Bon Appetite in North Lanarkshire

Ordered a takeaway from here as my usual Chinese Takeaway is closed on a Tuesday. The Chicken Balls where burnt, the Curry Sauce was the consistency of water, the sweet and sour was tasteless and the spring rolls are the worst I've tasted, and it was about £6 dearer than my usual Chinese Takeaway. I shall never order from here again & I certainly will not be setting foot in the restaurant . Totally Disgusted!!!!!

We travelled from Livingston to try this chinese after seeing posts on Facebook. The food was really good, quick service for a Friday evening and the staff were incredibly polite. I ordered a Salt and Chilli combo box and Salt and Chilli Jalapeño cheese bites. I would recommend, the portion sizes were good.

Having placed an order online, I was advised it would be ready for collection in 45 minutes time. I proceeded to the restaurant after 50 mins and phoned from outside to see if my order was ready. The idiot that answered the phone couldn't find my order and said there was nothing with my surname ordered, despite having received an email confirmation. Eventually having fafed about for a few minutes, she informed me it was next in queue to be made up and asked me to wait in my car and I would receive telephone call when ready. We were going out within 20 minutes, so had no alternative but to cancel order and request a refund. This place has gone down hill drastically and this wasn't the first time this has happened. I have been a regular customer here for years and won't be back and would advise others to avoid at all costs.

Hi,I would like to leave a review on the boneless munchie box my partner purchased on the way home from work. Heard so many good reviews on it. After him coming, opened the box and the grease was leaking through it and ruined a good pair of Nike joggies which was annoying, bag was dripping in grease. Started eating the chicken and was off to a good started but the more chicken I ate the worse it got. It felt like rubber and can tell it being boiled. The curry sauce was like water and was very salty. I was so disappointed in it as I was really looking forward to it. The only enjoyable was the rice on its own. I would pay the money for your asking for it. To eat a box of rubber I won’t be back and won’t be recommending this dish to anyone. Waste of money.

Lovely food and great atmosphere ... even after all these years of opening , the standards are still high . Home delivery driver is fantastic

Overall it was good grub. 2 Adults, 2 Kids (9 & 3). Something for everyone. Cocktail menu is one of the best around and rivals most places in town.Staff were welcoming and always around if you needed something.Kids had desserts (chocolate cake) which looked fresh and I am told, since there was none left for me to try, was brilliant. The ribs, prawn toast and mussels were my favourite.Slight downside was that the chicken balls and honey wings had went crispy and were a bit hard to bite in to, otherwise it would have been 5*.Great value for money, think we were £48.00 for Two Adults and Two kids with 3 desserts and drinks.Would definitely recommend if you are about the Coatbridge area, even for a quick munch and pre-drinks.

My boyfriend and I recently moved to Coatbridge and when asking around for the best chinese restaurants/takeaways in the area we were recommended Bon Appetite. We’ve had a few dishes from there over the past few month - all of which have been superb. We were absolutely delighted when we won ‘The Ultimate Munchie Box’ competition and were definitely not disappointed with what was inside. Everything was incredible with lots of options. We will definitely be ordering again!

Popped in one Wednesday evening, I’m not a local but read some half decent so decided to try it out , not the easiest place to find but worth tracking down if you can Really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the buffet ,the standard options for a Chinese buffet but the big difference was the quality of the ingredients and the obvious desire by the kitchen staff to make mouth watering food Special thanks to the owners son and his front of house team , attentive throughout our stay , engaging and a credit to Bon Appetit , had a long chat with the owners son and you could tell how much he loves what he’s doing Will I be back ?Too right

Good was really nice and fresh, just unfortunate about the young rude female staff member who was cheeky when at the bar and took 25 mins to brink a drink over. Apart from that really reasonably priced.

Great we Chinese staff very friendly , there buffet is fresh food only given fall is you have to ask for your desserts you cant just help your self

Visited for buffet dinner. Good selection of meals. My husband said he had been to better buffet restaurants but for something local it is great. Only disappointment is that my 6 year old son was charged the same price as an adult for the buffet. Other places are cheaper for kids and especially when the waiter offered a smaller bowl if soup for his starter! Would still return as food is good.

Visited this restaurant twice in one week & can’t wait to go back. Food was fantastic, plenty of choice & so fresh.We got 5 soft drinks, 2 buffet & 2 desserts for £36.80 which I thought was brilliant. Staff very friendly & attentive, plenty of parking outside. Thank you, I will definitely be back.

Pity they are not on Just Eat as my daughter uses that all the time and Ribs just are not the same from elsewhere. Tip - make sure you get some Prawn Crackers as you are gonna want to scoop up all that lovely sauce Enjoy

What a fantastic Chinese this is. Not easy to find but a worthy find. Good quality food and great variety of dishes in the buffet. Probably the best Chinese buffet in terms of quality over quantity. Good price and a very nice place.will return

On arrival had a look at the Menu in the window. The menu said £10.90 for adults & £5.50 for children for the Buffet. After paying the bill I thought it was expensive for what we got so I Queried the bill to be told the prices had increased? By £2 a head. I explained it doesn’t say that in the window to which I was told they hadn’t got round to changing it. I asked when the prices went up and he said two months ago. He then said the prices were on the menu on Facebook and on his website? We were never offered a menu because we were getting a buffet and I have never been on his Facebook or his website so how would I know his prices had gone up?? I believe that this is false advertising encouraging people to go in for a low price and then being charged Dearer. I have threatened him that I am going to report him to trading standard’s as I believe what he’s doing is against the law

This is the 1st time I’ve been here for lunch and I was not disappointed a lovely lunch at an amazing price , lovely chilled out atmosphere and the waitress was lovely would recommend here for delicious food xxx

Been here for lunch with my daughters for Mother’s Day and the food was lovely , no complaints at all but we decided to come today for a takeaway. It was mobbed too. Expected the curry to taste the same as when we had lunch in the restaurant but no... chicken not good,squidgy. curry sauce bland , rice over cooked. Husband said the chow mien was the worst he’s ever tasted .. waste of £30. I will certainly not be back. Very disappointed

Lovely atmosphere in this relaxed family run business. Always a warm, attentive welcome with very considerate, well trained staff. Buffet offers a well stocked variety of starters and mains which are regularly topped up to keep food hot and fresh. Staff willing to provide for any particular tastes. You can also choose from extensive Chinese and European menu if you don't want buffet. A lovely relaxed meal with a high quality of foods for sensible prices. Disgusted to here of recent vandalism at this very welcoming and quality venue.

Decided to try here after hearing so much about it. WOW! What can we say! Absolutely superb! Restaurant not massive however clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. Went for buffet £12.90pp. they make a prawn cocktail fresh and serve soup fresh as well! Prawn crackers brought to table too! Now wait till you taste the food! Starters ranged from spring rolls to ribs to satay to spring rolls to chicken toasts and more with the salt n chilli flavor being the best we have ever tried. Then main courses were curry to satay to blackbean to sweet and sour to chicken balls to king prawn and more. And rice and noodles and chips. The salt and chilli chips were superb! Everything was full of flavor and not bland. Also sauces were thick and not watery like some Chinese buffets. Desert you could pick off menu board so chocolate fudge cake to ice scream to jelly and more. I had passion fruit sorbet and was delicious and hubby had mint vienetta. We will definitely be back and that's includes driving through from Cumbernauld for take away as that good! Salt N Chilli kings and quality over quantity definitely! We will be back and highly recommend this place

I visited today and had the buffet lunch. The variety of food was great. Slightly different from other chinese buffet restaurants as soups, prawn cocktail and derserts are served direct from the kitchen to your table. There is not a European section except for chips when I was in but that does not really bother me. Food was tasty and replenished quickly if required. Not a large restaurant and so I was surprised by the choice of set lunch or buffet.

have just been into bon appetite to order a carry out meal .we wanted two munchy boxes at 16.00 each with extras .we were told that they were not making munchy boxes as they had to use what was left of the buffet .we left and they were down 40.00 on sales .not good enough bon appetite if it is on your take away menu you should be able to order it not have to take what you have left on your buffet

1st time here and won't be our last. Went for the buffet. Food was very hot, fresh and regularly replenished. Good variety of dishes to choose from. Great value at £9.50. Staff were efficient and friendly. Lots of free parking right outside too. Only minor points. The floor felt a bit slippy under foot and £2 for a can of soft drinks is a bit steep. Otherwise, well worth a visit.

If you are a salt fiend this is the place to come if like myself and don't take any salt forget this place EVERYTHING is very very very salty took 20 minutes for starter to arrive this was also very salty was told our soft drinks couldn't come in a pint glass as they didn't have enough we counted 14 people in restaurant and less than half were drinking from pint glasses poor night out

This place offers very good cuisine and very good service and takeaway meals. It can be a bit smelly at times due to the nature of the fat frying but it still comes out favourable as a Chinese restaurant

We haven’t been here for a few years since moving out from the area but thought we’d try it again. Ordered a sweet and sour chicken with boiled rice last weekend. Looks gorgeous when opened the container but once tasted, it’s spicy!!! Very disappointed as we can’t take any heat. Don’t understand how this can happen at all. Guess the cook had it mixed up with Kung Po sauce or something...

Had a very nice lunch in here today with some workmates. Starter was a little greasy but was still tasty, main portion was huge, very fresh and tasty also. Large bowl of free prawn crackers and a drink cost us £9 each!! service was good and restaurant had been updated a little since my last visit. Clean as well. I’d definitely return

Lovely food and fantastic service for the price we paid. The staff are very welcoming we opted for the buffet. We were offered a soup or prawn cocktail to be brought to us before we had a look at the buffet. The smoked chilli chicken was amazing infact all of the food was and very tasty. Your desserts are also served to you which was a nice touch. The cocktail menu looks amazing I will have to visit again without my car so I can try some of them. Would recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Wwent with a pal for the buffet and most of it was good. the chili ribs are stunning. avoid the garlic mushrooms though as the batter is not good. the rest of the food is above average and v good for buffet.

This is our go to restaurant. Very friendly staff. The buffet is replenished often. If there is anything not at the buffet ,it will be brought to yr table. The fillet steak is to die for.Prjces reasonable. They also do takeaway

As always the welcome and attention we received was truly exceptional as was the food the best Chinese and Cantonese food in Coatbridge without doubt and tremendously good value too.

On walking into the restaurant wasn’t that busy ? It still took a few minutes for someone to seat us. Had to dodge a bucket in the middle of the floor as there was a water leak. Ordered the buffet. Was asked if we wanted soup? Ordered chicken noodle soup, it was swimming in salt? I like salt but not that much. Onto the buffet? The chicken satay skewers were dried up & hard, The chicken balls were brick hard & the batter was the same. The chicken is processed crap, the cheapest of the cheap. The chicken curry? Same again processed chicken & the sauce was awful. Was told we could only have 1 sweet each? A buffet means as much as you can eat but not here. For £12.50 a head I expected so much more. The Chinese girl who walked around doing not much didn’t look as if she wanted to be there, if she smiled she would crack her face. Had a look in the kitchen when the door was left open & it didn’t look very clean. Won’t be back. There’s better out there for the same price. Wouldn’t recommend

Food is ok. But the price is far too high for what's on offer. For £9.50 there are other buffet restaurants where starters and desserts are unlimited. Here you only get 1 of each.

Went in with My Girlfriend, Place has terrible customer service asked for a ice water was given a glass which wasnt even clean. The food was terrible overall terrible experiance

My Husband and I have eaten here before but today took our Son and Daughter for their first buffet here and they thoroughly enjoyed it. We've had takeaway before but the kids have never sat in for a meal as they're quite fussy eaters especially our Son. He tried spare ribs for the first time a few weeks ago and really liked them so we thought trying a buffet would let him have what he knows he likes ( chips, prawn crackers and ribs with the sauce) but would also give him a chance to try a few other things if he wanted but he stuck to what he knew with the exception of one little bit of the shredded smoked chicken which he thought was ok but one bit was enough. Our daughter tried a few things although her favourites were chicken curry, rice and noodles. My Husband and I had the chicken noodle soup to start which was fantastic- I would have been happy with a few bowls of that lol! There was a good variety of choice on the buffet and we tried quite a few things- the sweet n sour chicken and chicken in chilli and salt were really good. Prices are reasonable and the staff are really nice. We will definitely go back again.

Went for buffet due to previous visit being really enjoyable however this time it was poor. Very limited choice for a buffet charging £9.50 on a Monday evening, no wonder it was quiet!. One of the waitresses looked utterly miserable to the point you felt...

This place is my 2nd best curry shop , it does a buffet deal , reasonably priced and tastes great , allows you to try a bit of everything , buffet opens at 5pm midweek so try and get there as close to 5pm as possible as all the foods fresh just out the wok !

Entramos sin reserva, la mayoría de las mesas ocupadas y camareros muy concurrido. El camarero se disculpó y nos aconsejaron que limpiar la mesa tan pronto como nos llevamos a nuestro asiento y el menú almuerzo fue bastante amplia a un precio muy razonable. Las entradas llegaron y todos estaban sorprendidos y contentos de que la porción era lo que sería de esperar como entrante en la cena a la carta, menú a la red llegaron y estaban tan agradable como los entrantes. 3 comidas con vino o refrescos menos de 30 libras. 00. Personal agradable educado, buena comida, luminoso y ventilado.

Went here on a Saturday night with family. As there was no tables we went to nearest pub and the restaurant phoned when table was ready. Great touch. Food was good , the only thing was they did not have any Dry Martini and they did not try to get some. Asda two mins away and it was just after 8 , so we lft right after meal.

Frequent visitor at bon appetite the food is absolutely fantastic buffet or menu which ever is on offer. Really great choice in the buffet selection my favourite dish is the beef curry or the satay. Cocktails are brilliant really well made & Good drinks selection. My favourite is strawberry daiquiri.I adore this place but its definitely not a fancy restaurant the decor isn't great. it does look a little like a portacabin inside & out but i think it actually adds to it's character. Staff on the other hand are absolutely wonderful & really make this restaurant such a great family atmosphere & make you feel so welcome. Owners always come over to say hello & ask how you enjoyed your meal. I always go for the karaoke nights to which are brilliant. And the Halloween karaoke nights are great laugh staff & customers get dressed up. Really good entertainment for an evening out.

We actually used to go to this Chinese a long time ago but stopped going when they didn't do the buffets . It was delicious then and still as good now . Happy to say we will yet again be regulars . You get good value for money fresh delicious food . Lovely attentive staff . All clean and comfy . Ok maybe it needs a we makeover even give it more oriental theme . But this is the by far the best Chinese restaurant we've been to in a. Long time . The restaurant was getting more busy by time we left . We overheard couple customers come in for take away and asked for their usual . Think that itself speaks volumes

Went for the buffet and although not the biggest selection they kept the food coming and as soon as we were taking it from the buffet they were topping up with freshly cooked food and it was really good value for money and quite cheap especially for the kids to eat

Came here expecting it to be poor as it didn't look up to much on the outside. Upon entering you could tell that everything is done on the cheap and it is looking rather dated. Food was spot on however and everything was properly cooked.

We decide to try here for the first time last Saturday, even though its not the best chinese buffet we have had, we still liked the meal.We went for the buffet, theres not a large range of food but the food was nice all the same.There was a Halloween theme night on, with a karaoke on as well, which we found it strange for a restaurant but we must admit it was quite entertaining & it created a happy lively atmosphere. The deserts & cocktails look good as well.The staff were friendly & happy help to your needs.A enjoyable meal.

Came here today for lunch - It was fantastic ! 7 of us and everyone enjoyed their meals . 3 course lunch for £7.50 and big portions . Will definitely return

Just had delivery from here and as much as the food is lovely it turns up cold!! That was the second time I have ordered the same thing hoping first time was just a wee one off but nope arrived cold..... use are letting us customers down as now I am not gone too order a delivery due too food having no heat in it hope use can fix the problem as ure food is lovely.

I have not been to this place for a while and my friend and I enjoyed the buffet meal which we both enjoyed.There is plenty places to park the cars and is not on the main street.the food is very good value and plenty of it to eat. desserts are great

Really enjoy this restaurant..my only gripe is the chicken noodle soup could be better.the starter of smoked chicken is delicously different and so tasty.have loved everything I have eaten here and the desserts are lovely.

I went recently to the bon appetite on sunday and was pleasantly surprised with the food which was excellent the mannerism of the staff was first class and the overall review was fabulous and I will be returning

We've been coming to Bon Appetite for around 20 years so i thought a review was well overdue.. This place is a hidden gem. We visit regularly and altho the food is excellent, its the friendly warm inviting nature of the owner and staff that keep us returning. Kari and Karmen are wonderful. Always make you feel welcome. Being facebook friends with Karmen, she always asks after our children, asks about your day or is aware if there is a birthday or anniversary being celebrated and i think that just makes it all the more special. The staff are fantastic. The food is excellent.I cant say enough pleasantries about Bon Appetite in Coatbridge and i would recommend it to anyone.

This is an excellent little Chinese restaurant and take away, the food is excellent the staff are so friendly and will go out there way to help you with anything you require even if its not on the menu. You couldn't get better food or staff anywhere the prices are within everybody's budget, it could be the main menu or the buffet, even the curry karaoke with cocktails night, if you are in the area give it a try and I can honestly say you will not be disappointed you will go back for more,

Took the kids here after swimming & thought it was brilliant. Staff were sooo friendly & very helpful ! Food was so fresh & tasted amazing . Definitely be back & would recommend to friends and family !! Super on price to !! Couldn't believe it when we got the bill amazing prices x

I recently lost someone close to me and a few of us went to Bon Appetite the staff could not of been more helpful and caring. The curry karaoke night feels like a family party night would highly recommend. Lunch time menu is so tasty too. Karmen the lady who is front of house is so friendly and always helps to recommend a new dish to try. All the staff are so friendly would recommend for a couple a family or even if you are by yourself the food is always delicious

The fried rice is never greasy always delicious and fluffy! The take away from here is always prompt aswell.Very reasonably priced.Would recommend the beef curry, the chicken satay is the best I've ever tasted. The spare ribs are also delicious and always very meaty!

I enjoy the bon appetite every time I go ...Carmen is a great girl and so friendly she always remembers what you drink and the rest of the staff as well ..if there is something not in buffet you only have to ask and they will get it for you with a smile overall great service ...

Really poor service, food and atmosphere. We had to wait until they got a table ready. Even though more than half the restaurant was empty. Buffet choices that were limited and tasteless. Not returning because it was not worth the effort.

Myself and my family dine in this restaurant on a very regular basis and can easily say its the best chinese that money can buy ! Its just a bonus that its so cheap ! Staff are very friendly and efficient and never once have i had a bad meal ! The cocktails are to die for and the homemade cheescake is a must have as well ! Great family business and i would never go elsewhere ! I simply cannot fault this place one bit !

The restaurant is centrally located and easily assessable for all , on our family night out we were well attended by the very helpful and professional staff, their knowledge of the menu and drinks list were delivered efficiently. The food from the menu was of a very good standard with good sized portions which reflected in the value for money bill that I received at the end of our night.The atmosphere that was generated was very customer focused and friendly.A very pleasant and enjoyable experience was had by all.

Starters where ok buffet its self was very limited and stale lookingbut there wasnt many diners in .I ate half off what I put on my plate then started to feel ill so asked for bill the waitress did say desserts where including so as I didnt really enjoy me meal I ordered and I was glad I did as dessert popcorn sundade was delicious. Maybe been just been unlucky as not enough customers to have fresh selection, but im not going back to re check as me and my partner dont feel very well

I was last in this restaurant about twelve years ago and the food was good then. From the outside it looks like a large portacabin. Unlike many restaurants nowadays it had proper tablecloths which is always a good sign I my opinion. There was a choice of buffet or menu. We decided to try the buffet. My partner had the sweet corn and chicken soup which he loved. The starters were terrific with great choices. The mains were equally good. When the bill came we were astonished, for all of this plus a bottle of beer and a glass of wine, it was £26!!!We eat out a lot and this little Chinese restaurant is up there with the best. Great staff who were efficient and professional.

Not many people know of the restaurant as its hidden away but would recommend to anyone! Used to go monthly as the food was just to die for!

Never turn away business at 7.30 on a sat night! after unsuccessfully trying to call for 50 mins. There was only 3 in queue and then stand in line for another 15 mins I had to arrogantly ask to speak to someone to be told they were too busy for a shredded beef meal...

i didn't eat in the restaurant. My comment is about take away only. I WOULD GIVE A -5 IF I COULD.One item arrived and was over cooked and sauce was tasteless and not to the previous standard.2nd dish was delivered, i ordered prawns and got chicken. As a non meat or poultry eater for 37 years I didn't order chicken as restaurant claimed. I got a replacement which was full or red dye, poisioned with salt, so much so that 40 minutes later my mouth is still burning.This is an amateur chef, perhaps a cheap way of keeping the place going on a quiet night.THE CHEF IS THE CORNER PIN OF YOUR RESTAURANT! WE WONT BE ORDERING AGAIN. We have ordered from here many times over many years. this is not the usual chef

There is always a big variety of food to choose form. We were able to choose several starters and have a mixture of main meals. There is always egg fried rice, noodles and chips available, as a bonus you can find special egg fried rice and spicy noodles to go with your mains. There are dishes with chicken, beef, pork and see food available on the buffet. However there is also a spectate menu available if that's what you would prefer. This restaurant also does a deal where you get: - soup (choices available) or prawn cocktail. - buffet - dessert (choices available)All in the price of the buffet. All food is always tasty and fresh. I can only highly recommend this place.

Great Food, Great Place & Great Staff...Do not be confused by an earlier review that was posted in error...Love this place.

I'm not one to expect too much from a buffet style Chinese and understand that it's low cost, fast food.... However my boyfriend and I recently had a week night last minute buffet style meal here and it was so bad. All the food had clearly been lying out for hours and reheated. Everything was laden with spice. Extremely greasy. No boiled rice available at all, greasy fried rice or chips or nothing at all. We ate next to nothing, left after 10 minutes and really grudged the £32 bill. Your money would be better spent just about anywhere else. Really went downhill- wouldn't go back

I went with a group of friends at the beginning of the month.The food was quite good, plenty of choices between starters and Mains. I would highly recommend the coconut ice for desert, very good. The cocktails are truly amazing, quite strong but the portion size is brilliant and very cheap compared to prices and sizes in the city centre. Only criticism would be that the staff can take a while in getting drinks out. Bar that, its all good.Will definitely be back, especially for the karaoke :)

Since being regular visitors under the previous owners we decided to re visit.The buffet on one side was poorly stocked and going by the state of the sauces , it had been lying for some while.The main dishes did not lookmuch better and the only stir they seemed to get, was when guests on one of the other 2 tables in visited the buffetWhen visitìng the sweets were meeted by a couple of flies flying over the unprotected food.A poor dining ecperience fromwht used to be a fine restauranyWe will not be returning

I love the fact this is open when other places are not. The food is excellent and the choice is really good. You can choose from the menu or select from the buffet. Lunch is great as it can be quiet and its fast with the buffet on. The prices are also reasonable and the food is very filling.

Visited today for lunch, Best I've had in a long time, Food was fresh and appetising , Staff were friendly and helpful, Price was great value for money.Can't wait to return............loved it x

This is a great place to eat. The staff are friendly, although prices are not the cheapest the food is worth the money charged, quality and taste are great. Fillet steak Cantonese style was excellent. Definitely eat here again and happily recommend to others.

Visited this Chinese last night, buffet was well laid out with a reasonable choice. Staff where attentive and if a item was not on the buffet offered to have it made.

We've been regulars of Bon appetit for a few years. Love the staff especially the manager who makes so much effort with all of her customers.The curry sauce is delicious and the fresh chicken breast tastes awesome. There's even cocktails on the menu which look and taste amazing!Not sure where we would dine if this wee gem wasn't there.

We eat here quite regularly, the staff are so friendly and very attentive, they always make a point of having a chat with us and make a fuss of the wee fella, try it out, you won't be disappointed

Found this restaurant to be lacking in character. Food was average. Didn't find the staff very friendly. Would not dine here again.

Have been on numerous occasions for the set lunch menu food is always of high quality and plentiful for what you are paying staff are very attentive decor makes it feel a bit cold and unwelcoming but that is my only downside will definitely keep returning

This is the benchmark for restaurants.Brilliant staff Super meals buffet and set course and excellent value for money.You are always welcome here.They really value there customers.Lively decor and good lighting.

Went twice last week going tonight again its the best Chinese buffet I've been to plenty to choose from food was fresh and hot and the Knickerbocker Glory's r to die for included in your buffet price as well as the hot and sour soup its delicious staff make u very welcome my favourite restaurant so far great value for money and quality of food brilliant
