Lovely gem of a pub in town with some of the friendliest staff I've ever met.

Just randomly popped in on Thursday evening- such a good vibe. Amazing atmosphere and good service 🤩

Just of the Castle Square ,on the right, opposite the charity shop. Great olde pub.Televisions to the right bar on the back wall. Comfortable and varied seating at windows ,also more bench seating and tables to the left.food available, jovial landlord and varied drinks.

Came in for a 60th birthday drink. Staff very attentive and accommodating throughout our visit. Will definitely be back. X

Great traditional landlords finally . Atmosphere is welcoming and friendly . The boars is an asset to Ruthin .

Visited this pub today and stayed there for 2 hours and will definitely return when back in Ruthin. Vic and Nicola couldn’t have been friendlier chatting to us for ages and sharing the interesting ghost stories of the pub. Nicola even shared her angel cards with us which kept us occupied for hours. We loved the atmosphere and warmth of the pub and my friend loved the inches cider there. Nice it’s in the heart of Ruthin too and vic even more welcoming to Notts forest supporters like my friend!! I loved 70s and 80s music too. Great atmosphere. Thanks for a lovely afternoon

Great service , friendly people , beer well kept and served , new land lord and land lady Vic and Nicola are very nice decent people, dog friendly , gave my dog treats and water 👍

We visited the pub last week on a wet and windy day with our 3 beagles.l - we were luke drowned rats when we walked through the door! The welcome we got by the manager and patrons was so hearwarming, and we were so touched. The manager took the dogs rain coats and put them over a radiator to dry (even turning up the thermostat and ignoring the puddles on his floor). Specual treats were given to the pooches, whilst me and my husbamd chilled out with a wine and a beer! I have never visited such a caring pub .... i will definitely be visiting Ruthin much more often.! Thank you for being so special x

We called in for a couple of drinks,first round he did my wife a gin and coke 😳lol second round better, there were only two other people in so it lacked a bit of atmosphere . Cheers Duncan and Helen

Lovely warm atmosphere. Local pub great Carling lager great barmaid. Informative locals especially for advice on places to visit & stay.

A good and lively place to have few drinks. They have got a pool table as well if you like to play a few rounds. Good selection of Beer and Whiskey.

Lovely pub, great to meet the locals of Ruthin. Ask for Rich or just chat to the friendly staff. There's no food so don't expect a meal and a pint. This is a pub of pubs, chat beer and beer!! Had meny a great time in the boars!

A good pint and friendly pub. Atmosphere was good, quite lively. Had the football on when we were there and there was a good group of people watching - the TV was up high though so you could see it from a lot of places. Worth a visit if you're in Ruthin.

Used to work here and spend a lot of my time socially here as well. The landlord is well liked and respected. Beware of the waffle.

Great local pub, the landlord was chatty and helpful

Small pub located off of the main square. Have been there twice and loved the atmosphere. Patrons and staff were very friendly. There were a good selection of beers on tap and also a good variety of other drinks. Prices were very cheap and service was good. Only main downfall was the poor state of the toilets. I would rate 5 stars otherwise.

As mentioned by a few other visitors, a good welcoming friendly pub a stones throw away from the Castle. Recommend a pint of the 'best' bitter

Favourite pub we visited in Ruthin. Ales could be better (would have liked some local ales) but great friendly service and very welcoming and warm. Highly recommend.

22nd Sept 2012. Had s fab time. Very welcoming. Great landlord and landlady and a great choice of drinks! A must if in Ruthin! :-)
