Brown eagle has lost there touch food is horrible chicken taste cheap and chewy the flavour ain’t there does not taste like Jamaican authentic food the oxtail is full of bones with little to none meat again only taste salt no seasoning or yard taste chicken always burnt for the price you charge good food should be coming out the kitchen not dog food will not be going back to BROWN EAGLE DEFINITELY AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TASTELESS CHICKEN THATS TUFFER THEN A WELL DONE STEAK MIGHT ASWELL PUT RUBBER IN GRAVY. Ordered soup on UberEats which was water down with hardly any flavour obviously the soup was running out in the pot so they threw water on top to stretch it also tasted stale and have the cheek to charge £6.99. Very disappointed with Brown Eagle the food has gone downhill I must say.

I ordered via Uber eats, and my order is incorrect yet again. I have tried to call the store more than 10 times since receiving the order, and there is no answer. I could not be more disappointed that I have to order from another restaurant as I don't eat what they did send me. This is definitely one customer who will not be ordering from there again.

Curry or stew chicken with rice n beans is life

Me and my friends have collected food from here many times when we go to wood green...But I did order from uber a previous time and disappointingly the staff got my order completely wrong - (Stew chicken instead of Jerk pork)!…So when ordering from uber again today, I rang up the shop and politely informed the other lady on the phone of my order to help them get it right this time as I live far and cannot take the food back to the shop.. but she was VERY rude and dismissive…then abruptly hung up the phone mid conversation!....It's a shame because the food is good and the usual lady that works there is always nice and professional. Customer service is most definitely not their strong point!

Have been eating from them for over 21 years I know this asbi discovered them when I was pregnant and my son is now 21, food back them was excellent like you cooked it yourself if your west indian fast forward 15 years standards start to drop rude staff, that weird lady in woodgreen with the funny eye, serving women small meals in large boxes , you get home and your partners like Where's the rest of the meal... got to th3 point if you wanted what you paid for you'd have to send in a man, anyway ordered a few times after that had paper in my roti where its been shop bought and the paper that seeperates them is not removed property , noticed time after time the meat isn't even prepared properly not being trimmed to remove fat or blood vessels ordered today and was disgusted, the foodnis clearly being cooked in large industrial pots as seasoning is not matching up at all curry goat just now tates like curry meat no essence of traditional curry goat came across these blood vessels and that was it for me I'm done never ordering again sad

The curry was burnt as soon as I opened it I could smell it... Absolutely disgusting and disappointed... get better service at the tottenham branch.... never again!!!!!!!!! If I could smell it then the person dishing out must of smelt it and you think it was ok to serve it even though I was paying for it it was not FREE.. would never order from here again..

On arrival today 2 ignorant sour face women had me waiting for 15 minutes without any acknowledgement and then it was who's next? The staff should be ashamed of themselves, rude, no manners and definitely no customer service. I asked the rudest one how long do I have to wait after my order was taking too long, she said for what? So daft! They need training! Management obviously don't care as there are too many bad reviews on service. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Fried Chicken rice and peas good portion at a great price service was also very good.

Went today with the family after a VERY LONG time. I used to visit regularly when living in Wood Green years ago to have their lovely food and Guinness Punch! 💚 Today we tried curry goat and oxtail with rice&peas and coleslaw. We also had some plantain, salt fish fritters and apple crumble. Mains were delicious, the meat was extremely soft and tasty! I enjoyed my Guinness Punch after a long time. We had a nice chat with the people working there and they were very nice and helpful, especially one the gentleman. I am glad we ignored some of the negative reviews and went, because it was well worth it! Thank you and God bless! 🇯🇲

This is by far one of the best #Jamaican food I have had in London. Quite near to Alexander Palace (Ally Pally). Parking is a bit tricky and extortionate, but the food lifted the spirits as the curry goat was cooked to perfection 👏 I do not know why there are so many low reviews, they are nice folks serving good food.

Food is always great here, never disappoints! Portion sizes are good (I always have a large dinner and I'm full for the rest of the day!) The only issue is of you are driving here parking is a nightmare. But cannot fault the restaurant itself or the tasty food!

I had, a launch meal of jerk and rice and peas included mac &cheese. Actually the food tastes horrible like it has been cooked few days ago. No texture or flavours.

My wife works across the road to this Browneagle, and as we did not feel like cooking I suggested try dem. Well we had , oxtail rice and peas, the rice was like rice pudding, and oxtail full of the fat that should have been cut off. “Listen people “ Don’t waste your time and money going to this place. It’s very low quality cooking and low quality preparation of ingredients and no FLAVA. STEER CLEAR YOU HEAR !!! OR YOU’LL HAVE TO DASH IT WEY.

Cash machine never working wood green. They want you to get cash from next door shop, cash machine @ £0.99. Why not fix the machine 5th time it's not working. Why do we need to pay next door to buy food . Get with the times. And this is common problem with their machine. Put a sign on shop window cash only at the least. So we can order at own risk, or tell us before ordering 🤔.

The server that served me at 14:00 was the most miserable person I’ve ever encountered. Firstly, the lady doesn’t greet customers, she seems angered at the sight of customers and generally miserable. This is off putting and unwelcoming. I shall take my custom elsewhere.

More fool me but definitely the last time. Ordered curried vegetables with hard food. They put the dumpling in and then put some of the curried vegetables on top. So hardly any curried vegetables and I ordered a large portion. So I paid £11:50 for I kid you not, one and a half spoonfuls of curried vegetables. This place is just a rip off, no wonder the rating is so low. Never again!!!

Waited almost 2 hours for my meal on UberEats…..The lack of service and the long wait times just make the whole experience not worth it which is a shame because the food is nice. There are lots of other local Jamaican places that nail the basics far better than Brown Eagle.

I was not allowed to sit and eat my food at the restaurant because I ordered small size. The lady was not rude but she told me it’s their policy that only large size orders are allowed to eat there , mind you it was empty when I was there ; just me, my 2 toddlers and the two ladies that work there.

The shape of the eating place is appropriate

We attended Brown Eagle on Saturday 22nd July 2023 whilst attending Courage Women's conference. The restaurant was clean and inviting and fortunately for us only drivers were waiting for orders. We were warmly greeted and asked what we would like. Unfortunately, no hot drinks were available but they have a good variety of cold beverages - some homemade. I ordered curry goat, rice and peas that came with salad. Coleslaw is extra. My food was well presented on a large plate, a good value for money portion. It tasted like my mum's curry and that takes some beating. A definite 5 star eating experience I would recommend. Thank you- it made our after conference session a little uncomfortable as I wanted to sleep it off.

Horrible experience at Brown Eagle Restaurant! They got my takeaway order completely wrong and served me two tiny, bony pieces of chicken that tasted like it was a week old and reheated. Disgusting! Will never go back! Avoid this place!

I always order from Brown Eagles,i Use to order from Chingford branch when i lived There as They do the best salt fish fritters (really miss that)Today i decided i dont want my usual oxtail dish so chose escovitch fish with rice and peas,plantains and Guinness punch,oh my lord everything was on point,100% tasty,beautifull Fresh vegetables,absoloutely loved my gorgeous meal,beautifully cooked 💪🎉🎊🙏🙏🙏,thanks beautifull people🇬🇧🇯🇲

Been eating here for a long time. Price rises I can take, but when ordering a large portion and its the same size as a small is just a joke. Won't be ordering again. I'm still hungry 😕

Basic food, poor customer service and small portions - what a let down 😩

Delicious food, clean (restaurants bathroom), nice atmosphere, good seating, almost empty (when I visited) and very friendly staff. No complaints at all.

Have had food from here in the past & it was good only just recently had the curry goat & it didn't even taste like it! Very disappointed.

Went there last friday to eat in as a friends dad was in town.... zero atmosphere for a friday evening, hardly anything on the menu, just rice & chicken, when my food arrived i was surpried there was not much gravy, no salad or coleslaw, I went up to ask if i could order an extra poetion of plantain...none...at 7pm..really?....zero customer service, and a long line of people waiting.... hardly a word spoken as they were serving people...not impressed, we wont be going back.

This place massively gone down hill. Staff have never been the friendliest but tonight was a joke. Took ages to even place an order the woman that served me made me feel like I was inconveniencing her and the prices have gone up ridiculously. The rice and peas were mushy and the jerk chicken was dry and tough also payed £2.50 for a Bigga when they £1.50 in the shop next door. Used to be a regular customer but I will not be coming here again!

Foods ok. Can't say much about the service though. But what do you expect from carribean food shops. Not known for there customer service skills.

More like Brown Pigeon. Just witnessed terrible customer service being given, again. Customer being shouted at and embarrassed publicly for having an issue with the food. Terrible Curry Goat again. That being said the Oxtail and Stewed Chicken are delicious. Quality of some items isnt what it was. Prices are silly. £2 extra if i just want breast in my food. This is terrible top down leadership and policies. Staff aren't allowed to give a refund. I hear them say things like if they do it will come out of their wages. I don't think the owners understand basic hospitality practices like comping so don't pass it on to the staff. It sad because I would like them to suceed but its becoming silly.

The food is good but the attitude of the staff is nasty and they have this rules you cannot eat in the shop unless you’re ordering a large never heard of that yet And every time you walk into the shop you could see people leave their plates on the table and no one picks it up right away

If i can’t be bothered to cook then i will order red peas soup my favourite Jamaican dish. Today i ordered the soup and was surprise to see bones and no meat. It is slowly letting me down.

The food quality/taste/portion size was absolutely awesome. Will certainly go there again and enjoy some of their other dishes. The chef in that kitchen puts a lot of line in making the food taste incredible!

Called up to order quite a bit of food from the Chingford branch. Cancelled order because the gentleman's telephone manners are appalling. He needs training on his attitude because that is how you lose customers. God knows how many people probably cancel order due to the staff and their telephone manners

The food is wonderful however not much choice for vegetarians as the Ackee always has saltfish in it. I'm not a vegetarian but some my people are. And even there Callaloo has saltfish in it

Very disappointed I ordered 2 jerk chicken meals one with rice and peas and one with plain. They gave us rice and peas for both meals. I also ordered 4 coslaws and was given 2. I also ordered 2 portions of fried chicken and was given a very little amount. That was a waste of £50 and I will not order here again.

Best Caribbean Cuisine in North London!!

Ordered jerk chicken and specifically asked for white rice, went home and they gave me rice and peas, went back and they refused to refund me even though I ate none of the food or refused to give me what I ordered.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE unless you want food poisoning ! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I ordered oxtail, rice and peas, fish, plantain and coleslaw. Firstly I ordered 2 coleslaws and they only packed 1. I initially thought the food was ok, but later than evening, when I went for a second helping I realised there was so much oil in the oxtail, it wasn’t even normal. Hours later, I started experiencing stomach cramps then the vomiting and diarrhoea started. I’ve had food poisoning before, once about 10 years ago, but never experienced anything as bad as that.

Ordered a small brown stew chicken with rice and peas take away, portion sizes are large and I couldn't finish it all. It was delicious, I can't say which item is my favourite, I've tried fried fish, special chicken, jerk chicken, curry goat. All delicious and full if flavour, have not had anything bad from there

Only tried the jerk pork here so cant speak for the rest of the menu. Its not often you see pork on the menu of a Caribbean restaurant so was delighted to see jerk pork here. Couldn’t fault it - was really delicious. Pork falls apart and the sauce was so good with the rice & peas and creamy coleslaw. Would visit wood green just for this!

Brown Eagle, is a great west Indian restaurant, that will serve up the great taste of west Indian food, just like mama, made her food. The Jerk chicken and curry goat is second to none. Fantastic service, lovely food.

Brown eagles used to be nice but they've gone downhills big time it's not authentic I think even an English person can cook better than them there is not one ounce of flavour in nor the meat or gravy.. Afew things are very questionable to me like 1 do they wash their meats as in my chicken I had loads of thick hairs still on them I wanted to puke just the thought of it.. 2nd question when do they cook their food and how do they store it as my chicken tasted as if it was legit 5 days old and stiff as hell even my scissors was even struggling to cut through it. I refused to give my kids these to eat so ended up just cooking them dinner which I didn't plan to hence the takeaway but no way the chicken was all pink i wouldn't even feed their meat to my dogs if I had any. Lords knows what underground their meat are being sourced from. I ordered a large meal with hard food and it didn't come with any hard food, called up to be told they don't do hard food on sundays and will be refunded but why an earth isit on the menu to begin with so I ended up paying delivery and service for incomplete meal :/ this is why I rarely order from Carribean even tho I love it cz I dunno who they got cooking up in that kitchen but the food is TERRIBLE stick to home made Carribean it's more authentic and atleast u know ur chicken is washed.. Honestly the only thing going for them was their Rice & Peas that was it hence the 1* This Is WOOD GREEN branch by the way and I also experienced the same couple years ago in TOTTENHAM branch in terms of their meat being stiff as if it's been cooked days prior I avoided it for all These years wish I continued to as thru ever clearly not improved.. trust me if u get fresh food cooked from there u are lucky maybe they cook on every sundays fresh for Monday and the rest of the week reheated or they freeze and reheat lord knows but that needs help and some real seasonings. REFER to photos! Look closely at the hairs honestly my 3 year old can season meat better than that and 10 year old can cook better than that very disappointed and will not be wasting another penny on that again I don't care if it's 10 years down the line NEVER again..Food was dead dry and tasteless.. if u don't like cooking please don't as U ruin it for everyone. Avoid at all costs - tried this place twice now, first time my food was an hour late with items missing. Second time is at the time of writing this review - food is closing in at 2 hours late, being delayed further every 5 minutes, with no way to contact the restaurant as their phone number states they’re busy whenever you try to call. Awful customer service - don’t waste your time here

Terrible customer service! Ordered via uber eats and they gave me the wrong order. I called the restaurant and spoke to a gentleman and told him i would even show him the proof of my order vs what they gave but he didnt want to listen or cared to discuss it, was rude and told me to pay more attention to my order next time. I mean who says that to a customer. Lucky i wasn’t at the restaurant. Fair to say i wont order from their again. The Enfield branch is a lot better!

This was one of the worst food experiences of my life. 1. There was no salad on my food. Which is standard with rice and peas. And any caribbean meal. 2. I ordered 2 large portions for myself and my wife, and what we received couldn't feed my 10yr old. 3. The presentation was a joke, there was oil everywhere. 4. I ordered 2 rum cakes and we received none. My food was rubbish and I got robbed. Brown Eagle fix up look sharp!!!!!!

The fact that i needed to put salt on my food should tell you everything. I wanted authentic Jamacian tasty food. And guess what, i still want authentic Jamacian tasty food cause I didn't get it here. Chicken was rock solid and there was barely any chicken on the bone for what was left. The rice and peas was flat and bland definitely microwaved. They need to step it up honestly. If they think they are getting any repeat customers. I wasted my £9

Whatever you do NEVER order delivery by the app. You will be waiting for hours. I ordered a meal at 7.30pm .... it is now 9.50pm and food still hasn’t arrived. I’ve called the shop and nobody answers. This hands down is the worst experience ever. I Don’t know what they are doing in this place but they need to fix up. Not happy at all. They take orders and close the shop whilst orders are still outstanding then leave you hanging arguing with Deliveroo like a mug. Bloody shabby. Shaun and Sonia sort it out

If only the short miserable lady aka (screw Face) learns to smile, afterall the customers pay your wages. If you can't smile stay out of sight, no one wants to see your miserable long face. A hungry customer becomes an (Angry)customer when kept waiting too long, however you treat your customers, you will receive the exact same treatment. On a positive note the other members of staff are excellent, all it takes is one rotten bad fruit in the fruit bowl. The food has also improved, theirs always room for improvement. Service is diguesting, previously came here as I always do an ordered Oxtail & Rice to find a hair in my food. Came back and the lady kindly apologised and refunded me money back. Came back here on the 11th Tuesday at 5:40pm to order the same thing, ordered two Oxtails & White Rice.... Went home to put my food on a plate to find a long blond hair embedded in my rice.... Straight away I headed back to show them that I found a hair. I showed Glen...Who told me that I can only get my money back for one meal because there was nothing wrong with the other meal, as far as I was concerned I was not about to dig through the food, I had intentions of eating. Nor was I willing to eat the food when hair was found in the rice. Glen tried to insinuate that there "long blond hair was from the fur on my partner's jacket, when she had been nowhere near the food. I asked him if he would be happy to eat the other food, knowing that the same meal had hair in it?!.... even he hesitated but still suggested I should eat it. I asked to speak to the manager, he then got Ms Perkins who was not even the manager. Ms Perkins came to assist the situation, to be quite honest she was no help, she was also claiming that we had planted the hair, by repeatedly stating no one with blond hair works there.... it's a Jamaica Restaurant which has female employees who work there several of them who wear wigs... At this point I called my mother who was in the kitchen as I was plating up the food to confirm that the event of what happened prior to finding the hair, so that ms Perkins could hear that I did not even have time to put the hair in the food. After overhearing the conversation only then did it become apparent to her that we, as customer should not have to deal with this poor service. I even asked her if she would eat the other meal knowing that there was hair found in the rice, she said she would eat something else....even with the hair found in the Rice?! What else would I have without rice?! She gave me an email address and advised me that someone will be in touch with me but does not know when. I was left with NO refund, No meal. Based on this experience, judging from what I was told by the employees they would still eat the food regardless if there was a hair found or not... Meaning they will still sell you food...knowing the hygiene standards are not acceptable. HONESTLY IF I COULD GIVE LOWER REVIEW I WOULD!!

The Gentleman who works in this place is a Saint. Helpful, polite and cooks luke a dream. But as for them two rude sister's in there, well what can I say. There faces are as sour as they're cooking - fix up sista's we're all here to do a days work, so try doing it cheerfully and I work for the NHS so I know all about rude people.😂
