The weather was hot , we ordered a pot of tea to share , my only observation is the outdoor table we were on needs repairing ( see the photos ) a lot of money has been spent in the location , why not repair the damaged tables .

Sadly brick site exhibition is so overgrown with wild growth it lets the place down. Especially as its first thing you see driving in. Cafe need to offer decent coffee. Good feature was kids park, great attention to offering good experience to children here. A bit of effort would bring this up to a 5 star attraction.

Felt a bit like a charity/community cafe, so adjust your expectations accordingly. Staffing issues affect so many cafes these days, and lack of sufficient staff meant a long queue to order and a significant wait for food. Fortunately, we had plenty of time but the delay caused problems for other visitors (lots of grumbling/demanding refunds). Sandwiches were adequate. Beautiful location. Plenty of parking. Public loos.

Compared to a lot of cafes we’ve tried this week this cafe was amongst the best - mainly because it was open and serving food at 3.30pm! They have a dog friendly room, toilets and serve the usual cakes, toasties, chips etc. the food was freshly made, tasty and cheap. The staff were also really friendly and made a fuss of our dog.

Had heard that the opening of this cafe was hit and miss so took our own sandwiches and coffee. Visited yesterday Friday 18th March 2022. Cafe closed despite the beautiful weather and the children's park being very full. A coach full of school children there also on a school trip. No alternative available for ice cream so a great opportunity for an ice cream van.

My wife and I have been here several times in recent days after discovering the cafe during a walk to North Stack from Holyhead. For a small, sparsely staffed cafe in one of the less well-known tourist places on Anglesey, the offering is surprisingly good, with a decent choice of small meals and hot or cold snacks, as well as home-made cakes and hot or cold drinks. The staff do an excellent job, consistently, at getting orders taken and served quickly, and the food quality has been excellent. Seems to be closed on Mondays and Wednesdays at present (October).

The setting within the park is excellent as are the staff who were friendly and chatty answering questions about the place happily. This is a lovely cafe, essential for visitors to the country park, with good food and menu. The principle is great - to help disdvantaged people into work, but they were too understaffed when we visited and the poor waitress was terribly stressed. We waited longer than ideal, we we didn't mind. Normally they will have 3 staff members so should be able to provide a good service.

We had stayed at the Travel lodge in Holyhead on a Saturday night and woke to no breakfast before our walk round Holyhead Mountain. After walking through the desolate high street we found this oasis. We where helped by a charming young lady who took our order for a full veggie breakfast which was served efficiently and was really tasty. The same waitress also was a great help directing us to the start of our walk and is a credit to the venue. We would love to visit again and will recommend others to have breakfast here

I think Angela E below has mixed up the cafes? The Breakwater Cafe does excellent breakfasts at a very reasonable price. Toasties are delicious and come with a nice side salad. Coffee is served in crockery not polystyrene and the delicious lattes in a glass mug. Its lovely and airy and clean and the staff are helpful. I regularly visit because of all the above. Parked near marina and walked our two dogs along the path to the quarry. On a December morning with a cold wind, it was a real relief to see the cafe was open after the one mile buffeted stroll. As I arrived at 12.15 I asked if I was the first customer , and received a cheery 'yes' reply. A latte and flapjack refreshed me whilst the dogs enjoyed the fresh water bowl placed outside. A welcome oasis and delighted to find it open at that time. Have used the cafe before but this is the first review submitted. Will use it again as it is a veritable life saver at a time like this.

Another member of staff came out of the kitchen and said 'you can have coffee but we've stopped food. We're closing at 3.30'. We said but the door says you close at 4 and we checked. this looks like a nice place and is very clean and apart from the one woman manning the coffee machine and the one girl clearing tables who took our order there is not one thing - not one redeeming factor about this place. We would never have had this experience if my 2 children werent hungry. They were due food so instead of driving back for half and hour to feed them we chose here as they had a play area. We ordered, they played but it started to rain and it already had been 20 minutes waiting for food so they came in - another 10 minutes and still no food, so my youngest (baby) starts to get frustrated and upset - a couple of ladies who had seated themselves near us just before the kids came in were unhappy about my child crying so instead of just moving they made a point of getting one of the ladies from the kitchen - we assume the owner/manager/senior staff member to come to their table which already was a miracle in itself as she clearly was doing very little work and preferred to gossip and stand around instead of working. Once the one lady sat herself down she then pointed to our table and shouted out to sort out the noise - this staff member then proceeded to get the ladies up and as she passed made eye contact with me and said very loudly "in here is quieter". By this point the rudeness was beyond - had it just been myself and my children i would have demanded my money back and left for the service and rudeness alone but my other child was waiting patiently for her food and we had pregnant lady with us - before I could even decide what to do next the same staff member came to me and told me that myself and my baby had to leave - with after thought I should have told her to refund my mother in law as its disgraceful to make a 2 year old wait by this point 40 minutes for a chicken sandwich in a cafe that wasnt even a quarter full and 4 staff members could easily have looked after at a much faster pace and this is coming from someone who was a waitress to a good few places that were much larger and I manned them on my own let alone with three others. I was sat in my car for a further 15 minutes before a family member came out with food for us - 55 minutes for 3 sandwiches, beans on toast, 1 toastie, 1 panini and a jacket potato - absolutely disgraceful. The family member then stayed with us as he refused to re enter the cafe due to the fact that after asking me to leave they were shocked and actually complained about having to put our food in takeaway boxes - they actually believed that paid in full food would be left even though they refused to serve us and asked us to leave - absolutely disgusting - and in the end the chicken sandwich went unconsumed as it didnt look nice - i didnt even throw it to the seagulls it was that questionable and the cheese in my panini was that horrible plastic looking processed cheese so for the price it was highly overpriced and not even panini but a flattened warmed up baguette - food over priced and a letdown, drinks lukewarm or cold by the time they were served, slow service, rude staff (apart from 2). I appreciate a crying baby is a nuisance in public areas but had they brought the kids food out first within 15 minutes like other places do then this entire affair would never have happened. If your a hiker/runner/rambler or someone who plain just loves the outdoors please avoid this place with a bargepole - dont support the rudeness - within spitting distance is a little shop that has a coffee machine, cold drinks snacks etc that is run by the National Wildlife Trust - support them at least in the knowledge that part of the money they earn goes to the Wildlife Trust

If this had been anywhere else, I would've complained about the slow service. They warned us that it would be slow as they had a private function to cater for. It didn't look like they had the experience to run such a heavy load. However, a big however, all the staff were working flat out, were friendly and genuinely cared about it. For that I'll forgive anything. The food was simple, unfussy and well prepared. We had a range of options, baked potatoes, sandwiches, panini and salad. The cost was amazing with five meals and drinks coming to a very reasonable £21.00. I would definitely go back and would recommend that you go but make sure you've got the time to cope with the potentially slow service. Sit back and enjoy the lovely staff and the views.

Called in for a light lunch as it is my partners’ birthday. Had the seafood platter to share. We were told no taramasalata available and they replaced it with mackerel pate which was lovely. However one of the main components of the platter was a mix of ?prawns/ crayfish and crab I think it was. It tasted odd and smelt bad like old socks. I thought it was my imagination to begin with until my partner said don’t eat any more I think it’s off.. it was also a strange colour. The smell was quite strong. We ate everything else. We told the waitress when she came to collect the plates and said she would tell the chef. We went to the till to pay ( half expecting the chef would have come out to apologise, but he didn’t). The waitress said sorry for that and charged us the full amount ( approx £35 for the platter and two lattes). Very disappointing and I’m afraid we will never call again ( we are also fairly local).
