Boojum in Belfast

Not the first time this has happened, ordered online to avoid queuing instore, only to arrive and have to wait well over half an hour to receive my order. Absolutely no structure when you arrive, no signage to tell you where to collect your order, you just have to stand awkwardly at the till until someone decides to come near you which doesn’t happen often. Complete shambles of a place. The staff are like robots, hardly any effort made to acknowledge you when you arrive or when talking to you. Finally after making eye contact with a staff member, I’m told my order is being prepped, even though the pickup time was well past now - why wouldn’t the order already be sitting ready to collect? Is that not the whole point of ordering online to avoid the wait and to beat the queue? After a long wait watching half of Belfast come in, queue up, receive their order and eat it, I head home with my food. Just when I get home I realise of course they have got one of the orders completely wrong. I mean how difficult can it be to read the order of the docket and make it? Not the first time this has happened but I thought last time I’ll give them the benefit of doubt since it was busy. That was not the case this time, it wasn’t too busy and there was well enough staff working for this to happen. Shocking customer service and experience overall, this is the last time I will eat or go anywhere near Boojum, complete shambles of a place with no structure and a serious lack of customer service and basic communication skills.

A nice place to get a burrito or taco. Lots of choice and a nice clean venue.

Food is absolutely unreal but there’s one dark haired guy who always looks so fed up and like he doesn’t want to be there when he’s working and it lets the place down. Other than that would recommend.

Food is tasty and fresh, staff very friendly and welcoming.

Missing half the order and half the toppings of the order. Cold when received. Wouldn’t pick up the phone when I tried to phone them

Terrible Customer Service Experience Date: Sunday 31 March 2024 Time: 20:35-20.45pm approximately. Branch: Boojum, Lisburn Road, Belfast. I had a terrible experience with one of the staff at Boojum , Lisburn Road, Belfast . Staff was very rude to start with and continued making things difficult when we were trying to order 3 burrito bowls takeaway. After few secs I took exception as I couldn't take any more of his behaviour and asked if i can speak to the Manager. I was initially told that the manager is on break, i told that i will wait and also asked for the complaining procedure. Offending employee further went on to use the 'F' word as well when we declined to continue with our order due to his behavior and waiting for the manager. I am sure all these are captured in your CCTV. After a few minutes one person from behind the counter came up and told that his name is Ross and he is the manager. I gave him the details of the incident and asked the complaining procedure and also asked to give the name of the employee so that i can refer it in my complaint. I was initially told that they cant give the names which was very surprising. I asked the person claiming to be manager of any proof to show that he was the actual manager as something didn't add up for me but was told that they don't have anything of this sort. If you watch your CCTV cameras for the date and time mentioned , you should get the offending employee details and his behaviour. Incidences like these in front of kids (11 year old and 8 year old) is unacceptable at this time and age. Sincerely hope some action is taken on the offending employee. I am happy to give further information about the incidence if you need.

Food is brilliant but when you order online, they fully mess up the order. There have been several instances of this happening. Once they added chicken to my order when it was strictly mentioned that it is a pure vegetarian. They never fulfill their online order and when brought up with them, the staff is fully incompetent in dealing with the issue. Step up, you’ve got good food but learn to deliver it right.

Wraps are usually never very well wrapped. Always pay for extra sour cream and cheese and never get it. Food is tasty just needs a bit more care taken when preparing it so the wraps are more evenly distributed

Place has become very unpredictable. One time you'll go in and portions, food and staff are good Other days, tbh it's quite off putting Staff can be abrupt, won't listen and at times the portions are well below what they should be an mostly because they can't be arsed getting another tub of what ever was ordered. Plus the whole point and function of collecting at a time is... To collect at a time. Not to get there and watch sometimes up to 5 people be served an not a care or acknowledgement given. Just left standing like a twt

Although the food is nice the experience is not as the staff aren’t friendly or helpful and you feel rushed when ordering.

Top notch food. There for my child so her oppinion. Mexican isn't for me but it is a quality product that they serve.

MORE MEAT ON A BUTCHERS KNIFE. The food here used to be something and now it's all just rice with essence of meat. The extra beef I paid for was clearly pocketed because that was just a pathetic amount I received. I also stood in a queue for ages while they stopped serving actual customers in the restaurant and started to serve their just eat orders. Disgraceful service and the food is now rubbish. How the mighty have fallen. I'll stick with Indian food and Chinese food.

Was nice but not as good as it used to be. Staff aren’t particularly friendly and was very expensive. Got 2 kids portions (charged per item), one bowl and 3 drinks £26! Nice vibe in the restaurant but difficult to be parked nearby.

Great quality burrito fillings but sometimes they are rolled poorly and disintegrate, unlike superior Guapo burritos

While lacking the uniqueness it once had, boojum still maintains its quality. Friendly staff and decently full burritos as well as easy access. For convenience I would pick boojum but always have a look for your local burrito shop first. Atmosphere is nice if a little cramped but location is nice.

Answer your phone!!! Especially if you're going to be 1hour late with a delivery. Making like it's deliveroos fault when your're the ones that are backed up and late to give out the food! and of course too busy to be professional enough to Answer the dam phone! Unacceptable.. cold quesedillas just great!

Ordered for Collection on a Friday after 6pm to minimise queuing in store as the place was busy enough. There is no structure to the collection system apart from to walk in and stand at the till until one of the staff acknowledges your presence which on top of, staff were a bit cheeky. The burrito bowl was not great at all considering the order was over £15, was 90% rice, barely any meat and no extras added which were paid for and not received. Won’t be back 👍

Never really have a bad thing to say about boojum, always had good service, I don’t often sit in so can’t speak much to the atmosphere. My one criticism would be that I wish the meat where seasoned a bit more. I like the meat don’t get me wrong but I feel they could be better. Apart from that I love the place and I will always be back for more. It’s a staple of Belfast.

They are the loveliest and most courteous staff I've had the pleasure of having. Each one is irreplaceable.

Can’t praise this place enough, I called in with my husband who is in a wheelchair, all the tables wee fine for me, but too high for him. I asked about disabled seating and right away a staff member told me “ we have a small table in the staff room, I’ll bring it out for you, it’s no trouble at all”in a few minutes a staff member had the table placed in a good location with a chair for me and a space for the wheelchair. I was very impressed with their problem solving skills and their enthusiasm in making us feel welcome and included. The food was great and we enjoyed our lunch immensely, we will definitely be back. The food was five star, but the service and welcome we received was over and above what we expected. A huge thank you to the staff for making us so welcome and going the extra mile for us..

This restaurant has a fantastic loyalty card deal - after 10 meals, you get one free. For only 6.50 pounds, I enjoyed a delicious meal of Maxine rice and vegetables with sour cream, cheese, and medium salsa. While the music was too loud and gave me a headache, the staff were friendly. I look forward to going back!

There is far less filling in the burritos than there used to be and to hide that fact staff don't roll the burrito as tight but are also incredibly stingy with the amount of foil they use was just means everything falls apart and because it's not as tightly wrapped the cheese doesn't have the same contact with the hot meat and melt as much as it used to. Also staff can barely look at you as they are too busy talking amongst themselves

It used to be my favourite Mexican food joint. But I was surprised at the changes they made recently. May be it is the inflation. Very frugal amounts of meat, salads. It is all rice in a burrito bowl. Prices have gone up too. Overall no longer a value .

Ordered chilli con carne tacos...literally not one piece of meat in it. Click and wasn't ready when I got there but was somehow the food was still cold (including a buritto bowl). I know the restaurant was very busy this evening but I was so disappointed

This place really isn't what it used to be...the food is twice the price and burritos now half the size they used to be. Embarrassing that they now portion the cheese out with a serving spoon...been going for the best part of 12 years now, won't be back again.

Tasty food, good variety of food, spicy to your taste. Huge portions. Service efficient. Atmosphere ok, very industrial décor.

I was in on march 29th. Food was good, service was a bit slow, I'd ordered click and collect but they ran out of an item but had assured me it wouldn't be long. It took longer than expected. I'm assuming the chef was assisting the servers as things were slow and also tended to me. Despite it being late he was very polite whilst running back and forth between the kitchen and the front. The staff worked on well and the energy from all was infectious. I left feeling pumped despite someone lifting my order by mistake 😂

Definitely not the standard it used to be. Rice was hard. Portion size was ridiculously small. Had to ask 3 times for more sour cream. Not the best tenner I've spent on lunch. Pity there is no alternative burrito on lisburn Road.

The waiting times are utterly ridiculous for this place. You’ll wait up to 45 minutes to order a burrito… and the reason for this is clear: online orders take priority. Customers are standing watching employees make order after order for delivery or collection. Ridiculous. I’ll not be back.

It's Boojum, it's a bit expensive for what it is but we like it!!!

Service was very slow and music was too loud so ordering was difficult. Took 45 mins to get served. When I did, the burrito was warm at best due to the snails pace of the staff

The food is fantastic, the dine in setup is ridiculous however, the queue time from the door to the counter is about 45 minutes due to the counter staff having to do online orders inbetween serving the customers in the store, they should do this separately. Even when ordering online the order is never correct which puts me off doing this also, still giving it 5* regardless due to how great the food is, I really hope they sort these issues out and bring back the good days. If I see a queue at the door the next time I go near the place, im just going to go somewhere else

The staff at boojum are experts when it comes to the art of compressing ridiculous amounts of food into a tiny delicious food brick.

Forgot our online order. Didn't start to make until 20 minutes after lieing the order was being made but by then chicken had ran out so order couldn't be made. Left with nothing.

I can’t understand why this place gets 4.5 stars. The waiting time is ridiculous for people who wish to walk in and dine in and eat. Just eat and deliveroo orders get priority over the people who are actually standing their waiting to order! You get treated better if you’re feeling lazy at home and order on just eat instead of going to the shop unbelievably poor management and it’s not even as good as it used to be anyway. Just expensive slop! Do not recommend!

Not worth it. The price you pay for such stingey portions and to feel hungry even though you've ate every crumb. Other establishments who offer deals and get wayyy more meat is worth it. Will not be back unless they actually serve decent portions

Transaction 880,729 15/09/22 5:35pm . Collected at 5.35pm all in bag ready to go. When we got home 5mins later 1xBurrito and 1xfajitas were barely warm. Burrito salad with beans was only filled just above 1/2 way of plastic bowl and Both beans mix was cold. Really disappointed could not return it as we had to be somewhere quickly, being our reason for takeaway after work. No way worth £24.47

Food is what you'd expect from the like of Boojum, it was tasty enough and the staff were friendly enough.

Best burrito food in all Ireland

My usual order has hiked in price by about £3 (burrito alone, no drinks or sides). Arbitrary price increase which can’t be justified by increase costs. And staff have clearly been told to reduce the amount of meat. To make matters worse, the girl forgot the salsa, the burrito was dripping with water and completely fell apart.

This is the nicest boojum in Belfast. In my opinion... As it doesn't have music blasting at top volume! The food is lovely as ever. Just be careful about going at peak times like dinner time after 5pm. The rice isn't always as cooked as I would like.

Best burritos hands down. Would say they have recently become a little light on the toppings for the price, but the food is always great so still worth it. Maybe just depend who's on Would thoroughly recommend

This is so shame that this place is exactly like before, racist...I been this restaurant tonight while serving I feel that I am not welcome there she was serving me like she was giving me a favour. She was making her weird face. Next costumer after me she was serving with smile. I talked to the guy on till but he didn't bother at all to listen me . I feel so insult when I saw all the serving staff was laughing eachother on my back. I talked to manager and she told me because they busy so it happens, Really. That's proved that brown skin not welcome. This happened with me before as well at Lisburn Road. I visit boojum from last 8 years,regularly Chichester Street their staff was so friendly and always served with smile but unfortunately that shop is closed now. I know you don't care but I am not ever visit any boojum. I am not asking anything free, I pay for my food

Amazing Burritos. Hot, fresh and super tasty. Always come here when visiting from England. Great selection to choose from, plenty of options and quick service. Couldn't ask for more.

Today I collected a burrito, rice was uncooked, and the guacamole was brown. I have to go back and ask for a new one. It didn't test as good as usual. I will suggest keeping an eye on the team. This should not happen.

This place is a bit of a sad shell of what it was. Slower service, smaller portions, marked up prices. You lost your soul Boojum.
