so acidic it wasn't pleasant to drink at all so stuck to water. Ordered the sharing surf and turf. The lobster was so small i only got a mouthful of it. The fries were cheap and soggy. My steak was overcooked but they wouldnt take it back or take it off the bill. It was so full of pepper i had to keep stopping to drink more water. The green beans were limp and full of water. Left still hungry and disappointed. Wouldn't come here again. Why would a place where you are spending £100+ on a meal dismiss that your steak was too overdone and not bother pleasing a new customer? Avoid!!

Went for lunch on my birthday as I had eaten there before. Staff were friendly, but the service was slow. Lobster was not available, and that was what I had really wanted. Food did taste delicious 😋 and the restaurant was very clean. Prices were pretty good,and portion sizes were fantastic 👌🏾

Pretentious overpriced and badly lit. The servers hostile and only interested in serving customers who they feel they can get tips from. I came on a night when it wasn't particularly busy and waiting ages. Then they add 20 per cent VAT of your total meal onto your bill. Avoid!

Table was ready for us even though we were early. The service was quick. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, presented well and hot. Facilities were clean and tidy. Good atmosphere.

I’ve came to this restaurant many times now, every time is the same with great customer service and great food. This evening I had a great interaction with a waitress called Elise and it made me and my fiancés night. On top of this we received a complementary treat due to our recent engagement. Nothing but good words for here.

Thank you @Jake the waiter who saved the day from the god-awful passive aggressive maitre d/ manager who initially greeted us and whose attention we were unable to grab after waiting 9 minutes without being noticed once we were sat down ( hence the 4 stars…) Great service (from Jake) for our large party of 7. Great celebration for my sons graduation thank you so much Jake for being attentive and for showing us Londoners that Brummys can provide good service. Amazing food, all three courses were incredible. The Steak is a must. Amazing cocktails too of all the ones I tried. So thank you to the chefs and bar staff. Loved the table we were allocated. Absolutely nothing to fault. Just pure praise. Especially to our server Jake he was fantastic and very attentive despite how busy it was. I will most certainly be returning again and feel this is now one of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham. So thank you Gareth and all of the team at Browns Birmingham.

Went for a graduation meal on Thursday 18th July. The food was great but what made our visit so memorable were the outstanding staff that were ALL lovely (especially Elise, who was such a delight to have as our server as she was so helpful and witty).

Well done Kasia service was impeccable really lovely welcome us to Browns and looked after us through out our stay thank you ❤️

The place was fully booked, but Alex managed to find me a table. I had the cod with Anna potatoes. The fish was perfect. Lovely crispy skin but nice and flaky still. My server Kasia was very attentive even though her section was busy with a big table. I had a great meal upstairs with great views and a lovely atmosphere. Worth a visit

Busy Friday night in Birmingham, theater seats booked do needed quick and efficient service. Arrived to a packed restaurant with a buzzing atmosphere. We were seated and attended to very quickly, Chloe, our waitress, was very attentive throughout, looking after us with a pleasant attitude, a lovely smile and perfect service levels, although she was very busy. The kitchen provided a very good meal very tasty and with good presentation. The menu gave us a good range of choice of options, and order to service was very quick. Overall the experience was very good and met our expectations.

The service was excellent the food was good.

Took my dad out for a belated father's day and the service from our waiter Elise was so lovely and accommodating - was such a lovely space and will coming back!

We were a very big group of people and they accommodated all our requests and needs. Rob helped a lot and everyone was really happy with their choices

Booked a table for Sunday evening when we arrived we were told the sole was not available when we came to order I ordered the belly pork and was told it wasn't available I was very disappointed because that was one of the reasons we booked Browns,for dessert ordered poached pineapple for the price it was poor a sliced pineapple ring cut up which didn't even look poached.I am glad I had my 20% shareholders voucher has it was not worth full price.

We had three fabulous meals at Brown's Fish was superb and Steak cooked to perfection. Special thanks to Jake who made us feel so welcome. Will definitely come back on our next trip to Birmingham

I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was nice, however the chips were soft and watery inside. There was not enough tartar sauce for the whole meal, as the piece of fish served is quite big. What was dissappointing, is that we got charged £5 for water, but the waiter told the table next to us that the water was complimentary.

Visited Brown's recently on a trip to Birmingham. Waiter made a slight mistake with our order and couldn't have been more apologetic. He even removed the service charge because of it. We had to insist on giving a tip. The food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere.

Hubby and I were over visiting, it was the first time we have been to Brown's. Food was delicious, great portions. Mocktail was lovely Atmosphere just got a little loud towards the end of our meal as there was a biggish group of girls had came in who were all very excited to see each other lol. But service was excellent and food was really tasty!

Great Sunday afternoon experience .. Food , ambiance , background music selection .. toilets clean … Food served hot … Staff pleasant and obliging .. We came here before my daughter's pre-wedding dress viewing for brunch. After checking the booking we were seated quickly. The food was lovely and the customer service was great. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. My younger daughter and I had the Eggs Royale - divine!

What a great venue, myself and my wife had vegetarian breakfasts which were wonderful a shout out to the chef and the superb beetroot hash also had a mouth watering smoothie, the service was excellent especially Chloe who was so welcoming and super friendly. Highly recommend to all.

Came for bottomless brunch for my birthday. Our server Elise was wonderful, friendly, attentive and made the experience wonderful. Can't wait to come back.

Quite pricey and food nothing exceptional - we all had burgers & fries. Staff were friendly, but the really noisy piano playing & singing was far too loud for lunchtimes, we were sat 2or3 tables away and had to practically shout to hear one other!

Disappointing experience at Brown's couple of weeks ago. Ordered banana daiquiri which was tiny for £12 also tasted awful. We were sat by the large window and needed to keep our coats on as was so cold, we did ask to move tables once a table became free. I had lamb which was nice, my husband had pulled lamb shepherd's pie....it was a very small portion with not much meat or veg. The toilets were very dirty, loo paper all over floor, filthy floor, tap hanging off. Not impressed at all!

Oh wow! Browns never fails to impress! Excellent food, great atmosphere and no hurry lunch. Our waiter Ash was fabulous.

Our first visit to Browns which we can recommend most highly. Especially for GF sufferers. The choices on all menus looked very extensive with care taken to cover most options for GF. We were greeted by Elise and given a choice of tables by the window. We had booked for Afternoon Tea and again the menu for GF was a joy. She explained the care taken in the kitchen to ensure the GF food was prepared separately. We selected Decaff coffee with our food which was provided at no extra charge. We will certainly revisit and try the other GF items on the main menu.

Ash was so accommodating. The food was great too but we'll be back for Ash!!!!

A hidden gem! Faultless food, service and atmosphere received. Thank you to all who had been working at or around 14:15 at the time of my visit in March, especially for the birthday plate 😊

Fantastic dining experience. Booked in advance, shared a starter which was delicious then had Sunday lunch. So tasty, would highly recommend. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food hot and fresh and didn't have to wait long between courses. Live singer and pianist made it a lovely experience with a difference. Too full for dessert unfortunately but will be back soon.

Saturday evening 6pm booking. THE WORST food ever had. Pea puree and courgettes were cold, potatoes were cold the chicken skewers were VILE/raw and the crumble tasted like it had been sat in a freezer for months. Waitress was on another planet asked for more bread with starter waited 15 minutes had to ask again. Manager pretty reluctant to take any accountability for serving what looked like raw chicken packed onto a skewer. I would not and I mean NOT recommend this place to anybody. Disgusting service and food. Best thing was the mocktails!!! Oh and the chairs are all unsturdy and uncomfortable. Terrible experience £400 bill for reheated food!

What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday we were celebrating our friends 50th birthday there was a group of ten having afternoon tea the service food and atmosphere was brilliant a special birthday enjoyed in a special place highly recommended.

Attended for a wedding shower in the above function space within the restaurant. Pre ordered meal, main and dessert. Great food and even greater service. Good value and a great selection. Good portions, freshly cooked. Nearly 20+ quick service received. Highly recommended

Firstly, the food was delicious! I have visited many of your restaurants around the UK and have never had a bad meal. Sadly, on this occasion, your waitress let you down as she was inattentive. We were seated at our time of 5:15 but wasn’t asked our drinks order for about 15/20 minutes. As it was near my birthday, I had a voucher from your app which I showed the waitress and after a big debate, was told that I couldn’t use it as it was a bank holiday. I appreciate that is written in your terms however is that not discriminating the fact of my birthday being near Easter? Very disappointing. After finishing our food, the waitress left us for quite some time and in fact, I went up to ask for the pudding menu - we still had dirty dishes in front of us. As it was now past 7pm and we had a concert to go to, we didn’t have time for the pudding. Again, we were left and not offered the bill. We proceeded to get up to go to the till and the manager actually called to us and said “bye thank you for coming!” We then told her we had not yet paid and wanted to pay. She took our payment and we left. Our initial waitress was too busy chatting on another table. Now I appreciate at a busy time you might get left for a time but your restaurant was far from full. To arrive at 5:15, have one course and not leave until after 7pm, gives you an idea of the length of service! As I say, beautiful food but your waiting staff let you down on this occasion. My partner and myself had a fantastic breakfast this morning, served by the lovely Amy who was fabulous!! It was my partners birthday and they treated us to a lovely little surprise dessert after the breakfast. We would both thoroughly recommend Browns 👍🏻👍🏻

Visited Brown's for dinner and we had a really lovely time. The food was delicious everyone really enjoyed the dishes, I have to say I had the broccoli side and it was really good so would highly recommended that. The service was friendly and attentive, and our server Elise made sure we had a great experience 👍

The afternoon tea was very salty. The lemon cheesecake had a hair in it. The tea selection was pitiful. The toilets were disgusting for an upmarket place felt very down market.

Typical Browns good food horrible service took more than 1 hr to get food delivered. Very noisy not good. Food is amazing though

I have been there last year and now I had opportunity for a nice lunch. The new menu is excellent! I had order miso salmon, garnish and black rice were perfect! Waiters are friendly, calm environment! My waitress was Elise, she was all the time smiling and she could gave me answers for my questions! I love this place!

Had a lovely mother's day dinner here, warm greeting and service, beautiful roast dinners and a lovely atmosphere while we ate. Food was so served in good time, and the cinnamon bun and banana pudding was lush! Even given a small box of chocolates as a gift for the occasion. Very pleased with our visit.

I joined the VIP club before dep for UK (live in Norway) I was promised a glass of champagne on this offer. We combined it with a mothersday brunch (offer on SOME) with another glass of bubbly. There was no mention of this upon arrival..Staff did not know about this - had to go into ny mailbox and show the mail (s) and then the e-mails asked me to log in to see my surprise (?) . I had to do this over and over again - also with the waiter present - to no avail. What a terrible system - and lousy customer journey!!!!!!! I certainly NOT feel like a VIP. Working with UX and customer journeys myself - Browns has a loong way to go. I was charged for a glass of cheap rose in the end. Up until yesterday I liked Browns - and always used to book there at least once or twice during our quarter visits.
