Bodega Rita's in Islington

Fast service and sandwich was nice. Portion size was good and I liked the filling once I got passed the large amount of bread. However, I would say it's extremely overpriced so I wouldn't come here regularly, if at all. It's good, but the bottom line is that it's a ripoff for the price, none of the products should be over £6.50 max and I paid almost double that for my sandwich.

Unreal sandwiches - However upon my last two visits with friends from work - we both ended up with food poisoning, shortly after eating here.

It's expensive for what it is. And the banh mi is just a standard baguette (not actually banh mi)

I had the fried chicken roll here which was excellent. Generous portion of chicken that was fresh and the batter had the right balance of crunch and chewiness. Very impressed! Quick service and nice vibe inside. Quite small but some outdoor seating which is nice in the sun. Due to the price (10.50) I wont be a regular, but lovely for a treat! If prices were slightly lower it would be 5 stars from me.

I love a bodega sandwich, and this was a lovely (slightly fancied up) bodega sandwich. Coffee was decent, space is small but airy and stocks a limited selection of pretty standard hipster provisions. But the chances are you’re going to stop by for a sandwich, and it’s well worth it. Had The Second City, and I thought it was a pretty perfect butty: well constructed, a good balance of flavours with a bit of spice, sweet, sour and comforting warm beef. The bread was exactly right for this type of sandwich, and offered good flavour itself. The whole thing wasn’t overfilled but neither was it stingy, and it held together from first bite to last.

Lunch doesn’t have to be a boring, sad affair which is where the Bodega comes to the rescue. Freshly prepared subs, tacos and as of recently quesadillas as well as soft drinks galore. And if you’re lucky, you can get your hands on their infamous chicken roll!!

Good little work lunch spot! Quick service with some great homemade bits I definitely need to grab. Quite underfilled (£8.50) oyster mushroom banh mi style sando that was heavy on bread and lacked any real umph. Could definitely work on the sandwich but all other amenities are present.

Waited 30 mins for a sandwich that tasted worst than pret. Would say overpriced and underdelivered . Not for me

Tasty sandwich, I liked it, maybe it could be assembled better but it wasn't falling apart and that's the most important part.

My favorite quick sandwich lunch place. Rita likes to enjoy life so watch out for irregular opening hours.

The menu is incredibly promising with a lot of variety of flavours. Unfortunately the awful value for money and sandwich construction let it down. I've been twice and the first time I had The Tony. An interesting Italian inspired sandwich that was let down ultimately by the confusing combination of pesto, smoked cheese and pickled vegetables. By the time I finished it I'd wished the pickled veg was excluded. The second time I had The Gonzo. I think this sandwich is a lot more complete and the flavours all compliment each other well. Unfortunately the way the filling was spaced out meant that large parts of it were just a bland combination of lettuce and coriander devoid of all the other ingredients which were bunched up together somewhere else in the sandwich. Despite all of this I am still tempted to go back and try The Second City or Le Merguez even if it does bankrupt me.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches, one of the best vegan sandwiches I have tasted. Customer service was great too.

This place is great. The sandwiches are huge. The bread to filling ratio is bang on. They change the menu up regularly and the new sandwiches always offer something different. I’ve dragged half my office here at some point and convinced even the most hardened cynic that £8.50 is worth it for a 11/10 sandwich.

I didn’t have big expectations as it was just a sandwich shop, although I had heard very good things from my friend Rohan. The Shop is small and doesn’t look like much, tucked away. The two ladys that served me were very nice, explained the menu really well. Eventually decided on the Highway Dan, which is essentially an egg mayo on sourdough. But I tell you something, it’s the best egg mayo you will ever have. The complexity of flavour and textures, the sandwich was so so messy, I definitely did damage to their tissue box. The bread was outstanding, I still salivate at the thought of it. Offered me two types of hot sauce that worked really well too. Definitely will come back

Had a sandwich with mushroom and (my fault I didn't read in detail the menu) peanut butter. Bad mix of ingredients, cloying. Pricy junk food using what felt like low quality ingredients.

I found a hair in my sandwich and instead of the staff being mortified as you would expect she offered to make another one but otherwise said there was nothing she could do. Hint for the future: offer to give the customer back their money! Won't be coming back here!!

Best sandwiches ever. Difficult to eat tho. Hope to get a plate and cutlery next time. Won’t be long x

Cozy little place that you will be impressed with the things they offer. Main thing the sandwiches which are very good! Tony sandwich was my favourite ,vegeterian and vegan options too! Friendly staff Good vfm I would def go back

A completely banging sandwich shop with *epic* sandwiches stuffed full of inventive topics and made fresh to order. They use Dusty Knuckle sourdough which is spongy and delicious artisanal bread. Excellent value, filling, tasty AF. Highly recommended little gem of a spot.

I arrived a little late for breakfast but the girls in the shop were super nice and still made a fantastic breakfast sandwich! Would highly recommend for a quick delicious bite around kings cross!

Great vibe, fab food, friendly staff

I had the big Banh Mi which I didn’t even realise was vegan, just thought it was some lovely veges. Either way was super tasty lots of mushrooms, peanut butter, carrots and the bread was nicely soft. Good quick pit stop, nice staff. Def recommend it if you’re in the area as other places get rammed as are easier to find.

I tried the Tony sandwich which was very tasty, especially with pickles and pesto that gave it a nice kick. Very happy with the food and service.

Tasty food and fast service. Good for brunch. Portion size was slightly inconsistent but otherwise great.

The sandwiches are served cold, I did not realize that. I had the chicken one called the Sanguerita (or something like that). It’s quite messy to eat and the flavour is alright though there’s more emphasis on the fillings rather than the meat. The taste of the sandwich is decent for it being cold but i don’t think it’s worth the £8.50 price tag. Wouldn’t say the place is remarkable which is sad cause I did want to like it based on the other's reviews.

BEST-SANDWICH-EVER. I had every intention to post a picture of my King Banh Mi but it looked (and tasted) so good I could only manage to stop when I was halfway through. Great, fun (a bit hidden) gem.

I've been going to Rita's in its many forms for half a decade. I love how casual and food first the latest incarnation is. Great staple sandwiches and one of the few places for natural wines in the area

Flavours on all sorts of point. Cutest snacks and treats that are equally on point. Loved it! And will definitely be back for more.

We had the baba sandwich and it was excellent. We visited the restaurant at the end of the day and they had sold out of many of their sandwiches.... Which just goes to show how good they are! It's a great place to grab a sandwich especially in summer as a lost of their seating is outdoors.

This is a wonderful, cosy little shop. They have delicious sandwiches packed with flavour! I've tried 3 of them and they were all excellent. My only criticism was that the hot chocolate was a bit watery - mas chocolate por favor :). They have a great selection of snacks from Mexico and the US and some nice wines.

A friendly , cosy , little gem of a place with amazing sandwiches , breakfasts , coffee , pastries and Mexican / Asian delights. The egg sandwich can only be described as “heaven of earth” and the staff are the friendliest bunch ever . More than highly recommended.
