A lovely quirky restaurant/ bookshop. We went with friends who are local. Took our own alcohol which cuts the cost. A lovely server Esme, had a good knowledge of the menu. We all enjoyed our choices. Portions were just right. Nice that you can choose how much chilli you want in your dish. Just a pity we were on holiday as we would visit often.

Honestly, this place is a gem. Properly quirky, as it's literally a bookshop, but the set menu Thai food is top quality. Just bring you own drink, order your food and enjoy. Got to recommend the chicken satay, and the special massaman curry. It's amazing. Hats off to the chef!

It was my first time at the restaurant, and I was wowed by the service. The waiting staff were super friendly and the chef even came out to check the food was OK, she was lovely. I had the chicken satay, followed by the chicken massaman. Both dishes were delicious, and there was plenty of it. The place was very quirky, by day it is a bookshop. Would love to come back for more great food.

I visited this restaurant unplanned on the evening of Saturday, 8th June and had an amazing night which was helped by how delicious the food was, and how charming the bookshop was, but almost entirely down to the EXCEPTIONAL waiting staff working that night. What a genuinely lovely team of girls working - they delivered such attentive, kind and welcoming service which made me and my partner want to come again. The table staff here deserve recognition for their hard work and lovely character, though I’m sure it’s already clear to anyone who is working with them. We will be back! ❤️

We enjoyed our meal here and the food was exceptional. The service was polite and mannered - really nice team. All the dishes can be made vegan or vegetarian which was a plus. I had Tofu Green Curry and Vegetable Spring Rolls - absolutely delightful. My husband had Tofu Pad Thai and he cleaned his plate so that speaks volumes. One strange thing is ice costs £2 but I can appreciate that Covid has probably been a factor in that so no problem. Booking ahead is recommended.

This place was lovely, but limited (only one) table available for groups of 6 and larger and that too outside. Weather was nice so we didn’t mind sitting outside. All items can be made veggie which is great! Service was good and the food was tasty and authentic. Only complaint would be that the rice portion size was on the smaller side and the the sweet chilli sauce was basically melted sugar with coriander in it. Love that it’s a book shop so we ended up buying a couple of books for the kids! All in all a fab little restaurant/book shop, with tasty food in a fun/quaint location! Deffo worth a visit!

Food: we loved everything. We have recently been to Thailand and this food was the same quality and in some cases better. We tried the mango salad and the minced pork 'salad' for starters, both great. For mains we ordered the tofu massaman and the curry with pork slices. Again both fantastic. The tofu massaman was absolutely amazing and I say that as a non vegan. £20 for a starter+main fixed menu which I think is a good price. (10% on top which I guess has become standard now...) Service: lovely & attentive waitress. We were found a table despite not having booked. Atmosphere: super cosy and unique. One of those places you really remember! We sat in the area at the back where it looks like a conservatory. It was raining and the sound of the rain tapping on the ceiling added to the general cosiness and warmth of the place. 100% recommend!

How have I never noticed this place before! I have walked up and down the old town numerous of times and never realised there was a Thai food restaurant here. Maybe because it’s also a book store? Anyway, after a few drinks… my husband and I fancied some Thai and found this place through Googling what was around. Was not disappointed. Very tasty food!!! Is it a little pricey? This place used to be amazing but unfortunately I felt very ripped off on Valentine’s Day. The portions were tiny, didn’t taste that great and should have been priced around £16 for a 2 courses not £20 plus service. My sauce was runny with water, pork was dry, no kick and basic flavour. However, the waiter was very helpful and it is a nice location.

This quirky little place used to be really good. Never disappointed. We had take aways during Covid that were nice too. This was first time in a few years of eating in and what a dissappointment, this place has gone down hill. All i can say is i left feeling completely ripped off. Food was just nothing special and nothing in comparison to other places around now, portions were small compared to what they used to be. Overall totally overpriced for what you get. Plus they add service charge on to the bill which increases price too! Wont be going back here , far better thai places around

It had been a long time since we have eaten here. Good service and quirky, but sadly not great Thai food. One of our favourite styles of food, and have recently been to Thailand. The Tom yum, chicken kra prou, and masaman we had were not authentic in looks or taste..There are other Thai restaurants in bexhill and Hastings that are more authentic. Add in the high price, no drinks available other than tea and coffee, and it’s hard to imagine we will return. Obviously some peoples favourite, but I find it hard to see the appeal.

The worst Thai we have ever tried. First night arriving at Hastings, hungry and tired. Walked past this place and thought it looks interesting. Orders 2 different curries and a pad Thai for takeaway, I couldn’t believe what I was looking at when I got back to the house and opened the boxes! The curries were mainly oily sauces, hardly any meat in them. Pad Thai was also bad. We were so disappointed, especially after the positive reviews we saw here. It came to £38 and I wouldn’t have mind paying this price if the food was good. I have given 2 stars for the helpful and polite young man working there.

I love the Hoxley and have eaten there several times. They do incredible authentic Thai food that is unbeaten anywhere else! However when we went there was an very loud karaoke party going on in the upstairs function room that was so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk across the table. We were unaware upon booking that this would be happening which would have been good to know.

Have had a takeaway from here quite a few times now. Very good flavours and reasonable portion sizes. Price is about usual for Thai food. Only criticisms - Service has sometimes been friendly, sometimes has really not been, and it closes at 7.30pm, which is strangely for a takeaway, as most people would be wanting to order from this time and after at a weekend. Overall though, highly recommended for the quality of the food.
