Broomside park Beefeater in County Durham

This is a really pleasant venue for casual pub dining. The food is not terrible, nor is it fantastic. I guess it does what it says on the tin. Palatable, even if portions have shrunk somewhat over the last year or so - more than likely as a consequence of massively rising prices - as they are clearly working hard to maintain a decent price point for the customer. Staff are generally welcoming, but this can fall off after the meal. Fair place for a quick lunch or brunch, probably would steer clear if wanting a dinner with guests, though.

Food absolutely disgusting after waiting 95 mins either cold or overcooked , feel sorry for the waitress she really nice , will never go back again

Much busier evening due to the warm weather. Staff were stretched but still made our visit enjoyable. Issue with Blue Light App (again!) but the discount was still honoured which was greatly appreciated and will keep this as our " busy day at work can't be bothered to cook" go to place 😀👍

Service staff good but nowhere near enough staff to cope. Waited 20 minutes after finishing main course ( had to go request service ). Even after ordering ( only 3 desserts ) still waiting now approaching 10 minutes.

Went today and ordered fish and chips. It was served burned and curled over. The fish was as dry as sticks as it had been cooked too long. Absolute waste of money. Not even worth 1 star!!

Staff were fantastic, especially Helen. Order taken very concisely with my intolerances checked and verified with virtually no fuss. I also heard other people's dietary requests acknowledged and dealt with well. It was a pleasure to meet Joe the chef and shake his hand. One of the best steak meals I've ever had, and we have fillet mignon often. I ordered the steak sampler and all the different cuts of steak were cooked to perfection. The accompanying sauces and prawns were juicy, succulent and so tasty. Gutted that we live 200 miles away, though I'm sure we'll make the drive back up every now and then for our steak dream again.

Had a nice experience here at lunch time. Josh was so friendly and delivered great customer service. The baconeater burger was good, especially the fries that come with it. I would happily return.

Jason was superb! He was very attentive and catered to my allergy needs excellently. He went above and beyond for me and I truly appreciate his exceptional kindness. The rest of the staff were fantastic too. The food selection was more than enough and the quality of food was excellent. Highly recommend and wish more places were like this.

Arrived today was shocked with the new parking restrictions. In the summer sitting in the garden I can well spend over 3 hrs with friends. On principle I will think twice about going again. It's never needed parking restrictions all of these years so why now other than to catch the unsuspecting motorist who forgets to put their registration on the I pad. Absolutely discusting. I will go to the Sportsman in future where there are no parking restrictions.

The waiter was not hospitable or friendly . Dull tone miserable and no smile, salmon undercooked and vegetables soggy. My pudding of Apple and blackberry crumble not crunchy but stodgy and raw . First time at the beef eater and would not return to be honest . Not a pleasant experience . Table of 9 and all out food was poor .

Always love eating here, food is always tasty and the staff are great and very Accommodating. My granddaughter has allergies And they are great with her. Nothing is too much trouble.

Usually, I have a very good experience here, meals/ Sunday lunch very good and plenty on the plate. Unfortunately, the last visit was very disappointing. Food on the floor around our table which also needed cleaning before we could sit down. Staff was friendly, but a couple of the servers clearly had little knowledge of available menu and people around us were ordering food only to be told it was available. Sunday lunch in the past was always a treat and very enjoyable. Unfortunately we was offered two choices, gammon or Turkey?? Clearly over ordered at xmas. No pork,chicken or beef. Price had gone up and food portions had got a lot smaller. Very reluctant to return, which is very disappointing because I love beefeater.

Have visited beefeater at Belmont on several occasions but unfortunately on this occasion the food was of very poor quality we both had steak ,one fillet which was so small for the price being charged the other was a sirloin which was full of fat and tasteless, don't think i will be dining there again unless they change there meat supplier, the whole experience was absolutely terrible

The Christmas day meals are the worst I have ever seen 7of us went the 7 meals were rubbish

Breakfast very poor. Very overcrowded, 5min+ queue for the slow and solitary coffee machine. No croissants all morning. Cooked meats all tasted bad, bacon etc low quality.

We had a great time as a family together. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Friendly staff but overall extremely slow. 3hrs free parking won't cover 3- courses. Food not worth the prices which is why discounts are always available.

The staff gave our full football team a free 3 course meal and donated to our fundraiser with a voucher the staff and food was amazing cannot thank them enough for such a lovely evening staff go above and beyond nothing is too much hassle! we always choose here for breakfast as it’s also the best breakfast in the whole area and great value and kids eat free

Had a really lovely meal here! We were a large group (14 people) but the food still came out so quickly and the staff were so welcoming and attentive (thank you Helen and Jack!)Will definitely be going back, something for everyone on the menu!

Just had the worst meal ever.To begin no inch’s cider.ordered rump steak and a sirloin steak,No74 rub as it had never been stocked .medium.both came very rare.No tomato or mushroom on plate.complained to manager.she said to have food and drink free and disappeared.

Went for Sunday dinner today.. everything was frozen, meat was stone cold, parsnip was raw. The waitress had to come back twice to confirm our order (basic dinners with 3 drinks). We overheard our waitress ask someone else how they would like their chicken breast cooked. Can’t believe they get custom for there Sunday dinners they are awful. Avoid.

Used to like this place really gone downhill. Service very slow every time. They always ask if you want fries or triple cooked chips ... The last twice we've been there they didn't bring what was asked for. I always add a fried egg or two when I have a steak, they might as well be boiled the last twice the yolks were that hard. It's a convenient location for us and the food is ok so when we need to go somewhere unplanned we will probably try again but wouldn't plan to visit deliberately anymore...Shame as it used to be very nice.

It's good, atmosphere is just right, but some of the food can be kind of bordering to be bad. The whole place just gives off 40 year old single drunken dad vibes, cool place tho, and cool workers, kinda would recommend

I went in for a coffee while waiting for my car to get repaired. It was a horrible, rainy day. The staff on shift were just finishing off after breakfast. They were pleasant & welcoming. Thankyou very much.

Food is as to be expected in a Beefeater. Nothing special just passable.

Was not impressed. Steak was grisly Drafty table No choice of dip for mushrooms. Ice cream rubbish bring back fudge sauce and paprika chicken!

Came for a meal 25th sept 24 and Absolutely fantastic food and we're served by Courtney and Michelle Absolutely 1st class customer service couldn't have asked for more. They are a credit to your company. Will definitely return soon infact booked for tomorrow and boxing day. We have only rebooted due to the service we received from the staff.

One of the worst meals we’ve ever had! The waiter greeted us in the most unwelcoming manner, no smile, no hello; threw down the menus on the table and then abruptly told us no chicken was available if we chose from the Sunday menu and walked off. The guests on the table beside us looked shocked at how we were treated. We almost walked out at that point without ordering a thing. We should have trusted our instincts and left when we had the chance. We ordered some ribs and steak. Big mistake! The ribs were dry, lacked flavour and a small pot of sad looking bbq sauce accompanied the dried up ribs. The steak sadly lacked flavour too! I make a better steak at home. Straws for the drinks were pitiful! They didn’t even touch the bottom of the glass. Halfway through the meal we decided enough was enough and we asked for the bill before we had even finished our meal. It’s fair to say we won’t ever be returning due to the utterly disappointing meal and experience. Some customer service training is much needed in this venue. Enter at your own risk!!

The team here are fantastic, so friendly and welcoming when we went in for breakfast and really went out of their way to help me after travelling home and leaving some lost property behind. We also had a really nice breakfast that was freshly cooked to order and all you can eat! Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Breakfast both days was really good food great and John and Gemma were great interactive with my 1 1/2 year old, helped my wife out when she was on her own. Generally a service with a smile

Been loads of times as a work lunch, menu changes several times over the last couple of years. Service always good for what it is. Food has varied but usual good for the price.

Great food, very good deal! Evening set: 2 courses (starter and main or main and dessert) plus a drink for only £17.99. I took Cheesy Potato Dippers as a starter, the chips were really good. I took Baconeater Burger for main, also really good, the french fries that came with it were ok. My friend took Caramel Apple Betty for dessert, it didn’t look good, but I tried and it was tasty. The place looks nice, has a nice garden, but unfortunately it was too cold for us (Yugoslavs) to sit outside. Will try it next time, hopefully.

Went in for a family meal ( 2 adults 1 child ), my wife's order arrived wrong, my daughter's order turned up with missing items, also my order turned up with items missing. Food was just warm, they failed to rectify my wife's order ( not a happy wife ). Not worth the effort to come no wonder it's quite!!!

Nice clean pub. Decent menu choice. Not great in terms of service and knowledge of what was in stock etc. To cut a long story short I ended up having to make a different meal choice after being told one option was unavailable, only to then find out that my original choice was in fact available. No effort made by any staff to try to rectify this for me. Alternative choice in food that I made was a little underwhelming.

Went here for our teas last Friday. The food and drinks were fabulous, especially the sirloin steak. The quality of the sirloin steak was the best I've had and cooked to perfection. We were served by Craig who was very friendly and down to earth and made us all feel very comfortable. We will certainly return for food and drinks.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Shown straight to a table. Our server was Andrew, he was fantastic, lovely and friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Our food was really nice, plenty of vegan friendly dishes. Dessert was especially good and reasonably priced too.

Staff are outstandingly courteous and can’t do enough to make me feel at home whilst I’m working away for 2 weeks. Big thank you there’s a lot of restaurants that can learn something from you. 😊

Use to quite like it, but it has gone down hill lately, maybe because they are trying to sell it. There are not many staff and both my wife and I have found them rude. My wife order a vegan chicken cob salad and her friends ordered the normal chicken cob salad. When it arrived my wife questioned which one was vegan, the woman pointed at one and said " that one as it is smaller" My wife questioned again just to find out it was NOT vegan, lucky she did not eat it, all cob salads delivered to the table had real chicken on them. It was an upsetting experience and my wife and her friends will not be back.

I chose three courses which were well priced, potato dippers, beef beef burger and bacon. To finish three good scoops of ice cream. While the other had Salmon fillet with chips.

Only been a couple of times but the breakfast here is banging. One of my top breakfasts here.

This is our go to place for road trip breakfasts kids love it, food is spot on and staff couldn't be nicer. Five stars.

10/10 experience. Stayed in the Premier Inn next door and went for unlimited breakfast and lunch. The food was perfect and all the staff went above and beyond (honourable mention to Courtney and Andrew for making the experience so much better). If you’re passing by the Durham area or staying in the premier inn hotel next door to it I can’t recommend this enough! Will definitely be going in the future!

Brilliant staff and delicious food

Just came home from a fantastic celebration meal for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We have been wonderfully looked after, from booking the table of our choice, to excellent prompt service and even a bottle of Prosecco. It really made my parents feel special on their anniversary. Thank you all so much.

Been for breakfast with the Easter bunny this morning with my 2 year old. Absolutely amazing morning. The food was lovely and the staff went above and beyond for it. My little girl absolutely loved it and it was great value for money. Looking forward to the next event.

Had family meal here other night and got to say it was very nice. Whole family had sirloin steaks and it was the best steak I've had for a long time. Juicy and very tasty. And even better we had a voucher for 30% off main meals. Update .. went for lunch today and very poor. The chips were rock hard and inedible, steak came out and the orders were wrong. Rump was medium rare swimming in blood when asked for well done and sirloin was very well done when asked for medium, so well done as inedible. Mrs ate hers but my cremated steak went back and then had to wait 20mins for another one to come out. In the end we cancelled our desserts and left disappointed. Not so keen to go back again after that to be honest.....shame.

Vist on Saturday 16th March, evening meal with the wife. Large burger for myself and a rare steak for the Mr's. Fabulous food and atmosphere in the pub, and a wind down for the two of us. Service by a lad called Andrew T. He made the evening, so pleasant and amenable, very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend, and return to the Broomside Park Beefeater.

Andrew was spot on, a perfect gentleman and brilliant with the kids. Would definitely come back again
