Meat portions are tiny. Bowl is just filled with rice. Overpriced and overrated.

Food wasn't hot, the tiny spoon of chilli was barely noticeable in the eating and there were cold draughts in the seating area. The quality continues to drop here, and that's a real shame for something that used to be really looked forward to.

Taste has gone down hill, quite sad given how good it was several years ago.

Click and collect is a sham. They market it as given you the ability to 'skip the queue', but in reality I turned up and get told they haven't made the food yet and then I have to wait until they've emptied the queue before they make mine. I waited 25 minutes when it would have been faster to just join the queue. Portion sizes are still too small for the price also.

The portions have gotten so small, I paid for extra rice and guacamole - no more rice than normal and the guacamole was missing. The bowl was barely half full. At £9 it’s just not worth it anymore! Really disappointing.

The staff are extremely rude and clearly don’t want to be there. The food has went down hill rapidly.

Tasty and filling Mexican standard stuff. There was a decent range of optional toppings, and the chorizo crunch (fried cubes of chorizo mixed in with crumbled nacho shards) added great texture to my burrito. They offer a chickpea crunch version for the veggies, too! My barbacoa burrito was great, a hefty handful, and the 3* spicy chipotle salsa was just the right side of tingly-top-lip for me!

Ordered on Deliveroo, and turned up with missing drink and half full carton of food. Rang Boojon to complain and did not even get an apology, just you need to go through Deliveroo response. What a joke, joining the many reviewers who feel that have been well and truly ripped off.

Absolutely shocked at what i had got, I had ordered salsa on two rice boxes which were missing and had also missing tortilla chips which I got guacamole as a side to go with them but had just received the guacamole, when I rang the store she had told me to contact deliveroo as if it’s there job to put the salsa on my food or to pack the chips this is shocking customer service as I am a regular to boojum and am very disappointed.

My husband went to Boojum Botanic drove from Lisburn, got two buritto bowls. When I have started eating all I could taste was just salt, guacamole was pure salt, so whole meal was ruined as guacamole was all over everything. I have rang and said to the girl on the phone whole situation and that someone should try guacamole to what she said she doesnt like guacamole so she wouldnt taste it and to make complaint to Uber which I explained again my husband drove to get it. I know misatkes can happen but staff should maybe try what they sell and mainly maybe some customer service training as girl on the phone told me to call round tomorrow and get money back and hang up.

Tbh, it's probably one of the most overrated food places of all time. The burritos are always nearly ice cold no matter what, and for some reason it appears that there's barely any flavour in anything. This place seems to overly rely on copious amounts of hot sauce to give the food flavour, as everything else seems barely seasoned. The mexican rice is mexican in name only, and has basically no flavour. Generally most of the options lack in flavour and are very bland, it's basically Mexican food for people who don't like Mexican. It's more akin to a Subway than anything actually Mexican. I feel like if you've ever been to the USA or Mexico and had real Mexican food, this place is a 2/5 for food, but if you haven't maybe it's a 4. Also the music they play is awful and annoying, and the toilets are absolutely vile, truly disgusting. Highly doubt I'll be back as I've tried it 3 times now and I've decided it kind of sucks.

I Have been to all Boojums but the Botanic one beats them all .. greeted by a guy called Francis as to be the friendliest guy EVER! Bought a Boojum bowl which I absolutely love thanks 😊 will defo be back .. ps Francis is a real credit to Boojum

Super feed but sometimes the additional condiments; cheese, salsa, guacamole can negatively affect the heat of the burrito.

A friend recommended this place as we were visiting Belfast on a girls trip and I can understand why! We didn't know what to expect and it's initially a little confusing as there are so many options! But all the staff were so helpful in explaining everything to us..... I'd describe as a Mexican version of Subway if that makes sense! You choose your dish (burritos, tacos, rice bowl etc) then select meat, then ask staff to add whichever toppings you want from salad trays, then add any extra toppings at a little extra cost if you want, and lastly pick a sauce. The staff then expertly rolled our burritos and they were HUGE! We were expecting a small snack but it filled us up all day! and perfect for a busy day as the food was ready within minutes, we ate up enjoying our food and were on our way again within a half hour! There is a large clean seating area to eat in. Only slight negative is that there is only 1 toilet for the restaurant and other customers were taking aaaaaages, so there was quite a long wait for this - and you do need to use the toilet if for no other reason that to wash your hands as the sauce dripped everywhere! :-P Highly recommend if in Belfast, we are only sad that we never did get chance to pop back for a return visit!

Nice place. Good food. Good staff. Toilets aren't very clean at times. But Good to see the shop busy. I would imagine keeping the toilets clean would be hard, when there's so many younger disrespectful teens coming in. Overall a very good eatery 👌

Had such a nice vegatarian burrito here, very tasty. Highly recommend! 1 burrito was around £8-9 depending on sitting in or takeaway. You can choose what goes into your burrito from rice, sauce, filling (beef, veggie alternative etc), kind of like subway in that sense.

I guess they’re selling well because it’s really hard to find something to eat around Belfast. So if you’re out of options you can try burrito here. I don’t regret but I didn’t like it either. Because, they use basmati rice for burrito and the seasoning of the rice weren’t satisfactory. (Seriously, at least wash the rice well.) Beans tasted fine but didn’t look like Mexican style. Vegetable fry was very undercooked. Guacamole sauce was fine. Ps Lovely staff and nice interior.

Never been to Boojum before, service was quick and friendly. The portions were really good for your money, not my usual dine in place but enjoyed my first time there.

I'm a big Boojum fan, but recently they've dropped their standards, I'm constantly having to correct staff with my order and is it really that difficult to roll a burrito? Always seems like they make a hatchet job of it. It's the same across all the Belfast shops. Had 1 Staff member scoop all the spillage from the counter with their hands and then immediately went to serve me without washing their hands, I refused the food and left. Generally all staff are pleasant but there's always 1 or 2 who are just rude or sarcastic. Had 1 rude staff member say to me " so everything then?" No actually, there's about 6 items there that I don't want so wind your neck in. In the past it would have been 1 bad burrito in 10, now its 50/50 Hope Boojum get their act together as I always went out of my way for a treat but it's just not worth it at present.

Went here the other day. Got my usual burrito bowl with mexican rice, chicken, peppers and onions, lettuce, grated cheese and sweetcorn. Tasted lovely and I enjoyed it. However, around an 1 hour later, the boojum had upset my stomach and I was running to the toilet and quite frankly was in agony, as well as the days to follow. Never had this kind of experience with the other boojums in NI, won’t be going to this one again incase it was there chicken or peppers or whatever it was. My friend also experienced the same thing after eating his.

Food was tasty as always although could have been warmer. Slight mixup in the order as ordered a burrito and received a burrito bowl. Good portion sizes. Handy for a quick and filling dinner after a late night at work.

The chicken was a little dry, but I would return. The bowl is more value then the wrap.

Food is good. But if you're doing takeaway only can you tell me before I order. Had paid and everything and the guy says it's takeaway only. If I actually waited till I was home it would be freezing cold.

Great food! It's a Mexican vibe...burritos, rice bowls, tacos etc. You select your base choose your fillings, toppings, salad and sauce ..simple. It was tasty food and definitely filling as the portions are generous so definitely go with an empty stomach. The seating area is vast but wooden and cold for winter time so we ate with our coats on. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely adore boojum, the food is always amazing and is a reliable choice for food. Which is why we went when absolutely starving but it was ruined by staff. The young man serving me literally stopped wrapping my burrito in order to finish his conversation (about nothing relevant) with the girl on the checkout. This wasn’t as bad as the girl on the checkout then talking away to him as I stood in front of her waiting to pay- no joke she fully ignored me for a good minute standing while talking about her life. Still gonna go to boojum, just never this one again.

One server really did mess everything up - the one at the end who wraps it up, dark hair, make up. Order was perfect, I ordered just a little bit of rice. At the last server when she was wrapping it, she suddenly left it, went and got a LOT of rice and a wrap and emptied half of my food into the new wrap, then scrapped the rest of my filling, peppers etc into bin. She said it was ripped. Fair enough - make it again, DON'T bin half my food and try to load on rice. Not the first time this girl has done this and seemed surprised I don't want to pay for an almost completely rice burrito and would rather go elsewhere. Bit shocking the waste this girl is causing from one customer.

So disappointed in this boojum…. Myself and my partner got a burrito for collection - both with extra meat and extra rice and it was the tiniest boojum I’ve ever had - wouldn’t even think we paid extra? Ridiculous considering the price of the boojum

We came here bexause we heard Dara O'Brien recommend Boojum on a podcast, and this branch os close to the Botanic Gardens. Be aware that this is much more a fast-food place than a restaurant - while we did sit down, the place has very loud music playing (weird 70s prog-rock from Deep Purple while we were there) which didn't exactly encourage us to make ourselves comfortable! It also made ordering slightly difficult as we were first-timers and need to learn the process. However, the burritos are excellent, and the range of options meant that all six of us ended up with quite different orders. I would definitely come back, but perhaps not to eat in next time.

Got a deliveroo order from here (which was a balls up too but a separate story) and The portion sizes were ridiculously small. Barely filled half way and spent over £25. Spent extra on more guacamole portions and got barely any. What a joke. Tiny portions and so expensive now- is there any need to be so stingy? Not the first time I’ve had this type of experience from the botanic avenue premises either. Please have a word.

As I advised in my previous review of this place, we stopped going to Boojum after the whole blasphemy thing. But we all missed it and decided to be magnanimous. So we resumed attendance and I'll admit it was pleasant to be back. I went today and had a beef burrito. Including guacamole the price was over £9. It was so small I had it eaten in a minute and needed to buy a second one. That's a fair bit of money for a solo lunch. But, far worse than this, there was a song on the PA system that was about drugs and sex and peppered with adult language. I personally can live with that, but it bespeaks a certain attitude on the part of Boojum. This was content entirely unsuitable for children...and I have two of primary school age. It was my intention to bring them one day soon, but now I see that families are not welcome. For the reasons articulated above, it's not a surprise that Boojum is generally empty. A few years ago it was always packed. Sadly, I've decided it was healthier when we eschewed the place. And, for the second time in 3 years, I have decided we won't be going back. Thank you.

Prices went up and portion sizes went down overtime. I've been a customer for over 12 years. I was really disappointed to find out today that whatever stamps I had on my loyalty card are gone. I was told that now there is a phone app that replaced the card and I cannot transfer my stamps over... Great way to treat your loyal clientele boojum.

What a unpleasant experience at @boojummex in Belfast today. Took my family to this place to have some food, my 10yo daughter does not like so I get home 5guys for her. She sat at the table waiting for us as we order our food and one member of the staff went directly to the child telling her not to eat there. So she went outside to the bench and sat and the same person came out side and said the same thing! Instead of speaking directly to the parents he turn himself to the child, what an unpleasant experience. Won't came back ever again !

Greasy meat, rubbery tortillas, tasteless guac and watery salsa. Very poor Mexican food. Gets a lot of hype for some reason but is the worst Mexican in Belfast by a long shot.

The hygiene is awful and the staff are not friendly. I had eaten 10 boojums, 2 of which had bones in the chicken and on the 10th boojum I got food poisoning and was sick for 48 hours. Not a good time!

Cheap, cheerful, and yummy. No fine dinning here, but great comfort food that happens to be good for you.

Visited tonight to try out the new vegan option! All the staff were super pleasant and couldn’t be more accommodating. One staff member in particular, very tall fella with a black cap on, was super pleasant with great manners on the til. Chatted away to me throughout the encounter, even asked how my I was and how my evening was going. Not very often you meet fast food staff who look like they are happy to be there so this was nice to see. Food was delicious, will be back.

Boojum is a great place for Mexican style food on the go, asking for the burrito in a bowl is something that I have not done before so I tried and was happily surprised. Chili con Carne or Chicken are the best options for this with Mexican rice and then everything else you might fancy. As usual great speedy service, good quality food at a great prize

Visited one evening and looking forward to some Mexican food. Others have commented on the ever-rising prices, going away from the original ethos of good food, cheap. That said, I love the food but this visit was seriously let down by an idiot of a server. This guy has a huge, fuzzy beard, doesn't wear a beard net and, on my visit, came in from the kitchen area and loaded-up what looked like a layered tortilla with items from the serving area. This breaches food hygiene regs with the real risk of hair and 'debris' falling from this moron's obvious pride and joy. I asked him where his net was but was ignored.

Over the years I've noticed the once very high standards, that John and his wife, had set when first opening the small Boojum just up from where it is now, go slowly down. But it is going down and I think the problem is taking the business for granted and allowed sloppy standards to creep in and become acceptable.As someone mentioned before the amount of fatty pieces of chicken has gone up so now I get mouthfuls of fat ladened chicken in nearly every bite and in terms of overall flavour it's just not quite what it used to be. I could put up with this but tonight (15/11/19) I ordered a bowl and burrito with lime rice and the rice was raw. It's the first time this has ever happened but something tells me that outrageous things like this are become commonplace. Sad times indeed given how amazing this place once was.

Unos burritos buenísimos. Los puedes rellenar de muchos ingredientes. Son muy grandes y no escatiman en cantidades. Genial de precio.

Visited boojum tonight for what is most definitely the last time. The last few times I've been to various stores the food quality has been so so poor and the price is ever increasing. Today was just pretty gross in all aspects. Walked up to the counter and immediately noticed that the food area was filthy, dried in meat and sauce etc everywhere mixing in with each other. My friend had already ordered otherwise I wouldn't have bothered ordering as it was pretty off putting. The service was so unfriendly, the girl serving me honestly just looked like she was dying inside and could be less bothered looking at my face. I just can't justify that amount of money for such a poor product and service that genuinely makes me feel unwelcome. Such a pity because it was such a cool concept back in the day.

Burritos to die for. Love the burrito bowls, fajitas, everything! The mild salsa is by far the best flavour, we love to add jalapeños and the complimentary hot sauce on each table. Have never had a bad experience here.

Das Boojum hat ganz gute Burritos, aber vor allem die Guacamole hat es mir angetan. Die Preise sind angemessen, es gibt auch Rabatte für Studenten. Zum länger verteilen lädt das Restaurant nicht ein.

To put it simply, I don't get it!!! The food is fine perfectly serviceable, many had told me about the spicy rice being amazing however to me it seemed pretty bland..

Abbiamo preso 4 burrito, ognuno personalizzandolo come preferiva, e da bere tre birre e un sidro (hanno anche birre messicane!). Il tutto per 39€, prezzi onesti data l'immensità e bontà del burrito.

Estábamos buscando algo agradable y fácil después de nuestro día de explorar los jardines botánicos y el museo, así que fuimos después de nuestra visita para almorzar y, mientras estaba ocupado, nos sirvió una encantadora jovencita con cabello morado, fue muy amable y tan amable y nos dijo algunas cosas más que podríamos hacer por la ciudad. Su servicio de principio a fin fue increíble y nos sentimos muy bienvenidos y sin mencionar que la comida fue maravillosa y simplemente dio en el clavo lo suficiente como para ayudarnos a cenar. El precio también fue muy bueno. Los irlandeses son realmente encantadores. Esperemos volver antes de que termine nuestra semana o la próxima vez que volvamos a Belfast.

Over the summer, I have ordered three burrito bowls through deliveroo - three times, my order came missing guacamole, which should've been included in my Vegetarian choice option. One time it was swimming in sour cream to the point of being sickening and today the two bowls were bone dry with hardly any of the salsas at all. I know it's not the end of the world but this has happened every time! So...as much as I used to enjoy the place, it isn't consistently good or careful when preparing dishes for delivery, which is frustrating since 1) you're paying extra for the service and 2) you kinda have to suck it up at that point. So... I won't be ordering for delivery again.

Visited after a trip to the Ulster museum with the grandkids. Service was efficient but not inspiringly friendly. We all ordered burrito bowls which were really big and difficult to finish. The food was good and I liked the 80s music in the background! If you don't like plastic waste I wouldn't visit here as the food is generally served in plastic containers.

Esta fue mi segunda vez en Boojum, ya que solo viajo a Irlanda del Norte una vez al año y no siempre voy a Belfast. Asistimos a esta hora después de una gran noche en el centro de la ciudad. El personal era muy amable y la comida era deliciosa. Hay una gran selección para elegir y es muy abundante. No puedo esperar a volver.

I went here a few times on a recent Belfast trip and usually am quite happy with the food and service here. One girl (didn't get a name, with facial piercings) who was taking the initial order at the counter, tried to rush me through, slinging small amounts into the box i ordered so that after the rice, beans, peppers and onions had been put it, it wasn't even a third full. I had to ask for more peppers. It wasn't busy, just very poor service. My husband behind me felt the same. Not a nice experience and, if it had have been our first time, I'm not sure we'd be back.

Firstly, I’ve tried the food here several times; each time I find the staff ignorant and the food generally unsatisfactory. However, my disgrace is found in their recent Facebook post where they mocked Jesus, the Christian church and the meaning of Easter. Using a tongue and cheek joke which was totally offensive and disrespectful. I am disgusted to have ever supported such an establishment and will not be returning. Boojum Belfast, you should be ashamed; the people you have hurt and offended over such an act is one you cannot comprehend. You will be losing business from many customers and I hope it causes your to fail in succeeding.

Absolutely love Boojum! It’s my usual Tuesday dinner definitely think they are missing a trick though by not having a Taco Tuesday! Great wraps and tacos hard to beat impossible to beat!

We dropped in here soon after arriving in Belfast from the airport, hungry and tired. The staff were so friendly and recommended good combinations to have in the burritos. The burritos themselves were enormous and so tasty. I wish we had a Boojum where I live as I'd be a regular customer!

Estaba en Belfast con trabajo, y decidimos comer en Boojum como un almuerzo barato antes de nuestra presentación. Soy un gran fan de la comida mexicana, ¡y Boojum no me decepcionó! Había una gran cola, ya que obviamente es un lugar muy popular entre los trabajadores y estudiantes locales, pero se redujo lo suficientemente rápido. El personal era muy amable y servicial, elegí el burrito de carne que era absolutamente enorme. No nos dieron bebidas o lados, pero creo que fue muy buena relación calidad-precio en alrededor de 7. Comimos dentro y nos las arreglamos para conseguir un asiento fácilmente a pesar de que era la hora del almuerzo. Es el lugar perfecto para un almuerzo rápido, y definitivamente volvería aquí la próxima vez que esté en Belfast.
